"The Owl House: The Grom."
ME: It was a peaceful morning in the Boiling Isles. At the Owl House, however, for Luz, it was the opposite. Luz was in her room, throwing clothes out of her treasure chest. Eda comes into the room, wearing a black suit over her dress.
EDA: Uh, something wrong, kiddo?
LUZ: Oh, no, no, no, I'm GREAT! *laughs* I-I just need to figure out what to wear for Grom! I'm fiiiine….
EDA: Are you going to be Grom Queen this year?
LUZ: No, which means I can ask Amity to be my Grom date. But, but what if she says no? What if she makes fun of me? I-I mean, I know she's already my girlfriend, but asking her is a WHOLE different level of fear!
EDA: Luz, take a deep breath.
LUZ: *inhales/exhales*
EDA: Better?
LUZ: *sigh* Yeah, I'm better. Thanks, Eda.
EDA: Would you like some help?
LUZ: I'd love that.
ME: Meanwhile, at Blight Manor, Amity was talking to her father, Alador.
AMITY: So, Dad, since Hexide is having another Grom, I was wondering if-
ALADOR: You need my help to help you ask out your girlfriend. Don't you?
AMITY: *blushes* Y-Yeah…how'd you know?
ALADOR: Mittens, you have been gushing over Luz since you and her fought off that Slitherbeast. *laughs* You are terrible at hiding your feelings.
AMITY: So, do you have any advice?
ALADOR: Just say "Hey, Luz! Would you like to be my Grom date?"
AMITY: "Hey, Luz! Would you like to be my Grom date?" Got it!
ALADOR: Now go to school.
ME: Alador kisses Amity's forehead, which makes her smile.
ALADOR: I love you, sweetheart.
AMITY: I love you, too, Dad. *leaves*
ME: At Hexide, banners and balloons were all over. Everyone's lockers had roses in them, and Abominations were giving the students who were being asked to Grom letters.
GUS: So, who are you gonna ask to Grom?
WILLOW: Hmm, maybe Hunter. I mean, this would be his first dance. And even though we would just go as friends, I think we'll have a lot of fun.
HUNTER: What would be fun?
WILLOW: Well, Hunter, I was just telling Gus that I was going to ask you to be my Grom date.
HUNTER: *blushes* Like…like a dance?
WILLOW: Yep!
HUNTER: I…I'd LOVE to go! I-I mean…uh…. *blushes*
WILLOW: Cool! Well, I'll see you tonight.
HUNTER: *blushes* Yeah, yeah…tonight.
AMITY: GUYS!
HUNTER: Amity!
GUS: What's going on?
AMITY: *panting* I-I wanna…I wanna….
GUS: Spit it out, woman.
AMITY: I wanna ask Luz to be my Grom date!
HUNTER: Why?
AMITY: Because she's my girlfriend?
HUNTER: But isn't that already enough? Like, what's the point if you two are already dating?
AMITY: Luz is the most amazing woman I have ever met! She's the reason Willow and I made amends, SHE'S the reason I stood up to my Mom, and SHE'S my first love! How could I NOT ask her?! *blushes*
WILLOW: AWWW!
HUNTER: Oh, uh, that's…sweet, I guess.
GUS: If you feel that way about her, then just come right out and say it to her face.
AMITY: *sigh* I WISH it was that simple. My anxiety just keeps getting in the way. In fact, on the way here, I pretended that Tinella Nosa was Luz, and I asked her. You wanna know what I said?
WILLOW: What?
AMITY: *sigh* "Hey, Luz! Remember that…uh..uh…oh! Remember the kiss that w-we had in my room? Yes! MY room! *laughs nervously* Well, you know what? I love you! I wanna scream your name from the Titan's head! I WANNA TELL THE WORLD THAT I, AMITY BLIGHT, AM IN LOVE WITH LUZ NOCEDA, THE HUMAN! *laughs*"
HUNTER: Yikes.
