"We'll be sure to give you a call if anything comes up!" Dean called after Booth as he made his way to his vehicle.

Once he knew the agent was out of earshot, Dean turned to his brother with a weary expression.

"I don't know about this, Sam..." Dean said, wiping the sweat off the back of his neck.

"You know feds make me nervous, besides what if this is just an animal attack?" Dean offered, looking up at his brother.

"You really think that's an animal attack?" Sam pointed at the body that was carefully being bagged to be transported.

"You heard that agent, it's a possibility..." Dean answered, sounding not at all confident.

"I overheard that doctor, the heart is missing," Sam gave his brother a knowing look, he knew it was obvious what they were dealing with.

"Yeah..." Dean hesitated for a moment before continuing.

"What kind of doctor works with the FBI?" Dean questioned, giving Sam a puzzled look.

"Maybe the forensic kind?" Sam offered.

"Anyway, it's not like we can examine the corpse ourselves. Unless you wanna break into a government lab?" Sam added, raising an eyebrow at Dean.

"So, what... we just wait for another body to show up?" Dean said sarcastically as they walked to their cabin.

Dean swung open the cabin door and stepped down into the small sitting area, where he flopped down into a nearby armchair.

Sam followed suit and sat down on the couch facing the brick fireplace that took up the far left side of the cabin.

"I could see what I can find about that doctor, and maybe our new friend Agent Booth," Sam looked across the way to where Dean was seated.

"Guess that couldn't hurt,"

Brennan stood beside the exam table on the platform, looking down at the remains.

Hodgins was leaning over the body collecting particulates from the clothing, while Angela stood at the end of the table snapping photos of the head, which was still very much intact.

Brennan was focused on what bones she could see, those with the most extensive damage, the rib cage and sternum.

She found it rather puzzling as to how it seemed to have been broken apart, as if something quite large had punched through the ribs and tore out the heart.

"Hodgins, please get any particulates on the ribs," Brennan finally spoke, bringing her gaze to look up at the man on the opposite side of the steel table.

"On it, Dr B," Hodgins responded cheerfully, taking a cotton swab to the jagged edge of the third right rib.

"I'll go put these photos in and let Booth know when I get an ID," Angela announced, turning to walk down the platform stairs to disappear into her studio office.

"Someone call me when the bones are clean, I'm meeting Booth for lunch,"

Brennan quickly made her way down the stairs after Angela and crossed the floor into her office, both leaving Hodgins and the interns to their work.

Once inside her office, Brennan removed her lab coat and draped it over the back of her chair before grabbing her purse and cellphone.

She turned on her cell and typed a quick message to Booth, letting him know she was on her way to meet him when a knock came from behind her, causing her to jump.

"Sorry Bones..." Booth apologized as Brennan turned to face him.

"I was just letting you know that I was on my way," She explained.

"I came to get you... I just got called about another victim,"

"Does this one have a heart?" She questioned curiously.

"Only one way to find out. Come on, we'll take my car," Booth answered as they left the office.

"She's a what now?" Dean questioned.

He had come to sit at the small dining table across from Sam, who was still focused on his laptop in front of him.

"A forensic anthropologist, and she works with the FBI..."

"She and Agent Booth work together, they're sort of the ultimate team," Sam explained, not looking up from the laptop screen.

"She's helped them solve a bunch of murders," Sam added before closing the laptop to look at his brother.

"By just examining the bones? For real?" Dean sounded genuinely impressed.

"Booth has a pretty intense history too, he was an army ranger apparently,"

"Military background, huh..." Dean shook his head.

"I don't see how any of this helps us get a closer look at the body though," He added in a frustrated tone.

"We could call Cas for a favor, see if he could sneak us into that lab?" Sam wondered aloud, giving Dean a questioning look.

"Couldn't hurt to ask," Dean replied before standing from the table.

Brennan looked around as she followed Booth down the short alley nestled between two apartment buildings, the smell of hot garbage and bodily decey assaulting her senses.

"I thought you said this was related to the body in the park?" Brennan inquired when she finally spotted the corpse tucked beside an overflowing dumpster.

"I never said it was, just that it had been called in..." Booth replied, covering his mouth with a handkerchief in a poor attempt to block out the stench.

Brennan bent down to examine the body, this one had similar features as the first body but seemed more intact and didn't have any damage to the sternum or ribcage.

"Do you think it could be related to the first victim, Bones?" Booth questioned, looking down at Brennan.

"I can't know that by just looking at this body, Booth," She replied honestly, though she felt bad for telling Booth the truth.

"I'd hate for them to be related and I'd hate it if they weren't," She quickly added with a sigh.

"Either way it would be bad..." Booth sighed heavily, frowning at the possibility of having a serial killer or multiple murderers on their hands.

"Call someone to take this victim to the lab and I'll have my team exam the remains soon as possible," Brennan announced.
