Prue Piper Phoebe Andy and Angel were sitting in the kitchen of the manor talking about how someone tried to steal the book. "Prue you don't know for sure" Phoebe said taking a seat at the kitchen table where Angel and Andy were already sitting. Andy had an ice pack to his head. Piper and Phoebe were looking through drawers for the phonebook. "I know plenty. Doyle had a vision of someone trying to steal the book and then there's a demon who pretended to be Andy looking in the book while Andy was knocked out in the closet isn't that enough" Prue said. "How are you Andy. That looks like a pretty bad bump" Angel said. "I'll live" Andy said. "Why would somebody want the book? Here" Piper asked handing Prue the phonebook. Prue and Piper both sat down at the kitchen table with the other three. "Well your powers come from that book. It's very valuable in the demon community" Angel said.
"So all these demons want that book. That means it could be any demon who tried to steal that book" Andy said. "Yea pick a number. A bunch of demons are going to come after that book. Although it has been narrowed down to only demons who can shapeshift. That's still a lot but at least we know what kind of powers the demon we are dealing with has" Angel said. Prue stopped flipping through the phonebook. "I think we should talk about the possibility that it might be Victor" she said. "What? Dad" Phoebe said. Piper sighed. She didn't think it was their father and she thought Prue might just be letting her personal feelings for him cloud her judgement. "Look just think about it the moment he shows up someone makes two attempts to steal the book. Coincidence I think not" Prue said. Phoebe looked away thinking about something. "The craft is a chick thing Prue. It's passed down through the female line. There's a good chance dad doesn't even know were charmed" Piper said.
"There's just as good of a chance he does" Prue said. "Yea Piper I maybe that's why he left you guys. I mean it's a lot for a normal human to take to find out he's with a witch. Trust me I know" Andy said. He looked at Prue and she smiled at him silently thanking him for backing her up. Phoebe was just staring off into space. She was thinking about her vision from earlier of their dad stealing the book. "What would he want with the book and why would he take it from us" Piper said. "Well if he's not a demon than it's possible he could have a deal with one" Angel said. Prue and Piper just looked at each other. Piper turned to Phoebe. "Phoebe help me out here" Piper said. Phoebe just continued staring out into space. "Phoebe are you OK" Andy asked. "Yea I'm fine. OK let's just say for the sake of argument that he is after it why wouldn't he just come for it himself? Why send shapeshifters to get it" Phoebe asked.
"Maybe he figured they have powers and they would be able to take you guys on if their happened to be a fight" Angel said. "Until we find out what's going on and if Victor is involved or not we've got to hide the book. Either that or we can't leave the house" Prue said. "That's fine I'll stay here" Andy said. Prue looked at him. "You have to get back to work" she said. Andy shook his head. "I'm going to call them and tell them that I'm sic and I can't finish my shift. Someone else will pick it up. I don't feel comfortable leaving this house unprotected" he said. "What if they come back" Prue asked. "No one's going to break in while someone's in the house. I'll make sure the book is protected you guys can go have dinner with your father" Andy said. "That sounds like a plan to me. I want to see dad" Piper said. "So do I" Phoebe said. "I've already seen him" Prue said. Piper and Phoebe got up and left the kitchen. "I'm going to go and see what I can find out about these shapeshifters" Angel said.
Angel came back to the office through the sewers. He took off his leather jacket and threw it on the couch. "Cordy Doyle" he called and there was no answer. He walked into the elevator and went up to the office. When the elevator reached upstairs he got out of it. He looked around his office and didn't see Cordelia or Doyle. He looked at his desk and saw that Cordelia had put the cards she had made on his desk. Angel heard Cordelia and Doyle talking in the outer office so he walked out there. "Angel your back" Cordelia said standing up and giving him a kiss. "How did it go man" Doyle asked. "Well the demon didn't get the book. We think it might be a shapeshifter. He was pretending to be Andy when I got there" Angel said. "You stopped him though right" Cordelia said. "No me and Prue actually thought it was Andy so we let him go" Angel said. "How do you know it wasn't really Andy" Doyle asked. "He found the real Andy tied up in a closet" Angel said.
"Is he OK" Cordelia asked. "Yea he's fine. We need to look up everything we can about shapeshifters" Angel said. "On it" Cordelia said walking to the computer behind the desk. "Also we need to see what we can find out about Victor Halliwell" Angel said. Cordelia and Doyle looked at each other. "What do they have a brother we don't know about" Doyle asked. "No he's their father. Prue thinks he's behind this and I just want to make sure we can rule him out" Angel said. "OK well I'll see what I can find on the streets" Doyle said leaving. Angel went to go into his office to see what he could find out about shapeshifters when Cordelia stopped him. "These came in the mail" she said handing him a bunch of magazines. Angel looked at them and saw that they were all wedding magazines. "These will help us make some of the decisions regarding our wedding. I was thinking maybe we could look at them together tonight" Cordelia said. Angel smiled and kissed her. "Of course we can" he said.
