(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Practical Exam)
The day of the practical exam had arrived and we were all out on the academy field with Sara and we listened carefully to the details.
"Okay! Let's get the practical exam underway." Sara said. "To be completely clear from the outset, this exam is about more than just testing your physical strength and stamina. It's designed to hone in on how capable you are of making strategic combat decisions on the fly. Defeating your opponent quickly is a good thing certainly... but it won't be enough to score you high marks here!"
"So we're going to have to used our heads on this one, huh?" Alisa asked.
"Heh. You'll see. Anyway, let's get this month's exam started, shall we?Rean, Elliot, Gaius and Levi, please step forward."
"Okay." I nodded as the four of us took a step forward.
Sara stood back and clicked her fingers. Suddenly, an unusual kind of mechanical being appeared.
"Wh-what's that?!" Rean asked in surprise.
"A machine?" I added.
Instructor Sara look at me as she's impressive and surprised."Well done Mr. Top scorer. Think of it as a moving scarecrow " Sara answered. "I've set its parameters very high though so it is formidable. But if you give it your all, I'm sure you can beat it. Probably."
"So it's a combat machine. Well then, I guess we better make do with what we've learned so far." I said.
"Yeah." Rean nodded
We drew out our weapons and got ready to do a mock battle. Rean and Elliot formed a combat link just as me and Gaius formed a combat link. Rean first buff us and then Elliot also use his craft to buff us as well. Then the machine begin to launch an attack onto us and then we begin to counter and strike. Rean charge at the machine and lunched a slashing attack craft onto it as Elliot follow up and then casting Arts onto the Machine and did some big damage on the automaton. Gaius and I nodded at each other and we did a high level of damage of our own by using our Crafts. Then the automaton begin to launch it's own attack at us but then I counter it and then let Gaius follow up. Elliot cast his Arts and Rean follow up with his strikes. I begin to cast my Arts onto the Automaton as well with Gaius joining to strike, effectively finishing it off. The mock battle was over.
"Well, that was fun." I said as I put my weapon away as my team did the same.
"Not bad, not bad at all." Sara praised. "Excellent use of combat link, too. Seem like the practice you got in the old schoolhouse really paid off for you four."
The second and third groups had their turn and they were able to do alright. Next was for the announcement that she had in mind for all of us.
"So Instructor. That machine you brought for the exam, what was it exactly?" I asked
"Oh, just a little something I got roped into working with a while back." Instructor Sara answered. "I'd rather not use it if I don't have to, but I can't deny it serves a valuable function. And it's rather customizable too. I mean, it did its job quite well during our test, didn't it? So there you go!"
'That hardly counts as an answer though.' I thought
"Anyway, that brings this month's practical exam to an end. But as you might recall, I told you I had a big announcement for you today, too! Are you all ready to hear what is it? I'll give you a hint: it's about a special part of Class Vll's curriculum." And with that. We don't have anything to respond since we don' t know. "Give up? Heehee! It's really bugging you now, isn't it? Well, I'll come clean. The special task you're about to be assigned is none other than...a field study!"
"A field study, huh?" I responded. "So it's like going to various places and study with practical and written assignments?"
"I like your way of thinking, Levi." She winked. "You'll be split into two groups, A and B, and each sent to a different location. And while you're there, you'll be given a number of tasks to complete. Doesn't that sound like fun?"
"Sounds fun to me! I always wanted to explore outside of my restricted home. So where and when is this going to happen?"
"Ah yes, about that." Sara brought out a few pieces of paper. "Each of you come forward to be given one of these. to see how the groups have been divided and where each is being sent."
I took one from Sara and I looked at the paper that had the list of our names assigned between two groups, I looked for mine that was in bold so I could see it clearly.
Field Study: April
Group A: Rean, Alisa, Elliot, Laura, Levi.
Study location: Celdic, the Market town
Group B: Machias, Emma, Jusis, Fie, Gaius.
Study location: Parm, the Spinning town
"Well, these are certainly some...interesting groupings," Laura commented.
"Celdic and Parm…" Gaius said, trying to divert the subject away from the groups for the time being. "Are they both in Erebonia?"
"Y-Yeah," Elliot stammered. "Celdic's a market town on the east side of the Empire…"
"And Parm is situated in the deep south," Emma finished. "Parm is known for its spinners."
"All that way?" Fie mumbled to herself. "How irritating…"
Machias let out an irate breath, as if he was a few hairs away from fuming. "I-I'm less worried about where we're going than the utter lack of sense that went into these groupings!"
For once, Jusis seemed to agree with Machias, eliciting a grumble of his own. "Unbelievable…"
Instructor Sara showed no signs of faltering. "You'll be leaving this weekend and will be out in the field in two days' time," she told Class VII. "Your means of reaching your respective locations will, of course, be by train, so do make sure you're thoroughly prepared, rested, and rearing to go before the big day!"
The school bell rang behind them, indicating that it was the end of the period. Instructor Sara clapped her hands together. "And on that note, class dismissed!"
Hmm, well I've already got to be a friend with Rean and Elliot, so I wasn't gonna be alone at least. That said, I'm kind of keen to know Alisa and Laura. As for the other team though, I was already concerned for Fie, but I had some faith that she, Emma and Gaius would be able to keep Machias and Jusis in line.
"You'll be leaving this weekend and will be out in the field for two days time." Sara said. "Your means of reaching these locations will of course, be by train. So do make sure you're thoroughly prepared, rested and rearing to go before the big day!"
Well, there was nothing else that needed to be said, we left the field and resumed with the rest of today's sessions.
-Later-
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Afternoon hours)
"Haha! I'm excited! I wasn't expecting a field study to be in place." I couldn't help but feel happy.
I was in the Kirsche's with my team we did with the old Schoolhouse and today's training.
"We weren't expecting either as well. But you're in a good mood it seems." Elliot said.
"I'm guessing it's because you mostly shelter, right?" Rean asked
"Yeah. I only been through some parts of the plains in Nord but not everywhere. So I am curious while I'm studying. There are places I haven't been in Erebonia." I answered. "There are places I've been to but that's it.
"Oh? You been to Erebonia before? What places have you been to?"
"I been to Helldallr back when I was little. Same with Legram. But the other towns I've forgotten. But those two were the only towns I've ever step foot on in Erebonia. And the rest of my life is shelter." I answered
"But don't you think that's sad? Why were you shelter to begin with?" Elliot asked.
"I…" I look the other way because I have secrets I must kept. "Honestly, I don't know why. From what my grandfather said, the world is a harsh place. Maybe he wants to protect me from harsh reality or something. But that doesn't make any sense if he allow me to enroll in Thors. So I don't know."
