A long, long time ago.

There was a peaceful kingdom who lives in prosperity. The imperial family ruled the kingdom for centuries, they are great people who have supernatural powers far surpassed human logic. In awe, their people believed that the imperial family would protect them from harm of the monsters lurking outside the gate of the kingdom.

One day, the imperial family made a device that lets their people to wield the supernatural powers to a certain degree. With the newly found powers, people have begun to learn how to wield it until they are able to break through the next degree.

Consumed by greed, the people raised their voice to make a revolution towards the imperial family and drive them out of the kingdom. The imperial family doesn't have any choice but to flee from the kingdom, when they have finally disappeared, the people cheered in victory and begins to party without knowing tomorrow.

Until one day,

The newly made kingdom are not able to withstand the ferocious monster from the outside world. They search for the once imperial family and beg for their help. But the imperial family is nowhere to be found.

Several days later, a lone traveler entered the kingdom and declared that he is a wizard that can help the kingdom in their peril. He wielded four divine spirits that can control the power of nature. He easily breaks through the line of monsters and pushed them back, far away from the kingdom.

The kingdom sings praises to the wizard. From there on, the wizard stayed in the kingdom and served as the court magician in the castle.

Time went by and the kingdom begins to develop even more as they are finally able to make the kingdom fly away into the sky. In the safety beyond the clouds, the kingdom made an entire humanity, separated from them, on the earth's surface.

And that is how everything begins.

He can hear nothing but screams and pleas from them. But he decided not to pay attention, however reluctant he is. He is not here to play hero after all. As the four divine spirits vessels run amok, he can only watch as they slaughtered each and every one in desperation. Tears run down from their cheek and falls to the ground.

He watched until every last one of them falls to the ground, lifeless. When the deed is done, the four divine spirits turned their attention towards him, waiting for an order.

"The time for humanity to part ways with the gods has come," His hand pointed at the four divine spirits. Then he continued. "We will be the eyes to observe humanity from now on.

"But there is still one thing that is need to be done." The wizard turned his back and walked towards the balcony. His eyes gazed far away into the dark swirl that appears in the horizon. "Go and fight the eclipse. Do not let it stay in this world for too long."

His words means order to them. The four divine spirits take no time to catch a breath as they descend to the earth's surface once again, this time to suppress the darkness that threatens to engulf the entire world.

When the battle ended, the wizard went to the fighting scene and saw that the vessels have dissipates into thin air, leaving the four divine spirits standing before him. He turned them back into their original form—four chunks of diamond. He grasped the diamonds in his hand tightly.

In silence, the sky with no clouds stole his attention. His eyes reflecting the color of the blue sky. Tears escaped his eyes as they slowly roll down his cheeks.

"It's as if the whole world is mocking them for trying." He whispered to the wind.

Helios watched from the crowd as they cheered when the fire is lit, burning the girl on the stake. The girl's scream drowned in the cheer. Helios can only watch again as he lost his friend and disciple. His eyes doesn't show any remorse because they both know that this will happen eventually.

He already warned her not to use her powers in public, but she can't just let those burglars get away from stealing in the market. Everyone watched her in horror as the burglars are kneeling to her, begging not to kill them. She only ordered them to return what they have stolen, and so they did. Not any later than that, the people from the church took her as prisoner. For they believed that she is a witch and has to be burnt on a stake.

Helios tried to help her run away, but she refused. "This is my pay for not listening to your warning." She spoke in a bitter tone while smiling. He reluctantly leaves her and on the next day, her execution begins.

The flame eats her alive, but she didn't even try to escape. Helios clenched his fists, trying to not let the tears escape his eyes once again. In her last moments, behind the fire, she mouthed to him who is the only one crying for her departure.

"I'm sorry and thank you for everything."

After the death of his disciple, in the remnants of the castle in the sky, Helios wonders around. He tries to find that device the imperial family once made to let their people use their supernatural powers. His eyebrows furrowed when he saw no sign of the device. Have the divine spirits destroyed it back then? His memory is vague.

He cursed his incompetence; he should've written the events down next time he's back in his house. Some wizard he is.

He flicked his wrist, the rubbles float and moved away from his path. His eyes scanning the entire environment, but he found nothing. Only remnants to what was supposed to be the place where the gods live.

The wizard turned his back to the ruined kingdom once again. He descends back onto the earth's surface. There is only one thing that resounds in his head during his trip back.

"Remember, the time is short."

To Be Continued

A/N: This is actually a prequel to "Re-Write", but I have to delete the story because after a long debate and discussion with a friend, I changed a lot of things and it's no longer the same as the one written there. Please tell me in comment if there are any misspelling or something like that in the story. See you later~
