Editor's Note: What was different?

1. Before, the story was not Irish enough despite being set in Ireland.

2. Unnecessary POVs were deleted.

3. The horrible dwarf character was deleted.

4. The tedious centaur character was deleted.

5. Butler's sister was deleted, because this author isn't very good at writing girls.

6. Redundant parts of the technical writing (most of it) were deleted.

7. Before, the faeries didn't act like real faeries, and instead used muggle technology.

8. Dynamics were added, such as Butler not believing in magic, Artemis' father owning a toy store, and his twin brothers (who were actually introduced in a later book) celebrating Christmas.

9. Foreshadowing was added, such as everything in the faeries' book (which used to contain a pointless poem that rhymed despite being a translation), and Artemis' change of heart, which was sudden and made no sense.

10. Details were changed to be funnier and more interesting.

The original had only two good lines:

"I forgot to put together a database of witty responses for the kidnapping,"

and

"I don't like lollipops."
