Chapter 2, Growing up

"Is this information reliable?"

Serious-looking Alipheese the fifteenth said to her mentor and subordinate, Tamamo-no-Mae. Her eyes reread the piece of paper in her hand again and again with something akin to hope in their golden orbs.

"Yes… the Hero's party will likely to arrive in a week's time. Your majesty, are you really going to do that?"

For once after so many years serving the Fateburn family, Tamamo-no-Mae glared at the fifteenth heir with disbelief and no small amount of anger.

And seeing this, even the monster lord cannot be angry.

"I… Yes, unfortunately. If my life can be exchanged for a world peace, where humans and monsters can co-exist, then I'll lay down my life on the Hero's blade. Of course, I won't give him my life without a fight, ufufu~"

The monster lord said carefreely, but with eyes of melancholy as she stares unto the window, watching her barren Continent, Hellgondo.

This smallest but most dangerous Continent has been the place where monsters live for millenniums, where the strong survive and the weak are eaten…

… it's not a good place for a growing child.

"Don't joke around with me!"

The nine-tailed kitsune raged, all of her tails waving dangerously and threateningly on her back.

"Little Alice is still three years old! Are you going to condemn your child to a motherless life!?"

Seeing the fire of anger appears in her mentor's eyes, the monster lord gave the sealed woman a soft smile full of nothing but trust.

She already has a counter for such a question.

"Isn't that better? With how young my daughter right now, she probably won't remember me that much and thus, won't hold grudge for the human race. As for her mother figure, I'm pretty sure you can be my replacement just like how you did for me when I grew"

Anger and disappointment flash in her mentor's eyes. But after a few minutes, the kitsune chose to turn around and walked away from the throne room.

Though, before she can get out, she turned her head to the side.

"You're too hard-headed, so I won't bother talking to you anymore… but remember this, you're too optimistic. When the day the Hero come and kill you appear, I'll do nothing but watch as your plan crumble"

"…"

Alipheese the fifteenth turns silent the moment her mentor said her piece of mind, and before she can even say anything, Tamamo-no-Mae already walked out of the throne room, leaving nothing but silence in her place.

With a heavy heart, Alipheese sat on her throne with shaking, but determined eyes.

She's afraid of death, but if it is for world peace… she will pay the price.

'The dream of my ancestors, I will definitely make it come true'

It is painful.

"C-Come Hero… Finish me off if you dare"

She taunted the purple-haired young man in front of her while laying on her cracked throne. Her royal blood drenching on her body from all of the wounds she received from the Hero.

"Do it Marcellus! She's on her last legs!"

One of the Hero's party members yelled to the purple-haired man.

"Yes… I'm sorry monster lord. But your day of tyranny will be over with my last strike"

Extremely tired, the Hero stood once again while gripping his sword. In his eyes, a new wave of determination can be seen.

Seeing this, Alipheese let out a small, happy smile and closes her eyes, waiting for her death.

This is it…

With her death, a new era of peace between humans and monsters will be realized.

However, even after half a minute passed, Alipheese is yet to feel anything.

Curious, she opened her eyes once again, watching as the four Heroes are no longer having their attention on her, but on something to her right.

That…

That's the direction to her chamber, where she sealed her little daughter.

Dread.

Dread fills her heart as Alipheese tried her best to turn her head to her right, knowing who has made the Heroes turn away their attention away from her.

Tried.

In her state, she can't do anything but to cries as she feels raising dark magic and a wave of anger from her one and only daughter.

"MOOOOOOOM!"

-Present-

"Ugh"

Alipheese woke up with a small groan when she felt a pricked feeling on her left nipple, followed by warmth as someone sucking on said nipple.

No… not someone.

"Geez, you shocked me a little there, my child"

Her arms coiled warmly around Naruto's body as the eight years old boy unconsciously sucking on her breast despite still sleeping.

Why the boy still wants her milk despite he's already so old, Alipheese doesn't really know.

But in the end, she doesn't really mind.

