Hong Kong Shatterdome, Hong Kong - December 21, 2024
Six Jaegers were lost. Striker Eureka and Gipsy Danger were in repairs. But Stacker has to find a new pilot for Striker Eureka because Herc Hansen broke his right arm. When he entered the medical wing, all four remaining pilots were waiting for new orders. Monarch was going to arrive in an hour with two of their own Jaegers to help with the Operation. But he needs his pilots ready. "Okay everyone, I know that last night was devastating, but we still have a job to do. At 1000 hours we will fight in a drill for Operation Pitfall. Chrome Titan and Pheonix Nomad will assist at least until we can get our own Jaegers."
"Sir, what are we going to do if we come across another Event like that?" Raleigh asked and Stacker had one answer.
"Fight until you're dead." he answered looking at Mako hoping she won't face that fate.
Hong Kong - December 21, 2024
Staff Sergeant Bailey Rogers wondered what her life has turned into. A US Marine sent to support Monarch Operations. Now she was in the Kaiju, Curse searching for a secondary brain. CO2 filled the dead body to slow down the acidic reaction for some PPDC scientist to Drift with the brain. An idiotic idea, but she was given orders so here she is. As they reached the secondary brain, her Squad found that it had damage. a chunk of it was hanging off of the main part. "This is Rogers to Davis. We found secondary brain, but it took damage."
"Copy. Get out of there." Captain Dylan Davis ordered and the squad started to leave, but as they moved through the Kaiju blood and meat, Bailey heard something.
"Aw, bitch." Newt yelled after hearing the brain took damage. He needs an intact Kaiju brain, but the battle with the Jaegers and Godzilla renders three brains unusable. He was nearly killed several times. First by almost getting eaten. Second when Gipsy Danger almost fell on him. Third when a ripped Kaiju corpse almost landed on him. But the bad news only lasted a few moments.
"We got something." the Staff Sergeant inside reported catching the attention of Newt.
"What is it?" Newt asked and there was a sound on the radio.
"Is that a heartbeat?" Captain Davis asked confused. Curse was dead dead so there should be no heartbeat. Then the realization came to Newt.
"It's pregnant." he whispered before screams came from the radio.
"Incoming!" the Captain ordered and several JLTVs turned their .50 cal machine guns to the corpse. From the slit in Curse's belly, a baby Curse the size of thirty feet burst out. It landed on a JLTV crushing it and the men inside. It turned towards Newt and charged. Newt screamed as he ran. Guns opened fire only to hit the armor plating of the baby kaiju. As he ran, Newt tripped and turned to see that the Kaiju had stopped charging and was on the ground. Davis helped Newt up with a laugh. "Dumb thing strangled itself with its own umbilical cord." Davis remarked as he stood next to the baby Kaiju. "Good news is that I think." he was cut off when the infant swallowed the officer whole. Machine guns opened fire and Newt curled into a ball screaming. When the guns were silent, Newt opened his eyes to see a dead dead Kaiju.
Hong Kong Shatterdome, Hong Kong - December 21, 2024
At 1100 hours, Raleigh and Mako walked towards their Jaeger for the drill only to be stopped by four Jaeger pilots. Raleigh guessed these were the Monarch pilots. The six of them shook hands and introduce themselves. Colonel Lucio Waters and First Lieutenant Sergio Motta were the pilots of Chrome Titan. Captain Tegan Brooks and First Lieutenant Josie Foster were Pheonix Nomad pilots. The six had some small talk before walking to their Jaegers.
"They seem nice." Mako noted and Raleigh just wondered what was going to happen. It has been five hours since a Breach. A record in recent years. He could tell the tech crews were nervous considering the last battle. He was still amazed they made it out. But he knew that it was only a matter of time until there was a Kaiju too big for any Jaeger or Titan to fight. As the two pilots enter the Drift and Gipsy Danger was operational, the intercom came on.
"Okay Rangers and Monarch. We're heading for the Mariana Trench." Stacker ordered as Striker Eureka came online. "A Breach was picked up there with three Cat Five Kaijus. At the moments they are guarding it We're going to use it for Operation Pitfall."
"Sir, who's piloting Striker Eureka with Chuck?" Raleigh asked.