Andy had stayed at the house for the rest of the day. He had called the station and told his captain he was sick and wouldn't be able to finish his shift. Then he changed into more casual clothes. No one had tried to break in. He spent most of the day just looking through the book making a list of all the demons who were shapeshifters who could possibly be trying to steal the book. Prue had decided she wasn't going to go with Piper and Phoebe to dinner with their father. She'd much rather have a quiet night home with Andy planning their wedding. While Andy was upstairs taking a shower Prue had made them dinner. Andy had walked into the kitchen where Prue was getting their plates ready. He came up behind Prue and wrapped his arms around her and started kissing her neck. "Andy we have to eat dinner" Prue said. "Come on Prue it's not every day we are alone in this house just the two of us. We should take advantage of that" he said.
"Let's eat first then we can take advantage of this empty house" Prue said bringing their food over to the kitchen table. "Fine let's eat" Andy said. "How's your head" Prue asked. "It still hurts a little bit but I'm fine" he said. "So you never did tell me what happened with your father today? You seemed really upset. I just want to make sure your OK" Andy said. Prue smiled at him. "I'm fine. It's just he just showed up at work" Prue said. "I can't believe your father just came back into your guys lives. Do you really think he's behind all of this" Andy asked. "Well I wouldn't really put it past him. I mean why now of all times? Why come back into our lives now" Prue asked. "I don't know but I made a list of all the demons who have the power to shapeshift who could possibly be after the book" Andy said handing Prue a piece of paper. "This is very good. I'll send this list to Angel and see maybe he can find something that can help us" Prue said.
"You know Piper and Phoebe just don't understand. They don't know him like I do. I can't believe I let them go" Prue said looking down at her food. Prue scoffed. "I can't believe they went. He's acting like no time has passed like I'm still his little girl and I'm not" Prue said as Andy ate his food and listened to his fiancé. "There are things I want to tell him. I want him to know what he missed you know like the time I broke my arm or the day that I finally passed my driver's test our Prom" Prue said. "Didn't we miss that to" Andy said smiling at the thought. Prue laughed. Andy continued smiling as he thought of their prom night. "I want him to know. I want him to want to know" Prue said. A thought came to Andy's head that might help Prue. "I also want answers like where the hell has he been my whole life. Why didn't he come back until now he needs to know that that's not OK" Prue said. "So tell him" Andy said. Prue looked down at her uneaten food. "I'll go with you" Andy said. "Thanks" Prue said.
Prue and Andy arrived at the hotel where Piper and Phoebe were having dinner with their father. They walked into the restaurant and saw the table they were sitting at. Prue and Andy walked over to the table. "Prudence" Victor said smiling standing up. He looked at Andy who was standing next to her. "Who are you" Victor asked a smile still on his face. "Andy Trudeau. Me and Prue are engaged" Andy said. Victor held out his hand and Andy shook it. "It's nice to meet you. Was no one going to tell me that Prudence here was engaged" he said looking at Piper and Phoebe who both turned to look at Prue. "Did we miss much" Prue asked changing the subject. "Just catch up. Dad was filling us in. We were going down memory lane" Phoebe said. "Has he mentioned where he's been all our lives" Prue said her eyes not leaving her father. "Prue" Piper said. "I don't understand if you can afford a spread like this why didn't you help out when Grams died. We actually could have used it then" Prue said.
"Give him a chance Prue. Dad's already explained. The money all this it's new" Piper said. "It's OK Piper. I'm a big boy. I didn't come back earlier because I was afraid I might disappoint you" Victor said. "Too late" Prue said. "Wonder what's keeping that desert" Piper said. Phoebe just sat there. She couldn't believe Prue was doing this. She awkwardly smiled at Piper. "Please sit down have something to eat the both off you" Victor said to Prue and Andy. "I'm not hungry" Prue said. "Yea we kind of ate before we came here" Andy said. "Always in a hurry Prue. You skipped crawling and went straight to walking" Victor said. "Oh we're sharing memories. Well I've got one of my own your back walking out the door" Prue said. Phoebe sighed. Victor looked behind him as a waiter was walking out with cake. As he passed their table Victor threw his foot out and tripped the waiter. Piper froze the entire restaurant. Prue nudged Andy and he unfroze.
