The Summer period at Thor's had arrived and we were to switch to our summer uniforms, which was not to have the uniform sweater on. It had been four months since we all began our time here and we had finally gotten the hang of our academic studies as well as the field studies. I was able to learn a lot in person too. Besides reading books and putting my knowledge and skills into action at long last. As for me and my classmates. We felt like a team ready to take anything on, Ah, the wonderful of a school life. Or was it Military life. well i'm learning the differences. However, there is still one lingering issue among us. Laura and Fie had yet to come to terms with each other and we weren't sure of what to do about it. I swear I can't tell if it's Laura or Fie. After the regular class, my classmates and I begin to head to our next class. This one is more unique. We arrived at the pool area in the gymnasium.

"All right, that should be enough of a warmup." Sara said.
Today will be about our swimming. I love swimming on a hot da. This is my first time I will be swimming with people.
"I'm supposed to remind you that swimming classes here are meant to each you skills relevant to military service." She continued. "You know, how not to drown if you wind up in the water, how to save others from drowning, CPR...that kind of stuff. In fact, CPR is a pretty vital skill on any battlefield. Rean, Alisa, would you care to give us a demonstration?"
I couldn't help but covered my mouth because I was going to laugh as I gleam my eyes to Rean and Alisa
"C'mon, guys. Just kidding around. Point is, it's still important that you learn how to do it and that you won't hesitate to use it if the need arises. Whether that means locking lips with someone of the same sex...or the opposite."
"Well, it IS a skill we can use to save someone's life." Emma said.
Sara then continued her lesson. "After we've covered that, I'll be timing how long it takes each of you to swim the length of the pool. Will you give me a hand, Laura?"
"As you wish." Laura replied.
Each of us did an individual swim from one side of the pool to the other. I was swimming pretty fast. But I know everyone else swim fast. Well, some did their best
"Wow, look at Gaius go." Elliot said.
"Yeah, I hear he used to swim in that lake in the highlands every summer, so I kind of expected that." Rean added.
"It has been awhile since I went out for a swim. But it's my first time with people." I replied.
"Emma's a lot faster than I thought she'd be too." Alisa added. "Though it's not much her swimming ability that I envy."
Rean look at her. "What do you mean by...ohhh, I get it."
"Get what?" I asked
"It's nothing. Trust me. It's best for you not to know. I don't want you to turn into a perv like some people."
"Well if you say so."
"Well, any guy would have a hard time taking his eyes off at our class's girls. I'm not even sure who to gawk at first." Elliot said. "I mean, even the other guys are handsome. You're pretty toned yourself, Levi, Rean."
"Y-You think?" Rean asked
"Hehe. Why Elliot. I didn't know you like me that way." I wink.
Elliot then noticed something on Rean's chest. I saw it too.
"Hey, what's that on the left side of your chest, Rean?" Elliot asked. "Some kind of scar?"
"Oh yeah. It look faint that I didn't notice." I added
"Oh, that. It's some kind of mark." He answered. "It's been there for as long as I can remember. Don't know how I got it though."
That got me curious, he doesn't appeared to be lying either. Still something about him still concerns me. Back in Nord Highland. He touch that area where that scar is. How interesting. Plus there is also concern about that dark aura I sense on him. I know him for 4 months now and he's a good person. That Dark aura concerns me. Does he have a secret with that or… he really doesn't know about it? No… he does have a secret… There are times I did see him hesitated.
"But speaking of scars." Rean look at me and my body. "You have plenty of scars too, Levi."
"Oh." I said looking at my fainted scars. "Yeah, I gain a lot of scars on my body. Many of them are burses, cut wounds, claw marks, and bite marks."
"Whoa, that's insane amount of scars! How many do you have!?" Alisa exclaimed. "And how did you managed to get them?"
"I don't know. Most of them fainted away. As for how I got them. Training, battling monsters. My grandfather treated my wound every time."
"Seriously, Levi. Don't you think your grandfather of yours is pushing you too much with this? I mean you mostly train and study. I'm not saying it's a bad thing but I'm concern you never had a good childhood."
"Hehe, thanks for your concern. I won't deny that he has push me to the limits to both subject. However, I did had some wonderful childhood memories, despite all that. Plus he use a moisturizer to remove the scars I have back then. Plus I wanted to get stronger. So I don't mind."
"Is that all you think about?" Alisa sighed.
"You're a bit positive, don't you think?" Elliot asked.
"Maybe. But I should learn to enjoy life. That is something he taught me."
Anyway, everyone else had just finished, Laura was the last to swim, we watched her swim and she was very fast. Well she is a member of the swimming club. Still… who's faster, Laura or me?
"Let's see...20.02 seconds, not bad at all. Levi got the same too." Sara said. "All right, I think it's time for me to dive into the mix. Everyone, pick a partner,. It's time for a little head to head competition."
"Race, huh?" I hummed. "How about it Rean, you and me."
"Sure, but can I ask why?" Rean asked.
"Let's make this a friendly match, K?" I wink.
"You got it."
"Ahh, the friendship between boys. Almost makes me jealous. Then you two shall go first." Sara said
Jusis and Machias wanted to settle this once and for all, Emma and Alisa then paired up and so did Elliot and Gaius.
"How about it, Laura?" Sara asked. "Wanna pair up with me?"
"Not today, I'm afraid." Laura replied as she looked at Fie. "I wish to challenge Fie this time."
"Me?" Fie responded.
It was time to start. Elliot, Gaius, Rean and me stood on our podiums.
"Go easy on me, Gaius." Elliot said.
"Same to you." He replied.
"You ready, Rean?" I asked asI looked at Rean.
"Ready as I'll ever be." Rean answered and then we look front.
"Ready...go!" Sara called.
I dived into the pool and I swam in equal terms with Rean because I wanted to be fair with him. Still he actually surprise me and I have to keep up the pace as I could, keeping the rhythm going until I touched the end of the pool with my hand.
"Hah...hah." I panted. "You… hah… surprised me there."
"Yeah...you nearly...had me." He replied.
We got out of the pool and walked back to the beginning where Sara showed me the time on the stopwatch.
"Well, it was very close, but Rean just beat you by 0.10 milliseconds." She said. "What happen Levi? You were faster then that."
"I wanted to be fair. Is it wrong for me to show sportsmanship?" I asked as I shrug.
"Ah how virtuous. Seriously, are you trying to be the perfect student?"
"Too be honest, no. I wasn't trying to be one or become one. Blame my grandfather for being so strict to me with my practices, and education. Still I was actually surprised with Rean though."
"I was going to say the same to you. Then again, you are a fair and kind person. But I don't mind you being a little better then me." Rean replied. "In fact, you've helped me out a few times as well. Even as leader, I can't exactly solve everything."
"Yeah, I suppose that's true. If that is what you want, then I won't hold back the next time we play a friendly match."
"Looking forward to it."
"Hehe. Yep."
"Good grief. Levi, I can understand how many of the boys and girls fall for you." Sara chuckled.
"Really? How come?"
"If I had to guess. Aside from how handsome you are. You have a smile that brighten up the room." Rean guessed. "And you're positive, caring for others, knowledgeable, and easy-going. And for the past four months. You been helping out many of the other students with your kindness and intelligent. I don't blame any of the girls and the boys for liking you."
I couldn't help but smile as I light blushed "Hehe. You're too kind, Rean. I don't think I deserve that kind of praised."
Next up were Machias and Jusis, and Alisa and Emma and they were almost as quick as each other. Last to go up were Laura and Fie.
"Okay, are you two ready?" Sara asked.
"Not quite." Laura answered. "Fie, how about giving it all you've got this time?"
"What if I already did?" Fie responded.
'Is this what they call a cat fight?' I wondered
"I don't think so. I could tell just by watching you." Laura said. "Don't make light of me. Your earlier time was certainly not the best you're capable of."
"Well, it's not very polite for your opponent to hold back." Sara intervened. "This isn't like the battlefields you grew up fighting on. It's a place you can grow and better yourself by challenging others. Deep down, I know you realize that."
Fie sighed and nodded at Laura.
"Good, then let us go." She said.
The two of them stood on their podiums and we watched as they dived into the pool, I was surprise how incredibly fast Fie was, I know she's fast but wow. She overtook Laura but she was pipped to the post at the last second, possibly due to Laura having longer arms than Fie that may had decided the outcome.
The afternoon swimming session was over and we were back in the classroom.