"That would be me Mr. Becket." Stacker replied and Raleigh felt the worry from Mako. Thanks to the drift, he knew why. The old soldier was dying from Radiation Poisoning thanks to a failure in the old Mark One Jaegers. "Now let's cancel the Apocalypse."
Hong Kong - December 21, 2024
Gottlieb looked at the devastation the battle had on the city. He was heading for Newt to see how his coworker was doing after a close encounter with death. In Gottlieb's mind, he felt that it was his fault. His calculations predicted the Triple Event to occur in three weeks. Not within twenty four hours. They could have been better prepared and six Jaegers wouldn't be lost. When his helicopter landed, Newt was inserting a giant needle in the infant Kaiju's head between armor plates. "Newton!"
"Hermann, glad to see you, but I'm a bit busy." Newt replied as he climbed down.
"I was wrong." Gottlieb remarked as Newt showed surprise as he typed on a computer. "But the latest Triple Event should be a Quadtripple Event. Which is why I seek you."
"Want to help, then help me with the neural interface. It is off the charts." Newt replied as he grabbed a head clamp for the Drift. Gottlieb put on his glasses and typed on the computer.
"Then lets do it together." Gottlieb said and a surprised Newt turned to his coworker. "There are always two Jaeger pilots to share the neural load."
"You're serious?" Newt asked still shocked. "YOu would do that for me? Or with me?"
"Well the world is coming to an end so do I have another choice?"
"We're going to own this bad boy." Newt said as he extended his arm for a handshake.
"By Jove, we are going to do this thing for sure." Gottlieb replied as he tried to figure out how to shake Newt's hand.
Pacific Ocean - December 21, 2024
"So three Cat Fives. Any hints on fighting one?" First Lieutenant Josie Foster asked as the Jaegers dangled above the ocean from Jumphawks. Several of the Jaeger pilots chuckled.
"Cat Fives are hell to fight. You meet them, you're most likely end up dead." Colonel Lucio Waters remarked.
"Good news is that Monarch has several Aiships flying in for support as well as a surface fleet. I have several Jaegers flying in to boost our support." Stacker said in a calm voice.
"Sir, how can you be so calm when we are facing the apocalypse?" First Lieutenant Sergio Motta asked.
"Simple. We either win or we're dead. All we have to do is fight and focus on those we are fighting for." Stacker answered and Raleigh looked to Mako who was hiding her fear for her mentor. But she couldn't hide it from Raleigh. They were in the Drift. They knew what was in each other's head. Raliegh promised to do everything he can to win and it comforted Mako a little.
Hong Kong - December 21, 2024
"Ready?" Newt asked Gottlieb as he held the trigger for the Drift.
"Yes, yes," Gottlieb answered nervously.
"Okay then." Newt said. "Initiating neural handshake in three, two, one." Newt added and he pressed the trigger. They went into the Drift seeing each other's memories, then the Kaiju's memories. Newt saw the same images as before, but he soon saw something new. A frightening face. When the Drift ended, both men were on the ground. "You're okay?"
"Yes." Gottlieb answered as the two stood up. Newt handed Gottlieb a tissue and the Doctor wiped his bloody nose.
"You saw what I saw?" Gottlieb asked and Newt nodded.
"We have Stacker before it's too late."
Mariana Trench, Pacific Ocean - December 21, 2024
"Disengaging transports." a Jumphawk pilot reported as the Jagers dropped into the water.
"All ports sealed. Ready to submerge." Chuck reported as the Jaeger sunk deeper into the Pacific.
"Godzilla spotted. ETA twenty two minutes." a tech back at the Shatterdome reported.
"Copy." Stacker replied. "Sitrep on Breach."
"Three Cat Fives guarding breach. Code name Skullmantle, Deathclaw, and Misaki." Herc Hensen reported over the radio.
"What wonderful names." Lucio joked. Minutes later, the four Jaegers landed on the seafloor. The Jaeger lights turned on for visibility.
"Breach four point three miles Northeast of your position." Herc reported and the Jaegers marched through the darkness. Raleigh was nervous. This was a big operation. if they fail, Earth could die. When they reached the Drift, the pilots saw three Kaiju's circling the Breach. Each Kaiju was east five hundred feet. The breach was massive. A few thousand feet wide. Hundreds of Kaijus could swim out at any moment, killing every human on Earth.
