It was a beautiful day on Air Temple Island. On a boat heading there were Mako, Bolin and Asami traveling to their new home, as the pro-bending arena was closed for renovations and the Sato mansion was... Well, you remember from the previous chapter.

When they arrived at the port, they saw Korra, the gang and the young airbenders welcoming them.

"You're finally here!" said Ikki excitedly as a pair of air acolytes set up the ramp. "Welcooome to Air Temple Island. Your new home."

"Yes, welcome to my domain." said Meelo pointing a thumb at himself.

"Well, aren't you sweet, little monk child." said Bolin.

Pabu hopped off the earthbender's shoulders, stepped between Meelo's legs and rejoined Naga and Spike.

"What's that fuzzy creature?" asked Meelo pointing to the fire ferret.

"That is a fire ferret. An arboreal mammal common to the bamboo forests of the central Earth Kingdom." explained Jinora.

"Wow, you sure know a lot of things, Jinora, because you know a lot of things." said Ruby impressed by how much the young airbender knew.

"Well, I've been studying a lot." said Jinora with a slight blush of embarrassment.

"He's cuuuute!" said Ikki before chasing after Pabu, who meowed like a cat before running away from the middle sister, as Meelo soared with airbending and landed on Naga's neck.

"Yip yip! Fly sky bison! Fly!" said Meelo tugging on the polar bear dog's ears.

"If he dares to do that to me too, I'll bury him." said Cera not liking the little brother's childish attitude.

"I don't know, it reminds me a bit of how the twins usually acted." said Ducky remembering her friend's little nephews.

"That's what worries me." said Cera.

"Thanks for sending the Air Acolytes to help us with the move." said Mako.

"Yes, they've been amazing. Such tireless workers." said Asami as a pair of air acolytes carried a bunch of suitcases belonging to the engineer.

"Oh, I thought you were only bringing a few things." said Korra surprised at the amount of stuff they were bringing.

"Trust me, it could've been worse." said Mako.

"Relax. If there's one thing we know about this island, it's that everyone will make you feel welcome." said Littlefoot.

"Yes, we were treated very well when we first came to the island." said Chomper.

Soon after, the group arrived at the entrance of the temple.

It was then, when Asami noticed that Meelo was looking at her with a strange smile.

"You're pretty, can I have some of your hair?" asked Meelo making a 'give it to me' gesture with his hand.

Asami arched an eyebrow at the young airbender's request.

"Looks like I have some competition." said Mako with an amused smile.

"And now for the grand tour." said Ikki stopping the group for a brief introduction of the temple. "The flying bison sleep in those caves down there. And that's the temple Grandpa Aang built. And that's the greenhouse where we grow the vegetables we eat." said Ikki giving them a big toothy grin.

"I have a couple of questions. Is this an all-vegetarian island? Is that where you train airbending? Do we have to wear Air Acolyte clothes? Do we each get our own sky bison? And final question, how many trees are on this island?" asked Bolin.

"Yes. Yes. No. No. 10,552." said Ikki answering all the questions, to the surprise of the newcomers, even the gang.

"Me not know whether surprised or scared." commented Petrie.

"So, where are we going to be staying?" asked Mako.

"You're a boy. Boys have to stay on the boys' side." said Meelo.

"And where do they sleep?" asked Asami pointing to the gang.

"Since they are a special case, we let them sleep in a room near Korra." said Ikki.

"I'd be happy to show you to the men's dormitory." said Jinora to Mako before she and the firebender went off to the side.

"I'm a boy." commented Bolin following them.

"Meelo, why don't you go with the boys too?" asked Korra.

"We shall meet again soon, beautiful woman." said Meelo to Asami before leaving to catch up with the others.

"Ikki, the kids and I will take you to your room this way." said Korra.

Later, in the building where the girl and gang dorms were located, Korra, Asami, Ikki and the gang were passing through the hallway heading towards the engineer's room.

"Asami." began Ikki catching the engineer's attention. "Did you know Korra likes...?"

The gang realized what the middle daughter was about to reveal and not wanting her to, they pounced on her, knocking her to the floor, with Ruby covering her mouth.

"She likes what?" asked Asami confused, except for Korra who was horrified, as she also knew what Ikki was about to say.

"Uh... Your hair. Korra likes your hair." said Cera saying the first thing she thought of.

"What?" asked both Asami and Korra, the former out of confusion and the other out of disbelief.

"Yep, yep, yep. She told us one day." said Ducky.

"Is that true?" asked Asami turning to look at the Avatar who was nervous about the awkward situation.

"Well... Yes. I mean, you have it long, down, beautiful and well-groomed and I just have it like this. You're probably the envy of a lot of girls." said Korra with a nervous smile.

"Wow, thanks. I make sure to take very good care of it. And if I'm being honest, I like your hair too. Sometimes I wish it was that original. No offense." said Asami.

"Oh, t-thanks. No offense taken." said Korra blushing at the engineer's compliment. "Anyway, your room is this way." said Korra leading her friend to her room.

