Ron stayed in the Burrow for a few weeks with his parents. A lot of memories had already came back, mostly from his childhood. He had only seen Hermione three times during family dinners but stopped himself from making any comments. The only words they had exchanged were terribly common, especially for a married couple. Hermione, as well as their marriage, stayed a true mystery to Ron, who did not recall anything. He remembered some times with Harry in highschool but talking with Ginny had taught him that they had met Hermione in London College where she had attended Law School, which led her to become one of the most influential lawyer in London. But he could not recall anything from his time in College.

When he woke on, on the Tuesday morning, the third week of his stay in the Burrow, he was surprised to find a small wrapped gift and a white envelope on his nightstand. Without knowing how, he recognized the writing on the envelope as Hermione's writing, where she wrote his name. He opened the envelope and read:

Ron,

I know that you do not remember but today is our 2 years anniversary. It has been 2 years since we got married. I thought about offering you this gift in different circumstances but life is full of surprises, we cannot do anything about it in our case. I hope you like it.

Happy anniversary.

Love,

Hermione.

He stared at the letter for a long time. So it was their anniversary today.

Where did their wedding took place?
He would never doubt that Harry was his best man.
Hermione should have looked stunning in her wedding dress, why had he not seen any pictures yet?
How did he propose to her?
Did it rain that day?
What did they get a wedding gifts?
How did they spend their first anniversary?
Did they go on a honeymoon? Where?

So many questions in his head and he could not seen himself going and asking them to the other main character of this story, he wished not to hurt her again. He decided that he was going to get her a gift anyway. Then he remembered that a gift was attached to the letter. He unwrapped it delicately. In the box was a keychain shaped as an H. He could not help smiling and tried to find keys to attach this romantic gift to them. He could not find any, so he put it on his jean belt and put the letter in his pants pocket.

He then drove to London, willing to see Hermione and talk with her, without messing things up. At least he was going to try.

When he arrived in London city center, he parked and decided to go buy a chocolate box for her. It was around noon and his greedy stomach made him stop in front of the ice cream shop he was fan of, as he recalled. He took a generous portion and sat down on the terrasse, below a parasol. He was quietly watching bystanders when he heard:

'- Ronald Weasley, is that you?'

He looked towards the voice and saw a young woman, his age probably, blond hairs with pink locks. She was widely smiling and trying to come closer to him. He could not recognize her, as usual, but he knew they knew each other before his accident. She sat in front of him and blocked the view to the street. She bent on the table to kiss him on the cheek. She sat back and smiled:

'- I heard about your accident and your little memory problem. So you should not remember me, I am Lavender Brown. We met in College. We were in the same class. So how are you feeling?

- Except for the accident and its consequences, I'm fine. I'm trying to remember the period in College, maybe you could help me?'

She touched her heart and said, almost fakely crying:

'- I'll be delighted! Tell me what you want to know.

- Ginny said that I did not stay long in College, is that true?'

She agreed.

'- Why? Did I not like it?

- Oh dear Merlin, no… you stayed 3 years, just enough to get your bachelor degree but it never really interested you. You were doing a lot of sports.

- Sports?

- Yeah, soccer, tennis. You were a big sporty guy, I'm sure you still are…

- Harry told me that I was coaching a small football team close to my place, because I stopped my career…

- So bad…' added Lavender, winking seductively at Ron, making him feel embarrassed.

He stayed silent for a few seconds then asked her the one question he wanted to ask her.

'- I've been told that I met Hermione in college, is that right?'

Lavender face got darker but she answered:

'- Yes it's true.

- You too knew her back then?

- Yeah… we were roomies…

- Really? You should know that today it's our anniversary, you're going to be able to tell me how the wedding went!'

Lavender hesitated.

'- I… I was not invited to your wedding…

- Why?

- Because my friendship with Hermione did not last long. She moved out after 1 year with me to live on her own.

- Why? What happened?

- How to put it… Ron… We dated in college, the two of us…

- Really?

- Yeah, it sounds crazy I know… Well, she was in love with you and she never forgave me.

- Did it last long our… our story?

- No… Three months tops, it was a big mistake back then… But it was fun anyway. So Hermione never spoke to me again after that.

- Never?

- No, I tried to call several times, to say I am sorry, but she won't answer. So I let it go…'

Ron stayed silent. Lavender took a look at him and said:

'- Do you remember now?

- Not really… Well, what you're describing rings a bell in my mind and I feel like I can picture the school amphitheater and Hermione's apartment but I'm not sure…

- What are you going to give her for your anniversary?