AMITY: You see? That wasn't even CLOSE to what I wanted to ask her!
WILLOW: Just take a deep breath and say what's in your heart.
AMITY: Do you think that will work?
WILLOW: My Dads have been telling me that all my life. Trust me, Amity.
AMITY: *sigh* Thanks, Willow. By the way, where is Luz?
GUS: Hmm, don't know. Maybe she's getting ready for Grom?
AMITY: Maybe. Well, anyways, I better get going. I mean, whether Luz and I go together or not, it'd make sense to at least be prepared.
HUNTER: Now that I think about it, shouldn't I wear a suit or something for this event?
WILLOW: Yeah, and I can help you.
HUNTER: Awesome! I mean, uh, cool.
ME: Right after Amity leaves, Luz runs towards Hunter, Willow, and Gus.
LUZ: *panting* You guys! I…oh, wow…I need….
WILLOW: What is it, Luz?
LUZ: *clears throat* I need your help. I wanna ask Amity to Grom, but I have no idea how! She's smart, cool, classy, funny, beautiful, and just the most amazing witch in the Boiling Isles! Can you guys help me?
ME: Willow and Gus smirk at each other.
WILLOW: Like my Dads tell me, just speak from your heart.
LUZ: Speak from my heart, huh? *snaps fingers* I got it! *runs off* Thanks, guys!
GUS: *sigh* Those two need some help.
ME: Later that evening, back at the Owl House, Luz was holding up two outfits as she was trying to decide. Eda was sitting on the living room sofa.
LUZ: What do you think, Eda? Should I go with my otter costume, or my witch dress?
EDA: Hmm, knowing you, I think you would choose the otter.
LUZ: True, but I wanna look enchanting for Amity. She's my Hermosa Princesa!
EDA: Well, that's sweet, but I doubt that she'll care about your outfit.
LUZ: Hmm, maybe. I'm gonna try the witch dress real quick.
ME: Luz walks away to go put the dress on. After about a minute or two, she comes back. She's also wearing a yellow headband and her hair is slicked back, like her first Grom.
LUZ: What do you think?
EDA: You look cute! I'm sure Amity will love it.
LUZ: *blushes* And I'm sure I'll love her Grom outfit.
ME: The next day went by and at Hexide, Hunter was sent to Principal Bump's office.
BUMP: Hunter, I just want you to know that you're not in trouble.
HUNTER: Then why am I here?
BUMP: You're the next Grom King!
HUNTER: Cool! Does that mean I get a wicked crown to put on my head, or-
BUMP: You and your Grom Queen will have to face Grom itself.
HUNTER: Wait, Grom is something I have to fight?
BUMP: That's right. Now, do you know who the Grom Queen is?
ME: Hunter shakes his head.
BUMP: It's…Willow!
HUNTER: *blushes* Really? *squeals*
BUMP: Uh, please don't do that.
HUNTER: *clears throat* Sorry. So, when can I fight this thing?
BUMP: Tonight. Oh, and one more thing.
HUNTER: Sure, what's up?
BUMP: Grom will transform into your deepest, darkest, most personal fear. So good luck out there.
HUNTER: *gulps*
ME: That afternoon, Luz was sitting in the cafeteria. Amity walks by her and accidentally bumps her back with her food tray.
AMITY: Oh!
LUZ: Ouch!
AMITY: Uh, hey, Luz!
LUZ: *blushes* Oh! H-Hey, Amity…uh….
AMITY: *blushes* Can…can I talk to you?
LUZ: Sure, Hermosa! What's up?
AMITY: Well…you know that Grom is…tonight….
LUZ: Mm-hmm!
AMITY: And…and….I was-
LUZ: Amity?
AMITY: I was wondering if your-YOU! *laughs nervously* You'd like to….
LUZ: Uh, are you feeling okay?
AMITY No!
LUZ: What's wrong?
AMITY: I-I mean…YES! Yes, I am great! *laughs* Because I, Amity Blight, AM LUZ'S AWESOME GIRLFRIEND! HER WHOLESOME, MAGIC SWEETHEART!
