AN: This is just a piece of silliness. Don't expect too much from it. Hopefully it warrants a chuckle.
"And then the Lord of Nightmares, encased in the body of Lina Inverse, ascended back to Chaos. Amelia, Sylphiel, Gourry and I all chased after her, but only Gourry was able to successfully follow her into Chaos." Zelgadis read, stopping only when he noticed that Amelia was giving him the stink eye. "What?"
"Mr. Zelgadis, only you could manage to make such a thrilling moment sound so dry and boring. This is a wedding speech, not a guild report!"
"Well I've never been a best man at someone's wedding before! I'll make sure to make it sound dramatic when I read it." Zelgadis said as he wondered why he'd agreed to Amelia's suggestion of having both of them center the incident with the Giga Slave in their speeches. But she was so excited about it he just couldn't let her down by saying no.
"So what else did you write?"
Zelgadis picked up the paper, "Amelia, Sylphiel and I were pushed back to the earth. Once we regained ourselves we sat in the ruins of Sairaag and commiserated with each other about the loss of our friends. After a period of roughly thirty minutes Lina and Gourry appeared over the ruins of Sairaag, unconscious and holding each other in an embrace. And we were very happy to see them safely returned."
"Oh boy, we're going to need to work on this some." Amelia said.
"Now wait a minute! Let's hear what you've got before we start ripping my speech apart!"
"Fair enough," Amelia said with a smile as she held up her paper and cleared her throat, "Miss Lina stood before us, but she was not truly Miss Lina. She was radiating a golden light, a testament to the fact that she was inhabited by the Dark Lord of all Dark Lords, the Lord of Nightmares! We stood together united in our collective disbelief and worried about the fate of our friend as we demanded that the Lord of Nightmares tell us what had happened to her. She pointed at Gourry and delivered the tragic news that Miss Lina had sacrificed all that she was to save him and was no more. But did Mr. Gourry accept it? Not for a minute!
"Mr. Zelgadis, Miss Sylphiel and I all had magic and Mr. Gourry had none. But that did not stop him! As the Lord of Nightmares took Lina up to the heavens with her, Mr. Gourry sprouted wings and followed her…"
"When did he sprout wings!?" Zelgadis yelled.
"Well how else do you explain how he reached Chaos when the rest of us couldn't?" Amelia asked as she folded her hands together and blushed.
"But I didn't see him sprout any wings!" Zelgadis insisted, "How is that even possible?"
"Just because you couldn't see them doesn't mean that they weren't there!" she said with a smile.
"I…can't argue with such ridiculous logic." Zelgadis muttered.
Amelia smiled and flashed him the victory sign. He sighed, and then she continued, "On justice's white wings he soared into Chaos! He forced his way into the inky blackness, leaving all his possessions, his clothes, his armor, and even his treasured family heirloom, the Sword of Light, behind!
"And within the void of Chaos…"
"Did Lina ever tell you about what happened there?" Zelgadis asked.
"Of course not." Amelia said with a smile.
"Then how do you know what happened?"
"The angels of justice whisper to me in my dreams and help me to make an educated guess!"
Zelgadis smiled a little bit, "Fine, what did these angels of justice say?"
"That Miss Lina was desperate to be reunited with the man she had cast a Giga Slave for. And with the power of love and justice she forced the Lord of Nightmares out of her body, shedding her clothes and growing her own wings in the process! Desperate to see the man she had missed so terribly she flew to Mr. Gourry. And when they finally touched Chaos exploded with their love! The inky black void of Chaos was bathed in a warm, pink glow. Heavenly music dispelled the tortured sounds of the void as they locked in a firm embrace. Their lips touched, their first kiss, a passionate one that created fireworks not just in their bellies but in the world around them. And given that they were unencumbered by clothes they could enjoy the feel of being skin to skin as they merged together in a glorious, sensual union…"
"Amelia!" Zelgadis yelled, "You can't read this at Lina and Gourry's wedding!"
"Why not?" Amelia asked.
"Lina will kill you for one thing."
"Oh, perhaps I did get a bit carried away," Amelia agreed, "Miss Lina sure can be prudish about such things."
"Amelia, I wouldn't like it if people wrote stories like that about us and read them at our wedding." Zelgadis muttered.
"Our wedding?" Amelia asked with a smile.
Zelgadis smiled and kissed the crown of her head, "Just be patient awhile longer."
AN: So there's this blu-ray cover art for NEXT that, I swear, has an image of Lina and Gourry as two naked angels at the top flying towards each other. When I first saw it I was going through some sort of endorphin rush and was hyper and had thoughts of them partaking in some epic cosmic lovemaking. And for whatever reason I thought it would be a good idea to put it on the list of ideas to develop. Time passed, and as I was going to sleep I thought I should probably prune the list and take the idea off when, boom, the idea of Zel and Amelia sharing their writing with each other hit. And this is the result.
I'm still not sure if this was a good idea or not, but here it is. It's done! Enjoy.
And…it's Gourry week in Japan! I'm very excited about how the next chapter of Gunginiel Knight is turning out and I hope I can get it out in time, but there is also a lot that goes into those so…we may just have to expand Gourry week to Gourry month!
