"Alright everybody. It's time for our nightly skate competition. Everyone show off your sickest moves and be crowned Skater of the Night! Let's get this party started." Sour Cream shouts as he puts on music before everyone sees Connie and Steven fuse while dancing and skating.
"They're doing it. They're winning." Alexis says happily as she is with Pearl and Bismuth.
"Of course. These two make an amazing team. As always. I know them!" Pearl shouts as the crown cheers for Stevonnie.
"I think we can agree who the winner is. Unless someone wants to follow that up. I guess that makes the winner by default Stevonnie!" Sour Cream shouts as Connie and Steven unfuse.
"Congrats guys!" Bismuth shouts at Steven and Connie as they go over to Sour Cream.
"Hey uh Pearl could we talk for a bit?" Alexis asks as she looks at Pearl.
"Of course Alexis. What's on your mind?" Pearl asks as she smiles at Alexis causing her to blush.
"This one goes out to Alexis and Pearl from Steven and Connie." Sour Cream says as he puts on the commercial song.
"Alexis it's my favorite song! What did you want to talk about?" Pearl asks before Alexis smiles softly at her.
"You know what? Our talk can wait. Come on Pearl. Skate with me." Alexis says as she begins skating with Pearl.
*Timeskip*
"Wait. So that's why you're been acting the way you have around me lately?" Pearl asks as she is later on the beach with Alexis.
"Yeah. Sorry Pearl." Alexis says as she looks down.
"No Alexis. Don't apologize. If anyone should apologize it should be me. I'm sorry if I made you feel you had to keep this from me because of me always looking out for you or because you're human. You being human doesn't matter. I will always be there for you. You've been an amazing friend to me for a long time." Pearl says.
"I know but I also know that all we'll ever be is friends." Alexis says disappointedly.
"I never said that." Pearl says.
"Huh?" Alexis asks in surprise as she looks at Pearl.
"I admit it's been an adjustment since Rose but I've grown in more ways than one. I know well that humans don't live as long as gems but I'd be an even bigger fool if I didn't take what time I can have with my favorite human now while I can." Pearl says as she smiles.
"Pearl are you sure?" Alexis asks in surprise.
"I'm sure but are you? I can't provide you a life that another human could. You'd be in danger with any of my old enemies. I also could never give a child to you. I can't eat or do anything that a regular human could in certain terms of things. I just want your happiness." Peale says as Alexis smiles and nods.
"Pearl I'm always happy when I'm with you. Just the way you are. I love you. I know whatever we face we'll do it together. And besides far as kids I wouldn't be opposed to adopt." Alexis says.
"I love you too. And I wouldn't mind either. Just as long as I get to baby proof the house first. After some of the things we went through with Steven I don't want a non gem anywhere near gem stuff. And all I ask is don't try to make me eat food. I love you but that is a definite no." Pearl says.
"Deal. So um would you uh wanna go to a movie? I know you don't always see the point in them but-" Alexis then gets cut off by Pearl.
"Alexis any opportunity to be with the one I love is one I will not miss. If you want to watch a movie together then we will certainly do just that." Pearl says as she smiles at Alexis causing her to smile.