"Well, the temperatures are going up, up and up. And I dunno about you, but I'm wilting like a flower." Sara said. "But as everyone knows, when the heat is on, that's when the refreshing power of beer is at it's peak. Oooh, maybe I should spend my free day tomorrow to hit up all the capital's beer gardens."
"Forgive me for asking this out of the blue, but, Instructor Sara, how strong is your liver?" I asked.
"Well, that came from nowhere." Jusis said.
She frowned. "You just HAD to ask...aaaanyway, moving on. Your next practical exam is coming up next Wednesday. I'm sure you're already used to them by now, but just make sure you're ready."
"Then next weekend will be our field study." Alisa said.
Machias sighed. "Just when I thought were done with the previous one."
"Awww, if we're doing our field study, we won't be able to go to the Summer Festival in the capital." Elliot added.
"A summer festival?" Gaius asked.
"Oh yeah. If I remember right." I said "It's a special occasion and memorial event. It's held in July, the same month that the War Of The Lions ended."
"Yeah, that does make sense." Rean agreed.
"Well, that about does it for homeroom." Sara said. "Levi, will you do the honors?"
"Yes, Instructor." I nodded as I stood up. "Stand. Bow."
Sara left the classroom and we got chatting for a while. Fie stood up and left the classroom in silence, Emma went after her.
"Looks like those two are getting along the same as ever." Rean said
"True, but I'm worried about them." I replied
"They seem to be arguing after their race in our swimming course, too." Gaius added
"Hmph. I heard their group's last field score was middling as well." Jusis said
"It's true. They were like that the entire trip." Machias replied. "Is there nothing you can do to smooth things out between them, Rean?"
"Well, I'd love to do something if I could, but why me?" Rean asked.
"Well, you just seem so good at this kind of thing." Gaius answered. "A real natural."
"Not to mention that you become quite the reliable guy for the student council." I added before smirking. "Even that Towa girl seems to like you."
Rean nervously laughed. "It's not like I'm doing anything major."
"Joking aside. I should head to the Riding Club. I'm in a good mood still when we got back."
"Oh yeah. I remember that you were call into the Principle's office that day."