After all, for a human like him, everyday necessities are hard to get in Hellgondo. Hellgondo is a barren land, with so little amount of forest covering some parts of the Continent, and not all of those forests held necessities for a human, whether a monster like her can eat many animals that called Hellgondo their home.

For example, fishes that lived in the other two Continents are safe to eat for humans, but in Hellgondo, fishes are very poisonous for normal humans.

Knock knock

"Your Majesty, you have an appointment in half an hour"

After small knocks were heard from her door, a voice of one of her servants followed, getting a small groan for the large lamia.

"Alright, I'm coming"

Very softly and gently, Alipheese used her fingers to grasp her son's chin and opened his mouth so she can release her breast from his warm mouth.

Sadly, Naruto must continue his breakfast later this day.

With a groan full of unwillingness, Alipheese climbs off of her soft and comfortable bed…

"Mommy's gonna work for now my dear"

After she tucked the small boy into the blanket, Alipheese kiss his forehead lovingly and let her lips rest there for a few minutes while her left hand caressed his soft and plump cheek.

Oh, how she wanted to stay on the bed and pamper her son.

Her little Alice has become a 'big girl' and decided to stop sleeping in the same chamber with the two of them, no longer wanting to be pampered by her mother, unlike Naruto who vowed to do the opposite and will never refuse pampering from her.

"Fufufu~ such a little rebel, that girl"

Slithered away from her bed, Alipheese went to her closet and took her usual dress that cover nothing but her neck and lower part of her large breasts.

Yes, ever since she started to sleep with Naruto, she always sleeps nude so he can drink her milk whenever he wants.

She doesn't want her dear son to feel hungry, after all.

"Hum~ hum~"

After she equipped her dress, Alipheese slithered toward the door to go to her throne room.

Though, before she can open the door, she paused…

"One more kiss~"

She slithered back toward Naruto's position and gave the boy several kisses on his adorable face. Of course, the boy felt it unconsciously and groaned in annoyance, his hands tried their best to push her face away.

Tried, because the moment he did this, Alipheese start another barrage of kisses for her son.

Fufufu~ he's so precious~

-Later-

"One hundred and ninety-nine… two hundred"

Standing in the middle of the castle's training ground, Naruto is currently slashing the sword in his hands downward, again and again, heavy sweat covering his whole body, a sign of his tiredness, though, despite this, he merely continues his training without any sign to stop.

The sword in his hands is a real sword, thus it's pretty heavy, the reason for his exhaustion.

"Alright, let's take a break for now"

Train well.

Rest well.

And eat well.

That was what Granberia once said to him. A key to a great body is a great mind, one that cannot be achieved if he were to train his body so hard that it breaks.

Walked to the castle's veranda, Naruto sat cross-legged. and right after he did this, a maid came and placed a tray of food and drink beside him.

"Thank you, Mei. Have my mother finished her meeting?"

Asking this, Naruto take the apple from the tray and took a small bite while leaving the cup filled with white liquid for now.

He will drink it the moment no one's around.

"You welcome, young master. And yes, her Majesty the Monster Lord just finished her meeting with the Harpy Queen half an hour ago"

"… Hmm, I see"

Harpy Queen?

Naruto doesn't really remember the woman, but he's pretty sure the Queen of Harpies is one among the monsters who accepted him when his dearest Mother decided to adopt him.

Thus, Harpy Queen is one name among the monsters noted in his good book.

And believe him, only a few can get into his good book.

"Say Mei, do you know the name of miss Harpy Queen?"

Naruto called her miss, because he is a Prince, and thus, allowed to call the woman using said -suffix. Though, if he were a common person, then the correct call for someone like Harpy Queen would be 'lady' or 'ma'am'.

He may be a little musclehead sometimes, but he learned some etiquette too, you know~?

"Her lady's name is Lucretia, young Master. Why do you ask? Are you interested in her, perhaps?"