Once they were far enough away, the gang released the middle daughter.

"Why did you do that?" asked Ikki demanding an explanation.

"We may still not understand teenage humans, but I'm sure Korra didn't want Asami to know about that thing you were going to tell." said Littlefoot.

After that, the gang and Ikki followed the two older girls to Asami's room, though before Ikki entered, Korra slammed the doors in her face.

"Hey!" exclaimed Ikki in frustration.

"Run along, Ikki!" said Korra from inside the room, much to the young airbender's frustration.

Once she was assured of no further discomfort, she returned to the main topic.

"So, here's your room." said Korra stepping up beside the engineer and showing the room she would be staying in.

"It may not seem like much compared to where you were before, but..." began Littlefoot.

"I think it's really charming." said Asami walking over to the window. "And the best part about it, nothing here reminds me of my father. Thank you for your hospitality."

"Are you still thinking about your father?" asked Ruby.

Asami looked down with a sad expression before sitting down on the bed.

"Yes. I can't believe my father joined the Equalists. It makes me wonder if I really know him well." Asami said.

"Me understand you very well." said Petrie climbing into the bed with Ducky.

"You do?" asked Asami curiously.

Petrie nodded.

"Me once believe me uncle Pterano good, but then he do bad things." said Petrie.

"Like what?" asked Korra feeling curious about the story.

"Like kidnapping me when I found out about his plans or like trying to use a mystical stone..." began Ducky.

"Which turned out to be fake." added Cera.

"To take over the Great Valley." said Ducky.

"And where are you going with that?" asked Asami.

"That as bad as Pterano was, it turned out that deep inside he was someone good. If your father was really bad, he wouldn't have taken loving care of you like a good father. No, no, no." said Ducky.

Ducky

Everybody has a lot of good inside them

and everybody has a little bad.

Everyone is going to make you happy sometimes

and everyone is going to make you sad.

They will trip on your tail, or tromp on your toes,

or knock you in a puddle.

It is not that they mean to be mean, no, no.

They are only in a bit of a muddle.

"It's true. It's like what happened to Fire Lord Zuko." said Korra knowing the story of Avatar Aang's former friend.

"Yeah!" said Petrie agreeing, although he didn't know who Zuko was.

Petrie

Everybody want to do the right thing

only sometimes they do it all wrong.

When they think you think they really weak and little

they act like they awful big and strong.

They stomp all around, and talk real loud

but it's just pretendly.

They're sticking their beaks all up in the air.

Ducky

When they might just wanna be friendly.

The gang

No one's only black or white.

Littlefoot

We're pink,

Cera

and yellow,

Petrie

and green,

Korra

and more.

Chomper

Sometimes we're wrong.

Ruby

Sometimes we're right.

Chomper

But mostly, we're somewhere in between.

Cera

Everybody's got a little dark side to 'em.

Ducky

Everyone has got a little light.

Petrie

Someone that you care about can hurt your feelings

Littlefoot

and then he can make it all right

Cera

Maybe he's grumpy.

Maybe he'll shout.

Littlefoot

Maybe he'll fill your head full of doubt.

Ducky

But if ya turn him inside out

there is good inside.

Asami

Yeah, my father could be good inside.

Ducky

Everybody has

The gang

good inside.

Spike

G-G-G-G-Good.

The gang, Korra and Asami

Good inside.

"Hehe. I guess you are right. If my father was really bad, I wouldn't have so many good memories of him." said Asami.

"That's right. It's just that Amon used your mother's story to push him to his side." said Korra before kneeling down to be on her level and placing her hand on her. "But don't worry. We'll stop Amon and maybe then, your father can go back to the way he was before."

"I hope so." said Asami trying to believe the last thing the Avatar said before turning her gaze to the gang. "I'm sorry for not believing in you, kids. You were just worried about me. Now I know. I'll make it up for you somehow, I promise."

"You owe us nothing, Asami. That's what friends always do." said Chomper.

At that moment, someone was knocking on the door.

Believing it was a certain someone, Korra stood up with an angry expression.

"Ikki! I swear if you don't leave us alone, I'm gonna..." said Korra just as the knocker opened the door, revealing himself to be Tenzin, causing Korra to freeze and blush a little. "Uh, Tenzin! Come right in." said Korra before the adult airbender entered the room.

"Good day, ladies, children. Asami, welcome to the island." said Tenzin.

"Thank you for having me." said Asami bowing in thanks which Tenzin responded with another bow.

"Beifong's replacement, Saikhan, is going to be inducted as the new Chief of Police later. I think we should both be there." said Tenzin to Korra and the gang.

"I'll just say this. That guy isn't going to be half as good as Beifong." said Cera.

"For once, I agree with you, Cera." said Tenzin, to the surprise of Korra and the gang, since Tenzin doesn't usually agree with them on such things.

Later, the group was at the gates of the police station, where a group of people had gathered to witness the speech of the new police chief who had the council members, Korra, and the gang behind him along with several police officers.

