Chapter 2

"Ana! Ana!" Ana blinked her eyes and saw Kate standing over her and the most handsome man with copper colored hair and gray eyes staring at her. It was the man she saw downstairs. "Oh my gosh Ana are you ok?" Ana tried to sit up and noticed she wasn't in the lobby anymore. She could see that she was on the top floor from the ceiling to floor window. She was embarrassed that her clothes were soaked and she was on the couch. "Ana, no more skipping lunch!"

The young man looked worried and serious at the same time. It sent a shiver through her body. The man finally spoke, "Olivia! Get me a towel!" He pushed Ana back, "You need to lay back." Ana did what he said, not really knowing why. His voice was stern but she could hear the panic in it. He moved away and went to his desk.

Olivia came running in heels with a huge towel. Kate wrapped it around Ana and the man came over with half a sandwich. "Here eat!" Ana took a big bite and chewed as he walked away again. "Andrea! Get her some warm tea." Ana watched another blonde rush in as ordered.

She was confused. She realized she fainted, but what happened after that? How did she get there? Ana ate the sandwich and sipped the warm tea that was just right. "Kate what happened? Who is that?"

Kate smiled her smirking smile, "You passed out in the lobby and that's Christian Grey." They didn't know, but Christian had been watching the lobby since Ana walked in with Kate. He turned on the camera to see Katherine Kavanagh leaving. He did the interview to get connections with her rich father, but she was the most unprofessional person he ever met.

He saw Ana instead and was intrigued by her looks. The long brown hair made him want her without even knowing her name or seeing her face. He called down and had Olivia come up immediately with her name. He questioned her and fired her right away. He was pissed that she didn't let her up with Katherine Kavanagh. Kate had messed up, but Ana saved her career that Christian vowed to ruin.

Kate was excited, "He was coming downstairs to apologize, even though I thought I owed the apology." Ana was wondering the same thing, why would he apologize. "He said he wanted to finish answering the questions, but you fainted right before he came over." Ana looked confused, it all sounded weird. "Ana, he picked you up and carried you the entire way. I think he likes you."

Ana looked at him on the phone. "Kate, he's so young. I thought Christian Grey would be an old man. Why did you think he was gay? Are you crazy?" Kate just smiled. Ana should have googled him.

Christian came back with an older man who looked just as serious. "This is my head of Security, Jason Taylor. He will take us to my Escala residence. My mother is a doctor and will meet us there to check you out. Miss Kavanagh, we can finish the interview there."

Ana shot up, "I'm fine. I don't need a doctor. It's my fault anyway." She looked at Olivia who was so helpful, she didn't know she had been released from her duties, "Olivia thank you for your help. I'm sorry I didn't listen to you." Olivia smiled and went to the door she saw Christian stop her and watched Olivia nod and smile.

Kate begged with her eyes, "We don't have the car anyway and what if you hit your head." Christian walked back over, he just stood there with his hands in his pockets and teeth clenched. He looked mad. Ana was out numbered and had no choice.

They went straight to the garage and into the SUV. They drove until the Escala building was in sight. Ana had seen the Escala building just like the Grey building. Ana watched as he hit the top floor number. Kate was bouncing nervously. Ana wanted to tell her not to mess this one up.

They stepped off and Ana saw it was a private entrance to his door. When they walked in they were greeted by an older woman, "This Gail Taylor, Jason's wife." Gail was sweet. Christian explained she did the cooking and cleaning for him and they both lived in the private residence below him. Ana looked around in awe. Kate grew up like that, so not much shocked her. Christian pulled the wet towel off of her shoulders and replaced it with a new warm one, "We should get you out of these wet clothes."

Gail informed Christian that his mother and brother were both on the way up. She opened the door and they saw an older woman with brown hair and specks of gray walk in. She smiled immediately and that made Ana feel safe. Behind her was a loud noise, "Christian! I'm lucky, I was with mom when you called. I never get an invite over here."

He was taller than Christian. He had blonde hair and blue eyes. They didn't look anything alike. Kate took to him right away. Christian rolled his eyes, "Hello mother. Hi Elliot." He turned, "Mother, Elliot, this is Katherine Kavanagh and Anastasia Steele." Ana wondered how he knew her full name and even asked. Christian smiled, "You tried to sign into my building."

It was the first time Ana saw his smile and she liked it. He was so serious and formal, "hello mother", who says that? Ana looked at Kate and Elliot drooling over each other, "Mrs. Grey, I'm fine really."

