Welcome to another chapter! This would be the final update for this fic since this is the chapter I have written so far. Been trying to focus on BIBO for a while and probably come back once I got a single arc done for my other stories. So it would probably be a while before I come back to this.
Anyways, on to the story!

Chapter 4
Another year and a half have passed, it has been exactly three years since Izuku had met Ohma. Three years where he had gone through gruesome training just so he could prepare himself and enter UA. But after experiencing hell and back for those three years, the day has finally come.
The entrance exam of UA university.
The day has finally come, it is now or never. It's time to see whether all his efforts for these three years were fruitful or not.
"Izuku? Are you ready?"
The voice snapped Izuku out of his reverie, looking at his mother he gave her a nod before wearing his shoes.
"Yeah, I got everything!"
"Do you have your tracksuit?"
"Yep, got it in the bag!"
"Your spare clothes? What about a handkerchief? Did you refill your bottle as I told you to? You might get tired and thirsty–" She starts to ramble, making Izuku give an amused sigh.
"Mom! I'll be fine," Izuku smiled at her, making Inko sigh in relent.
"Right, you go out there and be careful."
"I will mom. I'll get going now."
"Good luck!"
"Thanks!"
With those words, Izuku stepped out of the apartment and rushed down the stairs. As he ran down, he could see Katsumi waiting for him.
There she was leaning to the side of a wall, clad in a black jacket and white shirt underneath that shows off her toned yet curvy body. She also wore black shorts along with orange shoes. Completing her full attire.
"There you are, what took you so long?" She perked up when she saw him approach her, looking at him curiously.
"Hey Kacchan, you know how my mom can be, she was a bit worried so she had me pack a lot more stuff." Izuku smiled in fond amusement.
Katsumi snorts at that, "Yeah sounds like her alright. Come on! We're gonna be late if we keep staying around here!" She grunted, making him nod.
"Right!"
Both of them make their way to the station, conversing with each other as they do so. The morning was rather busy, they could see a lot of people making their way through the station to go to work. Both of them could also see a few people their age, possibly planning on joining the entrance exam for UA.
Izuku couldn't help but look around in excitement. UA is the biggest university in Japan, having produced great heroes like All Might and Endeavour. So it would make sense to have a lot of people aiming for the university.
Though then again, the heavy amounts of people on the train caused it to be rather cramped. Both Izuku and Katsumi were pretty much pressed unto each other, making them really aware of each other's bodies.
"There's a lot of people here," Izuku noted, trying to get his mind off the very soft feeling upon him.
"Y-yeah," Katsumi nodded a bit meekly, trying her best to also ignore how close they were.
The ride was a bit awkward with the cramped space but they managed it. Both of them exited the train and headed towards UA.
As they walked, both noticed the building from afar. It was hard to miss, after all, the building was large and very beautiful. Blue is the main color of the building to the many glass planes covering it. White pillars could be seen holding up the large building, framing the massive blue panels and letting them shine in the morning light.
It looks absolutely gorgeous. The sight only made Izuku more excited.
Katsumi elbowed him at the side, "Relax Izuku, I can feel you vibrating from here."
"Right Kacchan, but I'm so excited! We're finally here!"
"Hold your horses dumbass, we still need to pass the exam. Not that I'm worried, I'm me after all!"
Izuku smirked at her, "Someone's confident."
"Of course! I'm gonna ace this test, get into UA and graduate with the highest honors!"
"Well, at least you got your whole life planned out. I'm still worried if I can even enter." Izuku muttered worriedly.
Katsumi pouted at him, "You'll be fine Izuku, besides they lifted the ban on Quirkless entering remember? You'll be fine!"
Izuku nodded at that, "I know, but you can never know if it's just a PR move. I'm just worried really…" He looked away from her, narrowing his eyes slightly.
Katsumi sighed as she heard that, it wasn't exactly a secret that Izuku had it rough. Outside of her, he never really had any other friends since kindergarten after it was revealed he was quirkless. The ridicule and mockery he had received since he was a child had to leave some effects after all.
That doesn't mean she would let it fester.
"Hey chin up! If they turn you away then I'll just follow you. There are plenty of other universities anyways. If they don't take you in then it means they're not worth it!" Katsumi shrugged, making Izuku widen his eyes at her.
"That's sweet Kacchan, but I don't think you should drag yourself down just so you could follow me." Izuku smiled at her, his tone was thankful yet there was some worry in his words.
Katsumi pouted at him, "Doesn't matter, who knows what you would do if I'm not around. I'd rather be there than miss something happening to you."
Izuku shook his head at that, "I can take care of myself you know?"
"Somehow I doubt that."
"Hey!"
Both walked through the gates and headed inside the building, the two were looking through the building with awe in their gaze. The interior looked modern and sleek, it was clean and neat making the whole place have this spotless feel to it.
Both of them make their way towards the line of booths that were prepared for them, on one of the booths was a young lady that looks rather polite. By the time they had arrived, the students in front of her had already finished their registration and allowed them to make their way toward her.
Izuku let Katsumi get herself settled first, content to take it after her. He'd rather take his time before he actually entered, he was sure that the people would make a note of his quirkless nature and that might make things messy.
It didn't take long for Katsumi to be finished with her registration, allowing him to come face to face with the young lady inside the booth. Now that he was standing in front of it, he could properly see there were also some other miscellaneous items inside. A computer with a cable attached to it, possibly to charge it. Some papers, a few pens, and a stapler. All in all, pretty average items.
"Welcome to UA! May I have your name and ID number? I need to check the database to sort you." She asked with a practiced polite smile.
"Ah right, my name is Izuku Midoriya and my ID number is–" Izuku proceeded to explain, giving all the necessary info needed for her to find his name in the database.
She then nodded when she found it, "Alright here it is! Izuku Midoriya, age 18 and…Quirkless?" She noted in slight shock, looking at him with wide eyes.
Izuku pointedly tried to avoid her gaze, shrugging his shoulders as he did so. "There's nothing wrong with that right?" He asked a bit uncomfortably.
The lady seemed to realize that she was making him uncomfortable, "Ah my apologies! There's no trouble with that, the ban on quirkless was lifted after all…" She trailed off awkwardly, trying her best to salvage the situation.
"Right, I just…wanted to give it a try you know? Best I give it my all instead of just wallowing on what-ifs." Izuku smiled at her, trying to help her get back into the rhythm of things. It was clear his reaction had thrown her off somewhat.
The woman nodded at that, while it was usually thought impossible for Quirkless to be heroes, there was an odd sense of confidence in the boy before her. He was very well built, but instead of looking intimidating, he feels protective. His presence feels like he was trying to assure everyone that things will be fine. It was faint, but it was there.
It strangely reminded her of All Might, in terms of mannerism at least.
She then pulled open the drawer underneath her desk and started searching for something before pulling out a card with his name attached to it. There's also a clip that was attached to the card. She passed it over to the boy before her.