"Oh… Okay…"
"So how come your caretaker allow you to enroll in Thors?" Gaius asked
"That's also a good question. Normally, he would be against it. Back during the shelter life. And building common sense. He limited me to places to go. But for me to allow to enroll in Thors was something else. I honestly don't know why he actually alllow me to go Enroll."
"That was weird, no doubt. Maybe because when you got older?" Rean asked
"Who can see. I never understand him at some point. Regardless of why. I'm happy. I was pretty lonely and I really do want friends."
"You never had any friends before? That just… sad…" Elliot trailed off.
"I won't deny it… but it was understandable because of a personal reason." I sighed of the long long shelter life. "But I wasn't alone. I have my animal friends keeping me company."
"Well that's good to hear."
"And here you go." And then the maid delivered Pizza.
"Time to dig in!" I cheered as it look delicious.
Dateline, April 24th.
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Refreshing Morning)
It was the early morning, 6:00 am in the morning. I was getting everything ready. Got my ARCUS, my Glaive, and my money.
"Have everything ready?" Luka asked
"Yep. I should head to Kirsche. It should be open… right? Getting myself some Pizza." I giggled and then begin to get out and then head to Kirsche. Once I arrived. I heard the bell and there was the staff.
"Someone's early." Said the owner.
"Hehe. Yep. Before I'm heading out. Mind if I order Pizza?" I asked with a smile.
"Haha. Of course. It will be ready in a moment. Which topping would you like?"
"Pepperoni." I answered.
"Coming right up."
"Oh. And I would like some water."
And then he begin to make pepperoni pizza. I waited for about 10 minutes. As the pizza is making. I hope I have enough time before I get going. And I got the glass of water. While I was going to get it. I sense a powerful magical presence coming closer.
'What the…' I look surprised.
"Well, Well. Now this is a surprise. It seems I'm not the only early riser." A woman's voice said and then I turn and see a young woman with waist-length hair wearing red glasses and a white cap walking to the bar counter.
'This magical presence…' I thought. It looks like she's trying to hide it but… I no doubt can sense it.
Waved at the woman, the same way he would when greeting a familiar customer. "If it ain't Misty! How was work yesterday?"
'Work?' I title my head.
The woman let out a sign. "It was tiresome. Honestly. I do wish the boss would give me the heads up. And after that was a fun little party. I don't mind the party but I was the only one who had to clean up after everyone."
The guy laugh. "Well what did you expect from him. He's a bit of a party guy as well serious."
"I suppose that's true." The woman said and then she begin to sit down "I've got another gig later on today, so the work blend, please."
He nodded and he took out the pizza and cut it into slices. "By the way, I tuned in to your show last weekend!" he added. "You were great, as usual!"
Misty took off her hat and set it on the counter next to her. "That's nice of you to say. It makes all of the backstage work worth it."
'Hmm… who is she?' I wondered as the guy walk over to me with pizza "Ah, thank you!"
"Of course. My pleasure!" The guy said and then begin to make her drink
I begin to eat the pizza slice and then took a bite and it was delicious.
"Oh? That uniform?" I heard Misty talk about my uniform.I look at her as She scanned her eyes up and down, making me feel a little anxious. "You wouldn't happen to be one of the Class VII students from Thors, would you?"
I swallow my pizza bite. "How did you know that?"
"Heh, I knew it!" Misty's face broke into a friendly smile. "Ever since word of Thors' dashing guys and girls in red got out, you've been one of the rising topics at our radio station. In fact, just last week, my manager met one of you personally and he couldn't stop talking about you! Although the person he mentioned was a guy, so you're probably not the same person." So that explains it. And I'm guessing that's Rean. "So…" Misty continued. "Mind if I ask for your name?"
"Oh. I'm Levi Sullivan. It's a pleasure to meet you… Misty, right?" I asked
"Yep. That's me." Misty smiled as she offer her hand to me. After I use the napkin to wash my hand. I went over to her and begin to shake her hand. So far nothing happen but I notice Misty's eyes as she look surprised.
"What's wrong?" I asked
"Huh? Oh nothing." Misty respond with a smile. "I just notice that you look quite handsome."
"Ah." I light blushed actually.
"Aww is someone blushing." Misty then begin to giggle. "My apologies. I didn't mean to tease."
"It's okay. So… I couldn't help but overhear about a gig. What's that about?" I asked
"You mean you don't know?" Misty asked with a curious mind as she place her finger to her chin. "I work at a radio station called Abend Time. It's an evening radio talk show. Have you heard of it?"
"No. I got here during the opening so that was 3 weeks ago I think. So I haven't heard of it. Sorry." I answered
"I'm surprised. It's popular here in Trista. It's on the Orbal radio this evening." Misty said.
"Orbal Radio?" I asked. Then click. "Wait, you mean that little device I see in stores? Oh Yeah. I remember having one in my room. But I don't use it because I was busy."
"Ah, I see. Still, why don't you go ahead and listen it when you have the time." Misty suggest.
"I might." I nodded
"Here's your cup." Said the staff and then Misty take it and begin to sip.
"Oh shoot. I should head back to my table before it gets cold!" I panicked and ran back to my pizza.
"That whole pizza is for you? That's an interesting breakfast choice." Misty said as she begin to sit with me.
"Well, it's my favorite." I replied and took a bite and then after I swallow it. "So good. I never had something like this back home."
"You don't? It's a very popular dish." Misty said.
"Well I'm not from the Empire so I was eating mostly other meat and vegetables."
"You're an Aboard student? Which country?" Misty asked
"From Nord."
"Oh, so your from Nord Highland. That explains it. They don't have technology there. It's a beautiful place full of beautiful scenery." Misty giggled
"Yeah. I love it there. It's a beautiful place. I learn a lot of technology by studying. Speaking of studying. I better finish eating before my Field study arrived." I replied as I resume eating my pizza.
"A field study?" Misty asked as she got curious.
"Yep. I can go to various places to study with practical and written assignments. So I'm excited to see the places Erebonia has to offer." I smiled as I finish a slice and begin to eat the other slice.
"So where are you guys heading?" Misty asked. "If you don't mind me asking, that is."
"Well…" 'Hmm… should I tell her?' I wondered as I eat. 'Well she already heard of class Vll. And the staff there already know it so… so I guess I can tell.' "Well my class is going to a place called Celdic.
"Celdic, hm? Why, that sounds like it'll be a fun trip." Misty let out a cheerful smile. "Visiting the Grand Market, taking a walk through Lunaria Nature Park… that sounds like the perfect way to spend a weekend!"