"It was an honor serving under Chief Beifong for so many years and I wish her a speedy recovery. It is with great humility that I take her place as the new Chief of Police. Republic City is facing a threat like none the world has ever seen but there is one man who's been effective against Amon's revolution, Councilman Tarrlok. That is why for all matters involving the Equalists, I will report directly to him." said Saikhan, to the surprise of Tenzin, Korra and the gang. "The police department will lend any and all available resources to the councilman and his task force until we quell this insurgency."

"What is that weasel snake Tarrlok up to now?" asked Korra with her arms crossed and narrowing her suspicious gaze on the waterbender councilman.

"I don't know, but I don't think it's good." said Littlefoot suspicious of him as well.

Soon after, the people gathered in front of the police station left and Tarrlok was saying goodbye to the other departing council members.

"Tarrlok, I don't know what you did to get Chief Saikhan in your pocket but I highly doubt it was legal." said Tenzin suspicious of the waterbender councilman's actions.

"Oh, Tenzin. Always the conspiracy theorist. Did you ever consider Saikhan simply recognizes my talents and wants what is best for this city?" asked Tarrlok with his usual smile.

"Hmmh." expressed Tenzin still not trusting his words.

Just then, Korra and the gang approached them.

"Well, Avatar Korra. Long time, no see. Now that your little pro-bending distractions are over, I look forward to your return to my task force." said Tarrlok.

"Ha!" expressed Korra crossing her arms with a frown. "Forget it! There's no way I'm rejoining your vanity project." said Korra completely rejecting the waterbender councilman's offer.

"That is unfortunate to hear, but I'm sure you'll come to your senses as you have in the past." said Tarrlok.

"Then sit tight." said Cera.

"Tenzin was right about you. You just want to use Korra to your advantage." said Littlefoot.

"Just like you did with Beifong and just like you're doing now with the new chief." said Chomper.

"Well, I got news for you. You need me, but I don't need you. I'm the Avatar." said Korra standing in front of the waterbender councilman.

"You're not, in fact, the Avatar. You are merely a half-baked Avatar in training, which reminds me, how is your airbending going? Made any significant progress with that?" asked Tarrlok giving Korra a low blow, causing her to lower her head in sadness and frustration.

"Hey, leave her alone! She's trying so hard. Yep, yep, yep." said Ducky.

Spike nodded his head in agreement.

"She has Tenzin, who is a good teacher and with a good teacher like Tenzin, she will succeed." said Ruby.

"Me have faith in Korra. She will airbend." said Petrie.

"For us, she will be always the Avatar." said Littlefoot.

That got Korra to raise her head with a smile at the support of her friends.

"Whatever you say. If you will not be part of my task force, then you had best stay out of my way." said Tarrlok walking away.

Korra gritted her teeth in anger at the waterbender councilman.

"Are you sure I can't hit him? Because I'm having a hard time restraining myself." said Cera snorting through her nose in frustration.

"As much as I'd like to, no." said Korra lowering her head again.

Later, the group was on the back of Oogi who was flying over the city. Despite the gang's support, Korra was still thinking about what Tarrlok said.

"I don't understand what's wrong with me. I've memorized nearly all of the practice forms, but I still can't produce a single measly puff of air! I'm a failure." said Korra.

"You're not a failure. You just need to practice more." said Littlefoot trying to cheer her up.

"Sure, like I haven't done it before." said Korra sarcastically.

"You just need to work through this airbending block." said Tenzin.

"What do you mean?" asked Chomper.

"You see, Aang not only had his bending teachers, but also his past lives to call upon for guidance." said Tenzin.

"That's right, you told us that the Avatar has the ability to talk to previous Avatars." said Ducky.

"Did you ever do that?" asked Ruby.

"No, of course I haven't. I'm a spiritual failure too." said Korra.

"You may have made a connection without realizing it. Perhaps something you mistook as a dream?" said Tenzin.

"Yes. I remember that long time ago I had a sleepstory that caused my family and me to make a journey with other longnecks for a big event." said Littlefoot remembering the great migration of longnecks.

"Maybe. I had a few weird hallucinations, but I hardly even remember them." said Korra, catching Tenzin's attention.

"And did you see any of the previous Avatars in these visions?" asked Tenzin interested in what the Avatar said.

"I saw Aang. It seemed like he was in trouble." said Korra.

"What kind of trouble?" asked Cera.

"I don't know, but I know he was. What do you think it means?" asked Korra.

"Hmm, I don't know. But I urge you to meditate on these visions. I believe Aang's spirit must be trying to tell you something." said Tenzin stroking his chin in thought.

In the early evening, Korra was sitting on the edge of a cliff watching the statue of Avatar Aang, shedding a few tears.

"Korra, are you there?" asked Littlefoot from a distance, causing Korra to wipe her tears away for us to see.

Spike came out from some bushes and approached his friend and when he saw remnants of tears, he licked her face to try to cheer her up, but Korra didn't even crack a smile as she petted the spiketail.

"There you are." said Bolin as he, Mako, Asami and the rest of the gang arrived.

