"We were just wondering if you might have some water to spare? We will be on our way again as soon as possible." the daughter says again after noticing the village people. Mirabel spins around and notices how everyone is on edge.

"Oh, don't worry about them. It's just… we don't get many visitors." Mirabel says and smiles gently.

"Ah, we understand." the girl replies, not actually knowing why.

"We're lost." her brother says with an almost bored tone.

"André!" she yells at him. He just shrugs his shoulders and the girl sighs. Mirabel looks concerned at the family in front of her.

"You're lost?" she asks and the girl turns to her again.

"Well… yes. You see, we are not from around here, we have come here from the other side of the ocean, and we kind of… lost our map…" the girl says shamefully and gives a slight blaming look at her parents who tries to deflect it by shaking their heads.

"Wow, from the other side of the ocean?!" Antonio tabs in when he pushes through his parents. Pepa and Félix grabs him again but the girl just smiles at him.

"Yes, from a place much uhm… colder than this."

"Wow, so cool!" he yells. Mirabel's mother Julietta looks at Augustín and then at Mirabel. Her motherly instincts never seem to fail.

"We have an empty building by the corner of the village. It is under construction but has a roof at least. How about you stay here until you've resupplied?" she says with the gentlest voice you could imagine.

"Really? We don't want to be in your way." the girl says and looks at the village people again.

"Don't worry about it." Mirabel replies before Julietta and she nods her head towards the edge of town. "Come on, let's get you settled in."

The girl winks her family to follow, which makes the parents give smiles of relief. The rest of the family Madrigal walks back to Casita, a little nervous about the strangers. Mirabel walks besides the strange girl and waits a few seconds before talking.

"Sooo… How come you're the only one who talks with us?" she asks with a curious and slightly suspect look. The girl straightens her backpack and herself, you can clearly see her back hurting by the weight.

"I've always been fascinated by the culture here in central America and have been studying its languages for a few years now. You see, I convinced my family to travel here and now… well like my brother said, we're lost."

"Yeah, does he know our language too?" Mirabel asks.

"No, let's just say it's not the first time he's had to say that…" the girl says with a little denial and tries to laugh it off.

"Oh…" is the only answer she could come up with.

"Yup." the girl sighs but with a sarcastic look on her face.

They arrive at the house on the edge of town, and Julietta wasn't wrong. It clearly is under construction, but it does have a roof at least. The walls are a bit cracked and you can hear some gravel falling from the roof. The family hesitates before walking up to the house.

"Well, here we are." Mirabel says. "I hope you can use it, even as it is now."

"Thank you so much, we really are in your debt." the girl smiles.

"Hey, no worries. By the way, I never got your name?" Mirabel asks while the parents and brothers walks through the door to the house.

"It's Alexandra." she says, now with a much happier voice.

"Well Alexandra, my name is Mirabel."