"There you go! The letter on the card there is where you're supposed to be. It says D on the card, so you need to be in Exam Hall D. Just follow the signs we have prepared and it will send you straight to it!" She instructed him clearly, clearly having practiced it for a while.
Izuku nodded as he took the card, clipping it to his jacket as he did so. "Right, thank you miss!"
"No problem and good luck!" She smiled at him, for once looking slightly more genuine than before.
With a thankful nod, he turned away from the booth and made his way toward Katsumi who was waiting for him at the side. But as he made his way toward her, he could notice a few people staring at him. The majority of them were pretty near to the booth he was in, allowing him to have a pretty good guess as to why they were staring. They must have overheard him being quirkless.
"You're done?" Katsumi asked as he neared her.
"Yeah…Let's go." He nodded at her a bit distractedly.
Katsumi observed him, "You alright?"
"Yeah I'm fine, come on we're gonna be late." Izuku tried to avoid it, making her narrow his eyes but decided not to push. He must be nervous.
Both make their way towards the hall, one with an air of confidence and the other with an air of nervousness.
By the time they had reached the exam hall, it was already about to start. Making them rush towards their assigned seats. It didn't take long before an announcer came out and announced the start of the exam.
The written test was quiet but had a faint sense of tension. The test was hard but Izuku did his best to answer all of them. After it was done, Izuku quietly passed it back to the exam monitor.
After that was done, it would be time for the oral exam. They didn't really explain much other than the fact that they would be asked some questions. Usually, the questions would be on the spot and not really anything that they need to read up on. So they just need to answer truthfully and as best as they can.
Both Izuku and Katsumi waited until their names were called. Katsumi was called first, making her stand up, and went into a room prepared for the questioning session.
As she was inside, Izuku couldn't help but fidget. Glancing around, he could sense some of the other students here staring at him. He could recognize that they were the people from before and from the looks of it, they had spread the word with their friends since the number of people staring at him had increased.
Izuku couldn't help but feel a little irritated, he knows that quirkless are pretty rare and all but do they have to stare so hard?
"From exam hall D, Izuku Midoriya!"
He perked up as his name was called, making him stand up as he made his way towards his assigned room. As he walked towards it he could see Katsumi exiting the room, an odd look could be seen on her.
"Hey Kacchan, how did you do?" He asked
Katsumi hummed before looking at him properly, "I…don't know honestly, it feels a little strange but I think I did well enough."
Izuku tilted his head in confusion, "Strange how?"
The blond shrugged, "Beats me, not sure how to describe it. I guess it's like they're dissecting me if that makes any sense?"
"Well they are interviewing us, so I guess that it does make sense."
A rather loud cough could be heard, the kind that tries to catch someone's attention. Looking at the source, both could see one of the staff staring at them, using their head to gesture towards the room beside them.
"Sorry!" Izuku apologized sheepishly before looking back at the blond, "Right, gotta go!"
"Good luck Izuku," Katsumi smiled as she tapped the side of his arm, making him smile even wider before he turned around and entered the room.
Right as the door shut close, his mouth hung open.
Right there, sitting right behind the table was the 18+ Hero Midnight and Present Mic themselves. Looking at him with smiles on their faces, amused by his shock.
"This better not be a dream," Izuku muttered to himself.
Mic grinned widely at the verdette, "Last I checked I'm pretty real."
Izuku slowly starts to laugh excitedly, "Oh my god you're Present Mic! I follow all your podcasts and your work on giving voices to mutants that feel discriminated against is amazing!" He gushed.
"Well, always glad to have a fan, little listener!" The man laughed
"Midnight! You're the reason why they changed the rules on how much skin could be shown for hero costumes! You even have your own line of perfume brands and despite your image, you managed to become quite the inspiration for a lot of women out there!"
Midnight laughed softly, "Yeah that surprised me as much as it did everyone, turns out my whole act is empowering in a certain way. Who would have known huh?"
"Man, can I have your autographs?" Izuku asked excitedly as he pulled out his notebook.
"Sure little listener! Why don't you sit down first? Standing around like that is going to be tiring for you." Mic gestured to the seat in front of them, making the verdette nod as he passed his notebooks towards the hero.
Izuku comfortably sat down on the chair, looking at the two heroes with bright eyes. The two heroes can't help but chuckle as they saw this. It's always nice to see such a bright person.
"Now then, in all that excitement I think you're forgetting you're in an interview right now." Midnight reminded him, making him blush in embarrassment.
"Ah, right I'm really sorry for that." Izuku apologizes sheepishly, now that he has realized where he was his nervousness is starting to come back.
"Don't sweat it! We did expect a fan to make their way here one way or another after all!" Mic laughed as he waved it off, looking down at his notebook as he read through it.
'Huh, this analysis isn't exactly half bad…' Mic thought to himself as he skimmed through it.
Midnight, noticing that Mic was distracted, decided to pick things up for him, "So as you would know, we'll be asking you a couple of questions. There's not exactly a right or wrong answer, so try your best to answer them alright?"
"Yes ma'am!" He nodded, using the breathing technique that Ohma had taught to keep his head straight.
"Ok, so the first question would be a pretty simple one. Why do you wish to be a hero?" She asked with a hint of a calculating glint that could be seen in her eyes.
Thanks to the training with Ohma increasing his senses, Izuku managed to pick it up. But he decided to ignore it. They are here to judge him after all.
"Well, the short answer is to be a hero like All Might."
"Like All Might? Going around punching villains while flexing for the camera?" Midnight asked for clarification, though there was an amused smile but some hidden resigned tone to her.
Izuku surprisingly shook his head, "Not like that, I guess to be more accurate I want people to feel like they would be safe once I'm around. To know that the moment I'm there everything is going to be just fine. Exactly how they felt when they saw All Might. That's why I want to be a hero."
Midnight nodded at that, "I see, that's a pretty lofty goal. Not everyone can give off that kind of feeling you know? How do you think you can achieve that?" She asked with curiosity could be heard in her tone.
Izuku smiled sheepishly, "Honestly I don't really know, so far all I'm thinking right now is to prove myself. Build up my own reputation slowly but surely. That kind of feeling can only come from really seasoned pros that everyone knows. So it's going to take a while before I can achieve my dream."
"Well you're not exactly wrong there, it's an admirable goal Midoriya. Now, let's proceed to the next question shall we?" She asked, causing him to nod in agreement.
"Alright, second question! Here's a hypothetical scenario for you. You're at the end of a bank robbery, you could see one seemingly injured civilian and a villain running away. You are the only hero around and the reinforcement won't be coming for a while. The villain is also escaping and you know that if you don't chase him they will escape. But the civilians are possibly injured and there's a chance that they might get worse if no one helps them." Midnight explained, making Izuku nod as an answer already came to his mind.
"So what would you choose? Chase down the villain and potentially let a civilian die? Or save the injured civilian and let the villain escape so they can cause mayhem for another day? It should be noted that the civilian's status is unknown so you could be letting the villain go just because you thought a perfectly fine civilian was injured."
Izuku looked at her with complete confidence, "I'll save the civilian."
