Dance With You

You are the girl that I've been dreaming
of ever since I was a little boy

One!
I'm biting my tongue.
Two!
He's kissing on you.
Three!
Oh, why can't you see

Word's on the streets and it's on the news
I'm not gonna teach him how to dance with you.
He's got two left feet and he bites my moves.
I'm not gonna teach him how to dance!

"I've only been seeing the girl for about 2 months. Then I found them sifting through my trash! Can you believe that?" Luke growled as he paced around Chuck's office. "And the next thing you know, there's this crappy storyline about me in the paper."

"It's crazy I know." Chuck sympathized. "The lengths they'll go to get dirt on you guys."

Luke shook his head with a heavy exhale. He then glanced at the open door and found Jennie walking past. He shrugged before backing out of the office.

"Hey," He said as he exited and locked eyes with her

"Hey.." She breathed out, "Couldn't help but overhear..."

"Oh." He acknowledged "Yeah..."

"So you have a girlfriend..." She concluded

He shrugged in response which irritated Jennie.

"So, you're dating." She said, trying to bite her tongue but failing. "...Apparently you've been dating for a couple of months now." Her tone was anything but friendly. "Thought you weren't ready." She mocked.

Luke exhaled with a chuckle. "I'm not gonna go there." He held his hands up, surrendering

"Why not?" She defied

"Jen..." He pleaded

"No I'd really like to know." She said firmly, folding her arms.

"Alright." He huffed and walked closer to her. "You've been flaunting your boy toy here for months. Telling me that we're friends, telling me I should be supportive, and now you're throwing a fit because I went on a few dates?"

She glared at him.

"It's just typical." She shook her head, "Guys like you claim you're not ready for a serious relationship and then 6 months later, they're married to someone else."

"Let me guess, you've been burned in the past so now you're gonna project all your insecurities onto me." He groaned

"You're a dick." She spat and his jaw clenched.

"Why? Because I did what you did and moved on?" He sassed "Say what you want about me but at least I didn't jump at the chance to move in with the next guy I see."

"Go to hell!" She hissed and stormed off.

"He's unbelievable!" Jennie yelled as she paced around Tori's dressing room.

"I know!" Tori agreed, "He could have at least told you he was seeing someone. I mean... a little heads up woulda been nice."

"He's dating someone else!" Jennie continued to ramble and Tori realized she wasn't listening to her. "Can you believe he's dating someone? After everything we've been through, I have always been open and honest with him. He's my best friend and I treat him as such... He - he was gonna let me find out about this in the paper!"

"Heard about the tabloid garbage incident. Sorry buddy." Jason acknowledged as he and Luke were waiting to shoot a scene.

"Yeah... I didn't realize how far they'd pry into my personal life, and the life of any one that gets invovlevd with me."

"Welcome to show biz." Jason shrugged

"And to make matters worse, Jen and I had a fight when she found out."

"Why?" Jason was confused

"About Rose." Luke explained

"Ugh I'm getting bored of this." Jason rubbed his eyes. "It's gotta be water under the bridge by now... She's living with a man!"

"That's what I said but she thinks I'm committing to Rose and I didn't commit to her." Luke groaned

"What did you say?"

"Nothing. She can think whatever she wants. She ended things with me and runs off with this geek. All because what? I didn't wanna move in and play house?" Luke scoffed, "And now she's found someone else to play house with."

"Yeah, no you did the right thing. You both just gotta move on. As you both agreed, you're better as friends."

That evening the cast decided to head to a karaoke bar - Shannen and Tori's idea. Those two decided on Madonna's Vogue and dragged Jennie up there. After the day she had with her and Luke not speaking, she needed a night like this.

The boys sat at the table, laughing at the girls. Ian brought the video recorder, and Jason ordered another round of shots. Luke glanced up at Jen and couldn't help but feel a twinge of sadness.

Once the girls were done, it was now Jason and Ian's turn to get up there and sing REM's losing my religion. Shannen grabbed the camera and Tori kept giggling as the boys acted out the song.

Jennie remained seated, sipping on her mojito when Luke decided to slide over and sit beside her.

"Hi," He finally said

"Hi." She mumbled

"I'm sorry." He stated flat out and her face softened.

"No, I'm sorry." Jennie revealed. "...It's not fair of me to come down on you as hard as I did... The truth is I'm with someone and shouldn't be getting mad at you for doing the same thing. I want you to be happy... I just - I guess it just stung a little." Jennie sighed

"I get it." Luke said, not taking his eyes off of her. "Ever since I saw you two together, it just... it made it a little more real." He paused. "And I'm sorry about what I said earlier. I don't wanna be talking shit - it's just a little tough."

"I know." She soothed as she squeezed his hand - understanding all too well.

"You wanna dance?" Luke asked as they slouched on the couch, watching everyone.

"Sure." She shrugged. He held out his hand and pulled her up.

Once they were on the dance floor, the awkwardness had disappeared. They reignited their chemistry that they've been forced to suppress lately. He twirled her and spun her around as they danced at a fast pace.

With her giggles, his smirks, they filled the room with their energy. And as the music slowed down, his hand slid down to the small of her back, gripping onto her tightly as she rested her head on his shoulder. They both had missed this.

He got a good whiff of her shampoo which transported him right back to the night they first made love on the beach. The happy moment was quickly fleeting and replaced by reality - the reality of them being with other people.

To take his mind off of it, he twirled her out, spun her around, and dipped her. As her upper body lowered, he gazed at her neck before his nose brushed past her cleavage from holding her so tightly. He breathed out heavily as their desire for one another came seeping through the dance.