"Oh?" I swallow my slice of pizza piece. "Grand Market… Lunaria Nature Park? Ooh I'm so curious now! So you been to those places?" I resume eating.
"Still, Celdic...I've heard that there are some pretty unsavory things going on there recently. Most of it boils down to baseless rumors, but you and your class should still be careful over there. With the way the provincial army's been acting lately, I wouldn't be surprised if you came across a conflict or two there."
"The what?" I title my head.
"You don't know what they are? The Provincial Army is an army of nobles soldiers." Misty explain
"Ah." I swallow and nodded. "I'll be sure to keep that in mind, thank you for the heads up. Although, if you don't mind me asking…" I lowered my voice. "What kind of conflicts are we talking about here?"
Misty looked to her right and left, confirming that no one else had entered the cafe since she arrived. The staff, meanwhile, had gone to wipe some of the tables. Then Misty then leaned in close.
"This is off the record from here on out," Misty whispered, "but it's mostly minor squabbles over property taxes and market goods. Nothing too big on its own, but one of my colleagues said that it's been happening a lot lately, and if too many minor things start adding up…"
"Huh… how suspicious… Then that means It's only a matter of time before me and my classmate see something major, right?" I asked in a whisper tone as Misty nodded her head in confirmation.
'Yeah, that's definitely something worth watching out for,' I thought. 'This Provincial Army... if they're being shady… hmm… then I should investigate this. And this is an army of nobles. Are they good people… or bad. If they're bad… then they need to die.' "Are you sure it's okay for me to know this?" she asked Misty.
Then Misty winked. "Think of it as my way of repaying the offer for being able to meet one of the students of Class VII. Again, there's no evidence to support or disprove it, so take it however you like."
"Got it. Thanks for the heads up. So you been through different places before?" I asked
"Oh yeah, I have. Erebonia has a lot to offer." Misty giggled.
"I can't wait to see what else during the field study." I smiled with joy and then begin to notice the clock. It's 6: 40. "Oh. It's almost time for me to head out. Aww… and I still haven't finish the rest…"
"You're going to eat the whole thing?" Misty blink in surprised
"Yep. That's the plan. No worries. I'll just take them to go." I chuckled as he got up. "Can I take these to go?"
"Sure. I'll get the box." The staff replied and then begin to small traveling box. As he give me the box. I begin to place in the remaining pizza in it. "I can't wait to eat you later on~" I couldn't help but feel joy. Then turn to Misty. "Oh. It's been lovely talking, but I think I need to head out now."
"No worries." Misty smiled, nodding understandingly.
So I begin to leave some tips.
"Thanks Fred. When I get back. I'll order another whole!" I replied and took the box with me as I head out.
Fred called from the other side of the room. "Sure thing! Enjoy your field study!"
"Will do!" I replied and then I exit the building.
(? POV)
I was watching the unexpected scene and then see Vita chuckle to herself. "He's an interesting one, isn't he?" Then she look at her hand. "Still, I can't help but think that he felt...different, somehow."
"You mean Levi?" Fred had come to pick up the mira and overheard Misty's comment. "Yeah, he's a bit on the peculiar side, but he means well! Aside from the handsome angel he is. He also possesses an aura of mystery, don't you think?"
"Yes…" Vita closed her eyes and took another sip of peppermint tea. "Something about him is… mysterious indeed…"
'Hmm… this is unexpected… then again. Any strong magic-user can sense magical forces. Even otherworldly. I look into his strength. And he appears to be on equal terms with a powerful Jaeger Corps like the Red Constellation. Not strong as that sub-leader… whatever that guy's name is but he's getting there. Once he continues his training. He should be enough to destroy more the one Panzer Soldat. But he needs to be Mcburns Equal as well as Arianrod.'
(Levi's POV)
As I arrived back to the dorm. I see Rean. Alisa, Laura and Elliot.
"Hey guys." I waved at them.
"Oh hey. There you are. We were talking about you." Rean said.
"Huh?" About what?" I asked
"About where you were. We still have enough time before the train arrived so we were going to head into town a bit." Rean said.
"Ah. Then shall we?" I smiled. I already got my things ready.
As we left the dorms and I got my breakfast and things. We begin to do a little shopping and then begin to head into the train station. As we got there. We got inside and we noticed the other group already there with Machias and Jusis having their backs turned to each other. I had a feeling that their group was gonna struggle with those two. The group didn't have time to chat as their train was arriving shortly. I wished them the best of luck, cause they were gonna need it.
(Trails of Cold steel ost - Cedric, the Merchant Town)
Moments later, our train arrived, and getting our tickets, we boarded the train and took a seat with me, Rean, and Elliot sitting on one side and Laura and Alisa sitting on the other side. And so we decided to have a good chat while we are at it. Then we got to look at the nice scenery. It truly is a wonderful sight from this train as we keep going. After a long journey, we arrived at Celdic station. Rean woke up Sara and we got off the train and out of the station with Sara who led the way towards an inn. However, in the corner of my eye, I felt a slight presence that got me looking around. I turn around and then saw no one as people just passing by.
'Hamsuke, Luka. Did you felt that just now?' I asked through telepathy.
'Yes. There was someone watching you and the others.' Luka answered
'Find out who it was and figure out what their game.' I replied
'Got it/Understood.' Both of my familiar said and then I resume walking.
As my familiar left my shadow as they became invisible. I and my team went inside the inn and Sara walked up to a maid. "Hey there, Margot."
"Well, if it isn't Sara! What are you doing here?" Margot replied. "I knew the kids were coming, but I didn't think you'd be coming with them."
"Oh, I just figured I'd help them get settled in before I left. And here they are, my lovely students."
Margot smiled at us and took us to one of the rooms upstairs, it was very spacious and there were more than enough beds for us, which brought me to another question.
"Uhhh, excuse me. This looks like a share room. Are we sharing the same room?" I asked.
"I had my doubts too." Margot answered. "But Sara insisted, so that was that."
"I don't mind sharing, but I don't think the girls will be as willing as us." Elliot said.
"Alisa." Laura turn to her. "I don't believe we don't have a choice here. We are military students. We mustn't allow the prospect of mixed gender accommodation"
"I-I know that but…" Alisa look at Laura as she is concerned about the situation.
I can understand why she's concerned. Because it's common sense for boys and girls to have separate rooms to prevent naughty thoughts from the gender.
"In the army, both men and women share rooms with each other. It's a fact of life, born of necessity. You will need to adjust to this reality sooner or later. And this does seem a perfect opportunity."
