(Ash: 15 years old; Icylyn: 15 years old)
First Gift:
Ash had reunited in his mother's living room the two friends he had living nearby to ask for advice.
"Alright guys. I have an emergency and I need lots of help" the trainer said, scaring his two friends. They tensed since it seemed like something really serious.
"It's mine and Icylyn three months anniversary, and I need help with a present" said Ash, surprising his two friends, who expected something actually serious.
"Seriously, Ash? This was the important thing you needed from us?" asked Misty, believing that it was dramatic.
"Have any of you seen Icylyn mad?! She will turn me into an ice statue if I don't give her anything!" said the trainer, actually having a good point.
"Well, you could try to give her chocolate or some clothes she liked" suggested the pokemon doctor.
"She can change her clothes magically, and she can cook anything pretty well. I doubt it would work" Ash said, still trying to think about something.
"Pefume! Any girl loves a good perfume!" Misty suggested, being sure that this would solve the problem.
"Well, any girl but Icylyn" Ash said while scratching the back of his head while, since he knew it wouldn't work and that the story was embarrassing.
Some months ago
Ash and Icylyn had just arrived in Celadon Town, since it was on the middle of the way to Pallet. While walking through it, trying to find a pokemon center or a pokemon market, the duo ended up right in front of a perfume store.
"Wow, I haven't been in this store for a while" said the trainer, talking while entering the store. The girl followed him.
"You? Wanting to buy perfume?" asked the ice witch, not believing it. Her boyfriend laughed while scratching his cheek.
"Well… no. My friends entered it, I said that I didn't like perfumes, got expelled, got banished from battling at the gym and other stuff" said the trainer, while laughing at the store.
"Wait, you were banished just for not liking perfume? That's so stupid. All of that just for a perfume out of all things?" asked Icylyn, believing the whole situation was ridiculous.
Before Ash could say anything, one of the employees of the store heard her comment, and she definitely didn't like the tone.
"Excuse me, miss, but, do you have anything against perfume?" the woman asked in a not really polite tone.
The trainer tried to make a sign to his girlfriend so that she took stopped talking so that it didn't cause problems. She gave a cold glare as an answer, showing she didn't care about the woman's reaction.
"Nothing too much against it, but, they are cheap rip-offs of potions that witches took years to craft. And the only thing that they do is making your scent slightly better for a few hours. If I want to smell well, I will just take a good bath and maybe drink a sweet scent potion, which can last days or even weeks. In my eyes, it's a waste of money" said the ice witch, answering on an also not very polite tone.
"How can you be so harsh and heartless? People put so much effort in this potions!" the woman said, clearly angry at the answer.
"Look, miss, I didn't offend those who made the perfume. I just said that I think that they are waste of time and money. It's none of my business if people want to continue doing this" said the ice witch, answering with an even more rude tone.
"In the end, Icylyn got banned from entering the store. She wanted to make a snowstorm at the store, but I stopped her" said the trainer, finishing the story.
Misty and Brock didn't know if they should laugh or be scared. They had some interactions with Icylyn before, and she did seem to be someone with short fuse in some topics.
"Well, then, why not give her something special? Something she has been wanting for quite sometime" said Brock.
Ash liked the idea, but, at first glance, he couldn't think about anything. He started to walk in circles while scratching his chin, trying to think on something.
"Oh, I know exactly what to do!" said the trainer, finally having an idea.
At the end of the day, Ash and Icylyn ended up meeting each other at a river bend, ready to exchange gifts.
"Happy anniversary, Icy!" said the trainer, giving his girlfriend a kiss. She kissed him back.
"Happy anniversary to you too, Ash" she said once they finished the kiss. Ash quickly put his hand on his pocket and started to search for the gift.
Icylyn stood confused for a few seconds, until she saw him grabbing a wrapped up package on his hand.
"Here, I wanted to give you this" he said, while handing her the gift. She carefully opened it, not sure of what it could be. The gift ended up being a cyan stone.
"Is that an… ice stone?!" asked the girl, surprised at seeing the gift.
"Yeah, I remembered that you say that they could help you use spells in more hot places, like deserts, beaches and so on. Did you like it?" asked the trainer.
"I loved it, thanks!" she answered, hugging him out of joy.
"So… and what gift you are giving me?" asked Ash, also curious to see what it was. Icylyn chuckled and snapped her fingers.
The trainer didn't see anything interesting happen, until his girlfriend pointed to his hat.
Once grabbing it, he saw that the pokeball symbol was replaced by a snowflake, and some light blues had appeared.
"I found an enchantment that turns things into infinite inventories. Since you usually forgets some things, now you can put them all inside of it. Your pokeballs, your gym badges and so on" the ice witch said, unsure if he would like it.
"That's awesome! Thanks, Icy!" he said, jumping of joy with the gift. Icylyn laughed at her boyfriend's childish nature.
"So, ready for the date?" she asked, stopping the laugh.
"You can bet!" said the trainer with the determination he usually had on his battles.
