Hatsume Mei knew she was different from the rest of the people around her.

It had been apparent from her first interaction with other people as a little tyke that she wasn't like the other girls that went to her schools. She didn't play with dolls or want to talk about boys and the handsomeness of their faces. In her mind there were other ways to occupy her time, namely with the making of her 'babies.', something that people found weird and sometimes even upsetting.

Sure, she made that one baby in middle school that almost burned down the classroom but hey! At least that one kid learned just how hot he could make something before it melted!

Still, she knew her habits weren't exactly that of a normal kid, heck just ask her mother. She'd always tried to get the girl to act 'normal' to be more like the other girls and be into those dolls and make up, but she never really understood all of that. Why play with dolls when you can make them? Why wear make up when it just got in the when you were trying to build something? Why go out to the mall when you could build up your muscle for building and carrying more babies?

Her mother seemed to hate that last bit the most.

But in the end that didn't matter to Mei, after all she had aced the Support Exam for UA and despite her moms words she'd made a friend!...Well her only friend was her boyfriend but that still counted!

Just thinking about the green haired boy brought a smile to her face and excitement into her body as she gathered more materials to fix up a hero students costume. Izuku Midoriya was easily one of the best things to ever come into her life, the boy was placed just a tad bit higher than her babies when it came to comparing the importance of the two.

Just a little though.

From the first moment that they had met Mei could feel…something…between them. She couldn't exactly put it into words even now, but she knew she enjoyed stalking with him. She had never met someone able to not only keep up with her speech but to understand and build off her ideas. She couldn't remember the last time she'd ever smiled that wide before. Then there was the time they met again when he'd come for some costume upgrades and he'd taken what she'd put him through in strides. She remembered his name, which considering how her brain works was a genuine miracle, and every time he visited from that point on she'd just gotten more and more attached to him and soon enough their hangouts had turned into dates and it was all downhill from there.

He also served as a free food machine so that she didn't have to leave the support lab as often!

'Although.' She thought as she placed the box of scraps down. 'I don't think his friends like me all that much.'

She pretends not to notice the subtle glares some of her boyfriends' class gives her whenever they're seen together. It's not all of them sure but it's enough as to where Mei has noticed some of his main group of friends giving her strange glances from time to time. She never put too much thought into it though, she was used to being the object of looks anyway and she had other things to focus on anyway.

"Hatsume-san."

Hmm, maybe this would work if she tightened the power coils a bit more, but no that would make the engine run to hot. Maybe add in another coolant?

"Hatsume-san."

Ah, that still won't account for how hot it gets when used, maybe if she—

"Hatsume-san!"

Blinking rapidly Mei looked up to see a boy glaring down at her, it was one of Izukus friends the one she'd use as an advertisement in the Sports Festival.

"Oh, glasses!" She chirped. "When did you get here? What do you need? Is it your costume? Want me to upgrade it?"

Ah, she was rambling again. She should really learn to control that better, engine boy seemed to be getting annoyed by it. Or maybe it was because she didn't remember his actual name? It was probably that, she should really change that after all this was one of Izukus closest friends.

"—And therefore, I just cannot approve of you and Midoriyas relationship."

The inventor blinked. "Huh?"

"I said that I wish for you to end things with Midoriya!" Tenya said his arm chopping up and down. "I will not tolerate you taking advantage of him by using him as an advertisement for your support gear!"

Oh, was that what this was about? He thoughts she was using Izuku to further her own goals? Well, she supposed in a way he was but it's not like Izuku actually minded. After all he's the one that helps her design most of his gear nowadays, he even let her put her own special mark on his new leg bracers to show everyone who made it!

"Sorry engine boy but I'm not going to break up with Izuku. He and I make great babies together!"

She was a little bit confused on how that seemed to make the boy a little bit more upset, she had explained it right hadn't she? Izuku loved making babies with her, he loved wearing and watching her maker the gear she made for him so why should he and Mei break up over it?

"Hatsume-san you must understand that you simply cannot—"

"Hey Mei, foods here!"