"Are you okay?" asked Littlefoot.

"I'm fine." said Korra lying.

"Come on, what's wrong? You can tell us." said Mako.

"How am I suppose to save this city when I can't even learn airbending? I'm the worst Avatar ever! I just feel… alone." said Korra depressed.

"No, that's nonsense! You're amazing!" said Asami.

"I agree. Yep, yep, yep. You're the most amazing person I've ever met." said Ducky.

"Besides, from what I've heard, Aang was a little kid like us when he battled the Fire Nation." said Ruby.

"And he didn't master all the elements at first." said Chomper.

"And we told you before, you're not alone. You have us." said Littlefoot.

"And me sure Aang also have friends to help him in difficult situations." said Petrie.

"Exactly. Look, the arena might be shut down but we're still a team. The new Team Avatar!" said Bolin.

"And with us, it'll be Team Avatar Dinosaur!" said Cera.

"The kids may cover you, but so will we. We can save this city. Together." asked Mako as he, Bolin and Asami clasped their hands together, as did the gang.

Korra, feeling more encouraged, stood up and approached the group.

"Yeah, let's do it!" said Korra placing her hand on top of the others'.

"Yeah, let's do it! What are we doing?" said Meelo suddenly appearing on the scene.

The new Team Avatar Dinosaur laughed at that.

Soon after, they gathered at the entrance to the temple.

"Get ready, Republic City. You are about to be patrolled by Team Avatar Dinosaur." said Bolin with an excited smile.

Just then, Asami appeared, sporting a new outfit along with the electrified gauntlet.

"Asami, you always know how to accessorize your outfits." said Mako.

"I figure one way to fight Equalists is to use an Equalist weapon." said Asami.

"That's what I'd call 'fighting fire with fire'." commented Chomper.

"All right, let's ride." said Korra enthusiastically as she pounded her fist into her palm.

"So how we go around town?" asked Petrie.

"Simple. We'll ride Naga." said Korra pointing to her animal guide.

"Naga away!" shouted Bolin climbing onto Naga's back along with the other humans, but the polar bear dog jerked a little before leaning forward, causing them all to fall off.

"We need a bigger animal." said Ruby.

"More like we need a better way to travel." said Ducky.

"Can you think of anything?" asked Littlefoot.

"I think I have the answer." said Asami with a small smile.

Team Avatar Dinosaur went to a garage from which Asami emerged driving a black satomobile.

"You think this'll do?" asked Asami.

The rest of the team smiled before getting into the vehicle. With Mako sitting in the passenger seat and the others, in the back, which was big enough for everyone.

"I like the new Team Avatar Dinosaur's style." said Mako before Asami started the vehicle.

Later, the Team Avatar Dinosaur vehicle could be seen cruising the city streets waiting for any crime or news about it, but so far they saw nothing, even as Petrie flew over the vehicle for aerial visibility.

"Unit two sixteen, cancel that ten fifty-eight at Harmony Tower. Come back to the station, over." sounded from the vehicle's radio.

"What was that?" asked Littlefoot curiously.

"My dad had police scanners installed in all of his cars. I guess now I know why." said Asami.

"That means we'll be able to hear everything that goes on in the police." said Chomper.

"It's not good to listen to other people's conversations, but listening to these other people's conversations can be good." said Ruby.

"Calling all units, Level Four Alert. Jailbreak at headquarters. Officers down, electrocuted. Chi blockers and Equalist convicts are still at large armed and dangerous. Last seen heading east. I repeat, Level Four Alert. Equalist jailbreak!" sounded from the radio, which worried the team.

Just as they approached an intersection, they were forced to come to a violent stop as a group of bikers passed through the street perpendicular to them, surrounding a van.

"Chi blockers!" shouted Bolin as he identified the group.

"That's them!" said Mako.

"Let's get 'em!" said Korra pointing in the direction they were going.

"Petrie, fly high and follow them in case we lose sight of them!" said Littlefoot.

"Count me in!" said Petrie chasing the Equalists from the air as Asami started the vehicle to follow on the ground.

The Equalists continued their journey down the road, bringing a couple of vehicles to a sudden stop. Halfway down the road, they were followed by Petrie in the air and behind him, they were followed by Team Avatar Dinosaur in their vehicle, which circumvented the stopped vehicles.

Suddenly, a truck appeared and stopped in the middle of the Team Avatar Dinosaur's path.

"Korra! Bolin! Give me a ramp! Now!" said Asami quickly as the appointees stood up.

The two together caused a ramp to form from the ground, which Asami used to get the vehicle over the truck, managing to land safely on the other side as the chase continued.

"Chomper, help me with those in the back!" said Mako getting to his feet.

"Alright!" said Chomper getting to his feet.

The two of them simultaneously launched a lightning that hit and knocked down the two bikers in the back of the van.

As it turns out, since it was revealed that Chomper could throw lightnings, Mako offered to train him to be able to control it properly.

Bolin tried to shoot down another biker by throwing a series of small stones like bullets, but the biker dodged them all.

