AN/ This story contains triggers. There is a trigger warning for double suicide, drink abuse. If you don't like it, please stop here. I am working on an extended ending for the people who love happy endings. This isn't a love story.

This story is based on and a sequel to Jcapasso's story Alone.

The story is based on the song whiskey Lullaby, performed by Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss.

The whiskey lullaby by Lady_T1987:

Lucifer traveled around for years, drinking, partying, doing drugs. Nothing really eased his mind over what had happened. He could shrug off what his brothers and Linda had done. There was one person, more specifically one moment he couldn't forget, not even with the largest amount of scotch. He tried to drink constantly, try to live in a sort of buzz feeling, which wasn't easy with his angelic metabolism. Nothing was strong enough to get what she did out of his mind.

It didn't really help, when looking for some of his drugs, he found a picture from better times. A time when he thought he couldn't be happier. They stood on the beach, smiling after they had kissed for the very first time. This was the last straw. All the memories were coming back. She had done what not even his father had been able to do. She broke the king of Hell.

He took the picture and all the alcohol and drugs he still possessed, putting everything in bags, putting the picture in his inside pocket. There was one other thing he took with him, Azrael's blade. The devil shrugged his shoulders and flew to a lonely island somewhere in the Pacific Ocean.

A small island with a few animals, not even discovered yet. The fallen angel stared in front of him while opening his first bottle of booze while sitting in the sand, watching the dolphins jump out of the water, making it a beautiful sight with the full moon in the background. The stars, his stars shining brightly. For the first time in his existence, he couldn't enjoy them, though. He kept watching them while he drank all his booze, taking all his drugs.

For the first time in a long time, he was really drunk and high, even if with his metabolism it only was for an hour. The moment he opened the last bottle, that was the moment that he took the picture out of his inside pocket.

He ripped the picture in a million pieces before throwing the pieces in the air, followed by the bottle, smashing it against a tree while he screamed demonically. When he sat back down, he took the other object out of his pocket, Azrael's blade.

He didn't have the strength anymore to get up and fight. He didn't have the strength to continue his life. The only thing he had to do was one last prayer towards his Father, an honest prayer.

Up in the Silver City, hundreds of angels were sitting at a desk. You could see it as a heavenly call center of some sort, where the prayers were filtered for the first time and saved for their Father.

One of the angels, Gadiel, heard the voice of his brother's prayer coming through. Normally they would delete it, but something in his voice made him listen to it. At the end of the prayer, he looked shocked, this wasn't good.

The angel wrapped the prayer in a sort of bubble and ran straight to his father's office. Normally it would have to be checked by the management but if he had to do it the normal way, it could be too late.

He stormed inside the office without knocking. His Father was in a meeting with some higher angels, on the table the lift of Lucifer's banishment.

"Gladiel! You better have a good reason for storming in like this." God said angrily.

"Excuse me, Father, but I think this prayer is reason enough. You need to listen to it before it's too late." Gladiel said, still in shock at what he had heard.

"We can't mingle with human lives." God said, "You know that."

"It's not from a human, but from Samael. I think he is going to do some really stupid things." The angel said with a serious tone of voice.

God noticed the look on his face, he knew that Gladiel wouldn't say this if it wasn't an emergency.

"Alright, we will continue this meeting later. I will all summon you." God wanted to be alone with prayers, his children knew that much.

When he was finally alone, he opened the bubble, the only angel present was Gladiel. He started listening.

God immediately started to worry the moment he heard how broken his Lightbringer sounded.

"I don't know if you will hear this Father, but I wanted to say how… how sorry I am for everything I ever did to you. I am sorry I couldn't be the son that you wanted me to be. I know that you are ashamed of having a monster like me as a son. If I am honest with myself, Dad, I started the whole rebellion as a cry for you to notice me. I needed you, Dad, I always needed you. I wanted you to be proud of me. Instead, I became the poison of the family. I should have let Chloe kill me back then, it would have saved me a lot of heart pain. It gave me the conclusion that I will never be more than evil incarnate. Don't worry. I will remove the poison. The last thing I want you to know is that I always loved you. After tonight, I will be a faint memory."

God was shocked. This was indeed not his Lightbringer speaking, his Lightbringer was strong. That's why he had trusted Hell to him.