- I was thinking about buying a box of chocolate. She likes chocolate?

- Of course she does. But not as much as you…' She said, pointing at his ice cream with a smile. 'And what else?'

'- I thought about getting flowers but I don't remember which one she likes or not…

- If you want I can help you. I was just about to go and do some shopping myself.'

And so they left together towards the city center and Lavender, as promised, helped him pick up chocolate and flowers. He took a set of several types of chocolate and a simple but very romantic white flowers. Going out of the boutique, he warmly thanked Lavender who kissed him again on both cheeks and wished him 'Good Luck'. He took his car and drive to the apartment he visited with Harry after getting out of the hospital.

When he rang at the door, he was not surprised to see Hermione, opening the door, even though it was quite early in the afternoon. Mrs Weasley had remembered him that Tuesdays were her rest days, most of the time she spent them working at home.

Hermione, on the other hand, was really surprise to see Ron on her doorstep with flowers and a small bag from one of the most prestigious chocolatier in London.

'- Ron? Hello…

- Hello Hermione.' Ron answered happy to see her again. 'Is it a bad time?'

He could help blushing while explaining why he was there.

'- I got your present this morning…'

Hermione blushed too.

'- So I thought that I could come by and wish you a happy anniversary too. So… There you go…'

He gave her the bouquet and the bag.

'- Happy Anniversary Hermione…'

Tears were forming inside Hermione eyes but Ron was mostly certain in was tears of joy.

'- Thank you… I… Very much… But don't stay on the doormat like that! Come in if you'd like!'

He agreed and entered her apartment, their apartment. Nothing had changed since the last time he was there, without even remembering the place. Now the atmosphere seemed familiar. Unless it was Hermione perfume, floating around him, tickling his nose.

While he was stepping into the living room, table filled with papers and files, Hermione was trying to put the flowers in a vase and telling him to seat down. He sat down in the brown armchair while she sat in the sofa in front of him.

'- Sorry it's a mess, I'm always messy when I work…

- I don't mind… but maybe you were busy, I'm disturbing you… You want me to go?

- No, no, don't worry!' she said, trying desperately to clean up a bit. 'It's just weird to see you there.' she added, shyly.

He agreed and smiled back.

'- How is it going in the Burrow?' asked Hermione after a few minutes of silence.

'- Good. It's going well. I remember a lot of childhood memories, it's going back little by little without even realizing it…. It's also why I'm here…

- Really?

- Yes… It helped me a lot to be in the Burrow, to remember all of that. And I was thinking that maybe, in order to remember all of 'that'' Ron explained while making a vague gesture around him. 'I need to go out from my parents house.'

Hermione looked around before asking with uncertainty:

'- You want to live here?

- No, no, I can't burden you with more than I am already burdening you with!

- Ron, I…

- I haven't talked with Harry and Ginny yet…' he said as if he did not heard her. 'But I think that I could live at their place for some time, to walk around in London, rediscover this environment. And maybe remember us.'

Hermione got lost in his blue eyes, which were tenderly looking at her. Then he coughed and broke the silence. Hermione stood up from the couch and suggested:

'- Do you want something to drink?

- If you have some, I'll take some mint tea… it's my favorite.'

She smiled and went to the kitchen. Ron then saw a picture frame on the couch, hidden below a cushion. He stood up and retrieved the frame. The picture was of the two of them, tenderly entangled, in wedding clothes. He could not stop smiling. As he imagined she was stunning. They both shone off happiness.

When Hermione walked back from the kitchen, she was moved by Ron's face, near the sofa, taking a look at the picture she kept looking at for the whole day. She coughed to make her presence noticed and Ron looked up at her, smiling:

'- I found it weird that I could find any wedding pictures at my folks but you have them all, don't you?'

She confessed. He put the picture back on the table and sat in the armchair. She put the trail on the table and opened the box of chocolate.

'- Oh you should not put it there, I'm gonna eat them all…'

Hermione laughed and Ron's heart melted.

'- Don't worry, every time you offer me chocolate, it is always you who eat the most.'

They looked and smiled at each other silently.

Finally Ron dared to ask:

'- Hermione, I know it's difficult for you and I can totally understand if you don't want to but I have trouble remembering our wedding, I have a lot of questions. And one say that you are the most qualified person to answer them…

- Who's 'one'?'

Ron stopped smiling, knowing Hermione reaction to the piece of information.

'- Lavender.'

Hermione stood up as if the couch had burnt her.

'- Lavender, Lavender Brown?'

Ron silently nodded.

'- You went and talked about our wedding with Lavender Brown?'