Midnight raised an eyebrow at that, "You seem pretty confident in your answer."
"I know I might regret not taking down the villain, but I know I will regret it even more for not helping another person that needs it. It doesn't matter the situation, innocent life comes first. I probably get a lot of setbacks for that choice but I'll live with it. If I want to be a hero like All Might, then that will always be my preferred choice." Izuku answered with a completely serious look, making her nod. The verdette could also notice a small hint of satisfaction in her features via his eyes. It seemed like she liked his answer.
"Well then, I've been quiet for a while now so I'll ask the final question! What is a hero?" Mic asked, passing the notebook to Midnight after he had signed his signature on the page dedicated to him.
"What is a hero?" Izuku looked down at that, a hint of confusion could be heard in his tone.
Mic nodded, "Yes, what is a hero? To you what makes a person a hero in your eyes? Is it their quirk? Their deeds? Their personality? If you need some time to answer then feel free, it's a tricky one."
Izuku hummed as he cupped his chin, his mind mulling over how to answer the question. He already knows what makes a hero but he's not sure how to describe it. It's like having a mental image of the answer but unsure of how to describe what makes up the image.
"A hero should be someone that always tries their best." He began, making both heroes raise an eyebrow at the rather basic answer. Something that the verdette noticed as he quickly tried to fix his answer. "To be more specific! A hero is someone that helps people, it doesn't matter how, as long they help people to the best of their abilities. Their reason can vary of course, but if they keep doing their all to help the people around them, then that's already enough for me."
Midnight hummed at that, looking down at the page dedicated to her with a slightly amused look. There were many little notes commenting on how beautiful she was, not that she was surprised of course. If anything it was expected. But she did note down that the young man had also put down her skill sets and even the ways she used her quirk. While it in itself wasn't that impressive but the thing that caught her eye was the sheer detail of how he had analysed it.
But she's getting off track now, she still has the young man to grade.
"Interesting answer, but there's been this talk about fake heroes recently. What about those types of heroes? They still help people after all, do they count as heroes?" Midnight questioned, curious about his answer.
Izuku blinked at that, he had heard about such things before on the internet.
"About fake heroes. The more common argument about it is that the heroes are doing things for money and fame. Making them lose the inherent sense of heroism. But in all honesty, I don't really see it as a problem. Like I said before, as long as they do their best to save and help people, they count in my eyes." Izuku answered, making the woman nodded.
"Well then, that's all the questions we have. Here's your notebook, thank you for your time and you're free to leave now." Midnight thanked him with a smile.
Izuku nodded before he took his notebook, "Thanks! I'll be on my way then!"
With that, the verdette gets up from his seat and left the room.
"So, that's the quirkless kid huh?" Mic remarked the moment the door closes, making the woman nod. Izuku was the only quirkless kid that had registered for the Hero course. So it has made the majority of the staff curious about him.
"Yep, he's brighter than I expected him to be honest. With the way the quirkless used to be treated when they were still common, it's surprising to see him having such an optimistic outlook." Midnight noted.
"Speaking of bright, the kid is smart. Like hella smart, I haven't seen notes and theories that detailed in a while! Closest I can compare it to is Nezu."
"Yeah better stop there, I'd rather not have the principal get his paws on him." Midnight chuckled though there was a sense of terror in her tone.
"Understandable. What do you think about his answers?"
"Simple and straight to the point, yet filled with hope and optimism if that makes sense. Aizawa would roll his eyes at the answer, but I personally find it endearing." Midnight smiled.
"In other words, a pretty good candidate for the hero course. Though I do think he's a bit rough around the edges, the kid hides it well but he's a nervous wreck the entire time." Mic snickered a bit.
"It could be just the pressure getting to him but we can always fix that." Midnight noted, "Anyways, time to prepare for the next examinee."
"Right!"
Outside, Izuku could be seen making his way toward Katsumi. A bit of an incredulous look could be seen on his face.
"So how did it go?" She asked.
"Why didn't you tell me there were gonna be pros inside?" He asked instead, making her smirk in amusement.
"And turn you into a more nervous wreck than usual? Fat chance!"
"I'm not that bad." He muttered, trying to defend himself.
"And I'm not the best at what I do. Sure." She snorted, making him huff.
Both then make their way towards another area, they were instructed to head towards the gym now that they have finished the oral exam.
By the time they had reached the gym, there were already a considerable amount of people there. Izuku was sure it was not everyone that participated in the entrance exam due to them being separated by letters assigned to them. But still, the number of people at the gym was still rather considerable.
Both Izuku and Katsumi stayed by each other as they waited for the next part of the exam to start. As they did, both could hear the whispers.
"Hey isn't that the quirkless kid?"
"You sure? They're pretty rare these days."
"The lady at the booth pretty much shouted it out for me to hear! I'm sure!"
"The fuck a quirkless doing here anyway?"
Katsumi narrowed her eyes when she heard them, a growl building up from her throat. It was clear who they were talking about after all, and all these whispers are starting to piss her off. However, Izuku grabbed her arm, catching her attention. He shook his head, trying to tell her that it was not worth it. All he received was a clicked tongue in return as she looked away from him.
"May I have your attention!"
All of the examinees looked towards the source of the voice before they all started murmuring, there before them was Ectoplasm himself. His prosthetics clicked on the ground loudly as he stepped up on the podium near them.
Some of the people here were clearly his fans as a good amount of them started pulling out their phones to capture a photo of him or record him. The hero himself was either ignorant of it or decided not to focus on it.
"Now that I have your attention I'll keep this brief. You will now participate in the physical portion of the entrance exam. First, you'll be doing a series of physical apprehension tests. It won't be anything too strenuous, if anything it'll be pretty similar to how your old High School did it." The hero explained, causing the crowd to murmur but they seemed to understand what he was saying.
"Then comes the second part of the physical portion. You will all have a one-on-one sparring match with an opponent of your choosing. We have prepared a list of opponents you can choose from. Quirk usage is allowed, in fact, it is recommended for you to use them in this section of the exam. We are here to see how effective you can be with your quirk to its fullest potential. Do you have any questions?"
The crowd's murmurs became slightly louder but they seem to understand. Seeing that they have no questions to ask, Ectoplasm had them change into workout clothes before guiding them all outside the gym. There they could see multiple pieces of equipment strewn around for them to use.
The first portion wasn't exactly anything exciting, the majority of them did well especially Izuku. Due to his more spartan training with Ohma, his physical ability was something that was starting to be noted.
He was stronger, faster, and far tougher than normal. Causing quite the confused commotion around him.
"I thought you said he was quirkless?"
"He is! Well, I think he is anyway, did that lady misread it or something?"
"Whatever the case, look at him go, he's making me feel a little underwhelming."
Katsumi smirked in smug satisfaction when she heard all of that. Part of her was also a bit surprised by the results but it seems like Izuku's training with Ohma had made him much stronger.
Izuku made his way towards Katsumi, not even looking barely winded after completing all of the tests. He was pretty sure he was among the upper portions in the ranking. And considering that the majority of the people in the upper portion have a mutant quirk to boost them, it had made him look that much more impressive.
