Season 1: Episode 15
"Hmmm, how about...this one?"
Shel smirked as Becca yet another pleated schoolgirl style skirt off the rack. They were at the local mall, in one of many clothing stores and while Becca usually was wanting to check them all out and try on different things, this time she seemed a lot more focused on one particular set of clothing, one particular style.
"It looks as good as each of the other ones you picked." Shel remarked. "I can't help but notice a pattern here Becca, what are you up to?"
Her amused smirk grew as Becca became predictably flustered.
"I just, it's something the girls and I are planning, okay."
Shel's expression softened at that. "This style, this is about that poor friend of yours...Clementine, right?"
Becca bit her lip, but nodded and Shel hugged her reassuringly.
Resuming their search Becca smiled as she soon found an outfit she liked. One that would have done Clem proud, she was sure of that. It was then she spotted something, or rather, someone, and was surprised.
"Becca?" Shel queried.
"I'll be right back." Was all she said.
With that she crossed over the store to the person in question and spoke.
"Lily?"
The woman turned, looking startled and somewhat annoyed.
"Oh, Miss Jones." She remarked.
Becca suddenly felt awkward but asked. "What...are you doing here?"
Lily quirked an eyebrow but replied. "Shopping, of course, not that it would be your business."
"Y-yeah...um, have you had any luck?" Becca replied quickly, changing the subject.
Lily's expression changed at that, she looked thoughtful.
"Nothing concrete, but a few suggestive leads have appeared." She said at last. "I'll let you know if they come to anything."
"Thanks." Becca nodded and excused herself.
Making her way back to Shel, Becca couldn't help but be suspicious. She wondered just who Lily was shopping for, since the clothes Lily was looking at, not to mention the ones she already had, were clearly too small for her.
Finally finished with their shopping trip the sisters began making their way across the parking lot to Shel's car. As they were walking Becca noticed Lily again, on her phone and seeming agitated. Her suspicions from earlier came back and she edged a little closer, trying to hear.
"No, we discussed this." Lily was saying. "The plan was supposed to remove the danger he posed till he could be dealt with."
The person on the other end of the phone was saying something.
Lily seemed unhappy with the response. "The threat is causing trouble with new targets probably to lure out their main one, they didn't buy our plan."
More talking from the other end and Lily scoffed.
"Listen here." She snapped. "I will not have Project Delta be put at risk because some creep thinks he can act out perverted fantasies on Subject Sixteen, is that clear."
Becca was startled by what she was hearing. 'Okay, what the hell?'
"Becca, c'mon. You're daydreaming." Shel said suddenly, getting her attention.
Becca started. "Sorry."
With that she quickly followed Shel and soon their shopping bags were packed away and they sat in the car.
It was only once she was in the car, waiting for Shel to start driving that Becca looked across and saw Lily getting into her car. That was when Becca froze, her blood running cold. She quickly pulled out her phone and sent a message in her and her friends group chat.
"We need to meet, usual spot, ASAP." She sent.
Her urgency must have been noted for they all expressed concerns, while agreeing to meet up. Becca couldn't take her gaze off Lily's car as Shel drove away, all for one simple reason. It was the exact same car, the second car that had been following Clementine in Gabe's photos.

She soon met up with the others who had already got to their usual meeting spot before she did.
"Becca what's wrong?" Violet asked at once.
Sarah nodded. "You were so frantic when you sent that message, why do we need to meet?"
"Yeah, why not tell us on the chat itself?" Brody added.
Becca shook her head "You guys aren't gonna believe this, but I needed to tell you in person, it's crazy…"
She then began to explain her encounter with Lily, what Lily was doing and her suspicions, then she explained about the phone call which she saw caught the attention of all three of the others. Then came the biggest shock, when she revealed what she had noticed about Lily's car.
"Wait what, are you sure?" Brody burst out.
"Yes, it's the same car." Becca insisted. "Right down to the license plate."
"Holy shit…" Violet whispered. "Then what is she doing really, what is this Project Delta and Subject Sixteen, this creep...how is Clem wrapped up in all this."
"Your guess is as good as mine." Becca grumbled. "On top of that, try though we might, we can't really do much about it right now, we've got the sports gala to think about."
They all grimaced at that, realizing Becca was right, that was something that would require their utmost concentration.
This left them with a problem.
"Dammit, then how are we supposed to, we can't just leave this waiting, can we?" Becca wondered aloud. "I mean, I've got my new duties as cheer captain, plus with Sophie joining the squad I'm gonna have to help make sure she's up to speed."
"Wait, Sophie joined, when?" Brody asked.
Becca shook her head. "Last week, after finding out Kyle was on the football team. But anyway…"
"Right, right...um…" Sarah pondered for a moment.
They knew the sports gala was important for the school, even if it was mainly friendly matches, the girls being the stars of their respective sports would be watched carefully and expected to perform well, they couldn't do that and deal with these issues surrounding Lily and this Project Delta at the same time. In face the baseball team had it hardest, playing an actual game at the gala against another school, despite the nervousness at losing their star player.
"Wait, I've got it." Sarah gasped. "It's so obvious. Guys, remember, I'm not doing a sport. You guys do what you have to do and while you're doing that, I'll dig around and see what I can find."
The others grinned, realising she was right, it was so simple they couldn't believe they didn't figure it out before. Regardless they were just glad that now, they had a plan.
End of chapter, hope you enjoyed it, read and review please.