Alisa sighed. "Okay, okay! I get it! I think I get it already. " She then turned to face us men who were present. "But if either of you three comes anywhere near our beds…"
"Wouldn't dream of it," Elliot assured her.
"Likewise," Rean agreed.
"We wouldn't do such a thing." I added.
As Margot left the room, Rean opened it up and there were a lot of papers. There were three letters that were classed as tasks and a few report papers which I assumed we would be using those to write our reports in after the tasks are done.
"So finding some medicine, send help for a person at a weapons store and slaying a monster." I said. "I'd say that's quite varied and not as difficult as I thought it'd be."
"I see, so that's her angle." Rean hummed.
"Huh?"
"Oh uh, it's nothing. We should go and talk this over with instructor Sara. She probably stuck around specifically to answer any questions she might have."
We left the room and went downstairs to see Sara indulging over a drink, she seemed to be a little out of it too.
"Ahhh!" She sighed. "Nothing hits the spot quite like a cold beer!"
"She looks like she's having the time of her life." Elliot said.
"Yeah, no kidding." I added.
Sara looked at us. "Oh, you kids are still here? I'll just be hanging back and enjoying myself, so go on ahead and get started. Don't mind me!"
I sighed. "I guess she's not exactly able to answer. She's already downed two pints worth."
"Oh that's where you're wrong, Levi." She giggled. "I may not look it, but even when drinking, I still pay attention to what goes on. Anyways, the five of you can spend your time here however you see fit. Every decision rests on your shoulders, I won't be forcing you to do a thing."
We left the inn and Rean looked like he had something on his mind.
"Umm, Rean, is something bothering you?" I asked."It looks like there is something on your mind and you want to tell us something.
"Does this relate in some way to our activities during free day week?" Laura added. "Specifically, to your activities during that time?"
And then I remember.
"Oh yeah." I palm-fist tap. "I forgot to ask you about something. What were you doing at that time before I head to my club meeting?"
"I was spending that free day doing various tasks for the Student Council." He answered. "And while one of them did involve going back into that Old Schoolhouse, the rest were just simple requests for assistance from the locals."
Ah, so that is what he is doing that day. Now I understand.
"Ah, now I get it. So based on what you've learned and done already, these tasks aren't exactly different. They're just happening in a different place." I smiled. "Well, now that I understand that, I'm okay with getting all those tasks done. Though we should probably leave the monster hunter one for last. We should also have a look at the market too when we have time. There may be a few sales today."
"Well, look at you acting like a leader." Alisa smiled.
"Really? Hehe, thanks for the compliment. But I rather much an adviser." I looked at Rean. "Besides, I think there's someone else around here who may be a better leader than me."
"Well, if you think I should." Rean responded. "Whatever future various tasks Sara may have planned for us, I say we just work our way down the list whilst familiarizing ourselves in Celdic culture, taking in as much as we can."
"Oh I'm looking forward to that!" I cheered as I jump with excitement.
"Hehe. You're very excited aren't you?" Elliot smiled
"Of course! You have no idea."
We were pretty much in agreement and we set off exploring the small town and taking note of the market. This was going to be a good time, I'm sure of it...
There were various stalls around the market area, mostly food and other beverages, but there were some souvenirs and gift shops.
"Wow, check out all these stalls." Elliot commented.
"Yeah, this area is bustling." Alisa added." I guess there's a reason people come from all over to visit it!"
I was in awe of the stalls. Look at all those vendors! Ohh… I got to look into it! And so I begin to ran off and look at the stalls excitedly and then keep looking around and behaving like a child. Hey, don't judge me. And then I begin to look into a stall. One with plates, vases, and even clocks!
"Oooh!" I awe in excitement.
"Why hello. Welcome. Would you like to buy something?" The female merchant asked
"Yes! I would like to buy… Ah! This vase!" I pointed at the beautiful green vase with the natural decoration. "And I would like to buy the clock!"
The female merchant couldn't help but let out a giggled. "Of course. That will be 1200 mira."
"Here you go!" I then give her 1200 Mira and then purchase the nice clock and the vase! And the next thing I did was went to different stalls and look at the Mishy and plushies, went to the next stall. I was so excited. Even listening to the person playing.
"Having fun Levi?"
I turn and then Rean and the others approach me.
"Haha! Of course! There are so many to see through!" I answered as I was excited. "So many wonderful souvenirs, food, ingredients to cook! I'm so happy!
"Haha. We know. You storm off on us." Elliot smiled
"Ah…" And then I was embarrassed. "Oops… sorry."
"Oh don't apologize. At least you're having fun." Alisa replied. Then notice the purchase. "You already bought something?"
"Yep!" I cheered. "A vase and a clock!"
"The vase looks lovely. Be sure to put it away. You wouldn't want to drop it." Laura advise.
"Roger that!"
And so I ran to the Inn and then pass Sara and then place them in my bed. Then ran back and then Sara saw me running left and then reunited with my team.
After exploring the market, we left the area and walked over to the chapel. Going inside, we walked up to the far back and spoke with the priest.
"Excuse me, are you Father Zirbel?" Rean asked.
"That's correct." He replied. "And you must be...oh, I see. You must be the students who will be helping me with my request."
"That's right." I nodded. "We're from Thor's Military Academy. Could you let us know about your request in detail?"
"Certainly. I'd like to request that you collect me a few ingredients to make a medicine." He explained. "Do you have the time to do this request for me?"
We all nodded. "Yeah, we can help out."
He smiled. "My thanks."
"Can I ask what sort of medicine these ingredients will be used for?" Alisa asked.
"It's essential medicine to deal with the common cold by strengthening the body's immune system. Many people tend to catch it during spring and fall, when the temperature switches between hot and cold, you see."
I groaned. "Ah, I can relate to that." I remember back in Nord too… I get sick and Master Makarov was making tea to increase my immune systems to all kind of diseases and illnesses.
"Now then, I would like you to collect two ingredients. The first is a medicinal plant known as a bear claw, which grows in humid areas. You can find one of those at the market, there's a stall owned by Flint that's on the left side of the center wooden structure, tell him that I sent you."
A bear claw, I do remember seeing one of those on one of the market stalls.
"The other ingredient is imperial carrots. You can get those from a farmer named Paul who lives along the West Celdic Highway. Again, make sure to tell him that I sent you and he should share some with you."
"So a bear claw and imperial carrots, I'll write those down." Elliot said.
"That should be everything, thank you for accepting my request."
"Of course, father." I replied. "We'll get those ingredients as soon as we can."
"Yes, you can count on us." Laura added.