As he was holding her - he was captivated by the moment. It's as if they forgot that everyone was around. He pulled her up slightly to bring her face closer to his and with one sudden urge, his lips crashed onto hers.

Continuous soft kisses had hypnotized them as she embraced the kiss wholeheartedly.

He slowly pulled her all the way up and as the tips of their noses were pressed up against each other, they continued to kiss. Her arms wrapped around his neck as her hands gripped onto his hair. His arms wrapped around her waist as he squeezed her tightly.

"Jen?"

As soon as Luke heard Dean's voice he snapped out of it. Realizing he had daydreamed the whole kiss as he looked down at Jennie who was still dipped. He pulled her up and she headed straight over to Dean and gave him a kiss - which Luke turned away from seeing.

He raised his hand to weakly wave at Dean before heading to the bar.

"Sorry about that." Jennie said nervously. She too couldn't help but feel her heart pounding just from dancing with Luke again. "Luke loves to twirl us girls around."

"Right." Dean said dismissively. "Listen, I'm sorry I'm late but I have a good reason."

"Oh yeah?" She asked

"Yeah." Dean smiled. "Let's go somewhere quieter." He insisted

Luke watched them walk over to the VIP section of the bar. He sighed to himself, but before he could think about the kiss that never happened or the interruption from her boyfriend, he caught Rose entering the club.

He immediately head over to her.

"Hey!" She said as she hugged him hello. "Just got off work and got your message."

"What message?" He asked

"To come meet you here." She chuckled.

"Oh right." Luke nodded, unable to think of anything he had done earlier that day after that dance.

"Listen..." He began, "Let's get out of here."

"You okay?" Rose asked once they got to Luke's place.

"Yeah... why?" He said as he slumped himself on the couch.

"I don't know you seem... disconnected." She sat down beside him and stroked his hair.

"Sorry about that." He rubbed his eyes. "It's just... It's been a long day and I - I'm just waiting for a better day."

"Something happen?" She asked

He paused for a moment, "I don't know. I'm just going through a rough patch."

"Well." She smiled at him, "As my grandmother would say, this too shall pass. You're just in your head right now and ignoring all the great thing around you - like me!" She joked to which he smiled.

He then turned to face her, amused by her positive attitude, and he realized he had a pretty great girl by his side who seemed to know how to turn his mood around 180. And maybe he shouldn't be pining for something he can't have when, in this moment, he has someone who makes him feel good.

"You're pretty great you know that?" He said as he wrapped his arm around her.

The next day at work, Luke was talking to Jason in his trailer about the whole thing.

"So you had a fantasy... No big deal." Jason shrugged as Luke paced around

"Yeah but it just sucks." Luke groaned. "I'm getting to know Rose. Who's so great by the way" He stopped pacing for a moment before continuing, "And all I can think about is Jennie and that goober."

Jason laughed. "Oh man... you gotta talk to her. Before this gets any worse..."

They were interrupted as they heard squeals from outside. They both ran out to see what all the commotion is.

"What's going on?" Jason said as the girls, Brian and Ian all stood there.

"Jennie's-" Tori excitedly squealed but Gaby politely stopped her, hinting that Jennie should relay the news.

"Well," Jennie cleared her throat. "I'm engaged!" She exclaimed - to which Tori squealed again.

"Wow!" Jason grinned, as he ran over to hug her "Congratulations."

Luke stood there unable to move. Once Jennie and Jason broke apart, Jennie coyly turned to Luke.

"Congratulations." He said curtly, unable to force a smile. He swallowed a gulp as she offered him a faint smile. He then walked away, leaving Jennie concerned.

Jennie was sitting in front of her dresser as everyone went to get ready to go home, and took out her earrings when Luke barged in.

"Seriously?" He growled. Jennie, startled, was surprised with the outburst, given how cool and collected Luke seemed earlier that day.

"What?" She gasped

"Seriously?!" He reiterated

"What?!" She urged "Luke what is it?"

He looked at her with sorrowful eyes and scoffed.

"...Nothing." He mumbled

"What's wrong?" Jennie finally got up and headed over to him. She reached out for him but he pulled back.

"What is the matter with you?" She urged again to which Luke glared at her.

"You're engaged." He concluded

"Yeah..." She shrugged

He scoffed again. "You're engaged!" He sounded almost accusatory. "And then you lump me with the group and come and tell me like I'm one of your chick friends!" He snapped

Jennie breathed out as her heart broke a little seeing him hurt.

"Luke..." She tried to console him but he was too heated.

"Whatever." He pushed her hand away and began to walk out.

"Hey! Wait a minute." She cried, calling after him. "Luke... I am sorry but you knew... you knew we were getting serious and we both made peace. You said it yourself, I live with him!"

"Congratulations." He said snidely, refusing to turn back and face her.

She let out an exasperated sigh.

"I thought you'd at least try to be happy for me." She pleaded hopelessly.

He finally turned around and glared at her right in the eyes.

"Don't you get it?" He snapped. "I love you!"

She stood there, frozen.

"I love you..." He drawled in a whisper, shrugging as he felt just as hopeless as she did.

Jennie found her bearings and finally shook her head in shock.

"How can you say that to me now?" She cried as she intensely glared back at him. "Where was this before?!" She pleaded and you could hear the disappointment in her voice. "Where was all this when you weren't ready?" She started to get angrier the more she thought about his terrible timing. "Where was this when you were basking in the glory of your groupies?" She hissed

He scoffed at her response.

"Fuck you, Jen." He seethed