LUZ: *blushes* Uhhhh….
AMITY: I-I'm sorry, Luz! It…it's just….
ME: Amity runs off in embarrassment. Luz runs after her.
LUZ: Amity, wait!
ME: Amity eventually arrived at the Owl House. When she came inside, she saw Eda looking at herself in a golden hand mirror.
EDA: Dang, girl. You rock.
AMITY: Um, Eda?
EDA: Oh, hey, Boots.
AMITY: I screwed up.
EDA: What did you do?
AMITY: I made a complete IDIOT out of myself at Hexide today. I tried to ask Luz to-
ME: Amity was interrupted by the front door opening.
LUZ: Amity?
AMITY: *gasps* Luz! H-How did you know that I was-
LUZ: Hooty told me that you were inside. Amity, what's the matter with you? I'm your girlfriend. You can talk to me.
AMITY: *sigh* Can we sit on the couch?
LUZ: *nodds* Eda, can you give us a minute?
EDA: Sure thing, kiddo. I should probably triple-check with King on how I look. *leaves*
ME: Luz and Amity hold hands as they walk to the couch. Once they sit on it. Luz has Amity's head on her right shoulder.
LUZ: Are you okay?
AMITY: I wanted to ask you to be my Grom date.
LUZ: *gasps* Really?
ME: Luz smiles as her eyes sparkle.
AMITY: *blushes* Mm-hmm. I was so scared of rejection that I ended up making a fool of myself at Hexide.
LUZ: I actually thought that that was very sweet.
AMITY: Thanks.
LUZ: Can I tell you something?
AMITY: Sure.
LUZ: I was gonna ask you to be MY Grom date.
AMITY: What?!
LUZ: Yep!
AMITY: *blushes* B-But I-I…I mean, I-
LUZ: *laughs* Amity, it's okay.
AMITY: Well, I know that! But-
LUZ: But what?
AMITY: But I was thinking that YOU were gonna say no!
LUZ: *laughs* Why would I say that to the woman I love more than anything in the Boiling Isles?
AMITY: *blushes*
LUZ: Amity, I want you to be by my side for the rest of my life. Of course I want to go to Grom with you!
AMITY: *blushes* Luz!
ME: The two girls kiss.
LUZ: W…Wow….
AMITY: *blushes* What just happened?
LUZ: I-I mean, it's not the first time! R-Right? *blushes*
AMITY: *laughs*
ME: The two stare into each other's eyes for a moment. Amity then kisses Luz's forehead. Luz starts to sing.
LUZ: *sings* And no more hiding how we feel anymore.
AMITY: *sings* I won't hide if you're by my side.
LUZ: *sings* Now that the Grom is back on track. And once we walk through that gym hand in hand….
LUZ & AMITY: *sing* It's pretty obvious there's no going back!
AMITY: *sings* And that's a promise! Before I met you, I was a mess. Not honest with myself, I confess.
LUZ: *sings* I was so lonely, a total wreck. Just sad and hopeless. Check, double check.
LUZ & AMITY: *sing* Then something new happened, and turned my life around entirely. And that's 'cause you happened.
LUZ: *sings* And said you'd go to Grom with-
AMITY: *sings* Said you'd go to Grom with-
LUZ & AMITY: *sing* Said you'd go to Grom with…me….! Look what happened to me.
ME: They stop singing as Amity kisses Luz, which makes her eyes sparkle again.
AMITY: Luz?
LUZ: Yes, Amity?
AMITY: *clears throat* Stand up.
ME: Luz and Amity both stand up. Amity picks Luz up.
AMITY: Annnnd scoop!
LUZ: *blushes* Ay, Dios Mio!
ME: That night, Luz and Amity arrived at Hexide. Luz was wearing her black witch dress, and Amity was wearing her Abomination dress. The two saw Eda standing next to Principal Bump, Gus and Mattholumule slow dancing, Skara and Boscha slow dancing, and Hunter and Willow by the bowl of kid-friendly Apple Blood.