"Alright, let's go." Rean said as we left the chapel. "We should go to the market first and then head over to the exit to West Celdic Highway."
We walked back to the market and to where the stall we needed to go to. Rean had a talk with the Flint guy and got the bear claw. We then left the market and over to the exit path before noticing three guards by the entrance to the west highway. They turned their attention to us as soon as we were approaching.
"Hmm? Who might you be?" The soldier with the long hat asked. "I don't recall seeing you around here before. Do you have some sort of identification?"
"We're students from Thor's Military Academy." Rean answered. "We're currently visiting Celdic as part of a field study."
"Now that you mention it, I do recognize the emblem. My apologies for any rudeness. We're members of the Kreuzen Provincial Army. Our main duty is to keep the peace in Celdic."
So this is the Provincial Army… guys wearing blue and white. Misty told me they're army of nobles. And I overheard Alisa and Laura whisper that they're military forces operated by the ruling lord. And Celdic is rule by Jusis's family. They act separately from the Imperial Army.
"While it may seem early in the year for Thor's students to undertake field studies, we do understand that many of your graduates are among our ranks." The officer continued. "So you be sure to uphold the academy's good name. Don't do anything you shouldn't."
"Of course, we'll do our best." Laura said.
"Good. Take care now and keep your noses clean. That concludes our patrol. Back to the guardhouse, men!"
"Yes sir!" The soldiers replied as they walked away.
Well… I shouldn't be surprised that they look serious… but I don't trust them about what Misty told me.
(Trails of Cold Steel Skies of a Strange Land)
We left the town and we took note of two paths and a few windmills in the area.
"Wow… look at this place. It's beautiful!" I commanded with awe.
"True, I can admire the scenery well." Laura agreed.
We traveled along the highway paths, slaying a few monsters and entering the next area where there was a small house with a small farm beside it. We assumed that this must be the house we needed to go to so we can get the carrots. We went up to the house and Rean knocked on the door before it was answered. Whilst he was explaining the reason for coming here, I stayed outside just in case there were any monsters that would try to attack us from behind. I then heard the door closing.
"I've got the carrots from the farmer." Rean said. "We can go back to Celdic and give the ingredients to the priest."
"Yeah, we should do that right away and then move on to the next task." I replied.
We went back to the town and to the chapel, we walked up to the priest and Rean handed the bear claw and carrots over to him.
"Please, accept my thanks." The priest said. "Now I can get back to making the medicine. I'd like you to accept these as well, as a token of my appreciation."
He gave us some potions and I put them away in a small bag. "So we get stuff like this in return? Cool." I said.
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Cedric the Market Town)
That was our first task completed, the next on our list was to go to the weapons store and accept a request from the owner in regards to replacing a road lamp somewhere along the highway we were at. We went over to Oddvin's Arms and Orbal Factory and spoke to the owner.
"Welcome to Oddvin's shop." He greeted. "Oh, you're the students from Thor's Academy, aren't you?"
"Correct and we're here to ask for details about the road lamp you're asking for." I replied. "Is there an issue with the lamps?"
"Not really. It shouldn't be too much of an issue. One of the road lamps on the Western Highway was broken due to the orbment light inside it breaking. I would like you to replace it with a new one, speaking of which, here you go." He handed us an orbment road lamp. "Oh and you will need a code to unlock and replace the road lamp as well. The code for the road lamp near Lunaria Nature Park is 466515."
I nodded as I wrote down in case. "466515...got it."
"Hopefully we won't run into any monsters along the way." Elliot said.
"Well if they do become an issue, we'll just have to knock them down."
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Skies of a Strange Land)
We left the store and out of the town again, walking further down West Celdic Highway until we saw a road lamp near a windmill that was almost where the nature park was.
"Oh. There it is." I pointed at the lamp that needed to be fix."
We went over it and noticed that it had a combination on it, a code was required to open this. As soon as I touched it though, I sense monster presence.
"Guys… we got company."
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - The Glient of Cold Steel)
And right on cue, we were surrounded by monsters.
"Wh-where did they come from?!" Elliot asked.
"No time to answer that." Laura answered. "Levi, can you take care of it?"
"Sure thing." I replied. "Okay what was it again...466515?"
I put in the code I remember and the panel door opened up, I opened it up and took out the broken orbment lamp out, and placed the new one in before closing the door which locked automatically. Master, thank you for teaching me these. Otherwise I would be in trouble. By the time I was done though, the other four had taken care of the monsters that ambushed us a few seconds ago.
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Skies of a Strange Land)
"Phew, glad that's over. You four alright?" I asked.
"Yeah, we're okay." Rean answered. "That was some fast work, Levi."
"Indeed, I thought the procedure would take longer." Laura added.
"Well it's nothing special. I've done a similar mechanism before." I replied as I recalled. Not gonna lie. Back in Helmdallr. I learn to use the Orbal computer as my master said it's part of my education to learn how to use one. "In any case. We got this one done. Let's head back and tell him the news."
We went back to the store and handed over the broken orbment light to him.
"I see you got the orbment light replaced." He said. "Thanks, I'll have this one repaired. Please take this as a reward." He gave Rean a small quartz and we left the store.
"That's two task done. All that is left is the monster one.." I reminded. "All we have to do is find the monster and kill it, and we'll be finished."
"That one is along the East Celdic Highway, right?" Alisa asked.
"Yeah, we should be well prepared before we do that one, though." Rean advised.
We left the town and to the east, the areas on the East Celdic Highway were more or less the same as the west, we soon came across a split pathway, one that went under the bridge of the railway and the other a small path that went up to a small hill where the task said the monster would be at. We took a left and past the pathway before turning left again and going up to the hill to find an unusual monster that growled at us. The monster was a large lizard type.
"So this is our monster." I replied and then got out my Glaive. "Now this one is a worthy opponent."
"It's coming at us, get ready!" Rean exclaimed as we entered battle.
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Tie a Link of ARCUS)
The battle begin as Rean Link up with Alisa and Elliot with Laura. Rean and I begin to charge together and then end up slashing the monster as it roared and launch a claw attack but Alisa shot the arrow at it and prevent it then Laura charge and let a wide slash. Then the monster spin it's tail as we dodge and Elliot cast a water Art at it and then the monster jaw charge at me but I counter it as I Swirl my Glaive into a four combo attack by first swirl left upward adding a spin and rotate and handed my Glaive to my left hand and let a downright slash, following up with a spin swirl and wide slash left and handed back to my right hand then a wide right and highly damage the monster and then Rean finish it off with a slash follow up with Alisa's arrow and the monster explode into purple light.