I enter the principle's office at July 2 and there was principle Vandyck and there is Patrick and Marquis Ferdinand. I then glare at Patrick.
"Now then. Since we are all here. Please take a seat." Principle Vandyck requested.
"O-Of course." I nodded and then I sit down.
"Now. I'm sure you know why I call you here Levi… About what happen on June 23th yes?"
"Yes. I remember that day. Am I being expelled?" I ask calmly and my fist clench my pants.
"No. You're not in trouble."
I look surprised. Although I already knew.
"Hello." Fernand said to me. "My name is Fernand Hyarms. I am the Marquis of the Sutherland Province and member of the Four Great Houses. And I am Patrick's father."
"I see… a pleasure to make your acquaintance, sir." I bow.
"The pleasure is mine. Patrick has inform me of what happen on that day. How you assault him and he cough off his blood. When I ask him that if he provoke you into doing so. He deny it and I receive reports and ask the students who was with him. Some confess the truth… and some lied. And I investigated the matter and found Patrick was the one who provoke you after he lost a duel to you and your class. He has said many discourteous words to you and your classmates. Please accept my deepest apologize for my son's behavior." Then he bow.
While I look surprised. On the inside. I wasn't smirking but rather please.
"Patrick." Then his father call him out as he step forward.
"Nrgh…" Patrick grumbled. He was frowning as well. He then clear his throat. "I… wish to apologize for my misconduct last month. Losing my composure like that wasn't befitting of my status as a member of nobility. What I've said to you was… as your friend say it…"uncalled for". I had no right to say such a thing to you. Please accept my deepest heart most apology." He then bow.
Like my face. I was surprised. It seem the Marquis is heeding my warning. I close my eyes and pause and then look serious.
"Am I pressing charges for how I punch you?"
"No. There will be no charge." Patrick answered
"I see." I then turn around. "Before I give my reply. I'm not the one you should be apologizing. If anything, you really want to make amends, you would do well to apologize to all of us, starting with Rean."
"Wha-?! T-This has nothing to do with Schwarzer!"
"I beg the differ. When you lost. He offer his hand to assist you. But you slap it away. And calling him filthy. Just because he was adopted to the honorable Schwarzer family. In addiction. I also heard about what happen to Alan too."
"What does Alan have to do with this? Why do I care about what-"
"Patrick." His father sternly call his name and he flinch.
"Bridget O'keefe of Class ll would beg the differ. I don't know the kind of life that you live, but I do know that there are ways to show your noble pride without it coming at the expense of others. If you are going to throw a tantrum of a grudge, then you should reconsider just who it is you're doing this for." I then turn around him and look mad. "If you wish to hear my apology and be done with it. You will start by apologizing to Class Vll. As for Alan. I expect you to apologize to him too. His morale was harm by your words. If Alan spirit is lifted. Then nothing would make me happy. But right now. Begin by Class Vll. And then Alan. Does this sound reasonable?"
"Nrgh…" Patrick clench his fist but sighed. "Yes…"
"Well then, let us be off." I nodded and then walk to my class. Once we're there. I've open and there was my class.
"Welcome back. Is everything going well?" Sara asked
I turn to the door.
"Well?" I respond while my classmates look confused. And then enter Patrick.
"Patrick?" Rean look surprised.
"Gruh…" Patrick clench his fist and then turn to Rean. "Schwarzer."
"Yes?"
"I… Please accept my apologize." And that surprised everyone. "What I have said to you… it was unfitting for a noble. I insulted your honor… and… insulted your pride. Over a petty grudge." Then turn to Alisa. "Miss Reinford. I also wish to apologize to you. As well as the Abroad student, the Jaeger girl, to Lord Jusis… and to all the woman. I apologize for my behavior." Then he bow and turn to me for my reply.
"Next will be Alan. But I'll accept your apology. But I won't forgive you." I respond. "What you said that day… It really stun me to my soul. Granted… I also apologize how I behave to you. Because I do not appreciate such a disrespectful manner. If you truly are sorry for how you hurt me. Then you will do it through your actions." I turn away. "Oh, and please do something about the gossip that been going around. That is your first start."
Patrick muttered and then leave the classroom as I take my seat. While everyone is looking at me.
"What?"