Despite the maid asking that question with a rather blank expression, Naruto has known Mei for so long that he immediately noticed the tell-tale of curiosity dancing in her eyes.

"Fu… not really. Just wanted to know the name of a friend, that's all~"

After Naruto said that, he stood once again, arms stretched a few times so they were good to go to train again.

As a human, he is naturally born weak. He needs to train hard to catch up to his big sister, Alice.

"Is that so…"

Mei's tone was disbelieving, but knowing her personality, Naruto merely rolled his eyes playfully at her. His maid sometimes gossiped too much, honestly.

"Yep, and stop thinking about it too much, Mei. Those stones near your feet won't throw themselves"

"Alright, get ready then, young Master"

After Mei heard her Master's hidden order, she followed suit and stood, her right hand stretched forward, and as she doing this, pebbles around her started to levitate, each pointing their sharper edges toward Naruto.

Without any signal whatsoever, Mei ordered all of the pebbles that were floating to attack Naruto.

And thus, Naruto continues his training.

"So, what do you think of my son?"

A few meters away from Naruto's position, Alipheese let out a proud smile, seeing her son being so hard-working to fulfill his dream.

Beside her, a tall and regal Harpy can be seen… though of course, not as tall as her.

Alipheese's upper body alone is twice the average male height, while the Harpy's overall height is twice the average male average minus slightly.

"He is adorable, your Majesty"

The Queen Harpy said honestly, but with a slight sweatdrop at the side of her head.

Ever since Alipheese Fateburn Fifteenth adopted the human boy named Naruto, it was a well-known fact among all monster royalties that the Monster Lord was very proud of the boy's talent and hard-working nature.

And from said pride, she constantly boasted about her son whenever possible.

Then again, she's not at fault…

For a human, it is said that Naruto is very talented when it comes to magic. He also has a very likable personality that was good enough that the man-hating Erubetie is said to become a mother hen in front of him.

Both are impressive achievements.

"Doesn't he~? Look at that pouting face… so biteable~"

"…"

Once again, Queen Harpy sweatdropped, seeing the Monster Lord she serves having a large blush on her face while staring at her adopted son.

The Monster Lord has forbid anyone to 'touch' the boy before he reaches twelve years old, and her monster subordinates found this order to be acceptable.

For monsters, the day they become ten years old is the day they become an adult. But for human males, the day they reach twelve years old is the day where their life essence can be absorbed by doing sex.

Whether the Monster Lord herself follows her own law, nobody knows for sure.

"… Anyway, your Majesty, I'm curious, what is that white stuff on your son's cup?"

Monster's diet consisted of humans' essences, mostly in the form of human males' semen.

But… there's no way her Majesty gave semen to her son, right?

"Oh? That's my breasts milk. Naruto's diet consisted of my milk because normal food in Hellgondo is pretty scarce"

The two then continue their talk, with Queen Harpy asking the Monster Lord for a suggestion for Harpy's race decrease in offspring.

After Naruto took a bath, he suddenly feels light as his dearest Mother takes him from behind and started carrying him, his face being pressed into her large breast.

"M-Mom! Your startled me"

Naruto pouted, but no apology come out from the lips of his mother.

"Ufufu~ do you want to drink my milk while being carried normally, or, do you want me to use a cradle so you can sleep at the same time, hmm~?"

Yeah… she's totally ignoring his previous statement, even already taking off the part of her dress that covered her breast, making the large breast jiggle a little bit, nipple pointing toward his lips.

Being ignored, Naruto's pout disappears, but he decides to pay her back by biting his dearest Mother's nipple a little bit harder than usual…

Instead of being angry, Alipheese merely joked like that while nuzzling her face into her son's soft hair, kissing the crown of his head with nothing but motherly love.

Slowly, Naruto's bite began to lessen and he in the end simply started sucking on her nipple while looking up at her with wide, doe eyes. A sign when he wants more attention from her.

It is very easy to face a sulking Naruto.

"Hmm~ do you want me to tell you about the meeting this morning?"