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Skies of a Strange Land)
"That takes care of that." Rean said as we put our weapons away.
"It's a decent opponent but it's pale in compassion from the monsters when I was training." I added. "While I wasn't link, those combat links really are life savors as well, especially the ARCUS stuff too."
"Yeah, we should go and report this to the farmer who asked us to take care of the monster." Alisa said.
"You're right." Rean nodded. "The farmers at the farmhouse in the first area of the East highway will be pleased."
"I must say Levi, your skills with the Glaive is a sight to behold. Instructor Sara did say you're one of the two strongest first year." Laura said.
"Oh yeah, your right. Laura and Levi are the strongest among the first year." Rean replied.
"And he's the first Top Scorer while Emma is second. You're both the brawl and the brain." Elliot smiled.
I light blush actually from those praises. "H-Hey now. I appreciate the compliment but that's a bit much."
"Still. Is it alright if you and I have a spar?" Laura asked
"Oh of course. I would like that." I smiled.
After we defeated the monster. I notice my master Quart has level up and grow stronger. Nice. Anyway, me and my team left the left hill and made the walk over to the farmhouse near the entrance to the village and Rean spoke with the farmers before we walked back to Celdic. It then occurred to us that it was the late afternoon already, we were about to go to the Inn to start our reports when we heard a commotion over at the market.
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Trouble Outbreak)
"Huh? What's going on?" I wondered as we investigate.
As we saw. There were two men arguing. I overheard about both claim to the stall next to them. And then there goes the argument.
"Both merchants claim over the same spot?" I was confused because why would two merchants claim the same spot. If they're partners then there shouldn't be some trouble.
"How odd," Laura remarked. "Permits for the market are issued by the province's ruling lord."
"So for Celdic, that would be…" Before Alisa could finish her thought, a collective gasp came from the crowd. Both merchants were now in close proximity and wringing each other's collars.
"This isn't good!" Rean looked like he was ready to take action.
"We must stop them!" Laura agreed with ran and then Rean and Laura separate them.
"Unhand me at once!" The merchant in the suit tried to resist Rean's hold on him.
"I'm not sure exactly what's going on here, but violence isn't going to solve anything!" Rean did his best to talk while maintaining his grip on the adult.
"You both need to calm yourselves," Laura ordered them. "You've both been worked into a rage."
The suited merchant noticed the three other teens wearing the same uniform as the people who were restraining them. "What are you, high schoolers?"
"This has nothing to do with you meddling kids!" The local merchant refused to let up. "We're having a mature discussion here, and I'll thank you not to interfere!"
"Since when has grabbed a person by the neck been considered mature?" I asked as I cross my arm.
"If you truly intend to have a mature discussion, perhaps you should try acting more like adults," Alisa sternly told the merchants.
"What in Aidios' name is happening here?" an older man's voice sighed from behind the crowd. All the people assembled turned to the Grand Market's entrance to see an elderly man wearing a suit and a hat walking towards them.
"Oh, now look what you've done!" the merchant from the capital said.
"M-Manager Otto…" the local merchant immediately stopped resisting and tensed up.
The man named Otto stood in front of the two merchants and told Rean and Laura to let go of them. After they complied, Otto offered to direct the merchants to his house where they could discuss matters in private, which both men agreed to do.
As the two merchants walked out of the market for the time being, he turned to us. "I really appreciate you all stepping in to help defuse the situation," he told them. "Though, I suppose I should expect no less from the infamous Class VII I've heard so much about."
I was surprised. Even my team agree.
"The manager heard about us?" I asked as I was surprised.
The elderly man smiled earnestly. "That's correct. My name is Otto, and as the young lady said, I'm the manager of Celdic's Grand Market. Truth be told, I have some things to discuss with you all, so if you'd be so kind as to come along, I'll treat you to some tea."
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - The Comfort of One's home)
I see no reason why not. So me and my team enter the manager's house and then we begin to talk and have some tea. And he begin to tell us he is the one who assign us to the task we got.
"Oh, so it was you?" Rean asked.
"Correct. Principle Vandyck is an old friend of mine, you see. He asked me personally to select a few tasks that you might be able to complete."
"Well, that was nice of him." Elliot said.
"We appreciate your consideration as well." Laura added.
"Likewise, I'm grateful to you for taking some troublesome tasks off my hands. And I can't thank you enough for your help at the market. If you hadn't been there, I imagine someone would've wound up getting hurt." Otto let out a smile
"I'm just glad we did." Rean smiled.
"So both merchants will be taken turns using the same stall at the front of the market?" Alisa asked.
"That's right." The elderly man sighed as he explained the situation. "Both of their permits are genuine, but their merchandise and temperaments don't lend themselves to sharing a space. Eventually, they agreed to a compromise where they would each make use of the front stall on alternate weeks. The other stall we reserved is near the back of the market, however, so whoever's relegated there will likely see far lower sales numbers."
"I must admit, I do find this whole matter rather perplexing," Laura said. "To my knowledge, the issuing of market permits is the sole responsibility of each province's ruling lord. For a mistake such as this to have been made in the first place raises some rather unpleasant questions."
"That's true." Rean nodded his head. "It's a lord's duty to control the flow of goods. If he can't handle it, the local economy could really suffer."
"Quite right." Otto seemed impressed that the students who spoke possessed such critical economic knowledge. "Ordinarily, that responsibility would fall upon the duke's household, but lately, the situation surrounding the duke's household has been getting a bit...complicated."
"Complicated?" I asked. "What do you mean?"
The market manager closed his eyes solemnly. "A few months ago, he increased the sales tax for our market rather significantly, and with a larger percentage of their profits being taken from them, the merchants have begun to get rather desperate. Fights like the one you saw earlier are becoming more and more commonplace."
'It's just like Misty said.' I recalled the small bit of information the news reporter gave me. 'The taxes are going up, which endangers the value of market goods, and too many little things can add up to become even more problems.' I look at the manager to ask him another question. "If I may ask, how long has this been going on?"
"Roughly two months now," Otto answered. "I've tried to raise some objections to the increase during that time. I'd even gone to Bareahard numerous times to petition the duke personally! But…" He shook his head dejectedly. "They always just drive me away at the gate without listening to a word I have to say."
'That's abuse of power!' I look mad. 'What is this ruling lord thinking?! That's definitely more than enough time to get people upset. Is he trying to sap the people of their money?!' While I was thinking over the rest of the information, something occurred to me. "Wait, if this is a problem with the duke, then how come the provincial army isn't doing anything?" All eyes laid on me as I said this. "I mean, the guardhouse is literally right next to the market. You'd think that they'd at least hear the commotion and try to see what's going on."