"Allow me!" said Cera before throwing her head upwards, causing a mound of earth to form underneath the biker, throwing him upwards before he landed on the side of the street.

Two of the bikers began to expel a lot of smoke to block their view.

"Petrie, we need vision!" shouted Asami as she put on goggles.

"Okay!" shouted Petrie before launching a wave of wind that neutralized the smokescreen, allowing them to see the Equalists turn to the side so quickly that they wouldn't be given time.

"Help me out! We gotta make this turn!" said Asami.

Spike reacted quickly and caused rounded ramps to form from the ground. The vehicle drove over the ramp, allowing it to successfully turn in the direction they went, even though they were still billowing smoke that completely covered them.

"They don't know we made the turn. Okay, get ready." said Asami without waiting for an answer as she flipped the gear lever and accelerated the vehicle until it slammed into the bikers, sending them flying.

Unfortunately, they landed on their feet on top of the hood of the vehicle.

Mako threw a fireball at one of the Equalist soldiers, but he dodged it before throwing a rope that wrapped around his hand. He then tried to throw another fireball at him with his free hand, but he also dodged it and wrapped another rope around his other hand.

Bolin tried to hit the other soldier, but he acted fast and hit him repeatedly in the arm, disabling him in the process. Asami grabbed him by the leg with her electrified glove, making him scream in pain before he fell unconscious.

The first Equalist soldier pulled his ropes to throw Mako out of the vehicle, but Korra and Littlefoot grabbed him and with a yank, threw the soldier over the passenger seat, which Asami took advantage of to touch him with her electrified glove to knock him down.

"Asami, put us next to them. I have an idea." said Littlefoot standing up in the passenger seat.

Trusting the longneck, Asami put the vehicle next to the driver's cab of the van.

Suddenly, Littlefoot wagged his tail before pointing it toward the driver's cab, launching a lightning in the process that knocked the driver unconscious, which caused the truck to fall on its side and slide to a stop.

The Team Avatar Dinosaur vehicle pulled up next to the van as Petrie landed, though everyone was more focused on the longneck, as they were shocked at what he had done.

"Since when can you shoot lightning too?" asked Chomper.

"Hehe. Let's just say I've been watching your training with Mako and decided to secretly include myself. I haven't made it so far though. That was my first time and I didn't expect to make it." said Littlefoot.

"Still, I'm proud of you." said Korra petting the longneck's head.

Soon after, the Team Avatar Dinosaur was standing with the escaped prisoners and the Equalist soldiers in front of them, in front of a group of photographers taking pictures of them.

Just then, a couple of police vehicles arrived. Tarrlok got out of one of them and didn't look happy, though Korra smiled when she saw the expression on his face.

"Avatar Korra, what do you think you are doing?" asked Tarrlok angrily.

"Oh, hey Tarrlok. Nice of you to show up finally. Here, we captured the escaped convicts for you." said Korra with a victorious smile.

"What you did was tear up the city and impede the real authorities in their pursuit of these criminals." said Tarrlok.

Korra arched an eyebrow in doubt.

"Hmm, that's funny. I didn't see your little task force or the cops the whole time. If it wasn't for Team Avatar Dinosaur, they would've gotten away." said Korra.

"This is your last warning. Stay out of my way!" said Tarrlok in a threatening tone before leaving with the police who had caught everyone captured by team Dinosaur Avatar.

When they got far enough away, Korra turned to her friends with a smile.

"You know? You were right. If it weren't for you I never would have accomplished any of this." said Korra.

"That's what friends are for, right?" asked Littlefoot with a smile.

The members of Team Avatar Dinosaur smiled at each other.

The next morning, a city council meeting was being held, with Tarrlok standing in front of everyone.

"Republic City stands as a beacon of freedom, but the Equalists are using that freedom to tear it down. The law I have proposed would make it illegal for anyone to be a member of the Equalists or even be associated with them. It also puts into effect a curfew, ensuring all non-benders are in their own homes by nightfall." said Tarrlok.

"This is going too far, Tarrlok! You can't punish all non-benders for the actions of a few!" said Tenzin standing up, indignant at the new law he was proposing.

"That kind of cowardice will cause our city to fall into Amon's hands. We must pass this law. All in favor?" said Tarrlok.

Unfortunately for Tenzin, the rest of the council members voted in favor of Tarrlok's new law, while Tarrlok smiled at his victory.

Later that night, Team Avatar Dinosaur was having a snack by the vehicle while resting from their night patrol.

"All available units, please respond to the fifty-six hundred block of Dragon Flats borough. Equalists have taken to the streets, consider them armed and dangerous. Proceed with caution." blared from the vehicle radio.

Wasting no time, they set off.

"I call front!" said Bolin sitting in the passenger seat while Asami sat in the driver's seat.

"I'm calling too!" said Ducky sitting on Bolin.

"After you." said Mako letting the Avatar go first.

"What a gentleman, thanks!" said Korra sitting in the back next to Mako with the rest of the gang on either side of them.