The boy on her chest nodded, curiosity in his beautiful blue eyes.

And seeing this, Alipheese let out a small smile.

Unlike Alice that rather read the book to know the state of the world, including the affair of the monsters across the Continents, Naruto keeps his eyes open to the present day.

Of course, this means he would ask her whenever she has the time.

And for him… she will always give her time~

"So, let's start with the state of Slime race this month…"

By the time an hour passed, Naruto has already fallen asleep in her embrace. Something that made Alipheese shake her head a little in amusement.

He didn't want to take a nap, yet here he is, napping.

"My baby is just too cute~"

After muttering this a little, Alipheese giggled, her finger waving in the direction of her closet, and from it, a purple cloth flies out and wraps around her torso, securing Naruto's position and making him more comfortable.

"Hum~ Hum~"

Humming, singing, and slithering around the castle while carrying sleeping Naruto, Alipheese look so happy.

And for the monsters who saw this, one thing passed their minds.

Naruto is a Fateburn… nobody can deny this anymore.

-Two years later-

"Naruto, is this really okay?"

"It's alright, Lucretia. After all, I'm just looking for any sign of my home village"

Flying in the sky, Lucretia let out a small, fear-filled sigh as she flaps her large and regal wings. On her shoulders, Naruto is looking down toward Remina, the fallen City.

The boy, for some reason, has succeeded to convince her to take him out of the Monster Lord Castle.

"… Curious"

Naruto suddenly muttered, his eyes glinting with a child-like curiosity.

And after he muttered this…

He jumped.

"…!"

Despite knowing the boy's great ability to control the very wind itself, Queen Harpy's heart almost jump out of its socket the moment the Monster Lord's heir jumped so suddenly from her shoulders.

Such a bad kid!

Thinking like this, Lucretia folded her wings and follow suit.

Step

A pair of feet and a pair of claws reached the ground softly.

The feet come from a boy look no older than ten years old, his bright blue eyes watching the ruin covered by many vegetations across the once city of Remina.

As for the claws, they come from a gorgeous Harpy woman with silver hair and pinkish violet furs covering her waist down. From her tailbone, a long, spreading soft-looking tail can be seen.

And the moment Lucretia's claws met the ground, she took Naruto and placed him on her shoulders once again.

With him not even a third of her size, he's very light.

"Luceee~ Come on, put me down~ it's an adventure~"

Instead of answering him, Lucretia simply bit his soft thigh on her shoulder as she doesn't have any hand to pinch him.

"Ow… geez, okay, okay"

Not really pained, Naruto merely joked with that 'ow'. One of his hands encircles the woman's head while the other one points forward…

"Let's go that way"

Naruto doesn't really know what to expect in the fallen City, Remina, but he's pretty sure he felt something calling him from that direction just now.

"Are you sure, Naruto? It's not late for us to go back before your Mother decide to punish us both"

"Heh… I'm already out from the Castle, which she forbid me to do. So, I'm pretty sure she'll punish me nonetheless. Though of course~ I want to take my time exploring this city before I face my punishment~"

Naruto said with a small nonchalant giggle.

His dearest Mother, Alipheese has forbid both of her children to step outside of the Castle. And with her sharp nose, the moment Naruto return, her nose will probably notice the change almost immediately.

That is to say, there's no escape once he was out of the Castle.

Sigh

"Is that so, alright then, let's see what we can find here"

Giving up, the Queen Harpy walks slowly into the once lush Remina with saddening eyes. On top of her shoulders, Naruto's eyes held nothing but child-like innocent excitement.

Lucretia took notice of this, despite not being able to see his eyes, his trembling hands alone are enough for her to notice Naruto's excitement.

Seeing this, for a little, Queen Harpy let out a smile.

-Later-

"Hmm, this is suspicious"

Naruto said with a large fox-like grin on his face as he kneeled on the ground while watching a lone white bird-like feather.

Anyone could see he's not really 'suspicious' of the feather, and his grin probably comes from his excitement.

