"Oh, hey, Mr. Kuso! I have this friend who's coming, he wants to see your ability."
"Hey Josuke, I'm actually heading to a class. I stopped at St. Gentleman's for lunch, now I need to be at the lecture hall in 5 minutes." I didn't have much time.
"We can walk and talk. Don't stop. The high school is kind of in that direction anyway. So, the strongest guy I know, Kujo Jotaro, is coming to town to see you. Apparently there's something important he wants to see if you can do." Josuke looked behind me. "Hey, can you bring out your stand?" I pulled it out. "You should tap on the screen. Try doing things, interacting with your stand." I tapped on the screen, and it changed. I couldn't figure out what happened exactly, but the green bar enlarged, and displayed the word "Echoes (ACT 3)." It read that it had 2%, and asked if I would like to transfer more power into it.
"I'm going to explore this a little more." Tapping on various spots on the screen did different things. I figured all of it out while in the lecture. It was on material that wasn't going on the test, anyway. First, I could keep just the tablet, and it would be invisible and I could pretend to take notes. Tapping on a color on it would bring up the associated stand. By coming into contact with someone that has one, I gain 2% of that stand. Double tapping the name would explain the stand, and tapping the box that appeared would say it aloud (the other people in my class couldn't hear it). I could transfer power from other stands I had collected into another, to make it more powerful. I had come into contact with Echoes, Crazy Diamond, Love Deluxe, and… Killer Queen? I had seen the first three as their powers were explained, but a stand that can turn anything into a bomb? That was peculiar.
And that guy who walked through walls? I think I might have bumped into him, but his power didn't appear here, nor did anything else like it. I got home later and started experimenting. At 5% most stands get an ability that works. Echoes multiplies the weight of an object by about 2.5*the percentage used, so the percentage isn't necessary to be useful. Killer Queen causes actual explosive damage at 5%, being able to destroy a book. Love Deluxe allows me to control my hair, with about a meter of range at 5%, and Crazy diamond lets me reverse things to a previous state, and I can't fix anything larger than a watermelon at 5%, and it takes a full minute. Too bad for the microwave.
It was about a week later when I came home to find my doorknob broken. The door swung open as I grabbed it, and there was a man watching Spongebob Squarepants on my TV.
"Oh, there you are." He looked over at me and paused the TV.
"5% Crazy Diamond." I fixed the doorknob and lunged over at the home invader. "So who the heck are you?" I stopped my momentum immediately in front of the guy's face.
"I'm Kujo Jotaro. I can't let you touch me, because I have already figured out that that's what lets you use my stand's power. Now, I need your power to help me with something." So this guy is that dude Josuke mentioned. Huh.
"I'm Kuso Tsuyoi, and that is actually my name, yes."
"So, there's a guy whose stand I need you to copy. His name is Enrico Pucci. He lives in Alexandria now."
"So I just got this stand, and now you want me to do something abroad for you?"
"Well, I can get the Speedwagon Foundation to cover your tuition. If that's fair compensation."
"Sold. Can I go in 3 weeks?" I was not about to miss out on free college. That's like saying no to two million yen.
"Sure. I'll stay here for the next couple weeks anyway, I was planning on coming back to do some more studies on the starfish." He left, and took a few papers out of his bag to look at on the walk back to wherever he was staying.
