Robotnik slams his fist onto a panel while watching security footage of his previous battle and screams "BLAST THOSE MEDDLING HEDGEHOGS!!! They have been a thorn in my side for one moment too many. Especially you, Sonic! One day I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE!!!" A swat-bot enters the room. "Swat-bot, give me a status report of my most recent project!" Robotnik demands. The swat-bot replies, "Robotic Accelerated Genesis Eliminator is 74% charged sir." Robotnik is pleased by the news and dismisses the swat-bot.
"Speaking of getting revenge," Robotnik says gidilly, "it appears that day is much closer than I anticipated. Prepare yourselves hedgehogs, very soon you will face MY RAGE!" Sleet and Dingo enter the room. "Would you like us to distract the hedgehogs while R.A.G.E. is charging sir?" Sleet says. Dingo continues, "Yeah, so that way they won't be able to-" Robotnik quickly silences Dingo and claims, "I have a very specific but very special job for you. It's really simple. So simple in fact Dingo could probably do it solo." Robotnik laughs in self amusement.
Meanwhile Sonic, Manic, and Sonia are battle an overwhelming amount of swat-bots. Sonia is continuously trying to get in touch with the freedom fighters but to no avail until suddenly robots retreat for an unknown reason. Manic points this out saying, "Woah dudes, check it out!" Sonic adds on, "Robuttniks bots are running away!" Sonia, with a concerned look, asks "Why would Robotnik have his swatbots retreat with such an advantage, it just makes no sense. Unless-" she gasps, "ROBOTNIK'S MAIN BASE IS UNDER ATTACK, NOWS OUR CHANCE WE HAVE TO GO!!!"
Sonic becomes skeptical and replies, "Woah woah hold on now sis, why would the freedom fighters start an all out assault on Robotnik without us?" "Does it matter?" Manic asks to which Sonia replies, "Actually, now that you mention it, it does. Why would the freedom fighters leave us out of the one battle that could save all of Mobotropolis?" A new voice enters the conversation. "It's because Robotnik has been listening in on our conversations, so we had to destroy our communicators." The trio turn to see a tall cloaked figure approaching them to which Sonic asks, "And you are?" The figure responds, "I will tell you, but first you must destroy your communicators before we continue our little conversation."
The trio become really suspicious of the odd man, questioning themselves and each other if they should put their trust into the stranger. But with their current situation, they are unsure whether or not they have a choice. They come to an agreement and destroy their communicators. Sonia, a little pestered, resumes the conversation. "Alright, there trashed, now like Sonic said, who are you?" To which the man is quick to reply, "I am the Head Commander of the Freedom Fighters young ones, and I-". Before he could finish, Manic quickly interrupts getting even more conspicuous, "Hold on now. If you're the "Head Commander" then why aren't you fighting with the rest of the Freedom Fighters?" Sonic adds on to his brothers queery, "Yeah why are you all the way out here talking to us? Don't tell me you bailed on them." The Commander not wanting to lose the heroes trust, quickly explains his own situation, "I would of helped if I could but as you can see, I have seen better days." The commander reveals his casted leg and crutch and continues, "I came all the way out here to find you three to help the Freedom Fighters put an end to Robotnik's rule once and for all."
The trios suspicion quickly changes to guilt and remorse. Sonic expresses his gratitude to the commander and claims; "We'll put an end to this! Right guys!?" Sonic turns to his siblings who give a confirming nod and the three of ready to head to battle but are once again stalled by the commander who states; "Before you go, know this. Robotnik has a powerful weapon charging in his main base. One that could wipe out the Freedom Fighters for good. Someone working from the inside found it and managed to report it back to us before he got captured. We haven't heard from him since. Now go, go before it's to late!" Sonic replies, "Commander, you can count on us." Sonic turns to his siblings once more and continues, "Alright, Manic! Sonia! LET'S GO!!!" They run off leaving the commander behind to rest.
"I must say that was an outstanding performance." A familiar voice claims. The commander turns to a figure shaded by a nearby tree and replies almost excitedly; "You really think so?" The shaded figure continues, "Indeed I'm impressed, now let's get you out of that ridiculous outfit." The figure pulls out a remote that fires a beam at the commander which turns him into Dingo. The figure then steps out from the shade, revealing himself to be Sleet, who happily states; "Good thing we still have our communicators huh?" Dingo replies, "Yeah, I don't think I would have convinced 'em without your help." Sleet reassures his partner by stating, "Oh nonsense. It's like robotnik said; "So simple that you could probably do it solo."