The Avatar and the firebender shared a smile which was seen by Asami from the rear-view mirror and she frowned as she was beginning to suspect there was something going on between them.

"Get ready, Equalists! Because here we come!" said Cera.

Putting that issue aside, Asami started the satomobile and drove it in the direction of the place mentioned on the radio.

But then, when they reached the area of the city where that place was, they saw a completely dark area, with no lights illuminating the streets, neither from streetlamps nor from inside the buildings. The only lights there were from the police blimps that were flying in the air.

"Why is the power out?" asked Korra.

"And where is everyone?" asked Littlefoot.

"It's kind of scary." said Chomper.

It was then, when they stopped and as they got out of the vehicle they saw something that left them horrified.

In a square, the police had cordoned off an area where there were a bunch of non-benders demonstrating about something.

"Me not see any Equalists." said Petrie flying a little higher to get a better look.

"And didn't they say on the radio that the people were armed and dangerous? Because I don't see that these people are armed and dangerous." said Ruby.

"Sure doesn't look that way." said Korra confused by the situation.

Suddenly their gaze was directed to the roof of a police vehicle where Saikhan was standing with a megaphone system.

"All non-benders, return to your homes immediately." said Saikhan.

"Yeah, as soon as you turn our power back on." said a non-bender who received the support of all present.

"Disperse, or you will all be arrested." said Saikhan.

"You benders can't treat us this way!" exclaimed a female non-bender angrily.

"Mommy, look! It's the Avatar!" said the woman's daughter.

Korra and her friends approached the police barricade, as did some non-benders, but the policemen prevented them from advancing any further.

"Please, help us! You're our Avatar, too!" said the non-bender woman.

Korra stared at all the non-benders begging for help with their eyes. Not being able to stand it, she pushed a couple of policemen aside as she moved closer to the crowd.

"Everyone, please stay calm. I'm gonna put a stop to this." said Korra before leaving with the rest of the team to go talk to whoever was responsible for that.

And to their not-so-surprise, the person responsible was Tarrlok, who was standing near a tent talking to a policeman.

"Tarrlok." said Korra catching the waterbender councilman's attention. "You need to turn the power back on and leave these people alone."

"Avatar Korra, you and your playmates have no business here." said Tarrlok.

"But you have no right to treat these innocent people as if they were criminals." said Littlefoot.

"This is an Equalist rally. There is nothing innocent about it." said Tarrlok pointing to the crowd.

"They're not Equalists, they're just normal people who want their rights back." said Asami defending the non-benders.

"Just because a few non-benders are Equalists, doesn't mean they all are!" said Chomper tending to his own experience in such cases.

"They are the enemy!" expressed Tarrlok before turning his gaze to the policemen. "Round up all these Equalists!"

The policemen advanced a couple of steps and used metalbending to manipulate the fences. People began to panic as the fences began to surround them in groups like a rope. Then they used earthbending to raise the ground on which the restrained people were standing.

This caused the people who weren't restrained to run in panic.

A couple of policemen opened the van with the intention of locking up the detainees, much to the horror of Team Avatar Dinosaur.

"I can't take it anymore!" shouted Cera not holding on any longer and using earthbending to lower the floating platforms, something that the restrained people took advantage of to escape, much to Tarrlok's anger.

Suddenly, Tarrlok turned his gaze to Asami and threw a water whip at her, which became entangled in her left wrist, to the engineer's surprise.

"Hey! Let me go!" demanded Asami trying to free herself from the water rope.

"You're under arrest!" said Tarrlok.

"What?" asked Mako in surprise.

"You can't do that!" said Ruby.

"Actually, I can." said Tarrlok pulling Asami to him before a couple of cops grabbed her. "She's a non-bender out past curfew and her father is a known Equalist conspirator."

"But that doesn't mean she's bad!" said Ducky.

"You fight bad guys, but now you bad guy!" said Petrie.

Spike let out an angry growl at the waterbender councilman.

"Let her go!" demanded Mako very pissed off.

"Arrest him and his brother!" said Tarrlok before metal ropes wrapped around the two brothers, preventing them from using their arms.

"Tarrlok!" shouted Korra lifting two large rocks.

Littlefoot generated a flame on the tip of his tail, as did Chomper on both of his hands. Cera and Spike lifted large chunks of the ground. Ducky and Ruby readied their water whip and Petrie created a mini air sphere.

The eight got into a fighting stance in front of the waterbender councilman.

"Unless you want to join your friends in prison, I suggest you put those down and go back to the Air Temple." said Tarrlok.

"Guys, listen to him. It's not worth it." said Mako.

In view of the situation, Korra and the gang had no choice but to surrender.

Tarrlok smiled at their victory, but then...

"Arrest those creatures too!" said Tarrlok.

Before the gang could react to that, metal ropes wrapped around them, preventing them from moving or using their bending powers and dragged them into a police vehicle.

"What? What does that mean?!" said Korra demanding answers.