"Chrome Titan take the left flank. Pheonix Nomad take the right. Welle surprise them. End them quick. Make this fight short. Reduce failure." Stacker ordered and the two Monarch Jaegers moved to position. "Gipsy Danger, we're going down the middle. Keep us covered."
"Yes sir." Mako replied determined to keep her mentor alive. When everyone was in position, the situation turned South. The Kaiju split up and attacked the Jaegers. Striker Eureka fired its missiles at Skullmantle. The horned Kaiju didn't stop it's attack. Gipsy Danger fired the plasma cannon at its eyes slowing it down. Chrome Titan grabbed Misaki's hammerhead like head as it pushed the Jaeger into a wall. Chrome Titan extended a large blade from under the right arm and sliced one end of the head. The Kaiju responded with another push. Boulder came crashing down, but the Kaiju kept pushing the Jaeger further into the wall. Pheonix Nomad was being pulled apart by Deathclaw's many claws. The Jaeger fired everything they had at the monster to no avail.
"Titanus Tiamat incoming." Herc reported and moments later, a large sea serpent attacked Deathclaw. The Titan wrapped its body around the Kaiju before firing acid at the Kaiju's eyes blinding it. The Serpent began to bite into the Kaiju's neck, attempting to chew it off. "Multiple Titans sighted on Radar, Sonar, everything."
"This must be big." Lucio remarked as his Jaeger sliced another end of Misaki's head. Causing it to swim back some. Chrome Titan used the opportunity to climb onto its back and fired a shoulder plasma cannon at its spine. Striker Eureka held the pinchers of Skullmantle while Gipsy Danger rugged into the Kaiju's belly. They ripped out organs while Pheonix Nomad moved to assist Striker Eureka. Moments later, Godzilla swam down and tackled Misaki. Chrome Titan moved out of the way as his back glowed blue. Godzilla's Atomic Blast made a hole through the Kaiju as Tiamat chewed off Deathclaw's head. Skullmantle fell to the seafloor after Gipsy Danger pulled out its organs.
"That was fun." Chuck remarked before the Titans turned to the breach growling.
"Sir, sir!" Newt yelled on the radio.
"What is it Newt?" Stacker asked.
"The entire mission is going to fail." Newt answered to everyone's confusion.
"Explain." Stacker ordered.
"The Breach genetically reads the Kaiju like a barcode at a supermarket and lets them pass." Gottlieb replied.
"You're going have to fool the Breach to let the bomb through." Newt added.
"How do we do that?" Raleigh asked.
"By making it think you're a Kaiju." Newt answered.
"You'll have to lock onto a Kaiju and ride the Breach." Gottlieb added as alarms went off in the Jaegers.
"Fourth signature coming through." a tech reported.
"What Cat?" Captain Tegan Brooks asked.
"Cat Five." the tech reported as a giant hand with six claws gripped the ground. A dagger life head appeared and soon a massive Kaiju appeared. The Breach remained open as the Kaiju floated above it. Tiamat swam forward and Godzilla fired his Atomic Breath. The Kaiju grabbed Tiamat and bit the Titan in half. The Atomic Breath did nothing against the Kaiju. Instead the Kaiju swam forward. The pilots watched in horror as blades extended from its hands. The Jaeger rolled to avoid the blades. Godzilla suffered a wound and Jaegers fired everything they had at the Kaiju. Nothing affected it. Godzilla climbed on its back and bite its neck. The Kaiju screamed before spikes extended from its back. Godzilla was hit badly as he floated to the seafloor. The Kaiju swung its tail sending spikes into Pheonix Nomad and Chrome Titan. Escape Pods ejected the crews out. The Kaiju grabbed Striker Eureka and saw along the trench.
"Finish the mission. I know you two can do it." Stacker ordered and both Raleigh and Mako understood. "Mako, you'll always find me in the Drift." he added and Gipsy Danger grabbed Misaki's corpse and carried it to the breach. To Raleigh's surprise, he noticed Godzilla standing up and swimming towards the Kaiju. Raleigh turned to Mako.
