Fairytale
Today was a fairytale
You've got a smile, takes me to another planet
Every move you make, everything you say is right
Today was a fairytale
All that I can say is now it's getting so much clearer
Nothing made sense until I saw your face
Time slows down whenever you're around
"I'm sorry I just can't control myself." Luke voiced as Dylan McKay
"Cut." Darren called out before walking over to him and Shannen. "Luke... you're not - you're not coming off well here. Maybe try a lighter tone."
"Sorry. Maybe if someone arrived on time, I'd have time to rehearse." Luke scoffed
"So subtle, Luke." Shannen rolled her eyes
"Let's start over!" Chuck called out
Luke then picked up Shannen and slung her over his shoulder the minute they called Action.
"No, no, no!" Shannen yelled for Luke to put her down. "It's not right. And you scrunched up my dress! You're supposed to put me on your right!" She hissed
"Well that's why you should've come ON TIME. So we can work out the mechanics." Luke snapped back
"Come on! You're struggling with a mark! I just memorized the whole, updated scene in two minutes!" Shannen placed her hands on her hips. Luke turned to the crew in frustration
"It's true." Darren shrugged, "She knows it better than me and I wrote it."
"Oh so what?" Luke raised his hands in their air as he turned back to Shannen. "You're a better actor than me or something?"
"You said it." Shannen shrugged.
"Fuck you Shannen." Luke growled before storming off.
Shannen turned to Darren and Chuck, and said with a huff: "It's him, right?"
"Go work it out." Chuck said when everyone took 5 minutes away from the set.
"Why should I?" Shannen scoffed
"Because you were late. And he doesn't deserve that."
Shannen seemed completely disinterested but Chuck's voice lowered
"Shan, I want to film the rest of this episode today! Don't piss me off." He said firmly
Shannen let out an exasperated sigh but agreed to go sort it out.
Shannen stood there in the doorway of Luke's trailer
"What?" He snapped
"I'm sorry that I'm a better actor than you."
"Oh how mighty big of you Shannen." Luke spat
"Would you lighten up? It was a joke!" Shannen urged
"I'm not laughing."
"Ugh fine." Shannen walked over and sat beside him. "I'm sorry, okay? I'm sorry I was late. Sometimes I just don't think before I say things, it's an impulse."
She seemed genuinely apologetic to which he let out a sigh as his face softened.
"Well... " He wrapped his arm around her. "You wouldn't be you if you didn't bring the crazy. He teased
The cast were filming the end scene of Spring Dance which was Darren's big directorial debut. Luke and Jennie moved towards each other as he put his arm around her while the whole room were dancing for the final shot.
"You okay, babe?" He asked softly as she rested her head on his shoulder
"Yeah. Can't believe it's the end of the season. We did it, country boy!"
"Yep. And neither one of us got fired." He joked. "...I really... I loved spending time with you..." He stated sincerely before adding: "Farm girl."
She shot him a warm smile and pressed her body closer to his.
"So... what do you say we go fool around in the bathroom stall?" He toyed
"Oh my god. You realize you've said this to me before, right?" She turned to face him
"When?" He couldn't help but smirk
"Our first day of shooting together... when we had to come running down the stairs."
"Did you give me an answer?" He asked
"No." She shook her head
"So, that's why I gotta ask again!" He grinned and she laughed while nudging him with her elbow.
Shannen, who had been chatting up Vinny, the lead singer of the band hired to play at the Spring Dance episode, agreed to go out for drinks after work.
Jennie, who was freshly single, and never went out was given a pep talk to tag along by Shannen.
"You are NOT gonna go home and do what you usually do. You're a single girl in Hollywood. You're coming out with me!"
"I don't know..." Jennie's homebody side always reared its head after work.
"Come on, there'll be live music. We know how much that turns you on." Shannen teased, and Jennie let a chuckle slip
"Alright!" She jokingly groaned.
Vinny had taken Shannen and Jennie to a bar that often gives the floor to local talent. Vinny's friend Dean Carlyle's band was performing, and he introduced the musician to Jennie.
"Guys, I need you all to listen up for a sec." Chuck began, "We've got a big summer ahead! Once our final episodes air, we need to start prepping for next year. I need everyone ready for our photoshoot at the beach, including season 2 promo photos. You all have the sheet, you know the dates, and I expect you all to be there, on time, no excuses."
"Having said that, I just want to say I'm really proud of what we've done here. We were the little engine that could and no one thought we'd get this far. Mr Spelling, Darren, the entire cast and crew, thank you all and enjoy your holiday!"