Izuku however felt like he could have probably done better, but in order to do so, he would have to tap into Ki. Part of him wants to but felt like it would be unfair. It would be like him subtly using his quirk to get better results which would defeat the purpose of this test. The test is to gauge their baseline physical ability, so using Ki would defeat the purpose.
"How did you do Kacchan?" Izuku asked her with a curious look.
The blond shrugged, "How do you think I do? It was great! Though then again, you on the other hand had been doing fucking spectacularly." She complimented, making him smile sheepishly.
"I'll say, damn Midori you're making people nervous with your showing." A familiar voice snickered, causing both of them to look toward the source.
Standing in front of them while clad in only a black sports bra and yoga pants was Mina herself. The Kure girl smiled mischievously at him.
"Oh hey, Mina! I was wondering where you were!" Izuku greeted her while Katsumi's face soured slightly.
"Oh, you're here too." She groaned. Having already heard of her and seen her face whenever Izuku made a video call with the woman.
Mina glanced at Katsumi with a slightly teasing look, "Oh come on Katsumi! Why so sour? Mina is here to make the sad days go away after all!" She said while sauntering over towards them, specifically in Izuku's direction.
Katsumi subtly stood in her way, her glare challenging her to take another step.
"I'd rather you go away you pink menace!"
"Oho? Is someone feeling threatened?"
"Fuck you say?!"
A chuckle could be heard at the exchange, making all three look in the direction. There stood before them a spiky red-haired young man. He was only wearing a red shirt along with black pants. His face set into a wide grin, revealing his white sharp teeth.
"Now Mina, play nice. I thought you said they're your friends?" The young man reminded her, making her smile back in amusement.
"I would like to Kiri but Kacchan here is so easy to mess with." Mina gushed slightly, trying to hold back some of her own laughter.
The blond on the other hand was glaring holes at Mina, "Oi pinky! You don't get to call me that! Nobody gets to call me that!"
Izuku looked confused at that, "But you seem fine when I call you that."
Katsumi blushed as she glanced at him, "You're a special case dumbass!"
Izuku laughed at that before looking at the redhead properly, "So Mina, who is this?"
Mina moved her gaze towards him, smiling all the while as she did so.
"This is the guy that I told you about, the one with the really nasty punches!" Mina introduced, making the young man laugh nervously.
"Oh come on, it's not that terrifying."
"Remind me who was the one that sent the sandbag flying after one punch?" Mina deadpanned, making him laugh nervously.
Izuku chuckled as he held out his hand, "It's nice to finally meet you, my name is Izuku Midoriya."
"Eijiro Kirishima! Though just call me Kiri!" Kirishima shook Izuku's hand, "Mina talks a lot about you, you know!"
Izuku tilted his head at that, glancing at the suddenly quiet Mina.
"She did?"
Kirishima laughed slightly, "You have no idea, though she did mention you being quirkless. And you're joining the hero course despite that?"
His words caused both Izuku and Katsumi to freeze slightly. Both of them already know what might happen next.
However, Kirishima surprised them when he looked at Izuku with practically stars in his eyes.
"That's so manly!"
"Eh?" Both tilt their heads in confusion.
"I mean you're planning to fight villains despite being quirkless? That's manly as hell!"
Izuku was caught a bit off guard but recovered a bit by chuckling, "Really huh? I never really thought of it that way."
Before they could continue, Ectoplasm suddenly coughed out loud. Gaining everyone's attention.
"Now that I have your attention, the final portion of the physical aspect is about to begin. Please get back inside the gym, our equipment should be out and ready by now." He informed, causing the atmosphere to suddenly turn slightly tense.
The previous aspects were pretty much the easiest ones compared to this. You would have to physically fight an opponent while using your quirk at your best. While some might think it would be easy, it would be the exact opposite.
The purpose of this part of the test is to see the examinee's capability at its fullest. If they messed up in some way, their chance to pass the exam would plummet. They are here to be a hero, combat is a common aspect of the profession. While the Hero course can help refine their skills, they still need to meet a certain baseline. If they fail, it will all be over.
"Well then, guess that's our cue." Kirishima spoke up before looking at the rest, "Come on, let's hurry! The faster we finish this the better!"
All four make their way back inside the gym, inside they could see multiple raise-up platforms. Possibly arenas for the examinee to fight in. At the side of each arena is a number. Going from 1 to 20
The arenas are lined up two by two. Lining up across the rather large gym, allowing enough space for multiple fights to happen at the same time. There's also a higher floor at the top with the staff looking down from the railings, allowing them to judge and mark the examinee in peace.
Multiple staff members could be seen going around the gym, handing out two sheets of paper to the examinees.
All four took the two sheets of paper and proceeded to read them. On one of the sheets is a number drawn on it, at the bottom of the paper it says 'ARENA' boldly. Izuku could see he was assigned to arena 4.
"Four huh? I'm on 5 so I'll be right beside yours." Katsumi spoke up from right beside him.
"Mine is 6! So I'll be nearby too!" Mina added.
"Ah, I'm the same as yours uhh…" Kirishima hesitated as he looked at Katsumi, realizing he hadn't even asked her name yet.
"Katsumi Bakugo, remember that name because it's going down in history!" Katsumi grinned a bit cockily, making Kirishima laugh a bit sheepishly as he was unsure how to react to that.
Izuku chopped down on Katsumi's head, "Bad Kacchan, you don't just do that to strangers."
Katsumi pouted as she rubbed her head, "Fiiine."
"Ahem," One of the nearby staff coughed, catching everyone's attention. "Please head towards your designated arena and inform the staff there your name and ID once you are ready for your fight. Please refer to your second sheet to see your choice of opponents. Pick carefully and good luck."
Izuku narrowed his eyes before looking down at the second piece of paper. Reading through it he managed to gain a couple of things. One, there are only four types of opponents that they can choose. Two, all four types of opponents are geared towards a certain type of quirks in a specific manner.
Out of all four types, only three of them are robots. One type is called the Heavy-Unit, the type of robot that was designed with heavy defense and offense in mind. But from the looks of it, it sacrificed a large amount of mobility in return. The second type is called Light-Unit, a type of robot that focused on range and mobility. It seemed to be equipped with various long-range weapons while also making sure it has maximum mobility. The final robot type would be called Medium-Unit, a perfect blend of both types. However there is still the final choice, that being a prepared live officer that will spar with the examinee if they choose them. However, the downside being the quirks that would be used by the officer would be random, making it harder to properly fight them.
"Damn, they really went all-in on this," Kirishima noted from the side, already reading through the assortment of choices.
Katsumi clicked her tongue, "Even with that, it seems pretty obvious what each opponent is prepared for. Heavy-Unit for the more bruiser-based fighters, Light-Unit for those that can deal with range, Medium-Unit for those that can deal with both types. It's a perfect way to have the examinee show off while also giving them a good challenge. I'm still not sure why we have the live officer option though."
