"Oh, shit," Lena groaned, upon waking up and rolling over onto her side to check her phone.

"Mmm?" Kara hummed, rubbing her eyes as Lena's voice stirred her from sleep.

"My agent has called me five times since last night, and my mother has called me seven."

"Oh, shit," Kara parroted, sitting up straight in bed as Lena typed feverishly on her phone. "What do you think they want?"

"I have an idea, but who knows these things? Let's play the voicemail and find out," the brunette sighed, tapping the third and final voicemail from her agent.

"Seriously, Lena. Who is this girl? Call me back."

"Oh, boy," Lena huffed. "This is gonna be a great phone call."

Lena's agent answered on the first ring as Lena put the call on speakerphone.

"Lena, godddammit! Do you not know how to use a phone? Where have you been? If you're hungover right now—"

"I'm not hungover!" Lena snapped. "I'm just waking up. What do you want?"

"I've been trying to call you for hours!"

"Yeah, I got that memo. Why?"

"Who's this girl you've been photographed with? The pictures are everywhere."

Playing dumb, Lena answered, "What pictures?"

"You're being an idiot. Go check social media."

"Listen, Jimmy. It's like 5 in the morning. Can't this wait?"

"Lena, it's nine-thirty in France. Roll your lazy as out of bed. Anyway, we need to know who she is. She fits the physical profile for the missing part in the new movie, and your people are dying to know if she would be an appropriate fit."

"What are you talking about?"

"The girl who plays the supporting role of your best friend in the new movie. We have no one lined up for the part. Social media is freaking out saying she'd fit perfectly, and we need to do some fan service.

"Jimmy. I…"

"Who is she, Lena?"

Looking over at Kara, whose mouth was hanging dramatically open as she stared in shock, Lena said, "Hold on a second," and muted the phone.

"What in the hell is he talking about? Do you think the pictures show us—"

"No. He would've led with that. The translation is essentially that my agent - and all of social media - thinks you look perfect for a part in my new movie that hasn't been filled yet. He wants to know who you are and if you act. And… is probably is wondering if you're the party type who will show up to the set wasted, or if you're an actual professional who keeps your shit together."

"But I'm neither of those things!" Kara cried, exasperated. "I'm just… me… And I don't act."

With a shrug, Lena offered her partner a warm smile and said, "You could."

"Do you… Do you think I should try it?"

"I mean… It'd be enough money to help your family… and you're refusing to take help from me…"

Raising an eyebrow, Kara noted mentally that Lena was right, and that any money she had coming in would be a great help.

"Okay. Well… I mean… When you put it that way… Why not?"

With a sigh, the brunette confessed, "Because this lifestyle is really high pressure… and even though it's a small role… if people are already freaking out about you in a good way… I worry about you being in the spotlight and having to deal with… you know… being an actor. I know you could do it and that you'd be fine. I just… don't want to put you through anything that would make your life more difficult. It's hard enough for us to keep everything on the D.L. Now. Just imagine if you were in the lime light with me…"

Considering this, but motivated by the thought of supporting her family, Kara took a deep breath and replied, "Let's do it."

Biting her lip - worried but respecting Kara's decision - Lena said into the receiver, "Hey, sorry. I was just—"

"Jesus, Lena! You think I have all day to sit here while you put pants on? Who the hell is she? Does she act or not? Is she going to behave herself, unlike you, or is she going to be another diva that shows up to the set fucked up and belligerent?"

"If I tell you who she is, are you going to dig up her whole past and make it public?"

"Oh, come on, Lena. You know I have to dig up her past. It's my job. But I won't make it public. Besides… you and I both know that I can keep a secret. Remember that time you—"

Flashing a worried glance over at her partner, Lena blurted, "Yeah. I remember. Got it. Anyway, if you swear you'll keep her personal life to yourself, I'll tell you more about her. Deal?"

"What kind of skeletons are in her closet that you don't want people to find out about? Because if someone else finds out, and it goes public that way…."

"No, Jimmy. It's not like that. This girl is an angel, and she has nothing to hide. But she lives a very private life, and her family would not appreciate prying eyes or reporters showing up. Do you understand?"

"Yeah, yeah. I got it, Lena. Spill the beans. It sounds like she doesn't act, but she is absolutely excellentfor this role in terms of her looks. She'll fit in perfectly. So, tell me she can do this, because I'm desperate here."

Breathing deeply, Lena looked over at Kara again, feeling a pang of nervousness as she realized just how much this could change her partner's life.

