5 Years After Kyuubi Attack -
Blue cerulean eyes blinked open by the constant beeps of alarm.
With a practised ease, his hand found a way to the alarm and with a soft click the beeping was stopped, engulfing the room in comforting darkness.
Naruto stared at the ceiling-while still lying on his bed- for a few minutes. His eyes using the sweet time to adjust to the lack of light.
A smile tugged on his lips as he blinked his eyes once and finally woke up and sat on the side of the bed and noticed the time on his alarm clock.
10:07 P.M
Perfect !
He had another night to spend !
After all, shinobi were meant to work in the darkness. He wanted to be a shinobi and he already loved nights, giving him an advantage over his peers. It was a win-win situation.
He giggled at the thought of already being ahead of his peers before his eyes noticed the clock. It was 10:20 P.M. already. He didn't want to waste his precious night !
Lightly punching his head and quickly putting his thoughts aside, he rushed to his shower, piling his clothes at the center of his moderately sized bathroom and stood on his clothes-so he won't have to wash twice- before starting his shower.
He came out of his bathroom, put on his white tee along with black shorts. His hair still being wet.
He then rushed to his bedroom, pulling the curtains, staring in awe at the full moon - through the glass windows - pouring it's light on Konoha.
He watched how the darkness of the night was washed away by the dim and sweet light of the illuminating moon. A pleasant shiver ran down his spine as he watched the scene being completely awestruck by the moon's magnificence. This was the reason why he loved nights.
Unable to control himself any further. He ran to his doorway to pick his sandals. He held his sandals in one hand and quickly returned to his bedroom before sliding the glass window and standing on the red tiles that occupied his terrace.
He got goosebumps when his bare feet touched the cold surface. A serene smile found it's way on his face as he looked at the mesmerizing scene in front of him.
All the lights were turned off - except the hokage tower - as the moonlight covered the the entire village. It looked just like a scene from fairytale.
There was complete silence aside from the occasional chirping of insects. Clean air cooled down the path as it ran down his body. He took a deep breath, inhaling the aroma from the nearby trees as his mind relaxed by the musky smell. He placed his sandals beside his feet and walked a few steps forward.
Standing a few feet away from his window, he extended his arms on both sides as if to absorb as much moonlight as possible. He closed his eyes as gentle and cool wind blew and hit against his face and hair flapping them in the process.
He stood like that for a few minutes enjoying the wonders of the nature.
After some time, he started wearing his sandals. After wearing them he went to the edge of the rooftop and looked down to measure the distance between the ground and the roof. He had seen shinobi jumping from much greater heights, he had to do it someday if he was going to be a shinobi someday, right ?
But despite everything, he was still a 5 y/o and as a result got scared easily. Rather than jumping directly, he sat on the edge - his legs in the open air. He looked down again before closing his eyes and taking few deep breaths.
After calming down, he looked down again and without thinking any further, took the leap of faith. He landed on the dirt ground and stumbled to his knees- avoiding a serious injury only because his apartment was on first floor and due to the present of dirt.
He looked around and realized he was on ground. Finally coming one step closer to becoming a shinobi !
Excitement got the better of him and he released a low 'Yay !' before realizing what he had done and quickly covered his mouth with his hands.
"Calm down Naruto... This is just the beginning. " He spoke to himself in low voice, grinning.
Quickly gathering himself, he climbed the wall surrounding the apartment and jumped on the road.
Swiftly checking the road by moving his head on left and right side, before nodding to himself in satisfaction.
"Both sides clear, taichou ! We can continue our mission." He whispered in the imaginary mic on his left ear.
He had to train to become a great shinobi. So it was a mission for him to train and he trained by running to and fro between the central park and his apartment until he was exhausted. Before trying to lift a few boulders on the river bank and finally ending his day - night - by swimming and bathing in the said river.
Well, it was training for him because it was not like he had any proper training regiment.
So, he started his said training by running along the road...
Unbeknownst to him, a person was watching him from the branch of a nearby tree as the said person's lips' corners tugged into a faint smile before returning to their usual apath form - confusing the shinobi - as he watched the kid's antics.
If one would have seen him, they would have noticed the standard ANBU uniform he was wearing along with the mask.
If one would have observed his mask closely, they would've noticed the lack of animal face on the mask, identifying them as a ROOT shinobi.
Author's Note -
So it is a plot that has been on my mind for a while. At last I have decided to write it, adding a few ideas here and there to improve the story. I don't know if i'll be able to update constantly or not or even continue writing but still you can expect atleast 2-3 more chapters and after that it would depend if this story gets a constant, even small, audience of not
That aside, I am a relatively new writer. So, I'll try my best to write as good as possible.
Finally, Please leave a review if you'd like !
See ya !
