I don't own anything! This is a closure fic for those who were looking forward to Jonathan and Tegan hooking up for season 2 of Superman & Lois. I can understand suddenly changing the plot but what I don't understand is not giving the fans some closure on the missing parts of the story so I put this little story together to put the minds of the fans that were rooting for them at ease. Because it's very clear that Tegan's not coming back again, ever.

Summer was a great time for Jonathan and his brother to just relax and have fun, for Jonathan in particular he's getting ready for football coming up and also he's got a little meeting with his new girlfriend, Tegan Wickhem in about an hour or so by her favorite place she likes to take him when they want to be alone, the water tower.

Jonathan texted Tegan letting her know that he wanted to walk out there to meet her and get some exercise even though she offered to drive him.

By the time he gets there the sun is high up in the sky the time a being around a little bit in the afternoon and there she was waiting for him on the hood of her car. When he got close enough Tegan smiled brightly jumping off of the hood of her car and quickly closing the distance, wrapping her arms around his neck and kisses him right on the lips which Jonathan happily returns.

The two of them eventually break apart for air and gaze into each other's eyes for a moment both of them as happy as can be.

"Hey, new guy!" Tegan says.

"Hey, central city!" Jonathan says back.

Jonathan sees Tegan's smile falter at the mention of her old city that she moved from three years ago from what she said to him. The two teens plant themselves on the hood of Tegan's car like they usually do when they come out here to make out, or something.

"So you texted that you have something that you wanted to tell me so I'm here, what is it?" Jonathan asks enthusiastically.

Tegan's whole demeanor, turns from confident and happy to completely hesitant and worried, maybe even sad almost.

Tegan takes a big breath, "Jonathan I wanted to tell you that…my dad was released from prison a few weeks back." She says flat out.

Jonathan looks at his girlfriend passively not really phased by the revelation. "So…your dad's out again, he's been here for over a month now and you didn't tell me this until now, why?" He asks calmly, but no less serious towards the question of why she kept it a secret from him.

Tegan brushes back a loose strand of her dark hair behind her ear, "Because, I thought that he was just going to give one of those ex-con dad apology speech's, and he did but he also said that he wants to make up for what he did and for how it affected us, that he wants to be in our lives again and all of that shit, my mom was a little skeptical at first so that's why she gave him a few weeks to see if he could prove that he wants to make amends with us and sure enough he has, and I just found out yesterday that he called in a favor and got a job offer in Bristol, but the thing is he wants us to go with him, and after a bit of talking between him and my mom that they both think that it's a good idea for us to move together so we all have a fresh start, so Jonathan what I'm trying to say is that we're moving, I'm leaving Smallville!" Tegan finally finishes regret clear in her voice and written all over her features.

Jonathan can feel his heart skip a beat, a part of him knew that something like this would happen that his life had become a roller coaster with ups and downs, things have been going good so far and now it seems that the time has come for him to come back down from his high.

Silence is all that remains for the following few moments between them. Tegan starting to look worried for him, that he's going to lash out or something.

Jonathan looks down and just nods looking back up at Tegan. "Wow! Um, so this is why you brought me out here to break up with me because your old man wants to make up for getting thrown in the slammer, right?" He asks.

Tegan quickly shakes her head in denial, "No, no, no Jonathan! I just wanted to ask if you want to see what you think about making our relationship long distance because I'm willing to fight for us, if you want to?" Tegan clarifies.

Jonathan really thought about that for a moment letting out a sigh, "Tegan, if there's one thing I've learned from my previous relationship with Eliza and my experience from moving and starting over is that as much as you want to keep the ties you have from what you had, and how much you want to fight for them, in the end you lose them sooner or later it's inevitable. When I was with Eliza back in Metropolis weee were great together, and then when dad and mom wanted to move out here I tried so hard to make it work with her but it just wasn't the same for her or me and that resulted in me getting dumped over the phone, but she didn't regret not wanting to fight for me, for us!" Jonathan says.

He then takes Tegan's hands in his own, and looks into her eyes, "But you do Tegan, and that's why I think maybe we should end this on a good note, I'm not saying that I want to give up especially after all of the shit we both went though that got us together but the truth is Tegan that I was in a bad place when I came here and lost everything back in Metropolis, and at first I did see you as a rebound for Eliza and a coping mechanism for all the other bad shit that's happened to me but you helped me get through it Tegan and I realized that I was just sitting on my ass waiting for a miracle to happen but you made me realize that I needed to get off of it and make it happen myself. And I did, I sorted things out with my family. And I got better because of their support and the help you gave me Tegan. And I want to repay that by telling you that if your dad truly wants a second chance and has earned it then he should take it and you should too!" Jonathan admits rather proudly.

Tegan is in both shock and awe of Jonathan, "Are you sure, because if you really want me to try and make this work between us, I will?" Tegan asks sincerely.

Jonathan actually chuckles, "Tegan I think it's best that we do this on our terms before we try to force this to the point where it strains on what we have until one of us breaks it off with the other, at least we're doing this because we're on the same page!" Jonathan offers.

A tear escapes Tegan's eye. It only made it that much harder to want to leave Jonathan.

Jonathan wiped her tears away with his hand, smiling up at her.

"Thank you Jonathan!" Tegan says sweetly.

Jonathan shakes his head, "No, thank you Tegan!"

They leaned in to share one more kiss with as much passion that either one of them could possibly give.

When they broke apart they both were panting quietly, catching their breaths.

They exchanged sad smiles but they were also joyful. "I'm gonna miss you, Jonathan!" Tegan says reaching her hand up to stroke the side of his face.

Jonathan laughs, "I'm gonna miss you too, Tegan, and I understand completely that family comes first, always!"

"Well then how about we spend our last day together cruising around Smallville new guy, what do you say?" Tegan asks.

Jonathan just chuckles nodding to her, "Okay, yeah sure I'd like that a lot, you know remember the Cushing's barbecue a few weeks back well the guys told me that I just can't seem to catch a win with anything, but then I saw you and I said that I wouldn't be so sure, and even though this is happening I still think I've got the win after all."

Tegan just smiles as they get off of the hood of her car and get inside and drive off down the road.

Of course Tegan moved to Bristol and she and Jonathan remained in contact for a bit to see how things were going for both of them. Summer practice for football was just about to start and Jonathan had just met this pretty cheerleader named Candice Pergande. Who knows what'll happen next?

Thanks to anyone who actually reads this, I really do wish that Kayla Heller stuck around for season 2 but everybody has their own passions and she decided to pursue modeling hopefully she enjoys it.