She guided Ana across the family room, "Nonsense, let me check you out. Don't worry, a pediatrician is still a doctor. And both of you call me Grace. Come on, let's get you out of these wet clothes and in the shower. Christian, get me something she can wear." Ana shook her head embarrassed, she was going to be checked like a kid.

They headed to the bedroom and Elliot smiled, "Hey, I'll keep Kate occupied." Ana even rolled her eyes at that one until Christian saw it and smiled.

Christian opened his drawer and handed his mom a stack, "They will probably be too big, but you'll be warmer." Seattle rain in May was cold and Ana was shivering. "Mom, turn on the bathroom heater and check her in there. I'll wait here." Ana saw his worried face, she smiled at him hoping it would help.

Grace was nice, "Let me feel your head and look in your eyes." Grace didn't feel a knot. She checked her eyes using her light. "So you skipped lunch huh?" She clicked it off, "Not good sweetheart. Make sure you eat next time." Ana nodded. Grace was the mother she dreamed of. "Okay, I think you're good, but I'm going to sit right while you shower. Use the bench inside if you feel weak."

Ana climbed in the huge shower and turned on the warm water. She saw Christian's soap and smelled it. It smelled just like him, so she used some. She wanted the scent to take home with her. Grace brought her from her daydreaming, "Ana are you okay. I don't want you in there long." Ana turned off the water, grabbed the towel, and walked over to Grace. "Okay, good girl. You sit and get dressed, I'll be right outside."

Ana dried off and put on the gray polo T-shirt, then she pulled on his black polo boxer briefs. She giggled to herself as turned over the top to make them fit better. Then she pulled on the gym shorts. She walked out and saw Grace waiting just like she said. Christian was sitting on the bed with his hands on his head.

She decided to make a joke, "All dry, all better. I'm sorry for not eating. Do I need to sign something, like I won't sue you." Ana giggled and it sent a jolt to Christian's dick. When she saw his serious face, she quickly responded, "It was a joke. Funny not funny." She couldn't read him and she didn't like it.

Grace hugged her, "Let's all have dinner, so you don't skip that. Gail made salmon, rice, and salad. Come on." Grace walked out of the room and Ana started to follow. Christian stepped in front of her and brushed her hair from her face, "Your hair is still damp."

Ana swallowed hard, "I didn't see a dryer and it's not soaked." He was so close, it made her nervous but she liked it. She liked him. Guys didn't like Ana. They were friends with her. She knew she never had a chance with him.

He reached inside the front of the gym shorts and kept his eyes locked with hers. He pulled the string as far as it would stretch and tied it. "There, I wouldn't want you to lose them. Let's eat."

When they went out, Elliot and Kate seemed like old friends. They enjoyed dinner and Kate and Ana told them about themselves. Ana hated explaining her family and background because it wasn't a fairytale. So when she did explain Grace smiled, and didn't mention her mother instead she said, "Your father raised a beautiful young lady. It made Ana smile. "I don't like sharing my family drama either."

What Ana didn't know was that Grace and her husband Carrick didn't exactly have a fairytale beginning. He was a lawyer and worked hard for everything. She came from money and all of her kids had trust funds. She was also a successful pediatrician who took care of kids and was sad to learn long ago that she couldn't have her own.

Elliot, Christian, and her daughter Mia, didn't have fairytale stories either, that's why they were all adopted. Grace heard Ana and told her own story right there with Elliot and Christian present, they didn't have secrets with their children. Ana smiled that Grace trusted her to tell her all of that. Christian surely didn't have a fairytale life and he had many more secrets, not even Grace knew.

Once dinner was over Elliot got the jump on Christian, "Well, mom and I will take the girls home. You can get settled for the night and your early morning. Kate thanked him again and apologized again.

Ana looked at him, "Thank you for the clothes. I can bring them to your building after class when I get my car fixed." Ana jumped, "Kate my car! It's going to be towed!"

Kate laughed, "Good, Wanda is a piece of junk." She walked out with Grace and Elliot leaving Ana and Christian standing there alone.

Christian grabbed her, "Who's Wanda?" Ana sighed and went through her story. Christian listened and thought that the car wasn't safe, but he could tell it was sentimental. "Hey, maybe it won't get towed."

Ana shrugged and heard Kate yell for her to hurry up. "Ana! The elevator!" She kissed his cheek, "Thank you Christian."

Christian watched as she left on the elevator. He couldn't get over her beauty. It was inside and out. Ana wasn't his type of girl. Christian Grey had secrets and ways of life that Ana would never agree to. "Fuck, I'm in love."