Beside Naruto, Queen Harpy let out a small, tired sigh.

Naruto is just too excitable for her to handle.

"Come on Naruto, it's been an hour, your Mother must be worried by now. And no, it's not suspicious, that feather probably a Harpy's feather, after all, in the massacre of Remina that happened twenty-two years ago, thousands of monsters also died, harpies included"

"… Fufufu, I think you're sleepy, Lucretia"

After he said that mysteriously, Naruto simply took the lone feather and pocketed it. Beside him, Queen Harpy raise one of her eyebrows curiously, wanting to know what he meant by that.

"What do you me-…"

"Get ready, Lucritia. Enemies ahead"

The boy had a distaste face for a small second when his hand went to his waist and found nothing but air. Though despite having no weapon to use, he still cracked his fists with a pair of serious, yet excited eyes.

Of course, Queen Harpy cursed under her breath after she heard what Naruto have said.

To think a Queen that represents the Harpy race found herself and her charge ambushed by unknown enemies, such a disgrace.

Growl

It was then, from behind a rather large tree, a monster that can be called Chimera appear, growling at the two of them.

The upper body is that of a blonde woman with a pair of blank, heterochromatic eyes and elf-like ears. Resting atop her head, is two different horns, with one on the right being demon-like while the left one being a long backward horn.

Her arms, covered by thick purple furs have three, beast-like claws at the edge, clawing on the ground while for her lower body, she has purple, beast yet avian-like legs that force her to stand on all four, attached to this, she has a thick, purple snake-like tail, with the edge of the said tail being opened, showing lewd, pink muscles that dripping with some strange liquid.

To top all of this, she has four large pairs of breasts and a single black bird wing attached to her waist.

"W-What is that?"

"…"

Naruto doesn't know, and thus, he didn't answer the question asked by Queen Harpy. Though he keeps his eyes locked on the monster that currently staring at him like a piece of meat.

She's hungry.

Growl

Heard another growl, from the edge of his eyes, Naruto took notice of another Chimera Beast. This one has her mouth opened, showing him the four extremely long tongues she has.

Such a lewd-looking beast.

"I'm going to catch one"

Naruto said suddenly, getting him a pair of wide eyes from the Harpy.

"What for?"

"I'm just curious about this kind of beast"

And Naruto isn't lying about this. For all intent, he knew many kinds of monsters living in this world, but something like the beasts in front of him, he never heard or read about their kind.

His curiosity needs to be sated.

"Alright, I understand"

Lucretia said, trusting the boy.

He is a Fateburn, every decision must have the intention for the good of the monster race. And from what she had heard, Naruto is the more sensible of the two siblings.

He must have a good intention if he decides to catch one of these beasts.

"… Playful wind"

With a large grin on his face, Naruto suddenly disappear, punching one of the Chimeras on the cheek so hard that she got blown to the tree.

And with that, the beast lost consciousness.

"That… was fast, Naruto"

Lucretia said with a small sweatdrop even though she also did the same with the other beast with a wave of her wing.

But still…

What an anti-climatic and one-sided battle.

"It's not finished though"

Right after Naruto said his sentence, loud growls can be heard around them. One by one, Chimera Beast began to appear and fill the clearing, each having their eyes on Naruto and no one else.

"Hehehe~ come if you really want my body!"

And after he said that, at the same time, several Chimera pounced on Naruto with hungry eyes.

"Are you alright?"

Flying through the air once again, Queen harpy asked this question toward the boy sitting on her shoulders. On her claws, she's grasping the biggest and strongest Chimera Beast they fought.

Of course, said beast is currently unconscious.

"Yep, I'm alright, just tired. How about you Lucretia? I'm pretty sure I saw one tackled you"

Fighting against about a hundred of Chimera, of course he would be tired, so no surprise there.

"Yeah, I'm alright. As a Queen, I'm far more durable than most harpies, you know?"

"Glad to know~"

The boy said with a good-natured laugh, happy that nobody's hurt.