"From the first moment I saw them use their powers I've been curious how they are capable of such a thing without being human. Besides, we don't quite know what they can do, so for the safety of the city, we'll take them into custody." said Tarrlok with his typical smile.

"They are just children, and are my responsibility! Release them right now!" said Korra covering her fist with fire threatening to strike the waterbender councilman.

"Or what?" asked Tarrlok with a grin, knowing what would happen if the Avatar hit him.

"Korra, don't do it!" said Littlefoot managing to get Korra to put out the fire in her fist before turning her gaze to the gang being led to the police vehicle. "Don't worry about us!"

"Littlefoot..." said Korra.

"We'll be all right." said Bolin as he, Mako and Asami were led to the van as well.

"Don't worry, I'll call Tenzin. He can get you out." said Korra trying to reassure them.

"We trust you, Korra!" said Littlefoot before the van doors closed.

Korra was sad and disappointed with herself for seeing her friends detained.

"So sad to see your little Team Avatar Dinosaur broken up. You had a good run." said Tarrlok with his arms crossed.

"This isn't over, Tarrlok." said Korra pointing her finger with a frown.

"Oh, I believe it is. Take them away." ordered Tarrlok as the police vehicle drove off with the members of Team Avatar Dinosaur inside.

All Korra could do was lower her head in sadness and disappointment at how things had ended with her friends. Worst of all, she wasn't able to do anything without there being consequences.

Later in the evening, Tenzin could be seen walking into the police station, where Korra was talking to a clerk who was checking a list.

"Hey!" exclaimed Korra as the clerk stormed off, frustrating her so much that she pounded her fist on the desk.

"I came as fast as I could. Are your friends all right?" asked Tenzin who had stood behind Korra.

"I don't know! These knuckleheads won't tell me anything." said Korra.

"I'll take care of this." said Tenzin just as the new chief of police passed by the other side of the desk, who upon seeing them, decided to be on his way. "Saikhan." said Tenzin managing to make him stop. "A word please."

"Councilman Tenzin." said Saikhan addressing him. "I'm pretty swamped at the moment. Can this wait?"

"No, it cannot. Ten of Avatar Korra's friends were wrongly arrested tonight. I'd like you to release them immediately." said Tenzin speaking with authority.

"They're not going anywhere. They were interfering with police business." said Saikhan.

"Your so-called police business was rounding up innocent people and claiming they were Equalists. They should be released, too." said Korra.

"All Equalists suspects are being detained indefinitely. They'll be freed if and when the task force deems they are no longer a threat." said Saikhan.

"Those people are entitled to due process under the law. Even the little dinosaurs. And they are only children!" said Tenzin.

"You'll have to take that up with Councilman Tarrlok." said Saikhan.

"Oh, I plan to. At the council meeting, first thing in the morning." said Tenzin.

"You're officially the worst Chief of Police ever! Spike would be better than you and he doesn't talk!" said Korra leaning closer to Saikhan before Tenzin pushed her away from him.

"Calm down, Korra. I'll get this sorted out, we just need to be patient." said Tenzin calmly before leading Korra to the exit. Halfway there, however. "But you really are the worst! Ever! And I agree about Spike!" exclaimed Tenzin to the police chief before continuing on his way.

Back on Air Temple Island, Korra was lying on her bed with Naga nearby. Despite Tenzin's assurances that he would get her friends released, she still felt a bit guilty and frustrated that Tarrlok had her cornered and could do nothing to stop them from being taken away.

What was worse, was that the gang had been returned to being locked in a cage like before they met and this time she couldn't go there and free them without there being consequences.

"Ugh." expressed Korra slamming her fist on the bed before getting up, opening the window, and taking a look at the city.

Korra

Written in stone

every rule, every word.

Centuries old and unbending

'Stay in your place.'

'Better seen and not heard.'.

Well, now that story is ending.

Cause I,

I cannot start to crumble!

So come on and try,

try to shut me and cut me down!

I won't be silenced!

You can't keep me quiet!

Won't tremble when you try it!

All I know is I won't go speechless!

Speechless!

Let the storm in!

I cannot be broken!

No, I won't live unspoken!

Cause I know that I won't go speechless!

Try to lock me in this cage!

I won't just lay me down and die!

I will take these broken wings

and watch me burn across the sky!

Hear the echo saying I…

Won't be silenced!

Though you wanna see me tremble when you try it,

all I know is I won't go speechless!

Speechless!

Cause I'll breathe

when they try to suffocate me!

Don't you underestimate me!

Cause I know that I won't go speechless!

All I know is I won't go speechless!

Speechless!

With sheer determination, Korra made a tough decision.

Soon after, Korra, who was on Naga's back, was on her way to the town hall.

Halfway there, Korra got off Naga.

"Wait for me here, girl." said Korra before the polar bear dog nuzzled her head in concern. "Don't worry, I'll be all right." said Korra hugging her animal guide's head to calm her down before leaving for the town hall.

Inside the town hall, Tarrlok was in his office, sitting behind his desk with a waterfall of water behind him and the council messenger beside him, filling out some reports.

