No one really knew what to say or do. The day started out with Hiccup becoming chief, and then he was supposed to marry Astrid. However, Hiccup stopped the wedding, and outright said he wouldn't marry someone he didn't love. When asked, Hiccup proudly announced that he loved Tallon, his friend that only Stoick and Astrid knew, at the time, Hiccup was being intimate with. As the questions came in, and Astrid got mad that Hiccup wouldn't be marrying her; Tallon revealed who he really was. Toothless, the Night Fury. Now, Toothless had showed he had two other forms, the human one the Hooligans knew as Tallon then, hybrid form, where he looked human with black skin, wings, tail, and ears. In everything, an argument broke out that Hiccup needed to still sleep with a woman to provide an heir as chief, but while he had time; the others fought him with ridiculous excuses and whatever else they could throw. Hiccup figured out easily that they were trying to deter him from being with Toothless and marrying him. So Hiccup decided he had enough, and stopped everything by revealing that if they couldn't accept him and what he wanted; he would invoke self-exile and leave the Archipelago with Toothless, and Toothless's family, who had shown up unexpectedly in the middle of things. Hiccup gave them their choice; accept things, or he'd leave and now…The village had seemingly gone silent to wait for that answer, to which Hiccup directed at the other chieftains.

"You can't-!" Madguts began.

"Alright, that's enough!" Stoick boomed. "Now...This has gotten way out of hand."

"Not your place to speak, Stoick. You're not the chief anymore," Alvin reminded calmly.

"I don't need to be…Hiccup is still my son, regardless of his status of being chief. And it doesn't matter because if Hiccup leaves, guess who is chief again?" Stoick remarked. "This stops, right now." He added. "Hiccup more than offered and agreed to provide a legitimate heir to the throne to take over when the time comes, even if he does not marry a woman to obtain such. I'm sure there are plenty of willing women up for the task, and Hiccup has said that he is too as it's already been discussed between him and his lover."

"But that's not-," Dagur started.

"It doesn't matter if that is the way things are done or not. Take your situation, you were able to take over a chief being, at the time, an only child. You never had to marry, or have a child because you have your younger sister, Heather, to take over if anything happens to you. You didn't follow tradition, or the laws because there was another way to make things legal." Stoick said. "Hiccup is free to love and marry whoever he wants; be that a woman, man, or…Dragon. He can with Toothless and still give an heir, and that's all that's required…No laws are being broken, and he does have ample time to provide that heir. So back off…" He remarked. "Son, it's fine with me and everyone else. I won't lose you. I wasn't the greatest father to ya; I couldn't been better. I should have done more, been on your side. I can't turn back time, but I can try to be there for you now. So, I'll fight 'em if I must…But I am fine with whatever want to do. I just want you safe, happy, and home." He revealed.

Hiccup looked at Toothless now. "Whatever you want to do, love…I'm with you no matter what." He reassured, bringing Hiccup's hand up to kiss the back of it.

"Okay," Hiccup nodded. "I'll stay…But you all need to lay off. I'll do what I'm supposed to do, on my time and terms. You'll be well informed." He told the rest.

None of other leaders could really argue and nodded in agreement. "What now, celebrate?" Toothless inquired. "You did still become chief today." He reminded.

"I know," Hiccup replied.

"Mother, Father, Brothers, and Sister? Will you be joining us? For the celebration?" Toothless wondered to his family.

"It would be nice to catch up with you, son. And of course, our son-in-law." His mother smiled. "We'll stay."

. . .

Hiccup was so unbelievably happy of the choice he made to have his father make him chief first, and that he stood up for the love he believed in between himself and Toothless. It was a bit dramatic, but Hiccup was glad it all happened because nothing was better than everyone getting along and all together for the celebration of Hiccup becoming chief of the Hooligans. It was such a bonus that Toothless's family came too, and now, everyone was having a grand time in the village square for the party. There was food, music, and lots of talking. Hiccup and Toothless, of course, were officially together; they made their relationship happen and start as lovers or boyfriends when Hiccup had gone home to get out of those wedding clothes. Everything seems to be alright now and the night was looking promising for all. While the villagers had their conversations about how excited they were for Hiccup being chief, there was a lot of promise in him leading.

The chieftains were all gathered together at the head table; there was room for guests too. Toothless's family, and the Berk Council were seated with them too. Of course, the heirs were present too.

"You've done great, son," Stoick patted Hiccup on the bac, lightly. "Only a few hours into being chief and you've once again, got everyone getting along and having a great time. I wish I could say I'm surprised, but I'm not…" The man smiled.

"Thanks, Dad…" Hiccup smiled lightly.

"Aye, yer mother would be proud," Gobber stated. "She always wanted peace too."

"And I've always said you'd become the strongest of them all," Stoick informed.

"You…Have?" Hiccup asked, surprised.