"That's right. While it does make me happy for a pompous ass like him to apologize. I'm surprised he has the guts to do it." Machias said.
"And how you manage to do it too. Not to mention you didn't get expel from the Academy." Elliot ask.
"Yeah… I was really worried there." Rean nodded
"Well. There are right and wrong to many things. Many nobles in Erebonia are corrupted because of their status. I dislike them. Many are misguided by their foolish pride. I still won't forgive him for what he said and did. But as long as he learn from his mistakes. I will forgive him completely."
"Well… I'm glad Patrick is making amends but… you really have to go that far."
"Rean. It is not in my nature to allow him to not apologize to you and everyone else."
"I know… I know… I guess I still thank you for that… Still… I'm still surprised about the whole thing? But… how did you manage convince to not get in trouble?"
"I honestly don't know. I guess his father is a wise and true nobleman. And it's his job to lecture his foolish child. Being a noble doesn't mean you stand above them. You live with them. That is what I think."
Rean look surprised.
"What's wrong?"
"Oh uh… those words are exactly as my father said."
"Really? Wow. Your father is a wonderful man indeed. I can't wait to meet him." I smiled. "Oh. I should get going. I don't want to miss my club meeting." 'Oh and Rean' I whisper to him. 'Thanks for keeping what I said back in Nord a secret between us.' "Later." I wink and then headed off.
As I head to the Riding Club in the Academy Field. Jusis arrived and then we begin to prepared the horses for a nice friendly race over the lap. I won and i gave the horse I've ridden love. Jusis and I have been doing a lot of chatting too while riding the horses together. We began a little closer.

I was in the dorm lounge as I was with my Lyre and I was wondering about something. The music that I play in the Highland. I created it recently yet I couldn't find a proper name for it. I couldn't help but let out a sigh.
"Oh, hey Levi." I heard Rean's voice.
"Oh hey Rean." I look at him. "How is everything going?"
"The same old same old. Everything is going fine."
"Haha. I shouldn't even ask then. Still, you are too kind helping out. Sometimes I worried you might exhaust yourself."
"Yeah it is hard work. But comparing to the Field study task, and student council errand, I'm used to it."
"I suppose that's true. *sigh* I miss riding horses back in the Highland. I want to keep riding all day."
"Won't your legs call asleep? That isn't good, you know."
"Oh no worries. I'm perfectly fine."
"So what are you doing with your Lyre?" Rean asked
"Well… I'm trying to come up with a name for the music I created for awhile."
"Which music?"
"The one back in Nord. I don't know how much you heard but you only heard the small part of it. I'm having a hard time with the name coming."
"Well… I'm not so sure I can help but… if it's okay… mind if I listen to it?" Rean ask
"You do?" I look surprised
"Yeah. I was taken into it to be honest."
I close my eyes and think. And then open my eyes. "Okay, sure. But not in here. Let's go somewhere else."

So me and Rean walk out of the dorm and then we begin to head into the highway a little far from Trista.
"Aren't we a bit far from Trista?" Rean asked as we arrived at the spot I used. "How come you don't want to use the music room or ask Instructor Mary? "
"Well, sort of, but this is the perfect spot. As for the other questions. I would… but… I'm not exactly a member of the band like Elliot. But I could ask Instructor Mary but I thought I should surprise her. I'm not exactly a musician either. It's a hobby." I answered.
"Ah. Okay so let's hear it." Rean nodded
"You got it." I smiled

And then I begin to play the music from my Lyre. The music that I was playing was gentle, hope, heartwarming, nostalgic, those are the words that appeared to my head. After I was done.

"So… what do you think?" I asked
Rean think for a moment and then he smiled.
"It truly is a beautiful song. I can feel your thoughts into it. I may be wrong but I can sense it was gentle, hope, even nostalgic. It was so heartwarming as it brings back memories of my life. Precious memories that I hold so dearly. And continue going onward to this very day." Rean answered
I was surprised when he said that. Yet it makes sense to me.
"Is something the matter?"
"Huh?" I blink. "Oh no. It's just… you truly have a talent for words."
"What do you mean?"
"All the words you use today were exactly how I felt. I couldn't help but feel surprised." I answered with a smile.
"I see. Still, listening to that song was so gentle that it give me strength. I could listen to your playing all day."

"Rean…" I smiled. "Give you strength huh… Strength…" Then click. "I got it…"
"Huh?" Rean look confused.
"Rean, you are the best! I figured it out!" I cheered. "I know the perfect name for it. Tender Strength. That's the name I'm gonna give it."
"Tender Strength… yeah. That does fit the picture." Rean smiled
"Thank you so much Rean. Somehow… when I'm with you… you give me the Tender Strength I needed. Thank you for that."
"Hehe. I'm glad I was able to…somehow." Rean smiled.
"Hehehe. Let's return back, shall we?"

As we return to the city. I begin to study with Jusis. And then soon we got a call from Rean and then ask us to meet up with us at the pool. Curious of why. It was because of Instructor Neithardt. We change into our swimsuits since Rean said he wants to teach us how to swim as effectively as possible. And then Jusis and Machias with their little competition. And then he said we will begin the warmups, into the Manway Method. And Rean wants to compete with me. Me and Rean did just like with Instructor Sara. I said I won't be holding back much like before. And so we begin and then I was a little ahead of him and then he begin to catch up to me and we were neck and neck. And somehow. He won. Even i was holding back a little. he still managed to win! And we been going four race in a row. I'll admit. It gave my body a good work out. And now we're doing the Limit Breaker one. Oh boy. I don't know if my classmates can handle it. Ugh. Did master train me to push me to my limit for something like this would happen? Seriously? If that the case. It would be too freaky! Still, that methods did managed to gain some height for my classmates. While Instructor Nethhardt notice that I was able to keep going as I already break my limits. Or that I have more stamina. Either way we all perform well.
And after a few good rest from that nice swimming training. I begin to head to my dorm and then feed my two familiars. Then i'm going to take a bath when my ARCUS ring. I pick it up.
"Hello?" I asked
"Hi there Levi, it's Rean." Rean said. "Are you up for exploring the old schoolhouse this month?"
"Obviously."
"Great, see you in a moment."
I ended the call and made my way to the old schoolhouse and cancel my bath for now. I had joined up with Rean, Alisa, Jusis, Laura and Emma, we then entered inside.