Izuku hum as he considers the possibility, "I think it's for quirks that can only affect living things. Just think about it, they already gauged our physical baseline. This is to gauge our quirks, so it would make sense if they try to include quirks that only affect living beings."
Mina nodded at that, "With how weird quirks are, it would probably be for the best."
The group then start noticing that the examinees are making their way toward their respective arenas, seeing everyone move made the group hurry along as well. With a final wish of good luck, all four split up and make their way toward their respective arenas.
The moment Izuku arrived at his arena, he could see a line already forming. There are also a few more people off to the side doing their stretches and taking their time. Seeing nothing else he could do, he decided to do some stretches before he follows in the line.
As he did, he could pick some discussion from the staff at the railings. While usually, only those with some sort of sensory quirk could possibly overhear them, Izuku's training with Ohma had allowed him to achieve a state called Oneness. Ohma had explained it is a state that allows Izuku to be more in tune with his surroundings. It won't be exactly wrong to say he has become one with it. Because of this, it had allowed his senses to reach a high level.
Izuku idly messes with his long fluffy hair, untying it and tying it back into a ponytail to keep it neat. Though then again, with how stubbornly messy his hair could be it's probably useless.
"This month's patch looks promising, though we do have one quirkless among the examinees. Wonder what he will bring to the table." One of the staff spoke, making Izuku freeze up slightly. Shit, they're talking about him!
"Who cares, they'll probably fail like the rest. The hero job is not something that people can join willy-nilly. People can actually die in this." Another staff scoffed, making Izuku slump in disappointment. He had heard that many times before.
"Usually I would agree but I heard the kid is actually quite the monster himself. His physical score in the assessment test was pretty high!" The words caused Izuku's hope to rise slightly again.
"Tch! Good physical ability won't do shit if they can't use it in combat."
"Yeah guess that is true." Those words crushed his hopes back down, do they have to play with his emotions like this?!
Izuku sighed as he pull away his attention from them, not wanting to let it all affect his mood and in turn his performance. He needs to be at his best!
BOOM
The sound of a rather powerful force crashing into steel could be heard, catching Izuku's attention as he looked towards the arena right beside his. If he remembers correctly, it should be arena 3.
There on top of the arena was an orange-haired girl. She had kept her hair in a side ponytail, she wore a simple cyan shirt with black pants that highlights her curvy yet toned form well. Golden lightning could be seen sparking around her body, her right arm had turned golden. Casting an ethereal light around her, making her look rather majestic.
In front of her however was a different situation altogether, the robot she had chosen was clearly the Heavy Unit judging by the rather large body. However, all that defense was for nothing as the metal had dented deeply into the body, the wires peeking out of the plates as shards of green metal strewn around the floor. It looked like something big had crashed into it. Or an explosion, it could anything really from what little Izuku could see.
"Itsuka Kendo," Izuku overhears the staff from the railing, keeping his attention on them. His own curiosity piqued slightly. "Her quirk is called Golden Shock, it allows her to build up energy inside her body and release it rather explosively in the form of shockwaves. It just so happens to turn her body golden depending on which body part was building up the energy. The main drawback is that it takes a bit of time to build up energy and the strength of the shockwaves is dependent on how much she had built up. Though the golden lightning is new."
The staff beside them hum, "Maybe it's just some sort of aesthetic? Quirks are weird after all."
"Possible though we may need to have her clarify what it is. It might even be a hidden drawback for all we know."
"Right, the girl has some martial arts background it seems and it shows. She has some good form but that's all I could gain due to how fast it ended."
Izuku pulls away from them and focuses back on Itsuka, Golden Shock huh? She seems pretty strong. The fact that she also has a martial arts background also interested him. Maybe if he get into UA, he could ask for some sparring matches with her. The verdette then looks around and noticed the line was still pretty long, it would take a while before it would be his turn. Maybe it won't be that bad of an idea to observe the others. Would pass the time and maybe even get him to have an accurate guess as to who might join the hero course.
And with that, he starts stretching his senses.
The first person he happened to stumble upon happened to be Mina. He can't see properly from his place, but he could see her sliding around the arena as she threw what seemed to be acid after acid towards the Medium-Unit. He then focused on the staff that was grading her.
"Mina Ashido," Izuku raised an eyebrow at the last name, Ashido? Not Kure? She must have wanted to hide her family name. For what reason he doesn't know, but knowing how close the family usually is it's probably for a good reason.
"Quirk, Acid." Izuku had to stop himself from laughing when he heard that. Seriously? Her last name is literally the same name as her quirk with a slightly different pronunciation. Couldn't she have picked a better one? "Her quirk allows her to emit acid from all over her body, she can even control and slightly manipulate the acid. The only drawback is that she needs to be careful with how powerful she makes her acid or it would wear down her natural resistance."
"Pretty straightforward, but her natural athleticism is also something to be noted. Paired that with how she used her quirk, it seems like she's a complete natural on this."
"Maybe it's some prior training with her quirk? Won't be surprised if she did train them before."
Izuku pulls away from them, it seems like Mina is doing well. Wonder how the other two are doing.
He then looked over towards arena 5, looking over he could see Katsumi blasting towards the medium unit, maneuvering herself around the rather nimble robot with apparent ease. Explosions could be seen emitting from the soles of her feet as she maneuver herself. Her own natural battle instincts guiding her right behind the robot before she let out a massive explosion from the palm of her hands. Completely obliterating the robot.
Izuku grinned as he saw that, leave it to Kacchan to make it flashy. He then focused on the staffs, wondering how they would view her.
"Katsumi Bakugo, Quirk Explosion. She secretes and stores nitroglycerin like sweat and detonates them to produce explosions. It seems like she can produce and detonate them from anywhere. It's a powerful quirk with immense combat potential, and Bakugo certainly seems to be able to bring the best out of it." One of them praised, making Izuku grin as he heard that. As expected of Kacchan.
"She seems to have quite the temper though, the missile attacks from the Medium Unit only serve to annoy the examinee with the foams inside it and it certainly annoyed the heck out of her." Another staff snickered.
"Ah well, everyone has their own flaws I supposed."
Izuku chuckle nervously as he heard that, he can't deny that. He had his own issues when dealing with her temper.
He then focused back on other students, but he couldn't help but note some of them had rather negative remarks from the staff.
"Hitoshi Shinsou, Quirk Brainwashing. It allows him to brainwash the target and put them in a highly suggestive state that the user can use to manipulate the victim. The only drawback is that it can only be triggered if the target responded verbally and can only do physical actions. Impressive quirk, it made short work of the officer there. But his physical skills are clearly lacking, the boy looked like he can barely do five push-ups. That's not gonna win him any points."
"Minoru Mineta, Quirk Pop Off. The user can produce sticky purple balls. The only drawback is that it does not affect the user and how sticky it can be is dependent on the user's health. If they pull off too many balls from their head it would start to bleed. While the quirk is notable for potential trap usage, the user on the other hand is…questionable. His stature made it nearly impossible for him to win any fights as shown by the recent showing with the robot and judging by the screams and words he let out in panic, his behavior doesn't fit at all with the hero course."
