Walking Dead: Secrets of the Past
Chapter 16 of my Walking Dead story, enjoy.
Reviews
Boris Yeltsin: Thanks, yes, it's confusing and raises even more questions, for example, if referring to sixteen, that implies at least fifteen others...
Wolfgirl2013: Thanks :)
Now onto the story.

Season 1: Episode 16
The sounds of various students, either cheering, calling out, exclamations of effort, all of it mingled as the sports gala continued to be underway. Having finished his latest run around the track, Gabe stopped and caught his breath, taking a sip from his water bottle. He tugged at his grey tank-top and black mid-thigh shorts which along with the white sports socks and sneakers made up the track team uniform.
"That was a good lap, Gabe." The coach remarked as he stepped up to Gabe. "Good to see you're still keeping at it."
Gabe nodded. "Yes sir, of course."
He grinned and the coach nodded and left to talk to some of the other members of the team. Still grinning he looked around, noting the energetic performance of the football team as they played their exhibition game, cheered on enthusiastically by the cheer squad, he spotted Becca and Sophie right away and smiled at how well they were doing, while also enjoying themselves. Turning he looked around to try and spot any of the others soon enough spotting Brody, looking incredible in her tennis uniform.
'Wow, she looks so...so amazing in her tennis uniform, the skirt even makes her legs look longer and...whoa, behave yourself.' He quickly caught himself and chastised himself.
Then Brody happened to look up at catch his eye, she grinned back at him and winked. He blushed, wondering if she had even an inkling what he was thinking, but returned her grin and prepared himself to start his next lap.
Seated with John and David, laptop before her as she began checking for what they needed to search, Sarah couldn't help but smile.
"Everybody's having so much fun huh?" She remarked.
John grinned, his arm around Sarah. "Yeah, even the baseball team's doing great, despite their worries…"
Sarah nodded. "Yeah, what about you David, anything caught your eye?"
David started and turned to them, blushing. "Um, I-"
"Ohh, checking out the cheerleaders, or more likely, one particular cheerleader." John teased.
David blushed harder and rolled his eyes. "Dude, enough."
Sarah just laughed good naturedly. 'He just can't admit his crush on Becca...not like she's any better. Anyway, I need to focus.'
She turned her attention to the laptop again and continued her searching, trying to dig up anything on Lily, Subject Sixteen or Project Delta, even searches with some or all of them together. But something occurred that bothered her, something that happened with each and every search. Something which raised a lot of red flags for Sarah which she knew was going to cause bother for the girls when they came to talk to her about it.
"Sarah, you okay?" John asked, noticing her concern.
She bit her lip and shook her head. "It's, it's nothing. My mind was just wandering."
She didn't want to talk to him about this, Gabe was only so far involved, but John and David were not and she didn't want to bring them any further into things, at least not yet. She needed to talk to the other girls first.
Pulling herself out of the pool, hearing the cheers from the audience, Violet gave a small smile, she felt confident that she had just reached her best time yet. Turning to look towards the audience her smile faltered and she bit her lip, Minerva wasn't there.
'She seemed...disappointed, or distressed when I spoke to her about swimming. My passion for it, as if she wasn't happy about it.' Violet recalled. 'I don't get...and why wouldn't she come, I was hoping she'd be here to support me…'
She quickly pushed the thoughts out of her head and tried to focus as she prepared for her next set. It wasn't until she finished that set however that she saw something, Minerva was here now, seated in the audience, smiling sheepishly at her. Violet felt relief flood it, she wasn't being left on her own, Minerva was just late. She smiled at that and nodded to her and prepared to begin for the last set of the day. It wouldn't he long before they reached a halfway point where everyone would soon be finished, except for the football team, by extension the cheerleaders, and the baseball team who would be finishing their games, the baseball game being considered especially important.

It was finally the half way point and everyone was taking a break, with the football players, baseball players and cheerleaders preparing to continue afterwards. Looking over this, Aasim bit his lip, he was worried, indeed he couldn't help it as he had seen Ruby being approached by another football player trying their luck for that sick bet.
'He clearly got turned down but...but Ruby, she looks so, flustered…' He thought worriedly.
He couldn't help but be concerned, what if Ruby would eventually accept one of them.
"What's got you so worked up, dude?"
He started and turned to see a friend of his, Louis Suleiman, a tall boy with medium length dreadlocked brown hair and brown eyes with light brown skin and a lanky build. He quickly shook his head, he knew Louis was a good friend, but he was too much of a jokester, he couldn't talk about something like this to him.
"It's, it's nothing, dude."
Louis quirked an eyebrow. "You say that dude, but I can see you're lying and I will find out what this is about."
Aasim just grimaced, that was all he needed.
Meanwhile Violet, now dressed, Becca and Brody made their way over to Sarah. The others were all busy chatting elsewhere, giving them a chance.
"So, Sarah, how did it go?" Brody asked.
Violet noted Sarah's expression. "Is, is something wrong?"
Becca sighed. "You didn't get anything useful huh?"
"It's even stranger than that guys." Sarah said quietly, looking around. "I searched everything, each thing individually, Lily Rapp, Subject Sixteen, Project Delta. I combined some of the words to each other, even searched all three at once and there was no results."
"So, like I said, nothing useful." Becca said.
Sarah shook her head vehemently. "No, I mean no results. There was nothing whatsoever about any of them, it's like they don't exist."
She even showed them her search results, all of them, just as she said, blank. The other girls stared in shock and worry, unable to believe what they were seeing. But there was little time for Becca to worry about this as she had to join the cheerleaders as the break was soon over.

The day ended on a high note for the school as the football team ended their practice match and showed themselves off well, as did the cheerleaders and as Becca commented with a laugh, the prize image of the day was of Sophie and Kyle kissing after the game. Even better for them, their baseball team, even without their star player, pulled off a great win against the opposing school. Watching all this however was a shadowy figure who watched quietly. This was the same one who had entered the Hutchison house through the window. With a quick nod they pulled out a phone and quickly sent a message, sent to all four girls, Brody, Becca, Violet and Sarah.
"Good work today, but be careful. Danger is drawing ever closer."
End of chapter, hope you enjoyed it, read and review please.
