Legoshi brought the ship out of warp speed and into the unexplored Kermick system. The system had been recently discovered by federation scouts a week ago and Starfleet requested that their first mission was to find the source of strange and rather primitive radio signals emmitting from a Class M planet dubbed "Newton III."

"I'm receiving the signal now sir." said Lt. Bill approaching Newton III. "It's coming from the Northeastern continent around what appears to be a sort of mountain range."

"Thank you Mr. Bill, we'll send an away team with winter gear." He said standing up from his seat. "Mr. Legoshi, you will be coming with us as well. Commander Haru, you will stay here and manage the ship."

Haru stood up "Aye sir." Legoshi left his position and entered the turbolift with Louis.

Lt. Bill took his position on the bridge.

"Transporter room" Louis said to the computer. He looked at Legoshi and took notice of his features. "Mr. Legoshi, I see that you are a gray wolf".

Legoshi gave him a confused look, "Uh… yes sir. Why is that?"

"Your traits will be important in an away mission like these. If someone goes missing, let us and the others know and try to track them as best as you can. I'm sure you already know that, but don't make me regret choosing you today. Is that clear?"

"Yes sir. If I lose that person?"

"Well then you tried, that's all that matters..." Louis said as the turbolift stopped. They made their way around the maze of hallways and into the transporter room where Dr. Gouhin and an ensign were there waiting for them. Both were in winter gear. "Are you ready doctor?" Louis said, putting on the gear.

"Always Captain." he said, double-checking the gear he brought with him. Dr. Gohin was a large panda bear who lived on Betazed for a while until he met Louis. Louis didn't like him at first, but after a few drinks, the two got to know each other well and soon became friends.

"That's the spirit." Louis said. "Set phasers to stun."

As soon as they set their phasers correctly, the crewman at the transporter controls found the coordinates closest to the signal.

"Energize" said Louis when they were all ready. They were then consumed by light and dissipated into particles as they traveled a thousand miles from their ship to the surface of the planet.

As soon as the light died out, the four crewmen found themselves in a rather cold atmosphere on what appeared to be a mountain range. The area was quiet, no blizzards or strong winds were near them fortunately. Legoshi whipped out his tricorder and located the signal. The ensign did the same with hers.

"That's strange." Legoshi said looking up from the device. He pointed it in the eastern direction. "The signal is coming from here but another one is in the western direction as well."

Louis took out his and scanned the area. "Alright, I will go with Dr. Gouhin in the eastern direction and Lt. Legoshi will go with Ensign Juno. Leave all com-link frequencies open at all times." He said. Louis tapped the com-link badge. "Cherryton this is Captain Louis". The badge made a crackling sound and soon cut out. Louis tried again, "Come in Cherryton!". Still nothing. Louis breathed a sigh of frustration and turned to his crew. "On this planet, our communications will work between us. If any of you find a good position that can reach the ship let us know." he said. They then parted ways and both Legoshi and Juno made their way down to the base of the mountain. Trying to get to know each other as they did so.

"So, Ensign, what ship did you serve on? Or did you just come from Starfleet?" Legoshi asked, looking at her. Ensign Juno was too a grey wolf who often wore an engineering uniform. Legoshi often saw her down at the warp core often testing the Bio-neural gel pack computers that were issued to them by Starfleet.

"I was on the USS George W. Bush for a year until it was destroyed." Juno replied. "During the battle of Cesium II".

"Hey, I was at that battle too, on the USS Plymouth! I'm surprised the old girl handled major hits even to the neck." He said. Legoshi remembered the attack. It was reported that the GWB responded to a distress signal from a Klingon ship. But the distress signal was a trap and two Jem'hadar ships attacked them. The Plymouth managed to arrive and so did the USS Idris, Louis' old ship. Fortunately the GWB's saucer section separated from the bottom part of the ship and escaped. The attack was also the reason why Louis was Captain. While a large majority of the crew fled to escape pods and shuttles, Louis and a few crew members managed to flip the ship upside down and disable the assailant's shields. From there they fired all photon torpedoes and phasers at the ships bridge destroying it. Louis then turned the ship sideways to protect the escaping crew as they fled to Plymouth.

As they reached the snowy surface of the planet, Legoshi's tricorder began beeping louder. "Hey, the signal is about a mile away from here" He said walking towards the mountain side. As he began walking, he noticed something that reflected on the ground. "That's no rock" he thought as he approached the object and cleared away the snow. It was some sort of reflector or light. He cleared the snow some more to find what was once a smooth surface that was pitch black. It had been cracked from erosions and weather.

"I think it used to be a road of some sort". Juno said looking around. "Maybe it leads to the signal."

"Yeah, maybe." Legoshi picked himself up and continued walking in the direction of the signal. "I guess we're not the first ones here."

Meanwhile, Dr. Gohin and Louis had their own conversation.

"You know Louis, I'm kinda glad we don't have one of those emergency medical holograms like Voyager did." Gohin said, helping Louis down from a rock. "I personally knew Dr. Zimmerman, he was a very bright man, but modeling the program after himself was not the smartest idea."

"Well you're not the only one doctor, there are other like-minded individuals out there who detest the use of the Mark 1 EMH." Louis turned back to his tricorder. "It should be here." Louis walked to a flat surface of the mountain and noticed a round metallic trap door that led to something.

"Some kind of entry way?" Gohin asked.

"Maybe" Louis replied. A large crack echoed through the air causing both of them to quickly look up. A large slope of ice was sliding down from the tip of the peak. Louis whipped out his phaser and began cutting into the side of the door. Gohin followed suit.

"It's not working right now! Set phasers to a higher level!" Louis shouted as they fumbled for the controls. The sheets of ice were now coming fast and were a mile away from sweeping them off the side of the mountain.

"Got it!" said Gohin using his strength to move the door to the side and the two quickly jumped in.

"Did you hear that?" Ensign Juno perked her head up towards the direction of the avalanche.

"Yeah, sure did." Legoshi tapped his com-badge. "Captain do you read me? Captain!" There was a brief pause until he heard a faint voice respond.

"Yes Lieutenant, I read you." replied Louis. "Doctor Gohin and I heard the avalanche and are fine."

Legoshi breathed a sigh of relief. "Captain, our signal readings have led us to what looks to be a derelict military bunker."

"I know Lieutenant. We are also in a type of military installation. If you happen to see any of these symbols or text where you are, it is possible we are in the same shelter. A bunch of pictures of ancient text appeared on his tricorder screen and the two scanned the area for them. After some time, they did manage to find text similar to the ones from Louis on the sides of the bunker and reported back to Louis soon after.

"Good," said Louis. "Now set up your tracking device and I'll set up mine. We'll meet somewhere inside and find a way to reconnect with the Cherryton".

"Understood," said Legoshi. "See you on the other side".

Both Legoshi and Juno tried to use their phasers to cut open the steel door and entered through and found themselves in a maze of hallways that emitted a low source of light.

"This is going to be one hell of a day." Legoshi thought to himself.