Suddenly, the window opened, causing a breeze of air to blow the papers off the desk. The two present turned their gaze there to see the Avatar.

"You and I need to talk." said Korra before entering the office and walking slightly towards him.

"Are any of the other council members here?" asked Tarrlok to the messenger.

"I believe everyone has gone home for the night." said the messenger.

"Then you should do the same." said Tarrlok.

"Are you sure, sir?" asked the messenger a little nervously and hesitantly.

"Leave us." said Tarrlok before the messenger bowed and left the office. "You obviously have something on your mind? Spit it out." said Tarrlok wanting to get to the point.

"Don't you see? You're doing exactly what Amon says is wrong with benders. You're using your power to oppress and intimidate people!" said Korra.

"And you don't?" asked Tarrlok surprising the Avatar a bit.

"Of… Of course not!" declared Korra with a frown at the accusation.

"Isn't that what you came here to do? Intimidate me into releasing your friends and your dinosaurs?" said Tarrlok, causing Korra to grit her teeth in anger. "See, that's what I admire about you, Korra. Your willingness to go to extremes in order to get what you want. It is a quality we both share."

"You and I are nothing alike!" declared Korra.

"Look, I'll make you a deal. You fall in line and do what I say and I'll release your friends." said Tarrlok.

"That's why you arrested them? To get to me?" asked Korra beginning to understand the waterbender councilman's intentions.

"I need your answer." said Tarrlok.

Even though it would mean the release of her friends, she knew full well that wasn't the right solution.

"No. You might be able to manipulate Chief Saikhan into following you, but it won't work on me." said Korra as Tarrlok stood up and stood with his back to her, looking at the waterfall with his arms behind his back.

"You will regret that decision." said Tarrlok.

"You need to be stopped! You're just as bad as Amon!" said Korra, causing Tarrlok's eyes to widen.

"I've tried to work with you, Korra, but you've made it impossible." said Tarrlok before quickly launching a diagonal water slash.

Korra managed to dodge it in time, though a few hairs were cut in the process before the attack hit the furniture behind her.

Korra then threw an earth wave at him that sent Tarrlok crashing into the waterfall behind him before launching two blasts of fire at him with her fists, but Tarrlok used the water from the waterfall to form a shield with which he defended himself from the attack.

When Korra parried the fire attack, Tarrlok, with a grin, threw ice chunks from the water shield, but Korra dodged them all with a back flip. Unfortunately, she ended up crashing into the wall and was forced to defend herself with her fists, but then, several chunks of ice began to cut her all over her body.

Faced with the continuous barrage of ice chunks, Korra erected a wall of earth to block them and then, with a groan of effort, caused the part of the wall behind the waterfall to turn to the side, catching Tarrlok by surprise before the wall hit him and sent him out of his office.

He almost nearly fell to the floor below, but caught hold of the bar in time.

Tarrlok looked up to see Korra in the hole he formed when he broke through the wall.

"Still think that I'm a half-baked Avatar?" asked Korra before launching an earth wave that sent the waterbender councilman down to the floor below, into the central meeting room.

Korra then jumped up and landed on the ground in a superhero pose, causing a small crater in the process and sending whatever was around her flying through the ripple.

Korra gasped a little from exhaustion before standing up and looking down at Tarrlok who was lying on the floor and looking up at her.

"What are you gonna do now? You're all out of water, pal." said Korra advancing towards Tarrlok who was backing away with a frightened expression.

Korra generated two flames in her hands and lunged towards him, but then, Tarrlok stood up, pointed his hands at him and the fire attack stopped, as did Korra.

Korra began to moan in pain as Tarrlok moved his hands, causing her to move her body as well. With a couple of movements, Tarrlok made her kneel before him.

"You're in my way Avatar, and you need to be removed." said Tarrlok already losing his patience.

Korra stared at him in utter horror as she remained paralyzed.

"You're… you're a bloodbender?" asked Korra horrified by the discovery.

"Very observant." said Tarrlok.

"It's not a full moon! How… how are you doing this?!" asked Korra remembering what she was told about the bloodbenders.

"There are a lot of things you don't know about me." Tarrlok said before using bloodbending to throw Korra into a wall, knocking her down in the process.

The last thing Korra saw before she was knocked unconscious was the blurred image of Tarrlok.

It was then that she had those visions again. In them she saw the mystery man, Sokka moaning in pain, Toph trying to attack the mystery man before she began to contract, and Aang going through the same thing.

When she regained consciousness, she found herself tied up inside a van, with Tarrlok at the back doors.

"Where are you taking me?" asked Korra.

"Somewhere no one will find you. Say goodbye to Republic City, Avatar Korra. You'll never see it again!" said Tarrlok.

Korra gritted her teeth in rage before launching a blast of fire out of her mouth with a roar, but Tarrlok shut the doors in time.

"You can't do this!" said Korra before she felt the vehicle start. "Let me out! Garh!" shouted Korra as Tarrlok drove the vehicle to who knows where.
