The groups soon regrouped in the center of the museums.
"Okay...looks like this is all of them." Theo said.
"Huh...doesn't look like there are any soldiers here." Jexi said.
"Maybe we lost them back in those time periods." Shura said.
"Possibly...let's take advantage of the quiet before they decide to come back." Double D said.
They placed the four keys into the slots as the door glowed as it opened up wide.
"Well, shall we?" Bloodless asked.
"Yeah, let's hurry on in." Ultra said as the group walked through the door.
They walked through before finding a number of objects along with treasures and money inside.
"Oh man. We hit the motherload!" Kokoro said.
"The Honjo Masamune Sword? The plane of Amelia Earhart? The crown jewels of Ireland...this is every historical treasure thought lost to history!" Cheetah said.
"It's amazing, I've never seen anything like this before." Miriam said in awe.
"A lot of this belongs in actual museums." Robin said.
"Or financing our continuing war." a voice said as they turned to see the general standing there with a few soldiers with guns armed and ready.
"Oh come on, you guys again?" David asked.
"Well...I must say...this is quite the discovery. Thank you so much for doing all the work for us." the general said.
"Hold it right there, buddy. We didn't pull all that effort just so you can skate by and take all the credit." David said.
"Who are you?" Emil asked before being shot in the leg.
"Emil!" Ace called out.
"Oh...how clumsy. My gun accidentally misfired." the general said. "Now...we will be taking all this treasure...unless you all want to join the exhibits."
"Why are you even doing this?" Ethox asked.
"You have any idea how costly war is? Our funds are running low. However, with all this...we'll conquer the world without much effort." the general said.
"I've heard enough… Talking to scum like you is a waste of time." Sectonia said.
"Oh...poor girl." he said before shooting Sectonia. "We aren't going anywhere."
"You would even shoot a woman? Have you no manners?" Sectonia asked.
"Won't matter anyway. Once we take all of this, we'll have our tanks outside tear this building down with you all inside. Also, we'll be taking that nice little thing you have outside." the general said.
"Our ship? Over our dead bodies!" Hope said.
"Uh...that is kinda the idea." the general said.
"It won't matter. You're not laying your hands on anything." Sectonia said.
"It's pathetic how you keep acting like you have any…" the general said as the building shook. "Chance? What is going on? I ordered them not to fire."
"Sir!" a soldier said running in. "Our enemies...they've found us and we're taking heavy fire."
"What?!" the general said in shock.
"Guess you didn't account for outside help." Sectonia said. "Face it, your war is over."
"Well...this just got easier." Theo said as he attacked a couple of soldiers. "Take out the soldiers and then grab as much of this stuff as you can!"
"Cheetah, Veevee, you two focus on taking the loot. We'll keep these guys busy!" Sectonia said.
"Got it!" UlforceVeedramon said.
"As you wish." Cheetah said.
"O healing power…" Marta chanted. "Heal!" she called, healing Emil's wound.
"Ugh...I still feel the pain." Emil groaned.
"The bullet must still be inside. We'll have to pull it out when we're out." Chopper said.
"In the meantime we'll handle this." Garr said, drawing an arrow.
"We need to give our speedsters time to grab all the loot. Don't hold anything back against these punks!" David said.
"Forget the pistols...switch to heavy artillery." the general said as they switched to machine guns and began rapid firing at them.
Mayumi brought out a rocket launcher as she started firing at them.
"Not too big, Mayumi. We don't want this place to cave in on us yet." Sectonia said.
"Right. Sorry." Mayumi said as she switched to a sniper rifle and got out of sight.
"Here I go!" Philia called, chanting a spell with Clemente behind cover before lifting him up. "Ray!" she called as beams of light rained down onto a group of soldiers.
"Don't know who you soldiers are, don't care who you are…" Mark said as he battered soldiers all across the room. "People like you, who don't give a damn about others, only thinking of your own benefit… you're all pieces of crap!" he declared.
"Gah...you fools! You have no idea what we are...ah!" The general called out as a sniper round got his kneecap.
"Oof...that had to hurt." Mirror Match said.
"Doesn't matter if you kill me...as long as the enemy still thinks we're in here...you'll never make it out alive." the general said.
"Man, talk about pathetic. You are so keen to keeping wars going, you ended up lost in your own world." David said.
"What? That...that doesn't even...ugh…" the general said as he passed out from the pain.
The museum then shook as part of the ceiling fell.
"Uh...time to go." Pikachu said.
"Alright, that's everything! Let's get out of here!" Cheetah said as she and UlforceVeedramon were carrying a multitude of bags of loot.
They hurried out of the museum just as the enemy army was finishing the other army as well as demolishing the museum.
"Hmm...no one could have survived that...scour for survivors and then execute them." the enemy general said, watching from afar.
"Sir, visual on a potential third party." a soldier said, looking at the group through binoculars. "We have enough troops to intercept-"
"No," the general said. "let them go. We came here to wipe out the stratocracy that terrorized their country, not pick a fight with adventurers. Besides… I have a feeling that we wouldn't stand a chance. Order the troops not to engage them if they spot this group."
"Yes, sir." the soldier said, relaying the order to the rest of their forces while the general watched the group make their way to their ship.
"Thank goodness. We managed to escape." Theo said.
"That was just crazy, though… Just who the hell were those guys we kept running into?" David asked.
"As I said...soldiers from a neighboring country trying to get a foothold." Roku said. "This is a world engaged in unending war after all."
"And we just escaped a crumbling museum with our lives and possibly the biggest score we could hope to get. They clearly didn't want anyone else to have these." Belladonna said.
"Because all of these are lost historical finds that would be worth trillions today. Maybe more." Cheetah said.
"Hmm...you know...we should probably stop by some museum to drop off these artifacts." Mark said.
"Well, it's not like we can actually keep this stuff. Even if some of them are pretty tempting." David said.
"Yeah...I do kinda like this." Meowth said holding a trophy.
"That's the Jules Rimet Cup from the World series. It's been missing since the 70s." Ulrich said.
"Oh...lord Saizo…" Froakie said as he looked out.
"Hey, little Froakie… Saizo would've wanted you to live your life for his sake as well." Kabuki said.
"Quite right. Until the day we meet again, I shall work to become a great ninja." Froakie said.
"You can do it while being a part of Team Ginhana Sky. They'd be happy to have you." Hope said.
"I shall accept the request." Froakie said.
"Well...now that we're out of a warzone...can we go somewhere a little more...tropical?" Rarity asked.
"Tropical?" Ethox asked.
"Ah...the jeune fille may be referring to the coral reef of the Ocean Universe. The most belle place you shall ever see in that universe." Le Kraken said.
"Oh yeah, it'll be nice to go to that universe again in a way." Ajna said.
"I agree. After that dungeon, we could use some time to take in some rays and water." Mermista said.
"Hopefully without us ending up in some fish's dream." Kaede said.
"Fish's dream?" Cobalt asked.
"Uh...we'll explain on the way." Jexi said.
"It's a long story." Lana added.