"Let's have a look at the elevator panel first." Rean suggested. "I'm betting we'll be able to go down to the fourth floor now."
"Are you referring to those 'rules' you and Levi hypothesized last month?" Jusis asked.
"I don't know how it's possible, but I have a weird feeling your and Levi's theory is probably right." Alisa said. "But we should see it for ourselves."
"If anything else, we're given the chance to get even more stronger." I added.
"Right. time to get this month's investigation started." Rean said.
We walked to the door and opened it to go to the elevator room, we looked at the panel and there was now a blue hexagon lighting up the IV icon.
"Just as I thought. Or we thought" I said. "We can go one floor deeper now."
"Yeah, let's head on down." Rean Replied.
Emma nodded. "I'm ready."
Pushing the button, the elevator took us to the fourth floor. When we saw the room around us, it was a lot bigger than the rest, there was also a small door to the right. But I sense higher elements like back in the ancient quarry.
"Ah…" I hummed
"What's up Levi?" Rean asked
"The area around… or level here feel just like back in the ancient quarry. I can sense the higher elements in this place. It's active." I answered
"So the same phenomenon that occurred in Nord is happening here." Jusis respond
"Interesting." Laura hummed
"It might be a possibility there a connection here, based on the journey we've had so far." I answered. "That reminds me, I haven't formed a combat link with you yet, Alisa, Laura and Emma. Do you mind if we give it a go?"
"Oh yeah, I haven't with you." Alisa said.
"I always wanted to experience a combat link with you Levi. We have spar before as well." Laura added
"But the question is which one of us can combat link with you." Emma nervous laugh. "Actually, mind I combat link with you?"
"Sure. Will it be okay with you two?" I asked Laura and Alisa
"Sure. We can combat link another time." Alisa nodded
"Same. Looking forward to it." Laura added
"Great. Let's head off then." I smiled
"Right. I'm betting the monsters will be even stronger than what we've dealt with on previous floors, too." Rean said. "Stay on your guard, everyone."
We went through the door and began our exploring through the areas of the fourth floor, finding chests, battling the monsters and getting stronger by using our combat links all the while. During the battles, Emma and I were working well with the combat links. Her Orbal Arts and Craft is impressive. We were both a magical team. Of course we each took turns so we could keep the bond improving. We eventually made it to the depths, so we prepared ourselves and entered a big room where a trio of giant floating statues were waiting for us. They let out their roar and we begin to draw out our weapons.

We begin to fight the stone monsters. If I had to bet. They might possess the same thing with the previous monsters with their laser eyes and screech. As I charge as Emma casting Arts. We took one on the left as the others take on the center. The monster shoot laser as me and Fie dodge it and she launched some magic blades and then I confront it and let out slashes strong attacks as it. It screech and then I throw my Glaive at it and shot the jewel on the face and stop it. I zoom and then lick it as Emma launched some Arts. And then she begin to buff me. An upcoming attack from one of the monsters who fire laser and then I toss my Glaive onto the monster as payback. And then return it to me and Emma cast Arts onto monster. The monster charge at it but we dodge and then i launch some slashes to get it's attention and Emma use that change to launch some Orb at it. I begin to cast an Arts and then Blades of condensed insanity rain from above and harm the monster. Emma launched Orbs as it and I follow up. End of defeating it and then join the others. Once the monsters were done. The battle was over.

"That was certainly a lot tougher then the previous one. Still, it was a worthy battle." I smiled. "Still. Just like the previous floor guardians. There's nothing to be gain from here."
"Yeah, plus the powerful force you brought up… and that something is testing us is correct." Rean replied.
Suddenly, we heard a rumble from far away that surprised us.
"Huh!? What was that?" I asked.
"It sounded like it came from somewhere in this building." Jusis answered.
"This hasn't happened before, has it?" Alisa asked.
"I think we should head up for now and assess the situation." Rean replied. "Let's head back to the elevator room."
I notice Emma expression. She knows something about this place, doesn't she? When we got back, were in for a quite a surprise, a large section of the wall was now gone and in its place was a massive red door with an usual shape in the middle. Wait... This door… it can't be… This door… if I remember right… this door with that shape in the middle… that's… where the Divine Knight are sealed! Master taught me this in the lost knowledge study. So… this dungeon… it is related to the dark ages.
I notice everyone is trying to unlock the door. And so I help out… but I can't use my power to activate the door. It will cause a trigger as a key if it does. That is… what is what my master said. Then I notice once Rean got close to the door. I notice he look in pain and touch his chest. Did… did he felt something just now? Hmm… anyway… we decided that our investigation is over. We left the school house. I don't sense that cat as well.
"Already sunset. So you're going to report this?" I ask.
"Yeah. The principal isn't here today so I'll report this to Instructor Sara." Rean nodded.
"Right. Oh. I should upgrade my ARCUS and look over my equipment. If you excuse me." I smiled.