God zoomed in on where his son was sitting. He saw his son lying in the sand with Azrael's blade next to him. He rewound from the moment where he had ended the prayer and saw his son looking at the blade. His eyes were red and puffed. Not his devil's eyes, but this time from crying his heart out.

"No!" God yelled when he saw his son take the blade and stab himself straight into his heart. He was too late. There was nothing he could do now.

"Gladiel, the banishment is lifted, I am going to bring the body of your brother home." God said with tears in his eyes, "After that, I am going to have a little talk on earth. Send word to Amenadiel that I want to speak to him, Michael, and the two humans that hurt my son."

"I will get word to Gabriel, Dad." He said, but his Father had already disappeared.

God landed appeared on the island next to his son's lifeless body. He kneeled next to him, taking the body of his son in his arms. The dark-skinned man started crying for the first time in his existence.

"Oh, son, why didn't I notice that you were so broken? Why didn't I pay more attention to you? If I had, then you should have been alive right now. I am going to take you home, son. You will always be my Light. If I only told you how much you meant to me. If only I had been honest with you."

The weather changed over the earth, and in every corner of the world, it started to rain with storms and thunder. God didn't care at this moment if this would hurt the humans, he was once so fond of. They took away his dearest son, so they were going to pay.

He put his son in his arms and lifted him in his arms. Holding the cold, lifeless body close to him. He disappeared the same as had appeared. A bright light could be seen.

The moment he arrived in the Silver City he summoned a beautiful silver coffin underneath the big and beautiful willow tree in his private garden. The golden and silver leaves. Hanging over Lucifer's coffin.

He had summoned all of his children except Amenadiel and Michael. He will deal with them later.

He was surprised when Gladiel started singing the moment the coffin was sliding down in the heavenly ground. The rest of the angels soon followed.

God summoned a tombstone from silver with his name in golden letters. His chosen name is in big letters underneath his original name. Decorated with a big gold star.

God stayed as last one, he kept staring at the headstone with tears in his eyes. He didn't want to admit it before, but maybe he had made some mistakes in raising Lucifer.

"Your battle is over now, son. You can rest. I will fight to clear your name." God whispered before he disappeared.

Amenadiel, Michael, Linda, and Chloe were all waiting for God to appear. Amenadiel and Michael knew that this couldn't be good.

They didn't need to wait long. Linda and Chloe both closed their eyes as the white light was way too bright for them.

The two angels saw something they have never seen before. Their Dad had been crying, his eyes were cold as ice. It made them both swallow.

"Father…" Amenadiel started.

"Silence!" God's voice made Linda's house shake, a vase fell on the floor in million pieces.

He saw Chloe and lifted her up in the air without even touching her. Seeing Chloe's face, they noticed she had trouble breathing. Their Father's hand was trembling, "You! You are the reason I lost yet another son."

"Dad, please. Uriel was killed in self-defense. Lucifer didn't have a choice." Amenadiel tried to reason with his Father.

"I am not talking about Uriel!" Gold yelled at his son with a trembling voice, "I am talking about Samael."

"Dad! Lucifer just left!" Michael said trying to save his own skin because he knew they were next.

"If you both think that then you are all even more stupid than I already thought." God growled, "This filthy human being did something that nobody had ever succeeded before. She broke my Lightbringer so much that he used Azrael's blade."

Amenadiel and even Michael were both shocked when they learned this.

"Amenadiel, what does this mean?" Linda asked curiously.

"Did you ever pay attention while trying to make him human?" He growled at Linda.

"Samael, or Lucifer as you know him, took his own life. He ceased to exist." He turned back towards Chloe, "You finally got what you wanted, right? You saved this universe from evil incarnate right?"

"Father, it was never her plan to kill him," Amenadiel said.

God didn't turn his eyes away from Chloe, who was struggling to get back down. "So they don't know your dirty little secret? They don't know how you tried to poison my son? Give me one good reason why I wouldn't smite you right here and now."

He threw her against the wall. His eyes were wet, full of tears, some of those tears escaped his eyes. Chloe hoped the angels would help her, but the only thing they did was look between her and their broken Father, "I am going to let you live with the guilt you killed my son, knowing you will have the whole afterlife to be reminded about that one moment that you started to kill my son slowly and painfully."

"Please Father have mercy." Amenadiel pleaded, folding his hands like he would say a prayer.

"Don't give me that shit, Amenadiel. Where was your mercy when you threw him back in Hell every time, in my name nonetheless, or you Michael when you tried to ruin his life? I will let you know that I buried my son under my willow tree and that you two are both banished from the silver city."