Hearing his laugh, Lucretia can't help but let out her own smile. For some reason, hearing his laugh is very refreshing.

But still, she's curious.

"Say, Naruto. how do you plan to tame something like this?"

Of course, the one Lucretia meant is the Chimera she's holding.

"Ufufu~ secret~"

Uncaring of the woman that suddenly bites on his thigh, Naruto let out a happy laugh.

-later-

"So, what are you going to say for yourself?"

The moment Naruto and Lucretia reached the Monster Lord Castle, the Monster Lord herself slithered toward them with narrowing and definitely upset eyes.

And her eyes are looking at Naruto and no one else, totally ignoring the Queen of the Harpy race and the 'luggage' she brings.

"But Moooom~ I was exploring, you know? It was exciting~"

Jumped off from Lucretia's shoulders, Naruto wasted no time and immediately hugged his Mother that already knelt down to accept him into her embrace.

Maybe seeing his happiness is real and not fake, Alipheese's narrowed gaze disappears and turns into a small smile.

"… Is that so?"

"Un!"

The boy nodded after hearing the question asked, his eyes glinting with nothing but happiness, his arms wrapping around the large neck of his Mother while his face nuzzled on her chin.

"Good. Then for a month, you will not be allowed to walk around, this will be your punishment"

Before Naruto can say anything to retort, the Monster Lord took out a purple cloth from somewhere and wraps Naruto in it in a form of a baby cradle, connecting his body with hers for a month to come.

"M-M-Month!? But mo-"

"Silent"

For the first time in his life, his Mother looked down on him with a glare.

Trembling in nothing but fear, Naruto can only grasp his Mother's huge breast with trembling hands and teary eyes. His mother is angry, really, really angry at him.

"M-M-mommy… I'm sorry"

The boy hiccuped, and seeing this, Alipheese glare lessened a little bit. Her right hand gently pushed her dearest son's face into her nipple after her left hand lowered her dress.

'He must be hungry after his 'exploration''

Her mind thought.

"… Face your punishment like a man if you really want to apologize. But for now, just drink your milk and sleep. You must be tired"

After Alipheese said her order, her son nodded with a muffled "Yes mommy", his face immediately latch onto her breast and began to suck on it.

Doesn't want anyone to see such a scene, Alipeese pulled the cloth over Naruto, totally covering him from the outside eyes.

And with this position and her arms protectively wrapped around her bundled son, Alipheese's eyes went toward the Queen Harpy that already bowing down at her.

Good, she knows her place at the very least.

"Harpy Queen, explain everything from beginning"

"Y-Yes, your Majesty!"

With fear in her tone, the Queen of Harpy began her explanation, starting with Naruto that wanted to explore to 'find the sign of his hometown' till the moment they fought about a hundred mysterious creatures.

And when she heard the words 'mysterious creatures', for a small second, Alipheese's eyes went to the unconscious Chimera beast.

Of course, she also let out a small sigh by this point.

"Next time, do not be fooled, I adopted Naruto when he was a small child. Thus, he doesn't really remember about his so-called hometown"

Despite saying this neutrally toward the Harpy Queen that widened her eyes, Aliphese used her palm that assist her to carry Naruto to pinch his butt a little hard.

Her breast trembled for a small second, probably from Naruto's muffled scream.

Good… he needs to feel some pain so he won't repeat such stupidity.

"So, what's with the beast? For what reason you bring it here?"

"Naruto said he want to tame this beast, Your Highness"

For a few seconds, Alipheese looked down toward her bundled son.

Naruto is a mommy boy, he loves her more than anyone else and everyone within her Castle knows this fact. But still, he lacks friends around his age.

Everyone around him is monsters who are older than him.

This makes him a bit more mature than anyone his age, but this also makes him want to make more friends.

"Alright then, the beast shall be allowed to live"

Alipheese said in the end after a few minutes of thinking.

She cannot give her dearest son a friend around his age, but a pet? Sure.