"We can do this." he promised.
"It was an honor sir." Chuck Hensen said to Stacker as they armed the bomb. The Kaiju bite the Jaeger crushing the hull. Water flooded the Jaeger and the two men activated the bomb. Stacker's final thought was seeing Mako alive. Chuck's final thought was knowing his father will live to fight on. The explosion took out a partition of the trench, but it gave Godzilla radiation. He absorbed the radiation helping him heal. The Titan turned back to the Breach to kill more Kaijus.
"Cat Five Breaching." a tech reported and Gipsy Danger extended the sword and swung into an emerging Kaiju's belly, cutting it in half. As the Jaeger was about to throw the Misaki into the Breach, another Kaiju emerged. This time the monster bit the Jaeger's arm ripping it off. Another second Kaiju emerged slicing its dagger head into Gipsy Danger's torso. The Jager fired a plasma blast into the Kaiju's neck before piercing it ripping the throat and several organs out. When the second was dead, Raleigh noticed they were carried off. Gipsy Danger charged forward as a third Kaiju emerge. As the Kaiju swam at the Jaeger, a Titan with multiple limbs grabbed the Kaiju and began to rip it apart. Gipsy Danger grabbed Misaki and toss it into the breach, but another Kaiju burst from the Breach sending the corpse and Jager back. The Kaiju put its leg on the Jaeger and started pressing down. Gipsy Danger fired plasma blasts at the giant, but it was pointless. There were multiple hull breaches as water flooded the Jaeger. But Godzilla tackled the Kaiju and forced its mouth open. Godzilla fired a stream of Atomic energy into the Kaiju until its head detached from the body. The body and head floated down into the Breach and Gipsy Danger dove in with an armed reactor. As they floated down into the breach, Raleigh typed in an eject command for Mako. She attempt to stop him, but she was pulled out of the breach and into an escape pod. She floated up to the surface where she would be safe. Raleigh took command of Gipsy Danger solo. When he reached the end, an organic creature open up letting both Kaiju corpse and the Jaeger through. Raleigh reattached himself from the Jaeger and rushed to the escape pod. He was rushed up to safety.
Hong Kong Shatterdome, Hong Kong - December 21, 2024
"Bridge has collapsed!" a tech yelled and the command room erupted in cheers. Herc Hensen didn't join. He could only smile. The battle was won, but the price was his son. Maz, the bulldog lay his head on Herc's foot and the man pet the dog. The war was over and no one else will have to suffer the same fate as his son.
"Well Newt, I don't think things could have been better." Gottlieb said to Newt in the cheering building.
"Yeah, it was nice working together instead of yelling at each other." Newt remarked and Gottlieb nodded in agreement.
Pacific Ocean - December 21, 2024
When Mako's escape pod reached the surface, she opened the door and waited for Raleigh. She waited in fear. She already lost Stacker, she wasn't going to lose Raleigh too. When the second pod breached the surface, Mako jumped into the water and swam to the pod. She opened it and saw Raleigh unconscious. She grabbed him and held the pilot in her arms. She didn't want to lose Raleigh too. "You're squeezing me too tight." Raleigh said and Mako let go. The two looked at each other. "I couldn't breath." he joked and Mako laughed. The war was over and they won.
Pan Pacific Defense Corps New York Museum, New York City, New York, United States - November 11, 2033
Greg Young examined the replica of the Battle of Boston with a careful eye. Godzilla and King Ghidorah were fighting for supremacy, forcing the Jaegers to battle the giant monsters. Eighteen Jagers went in, only one made it out. Gipsy Avenger. A Mark Six Jaeger with battles across the world. Fighting rogue Jaegers and Titans. Greg admired the detail the exhibit had for Gipsy Avenger. He promised himself that one day he will be in a Jaeger. Then he'll help humanity in the fight against the destructive Titans. But for now he can only admire the amazing machines and the Titans that fight side by side with humanity.
Hello for the final chapter. I hope it didn't come out too rushed and if it did then I hope you at least enjoyed the story. I had a lot of fun writing this story for my first Crossover. I hope to do some more in the near future. Anyways, I hope you are having a good day and that you are safe during these dark times. May the war in Ukraine end soon and Glory to Ukraine.
