Me, Rean and Fie return to the HQ last night. And Alisa was so pissed at me. I'm surprised Sharon gave that idea. Still, we told them what we got from Captain Claire. And until today, we were standing outside the HQ building and ready for the second day of our field study.
Fie yawned. "I'm tired..."
"So am I, but I also feel refreshed." I said. "Might be because of the mountains."
"I'll say. Compared to the capital, the air quality is pristine." Machias added.
"Heh. Well, the capital DOES have a few hundred thousand more people living there." Rean added
"But still, I was mind blown at someone pretending to be a girl." Crow said. "I gotta give you credit for that, Levi."
I laughed nervously. "I know right. But a certain someone just glared at me for deceiving her."
Alisa muttered as she glared at me.
"Oh come on, Alisa. It was a harmless little joke."
"A JOKE!? It was more than a 'harmless little joke'! I was completely convinced after what Rean told me last night. I had to apologize to him for even thinking that. And for you to pretend to be a girl JUST for you to see my reaction!? I can't even fathom how angry I am with you."
"Wow. I don't know what you and Rean talk last night but it sounds serious. Almost like a couple thing. Right, Crow?"
"Ooh yeah. Now that you mention it. It does sound like that." Crow smirked.
"Clearly Crow's influence has affected Levi. We don't need ANOTHER Crow in the group."
"Hey, come on, what's wrong with that?"
"Okay, okay, I get it. I'm sorry Alisa. In my defense, I really was going to the Blacksmith shop to upgrade my weapon. Plus wasn't aware that you and Rean were discussing something after I ran into him."
"Well... I suppose that's true." Alisa sighed.
"And despite not knowing and all that. I'm glad I accompany him, considering how easy it would be to get the wrong idea. I wouldn't want to put Rean in an awkward position. I was looking at for him like any other good friend would."
"Well, I can't deny that it was a kind thing you did." Machias said. "But even if we assume Captain Claire is trustworthy, I'm not sure how wise it was for you two to go out on your own."
"In my case, it was fine. As for Rean, he had to, cause we also wanted some answers. I also give her credit for not being in her uniform despite the growing tensions going on." I stated
"I'm guessing she's more than strong enough to handle herself." Fie said. "Not sure what her weapon of choice is, though."
"I wish I could've seen her all dolled up though. Bet she was a real knockout." Crow sighed. "C'mon. That would put a spring in any man's step. I don't blame you for sneaking out alone."
"Now now, Crow." I nervous laugh. "It's best not to talk about it. Despite how beautiful she was in the dress."
"Oh really? You seem pretty taken by her when she showed up yesterday, Levi. I can say the same for Rean. You even flirted with her and offer to sweep her off her feet." Fie smirked
"And who was that?!" Alisa smiled but she look even more piss off.
"That was me, Alisa." I answered
"Oh." And now she felt fine.
"Oh so you're fine if it was me but when it's was Rean, you're not. Okay, I think that's enough of this conversation. Don't you agree, Rean."
Rean nodded. "Yeah, it's for the best. But man I'm so glad you were with me to clear things up. Still, thanks to the information we got from her, we have a pretty good idea of what's going on here in Roer. And now that we know, we should be able to do something about it. What do you think, Alisa?"
She nodded. "Yeah, I'm in."
"So in short, the Railway Military Police are investigating the 1st Factory which did something that caught their attention and the Provincial Army is trying to prevent that from happening." Machias said. "Also, let's not forget that the 1st Factory is run by none other than the Noble Faction."
"Yeah, that's pretty much the gist of it." I replied.
"I know that the divisional directors have been operating without much in the way of executive oversight for years now, but mother always allowed it." Alisa said. "She thought that encouraging competition among the divisions would yield more innovations. I never thought that it would lead to something like this."
At least she's taking this well, I thought she would freak out, but I guess not.
"Seems like the lesser of two evils." Fie said.
"By the way, hearing about the 1st factory made me curious. Do the other divisions have their own political allegiances?" Crow asked.
"Well, to give you a basic idea. Divisions are made of many people and they all have their own opinions. But the positions of each division's directors are clear as day, though." Alisa explained. "The 1st and 2nd Factories in particular have had a pretty fierce rivalry going on between them for years. But even still, I wouldn't have expected the 1st Factory to do something flagrant enough to prompt a military inspection."
"Neither would I." Rean nodded.
"All right! We're gonna do whatever it takes to get to the bottom of this. And when we tie this up all nice and neat for her, even my mother will have to admit she's grateful to us!" Alisa pouted
"Sounds like a plan." Fie agreed.
"Oh yeah" I cheered
"Offhand, I'd say this falls under the scope of our field study, too." Machias added
"Thanks, everyone." Alisa smiled
"Sounds like we're in for a ride." Crow said.
"
Rean laughed. "Anyway, let's take a look at the field study task Sharon gave us."
He opened the envelope to see today's request.
"A monster on the Nortia Highway, that should be nearby." I said.
"It's still 8:am, so we have plenty of time to work our way through the list." Machias replied.
"And while we're doing that, we can ask the people we meet about how things stand between Reinford's division. Look alive, everyone. It's time to get to work." Rean added. "Nortia Highway should be on the west side of Roer."