Rean begin to lock the Old Schoolhouse and then I begin to head to the engineer building. I knock on the door.
"Come in." A voice said inside.
And then I enter and then I found George.
"Hey there George." I waved
"Hey Levi. It's been awhile." George replied with a waved
"Sorry for not coming here for awhile. I was busy as always." I nervous laugh.
"Ah no worries. So what can I do for you?"
"I need you to upgrade my ARCUS. There are Slots need open and upgraded.
"Sure. Give it here. Don't forget it's also gonna cost ya."
"I know, It's a pleasure."
And so I begin to give him a handful of Mira from the Mass Selphs I got back then and from the Old School house and Field study. I begin sit down as I wait.
"So how have you been Levi? Oh and how's that update you got too?"
"Pretty good actually. I had a blast in the old schoolhouse. And the update helps a lot. I gain another passive effect. My attacks increase then regularly." I answered
"Really? That's a surprise. So how was the Schoolhouse?"
"The monster are getting stronger. Which was perfect training and money hunting."
"Haha. Sounds like you're being greedy there." George chuckled.
"I guess It does sound like that." I chuckled as we both laugh.
Just then, I heard an engine from outside before it stopped, then the door opened and in came a woman that was dressed in leather and had short indigo hair.
"Oh, welcome back, Gelica." George said.
"Hey there, George." She replied before noticing me. "Oh, you must be from Class VII, huh?"
"That's right." Then I recognize her. "Oh wait. I remember you. You're also one of those students from the first day of the exam."
"Wow. I'm surprised you remember me that far. And I got to say. Your senses are very sharp if you notice we were there."
"Yeah. Oh. My name is Levi. Levi Sullivan."
"Nice to meet you Levi. I'm Angelica."
"Likewise Angelica. What was that engine from outside?"
"Oh that was my Orbal bike, I like to enjoy a free ride along the highway a few times."
"Gelica also built that Orbal bike, we're currently working on building a sidecar so there can be one passenger to go along for the ride." George added.
"Rean's been learning to ride my precious bike. He's got a good handle on it too."
"Wait… Rean? Orbal Bike?" I title my head.
"Oh. It was awhile back." George said and then went to the counter. "Okay Levi. All slots are available to you and they're upgraded as promise."
"Thanks." I got up and then take my upgraded ARCUS. Once I did. Yep. They're open and upgraded. And then begin to place in my new Quarts I got back in Nord. And I felt… sharper… stronger. Wow… Orbal revelation is amazing. And these ARCUS too. "Thanks George. I'll come back again." I smiled and then turn to Angelica.
"No problem. Pleasure during business with you."
"And nice to meet you Angelica."
"You too Mr. Handsome. Do take care of yourself." Angelica waved goodbye and then I waved goodbye and I left the building.
"Nice. I got everything settle with my ARCUS. Now for the equipment. I should-" And then I sense a presence coming towards me and I saw a girl running to me and then she bump into me. "Whoa!"

Then I collapse on the ground and landed on my butt. And I shake my head and then see the same girl. she was dressed in a dark dress and had long navy blue hair. She's cute.
"Whoa, you okay?" I got up and walk up to her and offer her my hand.
She looked at me. "I'm alright, thank you." She replied and took my hand so she could stand up. "Please forgive me, I should've been looking where I was going."
"It's okay, I should've been paying more attention. I haven't seen you around here before, are you here on a visit?"
"Why yes." She did a light bow to me in a light blush. "I am Elise Schwarzer. A pleasure to make your acquaintance."
I suddenly blinked. "Schwarzer? Wait… are you...Rean's sister?"
"Yes I am. I came here to visit him in regards to the letters has has sent to me. You must be one of his friends, correct?"
"Of course. He's actually one of my classmates too from the same class. Are you looking for him?" I asked
"No… I just met him…" She answered as she sound upset.
"Is something the matter?" I asked.
She sighed. "I'm afraid so."
"Oh. It's you…"
And then I remember that familiar voice and then me and Elise turn our heads and see the brat.
"Hello Patrick." I cross my arm.
"Is he a friend of yours?" Elise asked.
"Not in the slightest. And what brings you here?"
"Nothing, I can assure you. And who is this with you?" Patrick answered and look at Elise. "Wait… that uniform… Oh, pardon me. Please let me introduce myself. My name is Patrick. Patrick Hyarms. I'm sure you've heard the name before."
"Hyarms?" Elise asked. Then she bow. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Elise Schwarzer, daughter of Baron Schwarzer."
"Ah, Elise? Such a lovely-sounding name." Patrick smiled. Which I am surprised. "Wait a second…! Schwarzer? As in Rean Schwarzer? Are you his sister?"
"Y-Yes? Rean is my older brother."
"Ugh… why does she have to be related to that cre-"
"Patrick." I glare at him.
"Ah…" Now he gulp.
And now Elise see what's the relationship with him and Rean.
"It seems you're not in the best of terms with my brother. I don't wish to cause you any unpleasantness, so I'll just excuse myself." Elise said and she ran off.
"N-No, you aren't… I mean…"
"Smooth, Patrick." I scoff. "You were this close to insult Rean. I see you still have NOT learn your lesson. But I have no time to lecture you. I better follow her." And then I ran off and follow Rean sister. As I follow her. She went down the path of the old schoolhouse. Wait… how is the Old Schoolhouse open!? I remember Rean close it! Oh no, she enter it! I better hurry and catch up to her.