Andy grabbed the cake before it unfroze. The restaurant unfroze and the waiter fell to the floor. "Who wants cake" Andy asked holding the cake. The waiter got up behind Andy and brushed himself off. "Nice reflex's" Victor said. "Yea well you have to have good reflex's when you're a cop. It's kind of part of the job description" Andy said trying to cover up the fact that Piper just froze the whole restaurant. Victor laughed to himself. "Now let me get this straight. Piper you freeze time. Prue don't you move objects and what's your special trick Phoebe? Don't you have visions of the future and you Andy you know about them don't you" Victor said. Phoebe nodded her head and looked at Victor in shook. She couldn't believe he knew they were witches. "Maybe we should talk about this elsewhere" Victor said. Prue Piper Phoebe and Andy all just looked at each other. Andy put the cake on the table. "Yea maybe we should talk about this somewhere else" he said. He was starting to think Prue might have been right.
Angel and Cordelia had spent most of the day looking through shapeshifters that could possibly be after the book. They had narrowed it down to around 50. Doyle didn't have very much luck either. The three of them were sitting in Angel and Cordelia's little kitchen they had underneath their office planning Angel and Cordelia's wedding. "It obviously has to happen at night because of the whole sun issue" Angel said. "We'll be in a church. You'll be fine" Cordelia said. "Cordy I would prefer something at night" Angel said. "Well then no one will be able to come" Cordelia said. "How am I supposed to get to the church with the sun out" Angel asked. "We could sneak you in the night before. It'll be" Doyle started to say but then stopped when a vision hit him. Angel jumped up and grabbed him. Cordelia went to get the pills for Doyle's head. "Doyle what did you see" Angel asked. "Three demonic dogs attacking the sisters and Andy at their house" Doyle said. Angel put on his leather jacket and left.
Piper was sitting on the couch reading a magazine with her feet up while Phoebe was sitting on a chair with her feet up reading a magazine. Andy walked into the room they were in. Piper saw him and stood up. "What are you doing here" she asked Andy. "What do you think" Andy asked. Phoebe stood up. "Get out now" she said. "No you've got to get out" Andy said. "We've got it under control" Phoebe said. Andy shook his head. "No you don't because their on their way back" Andy said. Andy changed into Fritz. "I thought you were in charge" Fritz said to Phoebe. "Look shapeshift into yourselves and we'll get back to the book later" Fritz said. Phoebe changed into Marshall. "Nice plan Marshall" Fritz said. "Don't piss me off Fritz" Marshall said as Piper changed into Cynda. "How was I supposed to know Prue would come back with her sisters" Marshall asked. "Yea and the cop has been here ever since you attacked him and he's had the book with him. We couldn't do anything" Cynda said.
"You really think you would have been able to trick Prue into getting the book out of the house" Fritz said walking up to Marshall. "Well we sure as hell can't know can we" Marshall said. "So what now genius" Fritz asked. Cynda laughed. "Well now we kill them" she said shapeshifting into a dog. Angel pulled up in his car to the house. He got out of his car and tried the front door but it was locked. He ran around the back and hoped they didn't lock the back door. Just then Andy and Prue pulled up followed by Victor Piper and Phoebe. They all got out of the car and walked up to the house. Marshall and Fritz had shapeshifted into dogs to and all three were waiting by the front door for the sisters to come in. Angel had gotten in through the back door and ran to the front of the house. "You know I really hate dogs. You guys could have shapeshifted into something else. Oh well that make this even more fun" Angel said as he put on his vamp face.
The three dogs attacked Angel and Angel fought them off. Outside Prue reached the front door and put the key in and unlocked it. Andy came up behind her followed by Phoebe Piper and Victor. Inside Angel was fighting off the dogs until they all pounced on him together and he fell to the floor. They started biting him all over and he unvamp faced. He tried to fight them off but the three of them together were to strong. They kept biting him all over. Prue opened the door as the three shapeshifters shapeshifted into birds. The three birds flew out of the house and Prue Piper Phoebe Victor and Andy watched them go. "Friends of ours" Victor said. Andy looked in the house and saw Angel on the floor struggling to get up. "Angel" he called as he ran into the house to help him up. Angel was bleeding all over. Andy helped Angel to the stairs and to a chair in the dining room and sat Angel down on it. "What happened" Andy asked as the other four came over.
Angel looked at Victor. "It's alright he knows" Phoebe said. Prue glared at Phoebe. Whatever happened to Angel she didn't want said in front of their father. "They were here again. There were three of them this time" Angel said. Prue Piper Phoebe and Andy all looked at each other. There were three shapeshifters in the house at the same time. Now they had to deal with three shapeshifters at the same time. This worried all four of them and they would have to figure out some way to stop all of them before they succeeded and got the book.