Izuku sighed as he heard all that, it seemed like the staff have their own problems to deal with. He then noticed that Kirishima is now up, making him focus on the redhead.
With Kirishima, the redhead took in a deep breath before he slumped down his upper body slightly. Both of his hands gripped into his fist before he put them right before his chin.
Izuku widen his eyes when he saw that, due to his training with Ohma he was forced to learn about other martial arts as well. Not that he practices them but at least enough to recognize them. What Kirishima is using was called the Peek-A-Boo stance which is frequently used in boxing.
The sound of metal grinding on the earth could be heard, a large behemoth of a robot rolled its way up to the arena. It was large and clunky, it has tank thread as its way of maneuvering. Green plates make up the majority of its body, the metal reinforcing it building up quite the large mass. Turning it into a literal behemoth. It's arms looked bigger than a human's torso, the sheer size suggesting that it could crush a whole man's body easily. The robot starts whirring to life while a crimson light shines from its eyes. Eyeing Kirishima with what seemed to be malicious intent.
The redhead glared back at it with equal intensity, the skin around his arms turning jagged and hard as he eyed the robot.
The bell then suddenly rings, causing both sides to rush towards each other. The match has start.
Thanks to how slow the unit was, it allowed Kirishima to make the first move. His first move was rather simple, in fact, it shouldn't cause much damage at all. It was a simple right jab.
Yet the thick and reinforced metal was still dented from the force of his jab alone.
Izuku widen his eyes when he saw that, he had heard from Mina that Kirishima's punches were something else altogether but for it to be that strong?
The verdette continues to observe Kirishima, this time with a much higher intensity as he analyses Kirishima's movement. His Kengan working at maximum efficiency as he slowly dissect the redhead's movement.
While he did, Kirishima continues his fight. Avoiding the rather large arms as the robot tried swiping them towards him. With each dodge, Kirishima countered with jabs and hooks, causing more dents around the robot.
It wasn't until Kirishima start throwing hooks could Izuku finally see it. His form, it's perfect. He's using his lower body strength to add to his punches. But even with that it still won't be enough to cause dents on the robot. But the hooks allowed him to notice something else as well, the force of the punch suddenly spiked when it passed through his back and into his arms. There's only one explanation for that.
'Kirishima's back muscles are far stronger than average,' Izuku realized, his own knowledge aiding him to discern Kirishima's actions.
He had heard from his master that he knew a fighter with very powerful punches. It was because his back muscles were far stronger than normal, allowing him to generate more force to his punches even without proper form. Kirishima must have the same condition. It's the only explanation that makes sense to him at the moment.
Kirishima avoided another swipe, without any pause in his step he punched at the side of the robot. Delivering a devastating liver blow to the side of the unit.
The Unit swerved slightly to the side from the force, the metal denting under the pressure and causing sparks to flicker around the damage.
'This is my chance!' Kirishima grinned before he crouched low, his fist primed before he raised himself back up. His lower body boosts him right as he delivers a nasty uppercut towards the Unit.
The metal groaned from the pressure, the jagged edge of his fists causing a few plates to peel off from the head. Its programming going haywire now that its processors were damaged.
Kirishima then starts swaying his body, shifting his weight from one side to another as he keeps his gaze on the robot. Faintly, only to those that can see it, a red aura starts to flood his body. Building up quickly as he weaved from side to side.
Izuku widens his eyes as he noticed it, 'That's Ki!'
A faint whirring sound could be heard as crimson Ki continues to build up. Wind visibly picked up from his movement, the build-up all happened within seconds yet it was enough to boost him to this level.
'Quick shifting of weight, and slam your fist from left and right!' The redhead internally chanted.
It was a blur to everyone but it was clear as day to Izuku, the sound of jagged and hardened fist met steel.
'Dempsey roll; revised!' Kirishima chanted in his heart before he shouted with all his might. "Rolling Riot!"
Punches came from left and right, continuously crashing into the giant metal beast as Kirishima weaved his body from side to side. The sound of jagged fist meeting steel reverberated throughout the gym. Smashing devastating punches into the robot's body as he let the Ki continuously flow from one fist to another. The crimson energy follows the shifting of weight as he turns the robot into a mangled mess.
Loud groans could be heard from the unit, its joints visibly and audibly struggling to match or even endure the powerful attack.
With a final blow, Kirishima let out a final punch and send the robot flying away from the arena. Its upper body was finally torn apart from the lower half as it was sent flying away and crashing into the wall.
The nearby spectators gaped as they saw this, looking surprised at the sheer strength that the redhead had produced.
Kirishima let out a calming breath as he finally settled down into a relaxed form, looking at the robot with a wince. Maybe he had gone slightly too far.
"Holy shit," Izuku could hear one of the staff gasps, causing him to focus on them. "What was his quirk again?"
"A-ahem, Eijiro Kirishima. Quirk Hardening. He can harden any part of his body, the more pressure it was put in, the stronger it can get. The drawback is that it continuously drains his stamina when he keeps the hardening up."
"Hardening. Alright, then what the fuck was those punches?! I can see his quirk increasing his striking power but that's just on a whole nother level!"
"It's noted here that his back muscles are much stronger than normal, causing him to have quite the devastating punches. Paired with his boxing background, the boy had managed to turn it into a powerful weapon. Sheesh, this kid is nuts."
Izuku couldn't help but agree with that statement, it is indeed rather nuts. To have the initiative and ingenuity to turn such a simple gift into such a powerful weapon, the act speaks a lot about him. That's not even all, judging by his movements it was clear he already has some talent in boxing or at least has worked really hard on it. Kirishima is literally the perfect combination of good genetics, talent, and hard work.
"UA is awesome," Izuku gasped as he laugh lightly to himself, he could never see this kind of thing anywhere else. In UA, only the truly talented and the hardest of workers gather. It's where people can see great people shine and become greater.
He can't help but get excited about the prospects of potentially meeting them. It made him want to get into UA even more badly.
A cough caught his attention, making him look toward the source, and realized it was finally his turn.
"Name and ID?" The staff asked patiently.
"Ah right, sorry. Izuku Midoriya. My ID is—" He informed them, the staff typing in something to the tablet in their hands.
"Alright, we got your name here." The staff nodded, though Izuku could notice the slight widening of their eyes when they looked at his info. Izuku could already suspect what they had found. Possibly his quirkless status.
Thankfully, the staff didn't choose to speak up about it. The boy had already been let in and it was already the final part of the test, might as well let him finish it.
"So which opponent are you choosing?"
Izuku hummed at that, his mind already narrowing it down to two choices. Either the Medium-Unit or the live officer. While both the Heavy and Light-Unit seemed easy enough, both are too specialized and would take too much time than necessary for him to handle. The Medium-Unit at least has the best of both and would allow him to show off properly.