"Elise wait!" I called out and then she stop and turn to me as I arrived in the old school house.
"Oh. Mr. Levi." Elise said.
"Phew. I manage to catch up." I said and then look around. "How is this possible…"
"What's possible? And what is this place?"
"This is the Old Schoolhouse." I answered. "It's a… very ancient building, hints the term… old. Anyway, you shouldn't be in this building. It's really dangerous if you go further. Plus I remember it was lock as well… how was it possible?" I then begin to think.
"It was? Strange." Elise said.
Then I notice to the left and see that cat! Elise turn and see the cat too.
"A cat?"
"What is the cat doing here?" I ask in suspicious.
The familiar meow and went further.
"Is it asking us to follow it?" I wondered. "Wait no. This isn't the time for that. Elise. This building is dangerous. We should head back."
"But… wont it endanger the cat? I won't do us good to leave it here."
"I can understand your concern but…"
"But what?" Elise asked.
"Something about that cat is… mysterious." I answered
"How so?" Elise ask.
"Let just say she's no ordinary cat, In a way. But it's dangerous for you to be here. You should exit the building. I'll go get the cat."
"But I wish to help out too. Worry not. I can handle myself." Elise said.
"You can?" I blink.
"Yes. I'm concern for the cat. So we should be off."
"Hold on but-" Then Elise head to the door. "Wait Elise… ooh…" I sighed and then follow her. "Okay fine. But let me inform your brother."
"That won't be necessary." Then she sound upset.
"Why not?" I asked
"It's…" Elise look sad and then we arrived at the elevator. "Where's that cat we saw earlier?"
"Good question… I don't see anywhere it can hid itself…" I replied. 'But I still feel that cat's presence… is she below? How did it get there? Wait… that level… isn't that there-' Then I saw Elise walk up to the elevator. "Wait, hold up!" And then I ran to her.
"What is this machine?" Elise asked
"It's an Elevator back in the Dark ages. But you really shouldn't be in this ele-" Then suddenly the elevator act on it's own! Me and Elise didn't touch it! We went down to the floor where we discovered that door with the unusual mark on it.
"What the… How did we- wait never mind. Elise, are you okay?" I turn to her.
"Y-Yes. I'm fine." She answered as she got up.
"We should get out of here. It's dangerous to be here now."
"But… what about the cat?" Then she turn to the door. "And that door…"
"I don't know where that cat it. I don't see it." But It's presence is very close by. From… above?' "Elise. It's dangerous to be here. Let's get out of here. I'll find the cat, I promise. Let me call your brother."
She sighed. "Very well… but may we look around a bit more? Please?"
Good grief…
"Alright. But don't get to close to that door." I pick up my ARCUS and then call Rean. Once he answered as Elise look at the door and we got a distance look. "Hello, Rean-"
"Levi! Thank goodness you call! Is my sister with you!?" Rean suddenly shout which hurt my ears.
"Whoa, calm yourself! Wait… how did you know that?"
"Crow saw you were with her."
"Crow? Oh never mind. Yes, I'm with her. We're in the Old Schoolhouse."
"WHAT!? WHY WOULD YOU TAKE HER THERE?!"
"I didn't take her there!" I exclaimed. I never heard or see him so panicked. "Long story short. We encounter Patrick, then she discovered you and him don't get along. And then she ran in here and I follow her. The strangest thing Is that I saw you lock the Old school house and It was open!"
"What?!"
"Thats when she went inside. I came in after her. I tried to get her to leave the schoolhouse. Then we saw a black cat. It look like it tried to lure us somewhere and Elise wanted to follow it. But I told her it is dangerous to go further but she insisted until we get the cat outside. Do you remember that strange large door we discovered recently? Well somehow the elevator activated on it's own and then we were here. Elise look around for the cat but no sign. Can you- Huh?"
Then I heard a click from the large door.
"FORTH LOCK REALSED… INITAZATION COMPLETE. POTENTIAL AWAMENER WAVEFORM CONFIRMED WTHIN 50 ARGE. COMMENCING THE FIRST TRIAL…"
Suddenly the lock door open with that strange mechanical voice. Then a large headless armored knight appeared within the large door and got closer to us.