The sound of her boyfriend immediately garnered her attention away from Engine boy as he came in with two trays of food. She immediately went over to him for a hug an action that usually had him blushing up a storm and stumbling over his words. This time it was weird though, sure she could tell he was blushing, but he wasn't stammering. In fact he seemed oddly stiff now that she thought about it…oh well, she was sure it was nothing big to worry about.

Although engine boy had a weird expression on his face as he left.

"You really like Midoriya-chan don't you Hatsume-chan?"

"Hm? Isn't that obvious?"

Out of all of Izukus friends Hatsume liked Tsuyu the most.

She was blunt and honest to a fault and never failed to get right to the point of the things just like she did! Plus, she gave herself a nickname so Mei didn't have to come up with one.

It was rare that they were in each other's presence though, even now they were only talking because Mei had snagged a seat at their table to wait for Izuku to come and pick her up. He managed to convince her to come to the cafeteria to eat today, she didn't want to of course but when she was told that this would give her more energy to create even more babies she had no choice but to finally adhere to her boyfriend's request.

"What do specifically like about him?"

"He can keep up with me!" She chirped happily that addicting feeling welling up in her chest again. "I've never met anyone like that before, he understands exactly what I'm saying all the time and he doesn't think how I act is weird either. Also have you seen how he's smile? It makes this weird feeling well up in my chest every time he does it and I love it."

"Personal space Hatsume-chan."

Oh, she did it again. She promised to work on that habit of hers when she had that talk with Izuku about his flinching.

"Sorry." She said her expression faltering for a moment. "I've been working on that, Izuku says I'm doing better but I slip up sometimes. He's fine with it though."

"Maybe a bit more than he should."

"Ochako-chan."

Mei raised an eyebrow at Ochako as she immediately balked at her own words and under Tsuyus disapproving glare. The girl had been the most vehement out of everyone who seemed to not like her and Izukus relationship for some reason, what confused Mei even more was how she always seemed guilty whenever she had stopped looking.

Did she like Mei or didn't she It was really confusing. Did she need to be fixed? If she did then Mei could help with that, she was good at fixing things!

"Is there something wrong? I could probably help you fix it if something is wrong Gravity girl."
'my name is Uraraka and you are probably the last person I want to help me fix my problem."

"Ochako-chan—"

"Why not? You're Izukus best friend and I don't want him to get sad because you are it makes me feel weird."

Ochako blinked. "What?"

Mei frowned a bit and looked down at her chest. "Izuku gets really sad sometimes, it doesn't happen a lot but when it does it feels like my chest is trying to kill me. He's usually so happy all the time but there are moments where he suddenly looks so sudden and—"

"You just want to make him happy so that feeling in your chest goes away?"

Mei let out a beaming smile. "I knew you'd get it! Izuku talks about you so much I knew you would understand how I felt."

Her smile turned into a grin as Ochako gave her an actual heartfelt smile, she turned her gaze to Tsuyu who was smiling in Ochakos direction as all three of them began to talk about Izuku. By the time the boy made his way to the table he was pleasantly surprised to see that she actually wanted to stay here with his friends, she didn't get why he was so surprised about it though nor why he looked so relieved at Ochako who gave him a smile and an apology.

She was even more confused at the awkward laughter when she asked what she had to apologize for.

In the end it didn't really matter Izukus friends like her, which means she can hang around Izuku more, which means they can talk about making even more babies!

Now if only he didn't have to go to that Summer Camp in a few weeks.

Upset did not accurately describe the feelings that she was going through right now.

Anger, sadness, worry, bitter all of these things could describe her at the moment as she struggled to connect two wires together for some hero kids helmet.

She and Izuku hadn't been talking since the incident at the Summer Camp had happened not for lack of the latter trying. Every time Mei would either ignore him or simply walk away from him and don't even remind her how angry she would get if he asked *why* she was acting this way.

Why wouldn't she be acting this way when he almost got himself killed!?

Does he even know how worried she was!? She was constantly texting him once the news came out about what happened at the Summer Camp and he didn't text him back until after he had gone off to save Bakugou from that guy who was keeping up with All Might!