But then again, the live officer would also allow him to prove something that's essential if he wants them to allow him to enter the Hero course. The main concern about Quirkless is that they are generally assumed to be useless against Quirks. This was rather understandable, Quirks serve as an inherent advantage against Quirkless factually speaking. Of course, they could overcome that advantage via other factors like support items or physical training. The latter is the only thing that he has at the moment.
If he could defeat the live officer, then it might make things easier for him to join the hero course.
Decision made, he looked at the staff with clear determination in his eyes. "The live officer please."
The staff seemed surprised at his answer, if he had chosen the robot units it would have made things easier for him. Despite all their features, it is still a bunch of robots. Just find a gap in between their plates and pull out the wires, the robot would go down afterward.
But the boy chooses the officers instead, making it harder for him to defeat them in the process. While the objective of the test isn't exactly a matter of winning or losing due to the fact that they are testing their combat capability, winning against your opponent is highly recommended.
"Are you sure?" The staff asked with some concern that could be heard in their tone.
Izuku nodded, "Positive."
The staff sighed, inputting his choice as they nodded. "Alright then, your choice. You may step up towards the arena. The officer will make their way toward the arena in a few minutes. There will be lights inside to give the signal to start, once you see it, you'll know what to expect."
The verdette nod before he slowly makes his up to the arena. Part of him was curious what they meant by lights but he'll stay patient since they did say he'll know what to do once he saw it.
Before he step up towards the arena, he made sure his long hair was kept neatly in a low ponytail before opening his jacket and shoes. Revealing the black shirt that fit him rather snuggly. Causing a few eyes to be drawn to him.
Izuku however, ignored them with practiced ease as he made his way to the arena.
As he stood there, he could notice that the arena was made up of rather soft sand. His toes feel the rather soft texture as he moves, well at least his feet won't be screaming bloody murder at him each time he moves at least.
It didn't take long before the officer finally arrived. The officer themself was wearing an outfit that covered them from head to toe. Despite the burly and buffed body, the outfit still fitted him rather well.
He's wearing an all-black garb. A full-on black uniform with a black helmet covers his whole head. A facemask that covers his lower face down to his neck along with black goggles covering his eyes. The logo of UA could be seen on the right side of their chest. Izuku silently wonders why UA gave them such an outfit. It looks rather hot to wear.
Suddenly, lights could be seen appearing. Looking at the source, Izuku could see there were lights at the corner of the arena. The white light suddenly turned red, making Izuku tilt his head.
Was this the light signal that the staff talked about?
His answer was proven correct when the light suddenly turned yellow, causing the officer before to crouch slightly as he prepare for battle.
Izuku took a deep breath as he saw it, his posture relaxing as he raised his arms to chest level. His eyes steeled in determination as he prepared for the upcoming fight.
He still couldn't gain anything yet from his opponent, not even a hint of what their quirk might be. But then again, that was already expected. The pamphlet given to them specifically stated the officer's abilities are randomized.
'Focus Izuku, focus! Observe your opponent, react to them appropriately and show them what you can do.' He reminded himself
The light turned green at the edge of his vision, forcing the officer to suddenly rush towards him. His burly body rushed at him with surprising speed.
Izuku analyzed the officer as he raised his fist, sidestepping the officer easily as he made some space between them. The officer's lower body looked well built, which would explain the explosive speed.
The officer didn't let up though as he spun with a pivot using his foot, a single lunge already allowed him to cover the space between them easily.
Izuku narrowed his eyes slightly but his mind already came to a single conclusion, the officer's explosive speed, and footwork would make it easy to cover the space between them. And with the size of the arena, he would run out of space sooner or later.
Well, head-on combat it is then.
Izuku suddenly steps into the officer's path, surprising him slightly judging by his sudden tensing. But the officer recovered fast as he immediately launched an uppercut, heading straight towards his chin.
The distance between them should make it hard if not impossible to dodge at such close range especially so with both of them rushing at each other. But Izuku had already prepared for that.
He moved his neck ever so slightly, enough to let the uppercut barely miss him. Without hesitation, he launched a counter punch straight towards the officer's head. The attack hardened with Adamantine Kata.
The punch landed, causing the officer to stagger slightly to the side. But the helmet he was wearing had mitigated the damage enough for him to recover quickly. Allowing the officer to rise back up with a right hook primed at his face.
Izuku's eyes tracked the officer's movement easily, his hands raising to divert the punch away from him. The officer didn't let it sway him, taking a back step to make some space, he sent a rush of jabs towards the verdette.
Izuku's eyes trained carefully at the man before him, his gift allowing him to track the attacks easily as he use his hands to divert them all away from him. In fact, it won't be wrong to say he was predicting every single attack that was coming right at him.
The officer seems frustrated judging by his increased tempo. Izuku could sense that it was starting to affect him, but part of Izuku was also slightly annoyed. The man hasn't used his quirk yet.
"If you're pissed then use your quirk," Izuku suddenly spoke, a hint of irritation could be heard in his tone. "I'm here to prove myself, so use it."
Martial arts wasn't the only thing that Ohma had instilled in him, his master can be a bit insufferable sometimes. Often goading him on just to get him to improve, it was enough for Izuku to start developing his own sense of annoyance with certain things.
The officer growled under his mask, it was hard to discern for anyone but Izuku's keen senses picked it up.
KIRK
The sound of something rocky could be heard from beneath him, his sense of hearing and touch picking it up instantly. Causing his body to react and use one of his arms to lash out, blocking the source of the sound. He could feel something sharp and jaggy clashing against his arm before it flew away. His arm stings from the impact but other than some reddish hue from the point of impact, it's relatively fine.
The officer took a couple more back steps as Izuku reassessed his surroundings. At the corner of his vision, he could see a piece of shrapnel made out of rocks. Looking slightly downwards, he could see a large chunk of ground seem to be missing from the arena.
Izuku's eyes rise back up towards the officer, there now seems to be small particles rising up from the ground beneath the officer. Trailing up his body as the officer lowered his stance even more.
'Some sort of rock quirk?' Izuku considered, the small particles causing him to narrow his eyes slightly. No, if it was full-on rock manipulation, he would have gone with something bigger. But the ground beneath them is made out of sand. Maybe he had used the sand beneath to create some sort of sandstone. The officer probably had gathered all the small particles together tightly until they formed into solid stones.
Well, of course, that's just a theory for now. But it's the most likely outcome he could come to.
Izuku eyed the officer carefully, preparing himself for the man to attack first. While he would like to take the initiative, he still needs to figure out the intricacies of the officer's quirk before he rushes in.
The officer shifted his weight from side to side as if building himself up to something before suddenly launching a jab at him. The distance between them was still quite wide, the jab would just land on empty air. So what was he aiming for here?
Izuku's confusion was immediately answered as multiple shrapnel suddenly flew from his fist and launched straight towards him.
Izuku took a quick yet deep breath before solidifying his footing, deep within his psyche, the cracks burst open. Letting a familiar pressure fill his body.
With the familiar feeling of Ki flooding his body, he let it all burst as he focused on the incoming shrapnel.