Stoick nodded. "You were born two months early, Hiccup…Everyone, including the elder, said you wouldn't survive. You were so weak and frail…I was the only one who believed you would make it. You'd live and become the strongest of us all. And I was right," He said as Hiccup looked stunned at the confession. His father believed that. "I never hated you, Hiccup…I kept my distance because you were like your mom and I didn't want to lose you the same way. When you entered that ring three years ago, spouting off we didn't have to fight dragons…It was the spitting image of your mother. I reacted out of fear, I didn't want anything to happen to you for believing what you did…But you did what your mother hadn't. You proved what you said was true, showed everyone that we could live in peace. I've never been more proud of you than I was when I saw you show up on Dragon Island to save us."

"I knew you didn't hate me," Hiccup told him. "And I've always loved you, despite how our relationship was before…" He mentioned. "But I'm overjoyed that we have what we do now and all this came of me and Toothless sparing one another." He chuckled next as Toothless gave him a one-armed hug.

"Indeed, you changed the world." Heather agreed. "We all see that."

"We're thankful too. We can finally return home," Toothless's mother informed.

"We'll send word soon," Toothless's father nodded.

"It feels strange not to call you anything and just talk, hoping you know we're talking to you. Toothless, does…Your family have names?" Stoick inquired.

"Oh, uh…Dragons don't really use names with one another," Hiccup told his father. "So they don't have names. They're way of communicating is just talking like now, or if with a group, motioning to who they're speaking with directly."

"Ah." Stoick nodded.

"But I suppose for the sake of conversating with others beyond the pack, we should use names. Like how they gave our eldest the name of Tallon to use while human." Toothless's father mentioned. "Might be easier." He added. "What last name do you use here, son?"

"Raseri, Hiccup came up with it." Toothless replied.

"It means Fury in Norwegian. It was rather fitting since, ya know…Night Fury." Hiccup stated.

"We'll keep using that, if that's alright with you, my boy?" Toothless's dad hoped.

"Sure, go for it…But I'll keep using Toothless now that the truth is out." He shrugged.

"I'll use Alva," Toothless's little sister said first.

"Cort," The youngest informed.

"Eskil," The twin to Alva mentioned.

"Draco," Toothless's father stated.

"Ryuka," Toothless's mother smiled.

"Davin," The next older brother remarked.

"Balder," Said another voice as Toothless looked to see another male coming forward, he recognized who it was and smiled wide. "Hey, little brother…"

"Hi! Oh, my Gods, you came too?!" Toothless beamed.

"Of course I did. Finally get word on you and think I'm not coming to see you? I'm hurt you'd think I'd forget our friendship." The man, Balder, stepped forward to press his forehead to Toothless's. "Gonna introduce me to your boyfriend?"

Toothless nodded. "Hiccup, this is my best friend…Balder, as he's using in human form. We've known one another since we were hatchlings," He introduced. "Balder, this is Hiccup…Chief of Berk and my…Almost mate."

"I'm basically his older brother," Balder laughed. "I'm not part of the family, but been raised alongside Toothless and his siblings. My parents were killed shortly after my egg was laid. I survived and Toothless's mom took me in as they escaped the place we'd been attacked. I am two years older than Toothless," He explained. "And almost mate, Toothless? I'm sure you've done it enough…Just mark him next time." He added with a smile.

"The only reason I haven't yet is because we both agreed that our relationship would never work with everyone's opinions about a human and a dragon being together. We agreed to stop the intimacy when he got betrothed finally…" Toothless said.

"Didn't stop you two last night…" Astrid mumbled.

"Hush, girl," Balder informed firmly. "It was not your place to give Hiccup an ultimatum that may have risked his very life if everyone revolted in rebellion over the union between him and Toothless. He was your heir, he deserved respect. And still now as your leader." He said. "They're in love, who are you to get in the way…Or was it perhaps the desire to let power drive your reasons? Marrying Hiccup would have made you chieftess, next highest power in the village next to himself. What wonders it would do on your warrior background and image to also be a leader to the village. Only an assumption, of course…I could be wrong. But I'll take your shocked look and silence as the fact I'm right."

"Well said," Hiccup stated. "And mark me?"

"It's what dragons do when they are done mating, which is the human version of sex. And being marked means you belong to that dragon, no others will touch you. Being mated, basically dragon marriage. But what you two have done is just have sex, you aren't mated until he marks you." Davin informed.

"Marking would me biting your neck and leaving a permanent visual spot for all dragons to see. My scent would be on you and other dragons know you're mine. Furies mate for life," Toothless told him gently.

"Huh…" Hiccup shrugged.

"Ah, but you'd have to mark him as a dragon…Or, at least, hybrid state." Rose mentioned. "And it's done after intimacy is completed," She added.

"I know, Mom…" Toothless nodded.

"So then you remember mating between two males can still allow for babies?" Balder said. Toothless nodded.

"Good, then Hiccup…You should know you won't have to sleep with a woman to achieve an heir." Draco remarked calmly.

"I won't?" Hiccup's eyes widened.

"No, dear…Once you and Toothless mate, it should be fairly easy for you to carry a child or two. Your human body wouldn't let you carry more than that as dragons can," Rose smiled.