"That's a good point," Laura concurred. "Unlike the Imperial Army, a provincial army's main priority is maintaining the status quo throughout their territory, so mediating arguments which threaten that status quo should absolutely fall within the scope of their duties."
"If that's the case, the mix-up with the permits may be more than just an accident," Rean speculated.
The market manager nodded his head. "I'm not one to jump to conclusions, but everything you have said is correct. It seems that unless we accept this tax increase, they intend to turn a blind eye to the market. The commanding officer at the guardhouse has even made comments suggesting as such."
"That's not right at all!" Alisa didn't hesitate in voicing her opinion.
"Perhaps it isn't," Otto relented. "But in the end, there is little we can do about this situation."
"But then how come you didn't report this to the Emperor?" I asked with an eyebrow as everyone turn to me again. "Isn't the Imperial Family holds higher authority all over Erebonia? Including this region?"
"Yes, that's also true. If you seek an audience with the Emperor, His Majesty would listen to your objection and would investigate." Laura nodded.
And then we all look at Otto just blink and then he palmface.
"Oh dear. It seems my old ages has once again affected my mind. I haven't thought of that. His Majesty would have help… still… I'm a busy man at the moment. I have to make a schedule and who knows how long it would take to get an audience with his majesty."
'You do that. How dare Jusis's father do something like this. And since this region Provisional army is under his control… it seems I have to mark Jusis's father as another corrupted and typical noble.' I thought to myself. 'The nobles of this nation is disgusting. My master is right about Erebonia about these nobles. Many are trash. It's obvious why Machias hate these trash of a nobles. Many don't hold the noblesse oblige. Still… These nobles don't deserve their titles… and many had died in my hands.'
-Flashback-
I was 10 years old and there was a nobleman on the verge of death as he was covered in deep scars all over his body.
"P-Please! I'll pay you double! Please spare my life!" The corrupted noble beg until I severed the heads and then cast fire on his corpse as they turn to as and cast wind magic and they scattered.
"Master… are we assassins?" I asked him.
"No. We are not." Makarov answered
"Then… why do we do this? Why do we kill these people if we're not?" I asked.
"Because these nobles are full of corruption. They have no honor and respect for the people below their ranks. Nobles hold power and many use that power and became corrupted. Bending people to their will. Many innocents were hurt by these nobles. And that's why they deserve to be purged from this world. We must punish nobles who think so little to the common folk and abuse their possession of power. Taxes, force labors… Corrupted nobility do this. The Emperor of Erebonia can't do a thing until they investigate or unless they have been reported. Many common folk wanted to but many corrupted like him threaten innocents who are suffering from their abuse. That is why we must punish them by sending their souls to this world's version of Hell. Gehenna." Makarov answered
"I see…" I said. "If we're not assassins… then what are we?"
"We are Arbiter." Makarov answered
"Arbiter?" I asked
"It mean we are like judges to those who are in power. If those who have power use for good. Then we leave them be. But those who use for bad. We take it away." Makarov explain to me of that world.
"Ah… so he needs to die because of abuse his position of power and mistreated?" I asked
"Yes. He prove himself to be a bad person. And it is our role to judge them by their action and behavior. Even if people say he's a good person. Or his family or relative say so. Then they are fools. Even if he save one life or more. It won't change the injustice actions he cause harm. Always study those in power before executing them to Gehenna. Now, let's remove the bloodstain from the scene and let us go. "
"Understood."
-Flashback ended-
'The duke is no doubt guilty and so are the Provincial army he controls. If that is the case and the soldiers are following orders. Then I must-'
"Levi, you there?" I heard Rean's voice as he is waving his hand to my face.
"Huh? Oh sorry! I was just thinking, sorry about that." I nervous laugh.
"What were you thinking about?"
"About the whole situation with the two merchants… still… let's hope that those two don't cause trouble again."
"Yeah. Same here. We should get going now."
(Trails of Cold Steel ost - Cedric, The Market Town)
As we left his house and pondered over the army issue when we heard a female voice calling for us. We turn and it was Instructor Sara
"Oh, hey there Instructor Sara." I said.
"Keep up the good work you five." She replied. "I'm going to be heading off now. Group B's not getting anything done like I expected, so I'm going to help them out."
I sweatdrop. It should be expected because of Machias and Jusis.
"Anyways, you five are perfectly capable of looking after yourselves, right? Put your heads together and think, and I'm certain you'll see what you need to do."
Sara walked off and waved before going into the station.
"Well, we might as well get something to eat, it's dinner time." I said.
"Yeah, let's go back to the Inn." Rean replied. "I'm starving myself."
(Trails Of Cold Steel ost - Evening Moments)
We returned to the inn and after having a large dinner, we sat at the round table with our drinks.
"Ahh, that was delicious." Elliot said.
"Certainly." I agreed. "The meal is delightful"
"I wonder what the others in Group B are doing right now." Alisa said.
"Somehow, I doubt they're sitting around a table and talking like we are." Rean replied.
"It also wouldn't surprise me if they ended up not doing so well like we have when it comes to the reports." I sighed. "Speaking of our class though, I've got this feeling in my head. It's about the purpose of our class." I notice Rean felt the same feeling. "I take it you had that feeling too?"
"Yeah, I've had that feeling for a while." Rean hummed. "What do we have to offer one another, when our reasons for enrolling at Thors in the first place are undoubtedly very different?"
"Our...reasons?" Elliot asked.
"I never really thought of that." Alisa added.
"Well, my reason for enrolling was quite simple." Laura said. "I aim to come closer to my goal. Or rather, to the person whom I regard as such."
"And who would that be?" I asked.
"Heh. This is neither the time nor the place to discuss such matters. Best to save that topic for another day."
"I understand...what about you, Alisa? Why did you chose to enroll here?"
Alisa hummed. "There's no one single reason, but I think I just wanted to assert my independence. I mean, my situation back at home isn't exactly ideal, and this seemed like a good way to get out and...do more, I guess."
'I'm guessing because of her surname which I believe to be Reinford.' I thought.
"Well, I guess I'm in the minority then." Elliot added. "See, I wasn't intending on coming here at all originally. I wanted to do something completely different."
"Oh yeah, you said you were really hoping you'd get into a music academy, right?" Rean asked.
"Well, I wasn't that serious about it or anything."
"And what about you Levi?" Rean asked me.
"Hmm…" I begin to think for a moment. Well.. there are a few reasons... one of them is to find out who I am. The other reason is I wanted to explore what is outside of my isolated home in Nord. "Well… I think there are two reasons I think. I've always wanted to learn about the world outside of my restricted home."