"WHAT THE HELL!?"
"Eeeeeek!" Elise screamed as she pass out
"Levi! What happening!?" Rean exclaimed
"Rean! Get everyone! Get in here!"
I turn off my ARCUS and quickly pick up Elise jump back to keep her from a safe distance when suddenly the Elevator went up.
"Are you kidding me!?" I growled and sighed. I had no choice but to fight and keep it away from Elise. "Elise, stay behind this pillar. I'll handle it."
"O-Okay." Elise gulped as I place her down and then she hide behind the pillar and then grab my Glaive and then I begin to confront the Headless armored Knight as it swing it's sword at me but I deflect it and counter it. This Headless armored Knight… it's really strong! Perfect! I won't hold back much.
The Headless Knight swing it's massive sword but I dodge and then thrusts forward once, then slashes downwards right. It swing again and like I've did before. I dodge and then does a counterclockwise spin and slashes downwards left, then follow up with a clockwise spin jump to slash downwards right. I then jumps and slams my Glaive onto the ground in front of me, then stands in place and twirls my Glaive above my head, then does spinning jump slash, then lands with a big downwards slash.
The Headless Knight let out a roared and push me back but then I use my craft Whirl dance and push it back. Then I swings my Glaive diagonally right, then left, then upward, then moves back and thrusts my Glaive forward. The Headless Knight did a powerful swing projection and then a wide slash and then I dodge it and then I swirl fast my Glaive onto the boss and then let a wide slash counter back and send it flying. And then I charge at it and jumps into the air and unleashes a flurry of rapid spear jabs at a downwards angle, then comes down swinging my Glaive to the right.
The Headless Knight got back up and then let a strong slash and I dodge it another one and another and then I wildly swings my Glaive in front of me, then spins it in a circular fashion and swings it hard and push it back.
The Headless Knight sword projection at me and then cause the pillars to rise up and push me back giving me some damage and then I zoom and thrusts forward, then slashes downwards left. Then slashes upwards, thrusts forward again, then does a spinning slash to the right. Spins while twirling my Glaive and slashes upwards, then does a short spinning jump to do a downwards slash. As it about to attack. I deflect it and then I strikes from the right to the left, then performs a double attack consisting of a spin on the right side with a slash to the left. With a forceful slash upward, I then lunges forward while spinning my Glaive overhead. With a leap, I materials another replica and imbue both with light magic to my Glaive chucks my Glaive forward to create a golden blast and push it back. As it was this close to defeat. I use my S craft Arie Galaxy on it and then was defeated. I step back and then fall no it's back. It was one hell of an opponent. My Knees gave out and I stab my Glaive on the ground to support.
"Hah… Hah… what… a good battle…" I panted.
Then I felt presence coming closer. But before I do. I look up and give a death glare. Because I saw that black cat.
'You little-' And then the elevator came down and then appeared, Rean, Crow and… Patrick?
"Levi! Elise!" Rean shout.
"Rean!" Elise called out from the pillar next to it.

And then he ran towards Elise. Wow. Thanks Rean. But I get it. She must be so precious to you. Anyway, Crow and Patrick check on me and the headless armor.
"Whoa… holy crap…" Crow exclaimed
"A giant headless armor?" Patrick asked
"Yo, you okay?"
"Yep… hah… hah… I'm fine… it was… ha… one hell of a opponent." I answered as I am exhausted from fighting that hard solo against so a powerful monster. It's not as strong as the Crypids and powerful monsters master made me face alone but it's enough to give me a challenge. It would had take longer but my Master Quartz and those Quarts I got from Liam really help.
"Damn.. you took that giant metal all on your own?! I've heard you were one of the strongest first years but damn!"
Then more presence coming.
"Here comes the cleanup crew." Crow said as we all turn and then see my classmates, George, Angelica, Instructor Sara and Towa.
Crow help me got up as he place my arm over his neck and carrying me while my right arm was still holding my weapon.
"Levi! Are you all right?!" Alisa asked
"Yeah… I'm fine." I answered as I got my breath.
"What happen here?" Machias asked as he see the giant headless Knight.
"A giant suit of armor?" Gaius wondered
"It look like something imbued with the magic of the Dark Ages." Jusis replied
"I can't begin to imagine what must have transpired here." Laura said.
"Well, a tough fight did, at least." Fie stated.
"Levi, you okay?" Rean asked me as he and Elise join up and appoached
"Yeah. I'm okay. Thanks for asking me now though." I look at him with a joke.
"Ah, I.. uh…"
I couldn't help but laugh. "I'm joking. I understand she's very important to you. You are her brother."
"Yeah… thank you so much for protecting Elise the entire time… I'm really… really glad…"
"Of course… it what friends do..." I weakly chuckled. Then notice as I gleam to Emma as she glares at the cat. Ahh… so that cat belongs to you after all…Emma. "Anyway… I'm gonna take a rest now. I might need some healing too."
"Yeah, of course." Rean nodded.
"Thank you for saving me." Elise bow.
"Of course. So… what's up with you two?" I asked
"Ah…" Elise look at Rean. And Rean might look ashame.
"I'll ask tomorrow. Right now, let's head to the infirmary so I can heal up." I said. And then Crow and Rean help me head to my dorm room to rest.
Well, that was quite the battle. Granted, it would take Levi longer in that fight. But thanks to his Master Quarts, and using his strength which is still a mystery of how strong he is and the Quartz.