Somewhere at the side of the arena, Kirishima widened his eyes when he saw this. Izuku knows Ki too?! Right by his side, Mina grinned as she saw this. It seems like he's finally using it.
While those two were focusing on Izuku's Ki, the crowd on the other hand was more focused on how skilled Izuku was. Is this guy really quirkless?!
The moment those shrapnels pass by a certain range, his arms lash out and divert them away from him. He kept his body fluid as he focused on redirecting the shrapnel away from him. The officer however didn't let up, launching more and more shrapnels at the verdette as he continued to redirect them away.
Through the use of Kengan and his state of Oneness, he was able to continuously predict the incoming attacks easily. However, just predicting them would not be enough. He had created a technique to pair along with his own sensory ability. A technique that would allow him to make use of his prediction ability in a more effective manner.
The technique is called Seikuken, roughly meaning air supremacy. The technique works by controlling the radius within an entire arm's length, creating some sort of spherical shield around oneself. By using Water kata to keep the body soft and reflexive while also using Redirection kata to redirect the attacks within the radius, he was able to create a completely safe zone. The minimal range allows him to redirect the attacks with minimal movements easily.
'Redirection and Water Kata; Seikuken!'
Izuku continues to redirect the rush of shrapnels away, he quickly starts to make his way forward. Step by step he covers the space between them, his emerald green eyes focused on the officer.
The officer growled under his mask before ceasing his jabs, suddenly rushing towards the verdette with his explosive speed. His burly body causes an image of a rushing bull to form in Izuku's mind.
The particles around the rushing officer slowly start to become more intense in movement, the sand around him converging and forming stones around the officer's body. Forming an armor of stone around him.
The officer slid to a stop, his momentum causing him to slide through the ground right as he raised his fist. Delivering a downward straight right towards him.
Izuku narrowed his eyes as he raised his arms. Ki flooded and enhanced his body as he grasped the wrist of the officer, using the momentum to pull him downward, using Redirection kata to twist the body forward and slam him down on the ground. His back crashed down on the ground beneath with a mighty slam!
Izuku however didn't let up. The verdette walked forward while still gripping the wrist, pulling the arm he forced the officer to stand back up to his feet. A yelp could be heard from the officer due to the sudden pull, despite the added weight of the armor Izuku still managed to pull him up rather easily.
With a sudden harsh pull, Izuku used Redirection kata to twist the body and slammed his back to the ground again!
"Let's finish this shall we?" He grinned before he pulled the officer back up on his feet again, easily manhandling him before twisting his body.
Pivoting from his feet, he twisted his whole body before focusing all of the power into a single kick.
'Godslayer!'
His feet tore through the stone armor and dug deep into the officer's guts, a forced cough could be heard from the armored officer as Izuku's penetrating kick sent him flying away. The air could be seen visibly pushed away slightly just from the force of the punch alone. The officer could be seen tumbling out of the arena as he crashed down on the ground.
Izuku let out a deep breath as he calmed himself down, wincing in slight guilt a little as he saw what he did. He might have put in more power than he intended.
The crowd around the arena gaped at the sudden force of power, looking at the now down officer with a shocked look. Murmurs could be heard from around them.
"I thought you said he was quirkless?!"
"He is!"
"Then what the fuck was that you idiot?! He fucking manhandled that guy like it was nothing!"
Right at the top, the staff was also having quite the freakout from Izuku's performance.
"Holy shit!"
"It seems like those muscles aren't for show…"
"If he was like the size of All Might I would believe it, but he looked pretty normal to me. Are we sure he's quirkless?"
"Yes we are, there's no denying that he's quirkless. The medical records that were given to us to support his claims made that quite clear."
"Then what the hell was that strength? That was unreal…"
One of the staff looked at the boy with narrowed eyes, the fighting style seemed rather familiar. But the man that used it doesn't seem like the type to pass it on. He needs to report this back to the higher ups.
Back below, Izuku was ignorant of the talk that was happening. Mostly because he was reviewing the fight in his mind. Everything had gone fine but he didn't really get to show off much. If anything all he did was lead the officer around, he had to stop for a bit in the middle to gauge his quirk but that's pretty much it.
As Izuku mulled over the previous fight, some of the people around him also started to notice him.
The orange-haired girl from before, Itsuka observed the verdette with an intrigued look. Like Kirishima, she had seen Izuku using Ki to boost his performance slightly. It had gotten her quite intrigued at the fact there is someone else that could use Ki in UA.
"And he's quirkless too…" She muttered to herself, already overhearing the other students' whispers. That means the boy would have better options when it comes to Ki usage. Maybe he can help her train with it if he gets into UA…
On another side, one could see a raven-haired beauty observing Izuku. Her cerulean blue eyes looked over the verdette with a calculative gleam.
She didn't expect to see that in UA of all places, to think that person had actually taught it to someone. After all, it's rare to see the Niko Style being used anymore these days. Ohma Tokita had become quite an enigma and his underground fights had become less and less frequent.
But videos of his past fights do exist, allowing her to study them for her future endeavors. It's important for her to recognize certain fighting styles so she can either recruit them for her cause or learn how to counter them.
Yui Kodai mentally hummed as she considered her options. While she could take a wait-and-see approach, it's not really in her nature to take time on important matters. If she can establish a good relationship with the boy, then she can gain an important ally once she inherits her parent's company. Of course, a good relationship must go two ways so she also needs to do her best to leave a good impression on him if she wants to gain him as a friend. She needs someone of his potential to be able to get the company to rise.
After all, the Kengan matches are a good way for her to increase her company's standing.
But as much as she would like to immediately get to know the boy, she still needs to have some patience. She needs to be sure that the young man would be joining the hero course. If Izuku does join the hero course, then it would be easier for her to get to know him. If he doesn't, then it might seem weird or outright suspicious that she was approaching him for no reason.
Yui couldn't help but let out a low sigh as she thought that. Socializing with people can be really complicated sometimes. She couldn't just ignore it as she did with her creepy fan clubs in high school, this matter requires her to be a bit delicate or she would be seen as creepy and end up burning the bridge she was trying to make.
She really hopes that doesn't happen, it was already hard enough to make friends in high school thanks to her quiet attitude. She really hoped that she could change that at UA. It helps that the young man himself does look rather cute and seems like a nice person, so that is incentive enough for her.
Yui sent a last look toward Izuku before turning around and making her way out of the gym. Something tells her that life in the UA would be much easier with him around.

And done! As you can see, the entrance exam is hella different. For one, no rescue points and such since they can already evaluate your mentality in the interview. So all that's left is just to figure out if you can actually handle yourself in combat or no, like it or not it's an important aspect in the hero career what with villains and all. They can always train the kids on how to save people properly anyways.
Kirishima and Itsuka appear! And they know Ki too! This is UA, it's the cream of the crop. Izuku will not be the only one that knows how to use Ki in such a prestigious place. And as you can see, Yui is also there at the end but that's mostly to hint at what she might do once we reached UA.
Anyways, comment and review! See ya!