"Restricted home?" Laura asked
"Do you all recall when Machias ask if I was a noble or a commoner in Erebonia?" I asked and they nodded. "I replied I don't know because I really don't know. My whole life is just one big mystery. I been isolated from society and the outside world."
"Huh? What do you mean by that?" Alisa asked.
"As I said earlier. My whole life is a mystery. In fact. I don't know if I suffer from amnesia but when I woke up. I was being raised by an elderly man in Nord. I can only remember my name. I don't know where I am from. Or where I was born. The elderly man who took me in and raise me doesn't know who I am. He said he found me in Nord unconscious. There was no one there but me. I was so young, yet I wanted to find out who I am. But I couldn't. He told me that the world can be a cruel place as well as evil. So I been mostly shelter my whole life. I was limited to the places I can go. I never interact with people. Except for Sunday school when I first enter Erebonia. But I haven't been in Sunday school for very long as it ended shortly too."
"What happen?" Elliot asked in concern.
"Hmm…" I begin to think back then… I been to Sunday school 4 times.
-Flashback-
At the end of Sunday school back in some town with a lake. but the name escapes me. I can't remember anything else. I waited for Master to pick me up. But then I got bored of waiting and then headed outside and head to the lake nearby. I was at awe as I look at the beautiful scenery. I look around and no one was there and then I begin to cast light magic on my finger and then begin to play with the water as I giggled. And soon I begin to play with my magic with bubbles. I couldn't help but admire it. And then soon I felt an extremely powerful presence. Wait… I remember this feeling. I turn around as I heard footstep. I turn around and quickly cancel my magic. And then I see a silver plate armour person. The person has long beautiful blond hair. I was concerned if this person saw it. And I couldn't see the person's face from the helmet.
"A child? Here alone?" The Knight spoke and sound like a woman. "This presence…" Then just as she was getting closer. Suddenly, she turn her head to her left and a large projection was fired at her and she block it. And then Master appeared behind me and then teleported me away. And then I return back to my home.
"Tsk… this is what I was afraid off…" Makarov sighed. "Levi. For now on. You will be home school."
"Huh?!" Levi exclaimed
-Flashback end-
"Hmm… If my memory serve me right… It was 10 years ago… I was at a place whose name is forgotten to me. I was admiring the scene outside of town where my guardian was supposed to pick me up. But he was late. Then there was this strange woman… in armor in silver. I couldn't see her face because of her Helmet. She was about to approach me… until my guardian appeared and took me away so quickly. And he told me I can't go to Sunday school and I will now be Homeschooled for now on. And with that. I was never allowed to leave my restricted home anymore in Nord."
"A woman in silver armor? And she was going to approach you until your guardian appeared and taken you so quickly?" Laura asked
"Isn't that a bit extreme? I mean I'm sure this woman was just concerned why were you being out without an adult. Any grown-up would do that. And for you to be snatch so quickly was kind of suspicious if you ask me. Or was your guardian being overprotective?"
"He was overprotective of me. But despite all that. I couldn't go to Sunday school for now on. And home school the rest of my isolated life."
"Wow… that's just… wow… you must have been so lonely…"
"I wasn't alone. I was with my animal friends. They kept me comfort."
"So wait…" Rean blinked. "If your guardian forbid you from leaving your restricted home in Nord and homeschooled you… who is he exactly? And how were you able to study for the entrance exam?"
"Well according to him… He was a Master Martial Artist but hasn't told me where. And he was well educated. As for how I was able to study for the entrance exam. Well, I did study Erebonian History as well as other education."
"Okay. If your guardian forbid you from being school elsewhere… how were you able to get into Thors?" Alisa asked
"That's also a mystery." I replied. "I don't know if I told anyone but how I enroll here, I was in Heimdallr a month ago having a little concert of my own. Then a bunch of robbers appeared and ruin it all and came towards the park. And then I took them down. Then this guy who has connections to Thors appeared to me. After I told him I wanted to get stronger. He offer me a chance to enroll in Thors. I was expecting my guardian to say no. But he suddenly said I should. I don't know what suddenly he let me go to school. I can never understand him. But I was grateful that I can finally interact with people again. So there you go. My two reasons. To find out who I am. And explore the world outside of my restricted home for so very long."
Then I look at my team who just gaze at me. I couldn't help but feel nervous.
"H-Hey… what's with the stare?"
"Oh, sorry. It just… yours is… how do I say…" Rean nervous smile as he scratch his cheek.
"Unbelievable and mysterious." Alisa said.
"Well, I don't blame you. I do possess a mysterious aura that attracts a lot of people." I sighed. "So what about you?" I turn to Rean.
Rean was silent for a few seconds. "I wanted to find myself I guess."
"Find yourself?" I asked. "Just like me? You also want to know who you are?"
"I guess so. Sorry, that makes it sound like its a much bigger deal than it actually is."
"Don't worry about it. It kind of makes me feel happy I wasn't alone in this. I can understand that. Going on a journey and making discoveries that you never thought were possible before… When I say it like that… it sounds like a pretty good life."
Alisa smirked. "I had no idea you were such a romanticist."
"Wait to who? Me or Rean?" I blink
"Both of you."
"Huh?"
Rean sighed. "Maybe I shouldn't have said anything…"
Then I notice something from Rean. In his tone… his body language… I can sense he hesitated. He's hiding something… I can see it in his eyes too. There is something he doesn't want to talk about. But isn't just me. Laura, Elliot, and Alisa notice this too. And so just before we go to bed. Margot approached us and wanted to know if she should wake us at 6:00 in the morning. We agreed. And so we begin to head into our rooms and notice that Rean and Laura are having a conversation to herself. But we can see that Rean is harsh to himself and Laura thought he would be a good sparing partner like me. She felt disappointed. But also notice that Rean was holding back.
'There's a lot he doesn't want to talk about huh?' Alisa whisper and asked
'Yeah. It's clear to me or us that in his eyes. He's bottling up something and trying hard to keep it hidden.' I nodded
'Rean's not the only one bottling up his feelings, though, is he?' Elliot asked as me and him turn to Alisa.
She stay silent for a moment then sighed.
'Yeah... I guess i have.' Alisa replied
Well, we all got something hidden. Like I am. And I'm sure Laura noticing I'm holding my strength as well.
Well here we are in Levi's story in Cledric. But this is an interesting flashback Levi had experience. They who judge, hmm? It's fitting. And I won't deny that the nobles in Erebonia are trash. Like a certain brat in Thors. Oh yeah... i also need to make profile notes about Levi. Here to next time.
