Hey, everybody! I'm expanding my writing by adding a little something for the Marvel universe that I've been working on. They'll be a series of single-chapter stories, a little longer than one-shots, called the Puerium Files. Hope you like Volume One!
PUERIUM: VOLUME ONE
The Avengers. What a team. With their powers, their friendship, and their sacrifices, they're sure to never be forgotten. But what about the next generation?
What about if Morgan Stark, Tony Stark's daughter with Pepper Potts, inherited both her father's genius and her mother's intelligence and, partnering with the brilliant son of Peter Parker, Alexander, created flesh-and-blood living people with combinations of DNA from others?
They might have called it Project Puerium. They may have combined Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton, and Wanda Maximoff and the Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Steven Strange.
Now, let's say that's true.
Let me tell you about Adam. He was born just like a normal baby, except that he was born from a test tube. He was Morgan's and Alex's first successful creation of its kind, and the two gave him to Wanda Maximoff, who got him through his childhood. He took up apprenticeship under Doctor Strange, alongside Alex, where their friendship grew very strong. He has the fearsome powers and DNA of the Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange combined, having the power to mess with minds and sorcerous abilities such as Doctor Strange's. He possesses mild manners, a pleasant personality, and the visual qualities of Wanda Maximoff.
Now for Project Puerium Part Two.
Ryan is a deadly combination of Natasha Romanoff, the Black Widow, and Clint Barton, Hawkeye. He had perfect aim and hand-eye coordination, quick learning, quick thinking, and by the age of eight, he could competently wield the bow, a one- or two-handed sword, the crossbow, any pistol, a certain few rifles, and a submachine gun or two. He was also a decent hand-to-hand fighter. He looked just like Clint Barton, except for his hair, which was Natasha Romanoff's orange, and spiky to no end. He was given to the Barton farm family, who treated him as they would treat their own son.
Both of these children, at the age of twelve, were told of their origins. Ryan was told by Morgan, and Adam was told by Alex.
Ryan learned to trust Morgan, and their friendship gradually blossomed into romance. Adam and Alex, meanwhile, are the best of friends.
Alex is pretty much Spider-Man Jr., but, as Doctor Strange's apprentice, had mystic abilities. Morgan Stark is Iron Woman, with tech even more advanced than her father's, with armor in the style of his, but where the red had been, there is silver, and where the gold had been, there is now blue. An inversion of her mother's armor.
Ryan's watch, which he always wears, can transform into an advanced-technology recurve bow, and, using nanobot tech that Morgan had created for him, has unlimited arrows that sprout into existence whenever he needs them. He has blades coming out of the elbows on the suit of armor that he wears whenever he goes on a mission, and it suits him well, never getting in the way of his movement. It has the same color pattern as Pepper Potts, with most of it being deep midnight blue but having shiny silver buckles. He also uses a katana, whose scabbard goes over his right shoulder.
Adam always wears an outfit like the one his mother so often used, with a crimson red trench coat and combat boots just darker than it, a black t-shirt, black jeans, and a golden Seal of the Vishanti amulet. His magic, whether from Wanda Maximoff or his training under Steven Strange, is red just like his mother's.
I haven't even told you about when, hypothetically of course, they all met, when Adam was on a task for Doctor Strange, going remarkably close to some family's farm, and had been advised to utilize stealth.
Ryan was scouting out the perimeter. When the young archer saw a stranger dressed all in bloodred and black sneaking into his barn, alarms went off in his head. He jumped off the roof, snapped his watch into bow form, and launched an arrow at the stranger. The other boy seemed to feel it at the last second, and waved his arms or something, making a portal to Ryan's back, and the arrow sailed right on through.
Ryan was lucky that he was still falling, because he would have been impaled by his own arrow if not. He launched another arrow, but this time it was simply dodged. He snapped his bow back into watch form, took out his katana, and ran straight at the bloodred sorcerer. The other boy looked at him like who's this clown? and opened up another portal. Ryan stopped at the last moment, though, and slashed with his sword straight under the portal, right at the boy's legs.
The bloodred sorcerer was surprised, and he fell on his side because of the slash, his portal disappearing. He grinned. "Nice to meet you too," he said. He stuck out his right hand. He saw the expression on Ryan's face, then dropped his hand. He said "Look, I don't mean any harm to anybody. I'm just here on a mission for the Sorcerer Supreme." He saw the blank look on Ryan's face, and added "Doctor Strange."
Ryan made an O with his mouth, realization dawning on him. He got his knees off of the other boy and helped him up. "I'm Ryan. What's your name?"
"Adam. I can tell that's not just talent you've got, to be able to use those gizmos you've got there, so where'd you train?"
"My dad trained me. You may know him as Hawkeye."
"Huh. My mom's the Scarlet Witch. She raised me and trained me in her art of magic, then I went to Doctor Strange and I'm training under him now."
"Well, I'd be happy to help you do what you need to do here."
"Thanks. Apparently, I'm supposed to see an old friend here. The only place I can think of is in that barn."
"What a coincidence. I'm meeting an old friend in that barn too. Let's go then."
"All right."
And off they went.