Sonic and his siblings are ready to rush into battle until Sonia warns her brothers to stop and the three of them come to a halt. Sonic, obviously curious about his sisters concern until she points out multiple laser blasts coming from the main entrance. Manic confirms to which Sonic states, "So the front lines are a no go." and looks around for another entrance. He spots a giant hole created by an explosion from their last attack. "Well well well, looks like good old Robuttnik forgot to tidy up before our grand arrival." Sonic states with a devious grin. Sonia hasn't exactly caught on and asks, "Sonic what are you on about?" Sonic claims that Robotnik forgot to patch up the hole from their last attack. Manic gets curious as to what Sonic was on about until Sonia points out, "We can sneak into the base through that hole and attack whatever swatbots Robotnik has available from behind." Manic now has another question; "How are we going to get to said hole?" Sonic notices a rock formation that could be used as a ramp and states, "Leave that to me."
Sonic grabs his siblings by the arms and runs away from the base which leaves Sonia confused so she shouts, "Sonic where are we going!? The base is that way!" Sonic claims that he is aware and comes to a halt where he then states, "I just need a running start." "Oh boy." His siblings say knowing what's about to happen next. "S-sonic, maybe we could come up with a better- PLAN!?" Sonia says scared as Sonic begins running at full speed towards the rock formation and he shouts, "OH YEAH LET'S DO IT!!!"
Sonia starts thinking, "Sonic is going to get us all killed! This is how I die!" They make it to the rock ramp and are launched with Sonic keeping a tight grip on his siblings while Sonia is screaming hysterically. They make the jump with Sonia is still screaming with her eyes closed. "WOOHOO that was awesome!" Sonic claims in excitement. Manic pokes his sister stating, "Yo sis, we made it." "We did!? I mean of course we made it, Sonic is the fastest thing alive." Sonia says not wanting to admit she was terrified to which Sonic teasingly says, "Oh is that what you were shouting while we were airborne." Sonic and Manic laugh, irritating Sonia. She tells them to focus so they can help the Freedom Fighters.
Sonic points out that the room seems a little large. Manic then points out that there are no doors either which surprises Sonic and Sonia. But Robotnik was more than happy to answer any questions the trio may have had as he reveals his giant mech and asks "Did you really think the freedom fighters were foolish enough to challenge me head on?". Manic asks why there are no doors to which Robotnik replies with another question, "Why don't coffins have hinges?" Sonia answers with a stern look, "So those inside don't get out!" The hole the trio once entered through is quickly sealed by a large blast shield. Robotnik jokingly shouts out, "BINGO, 10 points to the purple princess! But while we're on the topic of coffins, before I hammer in the final nail, allow me to introduce to you my Robotic Accelerated Genesis Eliminator, but you can call it my pure unadulterated RAGE!" Sonic taunts Robotnik, "Heh, I must say Robuttnik, you did a pretty decent job here. This is the perfect scenario for an epic final battle." Robotnik, no a little aggravated, states, "Speaking of nails, I can't wait to hammer you in the head, Sonic! But for once I must agree with you, this is the perfect scenario. Three ants against one giant, who will come out victorious?" Sonic and Sonia ask in unison, "Let's find out shall we?" Robotnik shouts, "Yes let us, you little RATS!"
Robotnik strikes towards the trio but they dodge in separate directions, separating the three of them. Robotnik keeps his attention on Sonic. "Geez Robotnik I thought even you would have figured out that we're hedgehogs by now." Sonic says as he begins running around the mech while Manic starts climbing its back with Sonia taking shots at it with her instrument but to no avail. Robotnik compliments Sonic by saying "I see that you're as fast as always Sonic." "Well I am the fastest thing alive." Sonic states with a smug look. Robotnik suspiciously compliments him again; "Well I must say it is a special gift to have such amazing speed." Sonia starts questioning why Robotnik is being menacingly polite. Robotnik continues, "But you have ask yourself, do your siblings have the same gift?" He turns his head towards Manic who is now on the mechs shoulders.
Sonic shouts out for Manic to get away and rushes to get him, Manic claims that "this ain't good" before Robotnik's mech flicks him off its shoulder before Sonic can reach him and sends him flying into a wall across the room and then grabs Sonic.
Sonia runs over to Manic to see if he's okay to which he replies, "Well I've been better, because 1; I could NOT have been sent flying across the room into this metal wall, and 2; Sonic could Not be getting the life squeezed out of him by the hands of that mech." Meanwhile Sonic is getting the life squeezed out of him by the hands of said mech. Sonia notices this, summons her instrument weapon and shouts "HEY, PUT SONIC DOWN THIS INSTANT!!!" Sonia begins to open fire at the head of the mech but Robotnik blocks her shots with one of the robots arms where Robotnik jokingly replies, "If you insist" and has the mech throw Sonic into Sonia and they are both send into the wall next to Manic. "Hey dude and dudette, welcome to the wall party" Manic says with Sonic quickly replying, "Manic I appreciate that you're trying to lighten the mood but-" Before Sonic could finish, robotnik's mech punches the trio through the wall sending them flying into a patrol of swatbots on the outside of the main building which break their fall. Sonic tries to finish his sentence but starts coughing up blood and states, "Well that's a first... and a lot." Manic asks "Is anyone else-" Sonia tries to answer her brother's unfinished question by saying, "Coughing up blood? Yes! We were just punched through a wall into a bunch of swatbots! We're real lucky that they got destroyed in the process!" Manic, a little pestered, says "I was going to ask if anyone else was questioning how we're still alive but sure let's worry about a bit of blood and not the- MISSILES GET DOWN!!!" Manic pushes Sonic and Sonia behind cover.
