Chapter 11

Ana sat at her new desk as an intern editor. The pay was only a little more than an assistant, but the experience she would gain would be worth the extra work. She thought about the sex that she and Christian had over the weekend and last night. They fucked all over the house. She smiled remembering him explaining he wanted to feel her over every inch of the house before Elliot and Kate moved in this week. Oh and the spreader bar was amazing. She got caught daydreaming about Christian attaching it to her legs and flipping in one turn to pound her from behind, "Shouldn't you be reading?"

She looked up and saw Elizabeth Morgan. "Yes, Ms. Morgan. I have already covered these. I'm on the last one now, but I put it to the side, because it's missing the author. She held up the paper copy to show her.

She narrowed her eyes, "Well read it. If it's not worth anything oh well and if it is, I guess you have your work cut out for you." With that she turned around and left.

Ana took the other novels to the correct departments. She had assistant duties along with editor duties, she was very busy. Even though she was in Christian's building, she didn't see him until it was time to leave. She made it back to her desk and started reading. "The Things We Lose."

Ana shrugged and flipped over the cover. "Dedicated to my sister and my son." Ana turned the page. "I used to think life was all loss. So many things happened in my life and it was all a loss…" Ana read on, she just couldn't put the book down. Certain parts just caught her attention. It was a story, but also an autobiography. It was full of pain, more pain than Ana had experienced growing up with her own mother.

This girl who had to be a grown woman now was pimped out by her own mother for drugs. She was raped at the age of 12 by her own father. Her best friend was a boy who had to be a grown man by now. His parents were just as bad and evil. When they made a plan to run away, she had to find a safe place for her younger sister. She made sure her sister was safe with an aunt and left with her best friend now boyfriend. Ana laughed at parts and cried at parts.

She kept reading and the girl ended up pregnant. It was a boy. Ana almost dropped the book. "He had a full head of copper colored hair, lighter than mine. He had unusual distinctive gray eyes just like me. He was so beautiful and my twin. His father and I loved him. He was made from love after we were made and forced to live in hate. We knew we couldn't keep him, but we thought he was also safe with my aunt and sister, the biggest mistake of our lives."

Ana shook her head. "This is Christian!" She jumped up and went to Ms. Morgan's office. She saw Jack Hyde sitting with his leg propped on his other leg, but not crossed. She laughed while waiting, Christian always did that. "Excuse me, Ms. Morgan. Sorry Mr. Hyde." Ana held up the book, "We don't have any way of tracking this person. All of the cameras here."

She laughed but they didn't. Elizabeth looked at Jack, "Ana, come in and sit down." Ana sat down, "Ms. Morgan the baby in this book, he…"

Elizabeth stopped her, "The baby is Christian." Ana listened. Elizabeth explained. "Jack and I are from Detroit. Christian is our baby." She explained their early life which Ana already read about. Then the pregnancy. "We were living in shelters, motels, and our car. I didn't just give him away, I thought my aunt and sister would take care of him. My aunt's only request was if I left him, not to return. I really thought he would be okay. I don't know when it all went so bad. By the time someone was able to contact me about Ella, Christian was gone. I looked for him, but my aunt I'm guessing did a lot. We named him Jackson Theodore Hyde. We didn't know when we looked for him that he was Christian."

Ana knew that part. He only knew his name was Christian. Ana couldn't believe it. "Christian and I don't have secrets. Why would you tell me? Why would you give me that book?"

Jack said, "It's time." He explained they really didn't know until he took over the company. "Of course we saw pictures of him just like everyone in Seattle knows him, but once she sat in that boardroom with him, she knew."

Ana had no idea what to do with the information. They were having a family dinner tonight. Elizabeth told her she and Jack requested a meeting in the morning. Ana didn't make any promises to just sit on the information. They understood, Elizabeth gave Ana the book for a reason.

Ana was so nervous, she breathed a sigh of relief when Christian didn't really notice. He was too busy on the phone with Roz. The trip to China was amazing. He headed straight to his office.

She watched him wink and walk away. "Ana! It's so good to see you." Ana gave Grace a fake smile and she noticed right away. "Mia is here to stay, so glad to have her, you, and Kate." Ana smiled again, it was more real. She knew Grace was having a difficult time since finding out about Elena. "Baby, what's wrong. Did Christian do something?"

Ana shook her head, "No, he's been great Grace. I love him and I'm so grateful for you." Ana didn't want to tell her, this could break her.

Grace pulled her hand, "Let's go for a walk." Grace told Gail and Taylor walked behind them watching. "Ok Ana, talk. Now!" Ana's eyes got big. She laughed thinking that's where Christian got his dominance, it wasn't Elena at all. They sat at the outside coffee shop. "Dessert before dinner. I won't tell Christian."

Ana smiled, "Grace, you've been through so much. I know something major. It will change the entire family. She told Grace everything.

Grace listened carefully. "Hmmm." Ana was surprised. "I'm shocked, but I'm not. One, when you adopt children, there is always a chance that someone can appear. I never thought Ella was Christian's mother. I guess I didn't want to believe that a mother would let anyone treat their son so badly. To hear it was his aunt isn't any better, but I guess she couldn't take care of herself. His parents work for him. The chances are…"

Ana still looked concerned. "You're worried about Christian now right?" Ana nodded. "Ana, don't and don't be afraid to tell him. His life was one big secret before you came along and I doubt he wants any now. Let's head back and you do what you feel is right. I promise I will be right there." On the way back Grace actually shared that when he was younger and struggling so much, they tried to locate someone, a blood relative. "He was looking for answers we didn't have."

Ana walked in and Christian was a wreck, "Where did y'all go?" He saw Ana's face. "What's wrong?" Ana sat him down with Grace and explained everything she knew. He was shocked. Elizabeth Morgan and Jack Hyde are my parents?" Ana nodded. "Ella was my aunt." She nodded and sighed. "Taylor, get them over here!"

They waited and the rest of the family joined them. They supported Christian. He learned that over the last few months. His support system was huge. They all waited. Christian stood up as his biological parents walked in. They didn't expect much, they had no right. Elliot smiled, "Holy shit! Baby bro you look like them. How did we not see it?"

Grace elbowed him. "Excuse his mouth. We raised them better." Elliot offered his apologies. Then Kate got after him. They went to stand by Ana, she needed support too.

Christian smiled for the first time really seeing it. "Mr. Grey, I…" he stopped her immediately, "Please don't." Everyone held their breath. "Call me Christian. I'm not angry and I don't expect you to retell the story. Ana told us. I'm sorry your life wasn't easy and I'm sorry about your sister." Elizabeth wiped her eyes, while Jack held her. "I don't remember much. She didn't hurt me, but she didn't protect me. That's from a 3 year old's eyes. I would put my billions on it to say she couldn't protect me. When did you know?"

Elizabeth looked at Jack, "When you took over the company and I saw your eyes. Then when you did the interview and mentioned Ella, I really knew. I almost told you at our last meeting. We talked about it when we figured it out. We don't want anything and we would like to put in our resignations. It's not fair to you or your family. We also would like to take a DNA test, we would like to see it ourselves."

Christian looked at his mother and she said it before he did. "You are family and I see Christian in you both. And I'm sure that makes him happy." She grabbed Carrick's hand, "We love him and I know he loves us. I'm sure this only helps him move forward. Did I get that right Christian?" Christian nodded.

They all ate as one big family. They did have someone come over and do a test. Elizabeth wanted to see it in black and white. When the test came back it was official. Christian now had two sets of parents. Grace and Carrick worked hard to integrate them into all of the family functions. Christian wouldn't accept their resignations. Elizabeth and Jack agreed to stick around.