All Might! The number one hero was struggling to beat that villain up and Izuku still just shot up into he fray to save explosion boy without a thought about the consequences.

He hadn't even gone home to Inko-san before he decided to do it either, didn'the know how luck he was to have her supporting his dreams and worrying about him!?

"Stupid Izu." She muttered as she rubbed the dirt and oil from her cheek. "Idiot, worrying everyone like that."

"Oi, goggles."

Oh, oh no. She did not have the energy to deal with him of all people right now.

Unfortunately Bakugou Katsuki didn't right care for how an extra like her felt about his presence, instead the main issue for her problems with her boyfriend walked in with his hands in her pockets and glaring red eyes staring into her narrowed yellow ones.

"Go away, I'm in the middle of fixing someone else's equipment so you'll have to wait."

She heard him click his tongue as she turned back to her work.

"I'm not here for that, I'm here to tell you to leave Deku alone."

Mei stopped. "W-what?"

"The shit nerd has been mopey ever since we've gotten into this stupid dorm system and I know you have something to fucking do with it. I don't even know why he got with you in the first place when it's nothing but a distraction."

That-that actually made Mei wilt a little bit, she missed the way Katsukis voice seemed to waver for a moment at his sentence before returning to it's gruff and angry form. She knew that Izuku would be affected by their loss of contact but so was she! She hated being so far from him, she couldn't work properly, her meal schedule was all screwed up because Izuku wasn't there to come and get her or bring food to her and she was all sweaty and dirty and hadn't showered in ages!

"The damn nerd has enough on his plate without some weirdo—"

"I'm not weird!"

The abruptness in the way she stood up startled Katsuki for a moment, she turned to him and marched straight up to the boy her eyes filling with tears as she glared up at the boy.

"I'm not weird! Izuku said so, he always says that he likes me the way I am, that I'm normal that I don't have to act like everyone else just because my mind is different."

She jabbed a finger into the blondes chest as he growled in response.

"Besides, who are you to have any say in what happens between us, you're not even Izukus friend so you don't get to say what I can or can't do. I'm not going to break things off with him just because of what you think about me. If Izuku wants to be sad then—then that's his fault this time for worrying and hurting me so much when he went to go save you!"

God that hurt to say, it really, REALLY hurt to say that out loud but she was right. No matter how much it hurt she was right and she wouldn't budge on it.

Mei Hatsume doesn't back down from anything.

"I haven't cared about how people thought about me for years and I'm not going to start just because of you blasty!"

For a moment, the support room was filled with nothing but the blissful sound of silence.

BOOM

But only for a moment.

"Why you little bi—"

Before he could get another word out Mei blinked in surprise as she watched Izuku appear seemingly out of nowhere and yank the blonde away from her and threw him towards the door.

"Deku."

"Outside Bakugou. Now."

Meis eyes widened a little bit and the tone the boy had took with the other, judging by his expression blasty hadn't exactly expected it either. She shared a glance between herself and her boyfriend before he went outside with his childhood friend. It took around ten minutes before she saw him again, judging by the yelling, loud explosions and scorch marks on his uniform it hadn't been a pleasant one.

"S-sorry about that…Kacchan won't bother you like that again."

She turned away from him with a huff causing him to sigh.

"Mei I…" He paused. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize how my actions affected you and I—Mmpph!?"

Mei practically launched herself at the boy, her lips crashing into his and her arms wrapping around and keeping him close. She felt him slowly lean into the kiss, his own arms wrapping around her waist as she tangled her fingers into his hair.

She'd missed doing this.

"M-Mei?" He asked flustered as they pulled apart. "W-wha—"

"No time! I've been struggling all day to get this baby right and I can't get it to power on again!'

Izuku blinked before giving her a laugh that had Mei beaming, she liked it when he did that. He just went with her flow no matter how chaotic it was. He didn't care about how smelly she was or that he wasn't as girly as Ochako or as feminine as that pink classmate of his. No, he liked that she was different and honestly?

That was all Hatsume needed.