Sonic asks his siblings if they have any ideas. Sonia states that "There has to be a weak point somewhere right?" Manic claims that they have company they are now surrounded by swatbots and Robotnik's mech. Robotnik states that they have no chance of winning now and that they should give up. "In your dreams Robotnik!" Sonia shouts as the trio summon their instruments to which Robotnik replies, "Speaking of dreams, What are you three going to do!? Sing me a lullaby!?" Robotnik begins laughing until a distant voice shouts "FIRE AT WILL!!!" and a barrage of powerful blaster shots strike the mech in its chest revealing its bright red core. A surprised Robotnik turns the mechs head shouts "WHO DARES!?" An army's amount of people shout back in unison, "THE FREEDOM FIGHTERS!!!"
Sonic asks the group "Heh, what took you guys so long?" Manic questions, "How did they know we needed help?" until Sonia blurts out, "IS THAT SLEET!?" Sonic and Manic are shocked by their sister's statement and she continues, "IT IS! SLEET BROUGHT THE FREEDOM FIGHTERS TO HELP US!" Robotnik is furious and screams "YOU BACK STABBING TRAITORS!!! YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS!!!" and retreats back to the inside base. Sonic asks "If Sleet is up there, then where is Dingo?" "Behind you!" Dingo says as he destroys the swatbots surrounding the trio and the three if they were alright. Sonic claims that they're doing better now. More swatbots appear and the four of them begin battling.
Sonia wonders what made them change sides. Dingo states "It was your mother." which makes Sonic and Manic laugh sarcastically. Sleet jumps in to join the fight and tells them that Dingo is serious.
Dingo claims that after the three left to go fight Robotnik, their mother showed up and turned herself in. Sonic questions why she would do that. Dingo wondered the same thing and assumed it was probably did it to get his and Sleet's attention. Sleet continues by stating they cuffed her and were about to report it to Robotnik but then she asked a very peculiar question. Sonia asks what it was. "What would we do once we won?" Sleet pondered that question for a bit and thought of the outcomes and, let's just say, there were no good ones. Him and Dingo would either continue working for Robotnik as tax collectors for the rest of their lives or he would find no more use for them and have them roboticized. Dingo buts in, "If you think about it no matter what outcome we got we would end up getting roboticized." Sleet slaps Dingo upside the head, telling him "That's besides the point goo for brains. The point is that we weren't willing to find out. So we uncuffed her and-" "And then you gathered the rest of the Freedom Fighters?" Manic asks in an attempt to finish Sleet's sentence with Sleet confirming. Dingo adds that it did take some convincing though but they got through to them eventually.
Sonia thanks the two for the backup but questions if it's going to be enough. "Guess we're about to find out." Sleet says as he pulls out a Freedom Fighter communicator. He speaks into it saying "HQ, this is Sleet. I need all available personnel to begin cover fire on any visible swatbot, Over!" a male voice returns from the communicator; "Copy that Sleet, rerouting order to all available personnel, over." Sleet ends the conversation be saying "roger that, over and out." Sonic assumes they have a plan. Sleet confirms stating that the Freedom Fighters will get rid of the swatbots while the five of them take care of Robotnik. Manic is surpised that the two of them are fighting Robotnik with them. "Let's just say he's underpaid us one time too many." Dingo says a little annoyed. "Couldn't have said it better myself." Sleet says cheering up his partner a little.
Sonia starts getting impatient, "While that's great and all, how are going to get back inside he sealed all of the doors?" All the doors on Robotnik's main base suddenly open including the blast shields covering the giant hole. "I knew that fat fool would forget to get rid of our access to the defences." Sleet says with a devious grin.
Sonia was thankful because she didn't feel like going airborne again but Sonic reminds her that "The room Robuttnik's in doesn't have any doors other than the giant hole." Sonic grabs hold of his siblings and launches to Robotnik's main base using the same rock formation from earlier with Sonia once again hysterically screaming, this time accompanied by Sleet and Dingo who are following close behind using Manic's hoverboard which Manic is now wondering why no one suggested they used it earlier.
The five of them successfully land inside the same room from earlier. "Long time no see Robuttnik. Did you miss us?" Sonic says before Robotnik shouts, "Oh do you EVER SHUT UP!?" Everyone but Sonic say, "No" which bothers Sonic as he says "Hey! Whose side are you on? Anyways, Care for a rematch Robuttnik?"
