Of course, Lena did 'do great.' In fact, she nailed every line, only having to do three takes because her coworkers messed up the scene. Of course, her director was pissed at her for being late, but what was he going to do? This was his star. Without her, the show had nothing. And at least Lena was polite about it. She wasn't a snob like some celebrities who abused their power and privilege, which her director did appreciate.

As soon as they wrapped for the day, Lena texted Kara to tell her to get ready to go because she was on the way. By that time, Kara had finished her homework and already had a small bag packed.

"Hey, Kar?" Alex asked, noticing her sister staring out the window of the front door.

"Huh? Oh. Hi."

"Are you guys okay now?"

Kara nodded, explaining, "I think I overreacted. I should've known it was a publicity stunt, but I wrongly assumed she was cheating. I told her that it's still not okay, and she was receptive to that and agreed not to do anything like that again. She's picking me up tonight."

Alex smiled slightly and asked, "Hey, wait… Isn't it kinda late? Does Mom know?"

"Ummm…"

"Kara! You're gonna get in trouble!"

"Not if you keep your big mouth shut and don't tell her! I'll be in school tomorrow. Promise. Please, Alex… Don't tell."

"You shouldn't sneak around like this. I'm sure she'd be okay with it if you just told her."

"That's not it."

"What is it then?"

"I don't want her to worry about Lena's mom, you know? Lena's mom doesn't support us at all."

"Oh," Alex said, suddenly understanding. "She doesn't approve, because you're dirt poor."

Sighing, Kara nodded and replied, "Something like that."

"Alright, fine. But stay out of trouble, okay? Cause no one in this family has the money to bail you out of jail."

"Why would I—"

"Your girl's here."

Kara's head whipped around to look out the window, and as soon as she saw Lena's Lambo, she grinned.

"Bye, Alex!"

Rolling her eyes, Alex turned and ascended the stairs to turn in for the night as her sister snuck out the front door.

As soon as Kara was seated beside her, Lena leaned in and kissed the blonde's lips.

"Hey, babe," the brunette greeted her.

"Hi, gorgeous."

"How was your day?"

"It was long," Kara laughed. "I missed you."

"Missed you, too, darling. Let's get home and crash. I think we're both tired."

When Kara nodded, Lena pulled away from the curb and headed back to her home, where she snuck the girl upstairs into her bedroom.

Laying in Lena's arms was the most comfortable Kara had ever been, and when Lena pressed her lips to her forehead, she shivered.

"You cold?" Lena asked immediately, noticing the involuntary tensing of her girlfriend's muscles. When Kara shook her head and blushed, Lena added, "Did that feel good, baby?"

Nodding, the blonde buried her face in her partner's neck. This didn't last long, though, because Lena hated when Kara hid from embarrassment like that. She wanted to see the blush. The expression of shyness. It was adorable. And… exceptionally attractive. So Lena lifted Kara's chin and kissed her lips slowly. They continued to kiss for longer than Kara could measure, until both their hearts were racing and thoughts outside of just kissing were flying through their heads.

"We should stop," Lena finally breathed, trying to regain her composure as she found that her hands had slid down Kara's sides all the way down to her hips.

"But—" Kara tried, hormones erupting like explosives at Lena's fiery touch.

"Kara," Lena said, her tone suddenly firm. "We need to stop."

"Lena, it's okay. I'm—"

"I don't want it to happen like this, just… in the dark… impulsively, because we couldn't control ourselves. I want it to be special. And if you don't stop kissing me, I'm gonna rip your clothes off."

Sighing heavily as she pushed a shaking hand through her hair, Lena scooted away slightly. It wasn't enough to prevent her body from touching Kara's, but it meant that as they lay beside each other, only their arms we're brushing against each other.

"Fair enough," Kara conceded sadly, her heart starting to slow simply from the painful disappointment.

"I'm sorry."

"No, it's okay!" the blonde cried, rolling onto her side and taking Lena's hand. "It's okay. I understand, I do. I'm just… You make me so…"

"Horny?" Lena giggled, mood lightened again by Kara's shyness.

"M-Maybe…"

"Yeah, okay," the brunette chuckled, kissing Kara's cheek. "Get some sleep."

"What about the lingerie you promised me?"

Laughing, Lena pointed out, "You're barely able to stop now. You think you'll keep your shit together when you see me like that?"

Sighing, Kara agreed, "Okay, fine. You're right. But you promised! And I want a rain check."

"I promised. You'll get your lingerie, babe. It's just gotta be the right time."

"Thank you," the blonde said, kissing Lena's forehead. "I love you."

"I love you too, Kar."

"Goodnight, baby."

"Goodnight, my love."

~!~!~

In the morning, Lena brought Kara to school bright and early, before her mother woke up to find them having breakfast in their giant kitchen. When Kara moved to get out of the car, though, Lena grabbed her hand and looked into her eyes.

"This week is really busy," she started. "So I don't think I can hang much. But you're definitely coming with me this weekend."

"Oh, come on," Kara laughed. "You weren't serious."

"Of course I was!" Lena cried, offended by the suggestion that she had been untruthful.

"Your mom will find out. Pictures will be everywhere. You can't be seen with me, Lena. It's—"

"Kara. I don't care, okay? You're coming. End of story."

"My mom—"

"Already said yes."

"What?!" Kara gaped. "You asked my mom?! Without telling me?!"

"Maybe."

"Did you or not?!" the blonde snapped, tugging he car door closed again as she scowled at her partner.

"Yes, I did, okay? She said, and I quote, 'As long as you take good care of her and keep her safe, I'm happy to let her have the opportunity to see the world with you.' End quote."

Mouth hanging open, Kara stared at Lena, unable to speak.

"But," Lena added, "She wants you back Monday night. She doesn't want you missing more than one day of school."

"Wait we're staying all weekend?"

"What, did you think we'd go for an hour?" Lena laughed good-naturedly.

"No, I just… I'm… I dunno."

"Get to class, punk. You're gonna be late, you trouble-maker!"

Gasping as she looked at her watch, Kara nearly lept out of the car, grabbing her bag and saying, "Love you! See you Friday!"

Lena watched Kara walk all the way to the door of the school, admiring the way her hair simply glowed in the sunlight and completely ignoring the gaping stares of all the other students who had noticed her excessively expensive car. She was radiant, and Lena knew it. In fact, she was surprised that her partner hadn't been taken by someone else when they'd met. Either way, she was lucky to have the girl and did not take that fact for granted. Kara was something close to an angel. The closest Lena would ever get. So letting her go? Not an option.

Even if it made her mother furious.