"I-I can get pregnant by Toothless?" Hiccup asked. "Did you know about this?"

"I knew it could happen with dragons, but I wasn't sure about a dragon and a human. I never said anything because of the state of things and I also didn't want to get your hopes up." Toothless chuckled. "But now we know…And it's possible."

"You got it, son," Drake nodded. "It may take a few tries because he's human, but I assure it's possible."

"And we'll need to be here for the birth; Hiccup is human…He won't be laying eggs as we do, and he's also not a female." Rose reminded her mate. "Also, it won't last the normal nine months that a human's does…Should be less, but unsure just how long until it happens."

"With the peace, we could safely return to the Archipelago…" Balder offered.

"He's got a point…Dragon Island is more than big enough for the pack, close to Berk…" Davin said.

"The pack was huge ten years ago…Have we really lost that many?" Toothless asked gently.

"Yes, sadly…It was all before the war ended, my son." Draco stated. "Don't fret. We still have a good sixty or so; including us."

"But still…" Toothless sighed.

"And we found some…Cousins of ours. Subspecies called Light Furies. They're white, blue or green eyes depending on the gender. They'll be coming with us to Dragon Island too." Ryuka informed. "Everyone will be happy to see you when you visit with your mate."

"Not mates yet…" Toothless muttered.

"Close enough," Balder laughed.

"We kind'a are, Tooth," Hiccup told him, laying his head on Toothless's shoulders. "It's just us having sex with you in hybrid form, then biting my neck." He reminded. "Had I known that, I'd have let you mark me years ago."

"I told you that I would have if not for the fact we weren't sure how things would work out for us. Also, don't think everyone would have been so accepting if any of those times, you ended up with child…" Toothless informed. "But you're right, we've been together all this time. And now that I know it's fine…I'm mating you first chance I get."

"Maybe later tonight," Hiccup told him.

"Yeah?" Toothless asked him.

"No reason to wait," Hiccup nodded.

"And the kid thing? You still want to wait on that?" Toothless wondered.

"For a bit. I'd like to settle as chief first," Hiccup stated.

He had only been made chief a few hours ago, and he wanted time to get used to all that before having any kids. It was still amazing that he and Toothless would be able to have their own, with no need for a woman. Hiccup was more in love with Toothless over all this because it meant they could have their own family together.

"Of course," Toothless replied.

"So…Would our kids be half dragons?" Hiccup looked at Toothless curiously.

"Yes, but they'll still be able to switch to hybrid and dragon form." Toothless informed.

"But won't be able to change forms until they are about six, so to be able to control the transformations and not shift at random." Ryuka added to the explanation.

"And you said you'd have to be here for the birth?" Hiccup inquired.

"Yes, you won't be able to give birth the normal way that woman do because you lack that female part on you," Balder stated. "But we can definitely cut them out."

"You mean slice open my stomach and remove the baby that way…" Hiccup asked.

"Exactly, and we'll be gentle. I promise there will be pain medicine, but you will be quite sore for several weeks afterward, so it would be my advisement that you find someone to cover the village while you're down." Ryuka mentioned.

"Dad?" Hiccup looked at him.

"You don't even have to ask, son…I'd be happy to watch over the village while you're recovering." Stoick beamed. "How will him being with child go? Will it be similar to a woman's?"

"Somewhat. He won't know when he conceives through a missed bleed cycle because he doesn't have one, but Toothless should be able to pick up on the scent in his hybrid form." Ryuka stated. "Nothing to worry about, Hiccup…I promise that I'll be close while you're pregnant, to help all I can. Even some of the other females would be willing to come by and offer advice and help."

"I'm not worried…Toothless and I have been through a lot together and we always come out just fine. As long as I have him through this, I'll be okay." Hiccup smiled and Toothless nodded.

"But the help would be welcome. You know I'm always here to love and support you, Hic, but the female help would be useful when you're pregnant." Toothless told him.

"I wasn't denying the help, Tooth…I was just saying I'm not worried or concerned." Hiccup chuckled.

"All will be fine. Balder, in the morning…Will you return to the nest and inform of the updates and the move?"

"Of course, sir." Balder nodded.

"It's not safe for him to go alone. There are still those who hunt…I'll go with him, Father." Davin offered.

"Granted." Draco nodded. "But be careful. We'll meet you on Dragon Island in a week."

"We will," Balder and Davin replied.

Hiccup was excited about everything. How could his life not be perfect right now? He didn't even need kids to be happy, but that was a requirement to being chief. And Hiccup did understand keeping it all in the family, but…The difference here is that they wouldn't still use Haddock. Or would they because Toothless technically didn't have a last name? They used Raseri for human form, but…That wasn't the official name. Toothless could take Hiccup's last name? Keep the bloodline as Haddock, but the kids would be half dragons. Hiccup was fine with that and looking forward to the future. He was now chief of the Hooligan tribe, and would be mated/married to Toothless. If that wasn't amazing, they could have kids between them! Yes, Hiccup was happy and loved everything now and whatever came in the future.