"Yeah, she can do it."

"Is she—"

"Like I said, Jimmy. The girl's an angel."

"Okay… So… Nothing like you. Got it," the agent said, letting out a snarky laugh. "Anyway, who is she? Like, where's she from?"

"All you need to know that you won't find out from sleuthing is that she doesn't have a lot of money and she comes from a very humble background. She's sweet and modest and will be extremely - as you put it - 'well-behaved.' She won't get you into trouble. I can promise you that."

"So… Safe to say she doesn't act?"

"Yeah, but don't worry about that. I'll teach her everything she needs to know."

Letting out a sigh of relief, Jimmy replied, "Good. She'll learn from the best. You might be an impossible, trouble-making diva, but you know your shit. She'll have a good teacher."

"Wow, Jimmy… That's…" the celebrity started to say. "That's really nice of you to say. The second part, anyway."

Jimmy laughed at this, saying, "You know it's all true."

"Yeah, fair enough. I have gotten you into some hot water, haven't I?"

"You sure have. Now, go get her ready, and I'll see you tomorrow?"

"No. I'm gonna need the day to recover from jet lag. I'll be on set Tuesday. But listen, Jimmy… She's in school. So… No filming, press, or responsibilities during school hours. She takes her studies very seriously. She'll have to join us after classes."

"Fine, fine. What's her name?"

Again, Lena felt a jolt of nervousness and apprehensiveness. The last thing she wanted was to change or even ruin Kara's life, and she knew all too well how fame could change a person's whole world. But this was Kara's decision, and she had to respect that. It wasn't her place to make decisions on her partner's behalf… even if she was anxious about Kara's choice or disagreed with it. Still, she knew Kara could handle herself and would be entirely grace and beauty in the face of a challenge.

So, she answered, "Her name is Kara Danvers. And we're very close… so if you don't treat her like royalty… I will fucking kill you."

"Whoa, Lena… What the Hell? Since when do you even have friends?"

The word 'friends' made Lena's stomach turn. She wasn't a big fan of hiding her relationships. She'd never really had to before. But now… now the term 'friends' sounded so painfully wrong that she wanted to correct him. Knowing this was a terrible idea, she simply ignored her agent's insult and ended the conversation.

"Since none of your business. Now, piss off and let me enjoy my vacation."

Jimmy laughed, and Lena knew he was rolling his eyes as he conceded, "Alright. Stay out of trouble."

"No promises."

Lena ended the call and looked over at Kara, telling her, "I hope you're sure about this."

"I'm scared shitless, but I'm sure I need the money. I can't act for shit, but I know you'll teach me."

"Listen… Kara… If this is just about money, I can—"

"No. I'm not taking handouts, Lena. I can earn my keep, and this is an opportunity for me to do that. As long as you're supporting me and showing me the ropes, I can handle this. Besides… I like learning new skills. Acting will just be another new thing to try on."

With a small smile, glowing with admiration, the brunette replied, "I know you can handle this. I just worry it'll be a burden on you. And it will. But it's your decision, and I do support you. And I promise that I'll be right here through all of it. I'd do anything to keep you safe and happy."

"And I would die for you, Lena," Kara whispered, leaning in and pressing her lips to her partner's. "I love you."

"I love you, too, my beautiful star." Then, with a flirtatious wink, Lena added, "Now… Let's make the most of this hotel room before we have to check out at eleven."

Kara's blush made the celebrity grin as she pushed the blonde back down onto the bed and straddled her hips.

"I like your hair messy like this," Kara whispered, reaching up to ruffle her girlfriend's hair. "Sex hair is hot."

"Hey! It's not sex hair, and it's—"

"What else would you call it?" the younger girl laughed.

"I'd call it… I'd… It's… Ugh! Whatever. Anyway, you should shut up and kiss me."

"Why don't you make me, Miss Diva?"

"You're right. I am a diva. And that means… I always get what I want," Lena teased, bending over to kiss Kara's lips.

"Not with me," the blonde taunted, shoving Lena off and rolling them so that she was on top, pushing down on the celebrity's shoulders.

The force with which Kara had changed their positions made Lena's stomach flip with anticipation, and her eyes darkened with lust as she husked, "Take me, Miss Danvers."

"I want to, baby," Kara sighed, "but we've gotta get going."

Letting out a whine of protest, Lena conceded, "Yeah, alright. I guess that's true."

So the two reluctantly crawled out of the bed, packed their things, and checked out of the hotel, preparing for their trip home.