LUZ: Well?
AMITY: What?
LUZ: Wanna dance?
HUNTER: Stop!
ME: Everyone stopped to see Hunter holding his palisman, Flapjack.
HUNTER: Where's Willow?
WILLOW: Hunter? What's going on?
HUNTER: You're my Grom Queen, and we need to face this beast together. *blushes*
WILLOW: Okay.
ME: That's when Grom started to rise up like an ocean wave and it then grabbed Willow and SLAMMED her to the ground.
ALL: *gasp*
HUNTER: Willow! Alright, you ugly fiend. Time to die!
ME: As Hunter got on Flapjack and flew in the air, Grom turned into his greatest fear: Belos.
BELOS: Hunter?
HUNTER: No….
BELOS: Why, don't be scared. It's me. Uncle Belos.
HUNTER: No! It…you're not him!
BELOS: After all this time, you still don't understand that I was just trying to protect you? My nephew?
WILLOW: Leave him alone, Grom!
HUNTER: Y-Yeah! You killed Caleb! Your brother!
BELOS: *growls*
ME: That's when "Belos'" eyes glowed blue and formed into a giant spider.
BELOS: Don't you DARE say his name again! He was nothing but a traitor to his kind!
HUNTER: He fell for a witch! And you know what? So did I!
WILLOW: Huh? Who did you fall for?
ME: Hunter looks at Willow and blushes. Willow stares at him in awe as she realizes.
BELOS: That's it!
ME: As Grom tries to use one of its spider hands to grab Hunter, Amity creates a Spell Circle to make an Abomination hand come out and grab "Belos'" throat. Luz uses a fire glyph to blast Grom, which makes it start to die down.
AMITY: It's working!
LUZ: Amity?
AMITY: Yeah?
LUZ: Wanna do this one together?
AMITY: Lumity for life?
LUZ: *nodds* Lumity for life.
ME: Amity makes another Spell Circle and then Luz uses her plant glyph to make vines wrap around the Grom spider. Grom collapses and turns into goop. The kids won!
HUNTER: Yeah!
LUZ: Woo-hoo!
AMITY: We did it!
ME: Amity kisses Luz's left cheek. Luz turns around and smiles.
LUZ: AWWW!
ME: Luz puts her hands on Amity's cheeks and the two kiss.
WILLOW: Gosh, they're so cute together!
HUNTER: Yeah, not bad. Uh, so, um…about that "I fell for a witch too" thing, I-
ME: Willow grabs Hunter's cheeks and kisses him. Hunter blushes but then closes his eyes.
HUNTER: Oh…bloody Titan.
WILLOW: *blushes* Did I just do that?
HUNTER: *blushes* GAH! Did I just SAY THAT?
LUZ & AMITY: *laugh*
EDA: Well, Luz, shall we get this Grom party started?
ME: Luz and Amity look at each other and smile. Eventually, everyone started dancing. Hunter and Willow slowly danced as they looked into each other's eyes. Luz and Amity did the same thing. Eda was holding King as they danced.
KING: So, why are you doing this again?
EDA: Ah, I might as well dance with somebody, right?
ME: "Wholesome, Magic, Steady" by Matt Chapman starts playing. Luz and Amity were familiar with this song since it was the same one that Hooty played as they went through the Tunnel of Love.
AMITY: *blushes* Oh, Titan. *laughs*
LUZ: *laughs* I know, right? Ugh, how embarrassing. And yet…wholesome.
ME: The two kissed once again as the music played.
SONG: Will you be my steady? (steady) My wholesome magic steady (wholesome magic steady). I'll conjure you some flowers, we could hold wholesome hands for hours. Will you be my sweetheart? AMITY: *sings* 'Cause you're the only one I want to be my wholesome magic sweetheart.
LUZ: Amity?
AMITY: Yes, Luz?
