Kara's meeting with Lena's agent and director went well. This came as no surprise to Lena, but Kara was shocked, having assumed she would've been axed as soon as they saw her. When the agent and director shook her hand at the end of their meeting over lunch, the blonde found herself grateful that she had allowed Lena to buy her a few outfits in Saint-Tropez, considering she had nothing presentable of her own prior to their trip.

"They like you," Lena told her that night, locking her phone and setting it on the nightstand as the two lay in bed.

"Are you sure? How do you know?" the star's partner asked anxiously. "Did they say anything?"

"Kara," Lena laughed. "Yes, I'm sure. My agent just texted me, 'She's perfect.' And, as a side note, you need to build that confidence, hun. You can't be walking in shy. The air of confidence is what will command the attention of those around you. Fake it 'til you make it."

"They think I'm perfect?" Kara asked dumbly, ignoring the rest of Lena's advice.

"Yes, Kara. You're perfect. Don't let it go to your head, goober."

Blushing, the blonde nodded and mumbled, "Sorry."

"I'm just teasing, hun. I know you're not the kind of person to let anything inflate your ego. I'm just hoping this can at least improve your self-esteem a little. And like I said, confidence is fake it 'til you make it."

"Yeah… Anyway. I'm nervous."

"Aww, babe. You're gonna do great. And I'll be right there to coach you along. Don't sweat it."

The blonde nodded shortly and leaned back against the pillow, closing her eyes.

"Hey, Kara?" Lena whispered, when she heard the girl's breathing start to slow.

"Mm… Yeah?"

"You're… You're not gonna fall for anyone on set and get over me, are you?"

Eyes snapping open, Kara sat up and stared at her partner.

"You're kidding me, right?"

"I mean… That's just kind what happens. Co-stars just… kinda… do that."

"Well, I'm not into publicity stunts," the blonde shot back bitterly.

"Hey! Come on. Don't throw that in my face. And that wasn't what I meant. I meant… really falling for someone."

"Lena. I have fallen for someone. You. Nothing and no one are going to change that."

"How do you know?"

With a sigh, Kara pushed a frustrated hand through her hair and told the girl, "Because you're the best thing that's ever happened to me."

Lena stared for a while before replying.

"Really?"

"Yes, really. I thought that was obvious. Go to sleep."

"You go to sleep," the older girl huffed. "You're the one who has school in the morning."

"Hush."

"Whatever," Lena pouted.

"You need sleep, too," Kara whispered, stroking her girlfriend's cheek.

"But, I don't want sleep… I want…"

"Want what?"

"I want to fuck you."

Eyes opening again in surprise at Lena's bluntness, Kara looked over at her and said, "Sweetie… You were right. I have school in the morning. And honestly, I'm exhausted. I'm sorry."

Lena gave a curt nod and cuddled up to her partner, resting her head on Kara's breast.

"I love you," she whispered.

When Kara said it back, Lena smiled and allowed her fatigue to take over, lulling her into a deep, comfortable sleep in her partner's arms.

Lena picked Kara up after school the next day to bring her to the studio. When she handed Kara her badge that would allow her to get through security, the girl's eyes went wide.

"Wow," she breathed. "For me?"

"It's got your name on it, doesn't it?" the celebrity laughed, kissing her lover's cheek.

"I… I guess it does."

"Now, be on your best behavior, and just follow my lead."

"Got it," Kara assured her.

The blonde's heart raced all the way to the studio doors, and once she stepped inside to view the set, she felt it might explode. Luckily, it didn't, and the director waved at her with a warm, welcoming smile, which eased her nerves slightly.

Small role, she reminded herself. Nothing major. Just a few lines.

But that didn't stop her from nearly getting sick right before the first take.

Lena watched Kara's expressions carefully, mentoring and advising her briefly between the first two takes, to gauge her nerves. She could tell Kara was nervous, but she also knew no one else would know her well enough to see it. It wouldn't show through on screen. It was just the little twitches of her hands that only Lena would notice. But before she could check in with her co-worker after the second take, the director shouted and startled them both, causing their heads to whip around in his direction.

"Got it!" he'd cried.

Kara blushed and looked apprehensive, asking, "Really?"

Lena was grinning. Two takes was unheard of. But they'd nailed it. Kara had needed minimal instruction after the first take, so it wasn't that much of a surprise that they got the scene so fast, but it was interesting that the director, who was usually quite picky, was satisfied so early on. Kara had done excellently.

They wrapped up the scenes for the episode that day - also unheard of - and they celebrated by going to a fancy restaurant in the city, which made Kara incredibly uncomfortable. Still, Lena loved the establishment they went to, so it wasn't really up for discussion. Kara had a very hard time telling her girlfriend 'no.'

So they ate dinner, chatting over the excitement of the day, with Lena giving praise where it was rightfully due and showering Kara with affection, which she really didn't mind.

The episode aired, and the ratings came in. 'Through the roof,' the producers had told them. 'She's perfect.'

Kara had blushed in that moment, not understanding how her supporting role could've made so much of a difference.

"Well, I just-" she tried to protest, wiggling awkwardly in place as she wrung her hands.

"She just single-handedly saved your fucking show," Lena cut in.

Up until that point, the show had - to be perfectly frank - been carried exclusively by Lena's performance in the leading role. People loved the show because of her, but generally bitched about the writing, plot, and overall vibe of the show.

Now that Kara was on set, things had changed. Even in one episode, their ratings had sky-rocketed. Still, Kara wasn't so sure she had anything to do with it. So when Lena told the team that it was her doing, she shook her head in disbelief.

"You're going to give her a raise," Lena pressed, looking serious as she took a daring step closer to the crew.

"Of course we are," the director laughed, confusing Lena immensely. "She's going to be a regular.. And she's getting a bigger role. We made some changes to the script."

The director held out two printed scripts, one for each girl, for the episode

Lena scowled, telling them, "I haven't read this. This didn't go through my agent. And I definitely didn't approve any changes."

"Well, unless you're scared of a bolder angle…"

"Of course I'm not!" Lena shouted. "You assholes can shove this script up your tiny dangling shafts for all I care. If I don't get respect around here, I'll walk off this fucking set."

Kara's eyes went wide. She'd never seen Lena so vicious before… and it was kind of scary. But she said nothing, simply watching in disbelief as she gripped her copy of the script without opening it.

"Would you just read the damn thing?" the director snapped. "You might even like it. Unless you're a coward. Then, you can walk off set."

Shooting the crew a death glare, Lena tore open the packet and skimmed it rapidly. By page 15, her eyes were impossibly wide.

"Are you serious?"

"Sure we are. It's what the fans want."

"The network approved this?"

"We may have thrown some weight around. And some ratings. Anyway, Miss Diva, are you doing it or not?"

"Read this," Lena said, passing the script to Kara, as she was opened to the page in question.

Kara skimmed quickly, her own eyes widening at what she read.

"You okay with that?" the brunette asked her, brow furrowing with a look of concern.

Taking in a slow breath, Kara nodded a few times before handing Lena's copy back to her.

"If you are," she clarified.

"I mean… I'm not a coward," Lena said firmly, eyes snapping over to the director who had just taunted her so manipulatively.

"Good," he said with a smirk. "I was hoping you'd say that. This is gonna be a crowd-pleaser, people. The chemistry is there."

Then, Lena's eyes glanced over at Kara, whose face was redder than a firetruck.

So they shot the scenes and hoped for the best.

Needless to say, they got these ones on the first take.