"Thank you Chuck!" Jason added
"On a final note to you guys... I know there's been some back and forth with Darren about storylines and you're all excited to get the ball rolling so feel free to come meet me in my office to discuss anything you liked or didn't like. In fact, at the end of every season, hopefully we'll have plenty, tell me your ideas for your character from here on."
"Thanks." Shannen appreciated.
"Now, let's start the summer!" Charles was very excited about what was to come. This was his first Executive Producer position and he was relieved they got picked up for season 2. So to start with a bang, they decided to include summer episodes (This meant little time off for the cast and crew - particularly the writers) while every other show was in re-runs and have it based on Matt Dillon's Cabana boy, with Brandon Walsh working at the beach club. It was the summer that changed their lives.
The cast all wore the 90210 tee shirts they were given for the photo shoot at the beach. After the formal cast pictures, they got to play around a bit and goof off and the cameraman got some candid shots.
The cast were then asked for the individuals. Having Jason and Jennie do one together, Jennie and Ian. Gabrielle and Ian. Brian and Tori. Luke and Shannen. Luke and Gabrielle, Shannen and Jason, Luke and Jennie, and finally Tori and Ian.
During the time they were free, Luke and Jennie would flock towards each other.
"Hello beautiful." Luke greeted as he made his way over to Jennie, grabbing her waist.
She couldn't help but giggle like a school girl whenever he charmed her. They stood there, smiling to each other as their fingers entwined as they held hands.
"Mind if I stop you two for an interview?" One of the press videographers asked
"Sure!" Jennie exclaimed and Luke nodded with a shrug
"You're a pretty close-knit cast, eh?" the interviewer asked, "You two seem cozy..."
"Oh this?" Jennie quickly unlinked their arms. "Luke charms all the girls on set. Twirls them around. He's a little flirt." Jennie teased
"Every young man in America's got a soft spot for you, though, Jennie. Or should I say the sultry dish that is Kelly Taylor. Right, Luke?"
"Sultry dish?" Luke chuckled. He then turned to Jennie and shot her a wink while whispering "Yum."
She rolled her eyes, camouflaging her smile.
"Alright, one more question then I'll let you guys get back to work. If you could be play any iconic character or real life personality, who'd you pick?"
"Hmm..." Luke clicked his tongue. "I'm gonna keep that to myself if you don't mind. Maybe one day I'll actually do it." He grinned
"Alright!" The man chuckled, "What about you, Jen. If I may call you Jen."
"Yeah. Um... My dream is actually to play Roxie in Chicago. I'd love to do theatre, dance and sing!"
Luke laughed.
"What?" She playfully scolded
"Sing a little something for me" Luke casually suggested in a whispery drawl.
Jennie huffed defiantly and held her head high and proceeded to do a little performance right there on the beach. She adorably danced and twirled around with her arms flailing about as she sang Roxie. Luke was impressed. She had some moves.
"The name on everybody's lips is gonna be... Roxie. The lady raking in the chips is gonna be... Roxie. I'm gonna be a celebrity - that means somebody everyone knows... They're gonna recognize my eyes, my hair, my teeth, my boobs, my nose..."
"Oh yeah the teeth for sure." He poked fun at her
"Shut up!" She pretended to sulk
"I'm kidding, they'll recognize your hair. Your gorgeous, luscious hair." He purred as he held her close and nuzzled into her neck. And just as she embraced his hug, he continued on "And... the boobs. Definitely the boobs."
"Oh my lord." She groaned and playfully slapped him.
Later that afternoon, the gang were goofing around, waiting for some direction. The girls were chatting away while the boys huddled together.
"Saw you two getting cozy between shoots." Ian nudged Luke, gesturing over to Jennie.
"Damn, she is a smokeshow." Luke whispered to the boys
"So go make a move." Brian shrugged
"Oh young Bri. You are bold. Respect!" Jason fist-bumped Brian.
"No, no." Luke shook his head. What surprised many people is that Luke could get quite shy.
"Actually he has a point." Ian interjected, "What are you waiting for? Go over there and plant one on her!"
"Or ask her to practice a kissing scene like you did, IZ." Jason playfully pinched Ian
"Don't question my methods... Only my motives." Ian joked
Luke took all the mockery they threw at him and eventually got up, took off his tee shirt, and plucked up the courage to go up there.
He walked right over to the girls - which was the lion's den for a young man in his early 20s - and cradled Jennie's face in his hands, and kissed her.
The kiss was met with a series of Woohoo's from the boys, gasps from the girls, and a click from the photographer's camera.
Can you feel this magic in the air
It must have been the way you kissed me
Fell in love when I saw you standing there
It must've been the way
Today was a fairytale