"Dad come on…" Michael started, he saw his plan to become God himself disappear in front of his eyes.

"Leave it, Michael. You all got what you wished." God said, he was now trembling completely with anger and grief, "That's all that I have to say about it. As for you Dr. Martin, I am going to take Charlie with me and he will be raised in Heaven so that none of you can make him hate his uncle. Your soul is banished from Heaven as well as Chloe's."

"You can't take my baby," Linda yelled in tears.

"Can't I? Watch me?" God snapped his fingers, and before Linda knew it he disappeared with Charlie on his arm.

"You can make sure that I have my baby back!" Linda yelled at Amenadiel.

The dark-skinned angel sighed deeply, "I am sorry, I can't Linda. Both me and Michael are banned from Heaven. We will burn up in the fire from the moment we walk through the gates."

"Can't you get your siblings to bring him down?" Linda asked, trying to find a way to get little Charlie back.

Amenadiel shook his head, "No sibling in his right mind would go against Father now, especially not now after what has happened with Lucifer. He buried him in his private garden, Linda, only his favorite son would be buried there. We are now fallen and angel non grata among them."

Linda fell on her knees and started sobbing. She would never see her son again.

Chloe sat now against the wall. She didn't know what to feel first the shock of meeting God? The pain from being thrown against the wall or the fact that her act of fear had broken Lucifer so much that he not only took his life but made his soul disappear?

She tried to stand up. It took her a few attempts but in the end, she managed. She saw her wounds as her punishment, one of the many she would have to face.

The moment she came home immediately took a bottle of scotch out of Maze's secret stash of booze. She had a feeling that she wouldn't see the demon anymore. Her roommate had been on a bounty hunt but God would find her. Over the years she became more sure because Maze was never seen again.

It started with drinking whenever she was home, neglecting Trixie until Dan went to court and received full custody of his daughter. Keeping her away from her daughter as long as she didn't get up and started to do something about her life.

She tried to fight the alcohol for several years, always losing the fight. Hiding the alcohol on her breath with peppermint and cigarettes. One day she lost the fight and came to work drunk. She was losing a battle. Her work went from bad to worse. Her mind was always with the angel she had fallen in love with but could never be hers thanks to her stupid decision. Nobody knew that her guilt was eating her away.

She didn't sleep anymore, from the moment she closed her eyes, she saw his handsome face smiling at her.

She was now again one of the detectives, getting the shittiest cases, the ones nobody else wanted to do. Her closing rate was even worse.

One night she took the bottle standing on her bedside table, hitting the picture of Lucifer and her she had framed. The photo was taken after one of the more important cases they had closed.

She took the photo in her hand as tears started to go over her face. She took the notebook and a pen in her drawer and started to write, "I am sorry for everything I caused, but I can't get over the fact that Lucifer killed himself because of me. I admitted too late that I love him."

She placed the notebook on the desk and drank the last of her bottle before she took her gun and pointed it against her head and pulled the trigger. She finally lost the battle against alcohol and guilt.

It was Dan who had found the body the next day. She was buried with a normal funeral. Not a lot of people attended, just Dan, Trixie, Amenadiel, and Michael. Linda never showed up, she never forgave him that his Father had taken her son. She kicked him out

Chloe woke up in one of the high prison cells in Hell. The majority of the demons, who had been loyal to their king, looked at her in disgust. They had made a special loop for her.

Dromos walked inside the loop before they were going to start it, "You killed our king and because of that got our sister Maze killed by his Father. We will have fun torturing the hell out or in this case in you."

"All you had to do was accept him like he was, but no, he wasn't good enough for you." Belios chimed in. "That's where we will start this loop, showing you all the times you tried to change him."

They started the loop which made Chloe scream in pain at every mistake she made, every time she never believed him no matter what evidence she saw, every time she lied to him.

She didn't know what she felt guiltier over, the fact that she did all those things or that always forgave her.

They showed her how she thought that he was involved with the Satanists, or when she thought that he had murdered a priest in his bar.

She saw all the times that he died for her or saved her ass. The worst had yet to come though. The moment that she used his feelings for her to try and poison him. Instead of the glass falling down, he drank the poison so she had murdered him and she would do it again and again for the rest of eternity. This was her punishment and nothing and nobody would help her.

She killed the love of her life.

The End.