We went down the escalator and took a right turn, passing by a small diner and through the tunnel to the exit. In front of us was a highway road. With it being a clear day, this would be no problem. We traveled along the roadway and took a turn onto the grassy path.
"The monster we're looking for should be around here." Rean said.
"Yeah. We'd better be careful." Machias added.
"Actually, didn't Jusis's brother say his airship was stationed just off a highway on the outskirts of the city?" Fie asked.
"Oh yeah, he did say that." I recalled.
"The area ahead seem like a real maze, too." Alisa added. "You think it could be around here?"
"Hmm. Landing right where the Railway Military Police wouldn't think to look." Rean hummed
"I wouldn't put it past him. He seems like a cunning individual." Machias replied
"Considering he's on the board of directors and from what Jusis told me about him. I should be wary of him." I said.
"If we were coming here to dish on Rufus, I would've brought tea and cake." Crow said as he place his hands over his head."C'mon, People! We've got ourselves a monster to hunt!"
"Heh. You're right. Stay alert, everyone." Rean nodded.
We dealt with few monsters along the way, flying bugs being the most tedious to deal with. It was a slight maze to go through, but we made it to the large area at the top to find a multi-headed monster and there were three of them.
"There it is." Machias pointed.
"A hydra?!" I exclaimed.
"Definitely not the kind of beast you'd tangle with by choice." Alisa said.
"I don't think it's anything we can't handle." Rean added.
"But let's double check our equipment. Just to be safe." Fie advised.
Crow nodded. "Sounds good. Ready when you are."
"Machias, Shall we form a combat link?" I asked
"Yeah. I got you covered." Machias nodded.
We prepared our equipment and quartz before entering the battle.

We formed the combat links and took on each one in pairs. Crow and Fie used their range and close attack combo quite well before eliminating one. Rean and Alisa used the assists to their advantage and overwhelmed the second hydra. Me and Machias had the third one to deal with, as I use my Piercing Throw and the Third head charge at me which I predicted an then leap over it and then I plunger into the beast's head and Machias launch out bullets at it and adding some powerful energy blast. And then with everyone's help. We defeated it and ended the battle.

"All right. That takes care of that." Crow said as we put our weapons away.
Fie glanced around the area and lightly sniffed. "Yep, I thought so. Looks like Rufus did land his airship here." Fie answered
"How can you tell?" Rean asked
"They leave fairly distinctive indentations in the ground. Looks like he's flying one of the latest Reinford models too." Fie answered
Alisa blinked. "You can tell that without even seeing the ship itself?"
"I believe she's right. As someone who is attuned with nature. Even I can smell it. even if it very faint. Plus she used to be part of jaeger. So it wouldn't be surprising to know that she has a stronger sense of smell than we do." I answered. "Anyways, we should get back to rest a little."
"Yeah. It's not over till we report to the client." Rean agreed.
"Sweet, the best part of any mission is the reward at the end." Crow said.
"And what reward are you thinking?" I asked
"Best to leave it at that Levi." Alisa said
We left the area and walked back to the city, when we suddenly heard a siren go off.
"What..." Rean was the first to hear it.
"Uh oh...was this the bad feeling I was having?" I asked myself.
We then saw a building in the distance that was covered in smoke.
"I see smoke!" Fie exclaimed.
"Is it coming from the factory?!" Alisa asked.
"Was there an explosion?" Machias added.
"Damn, we better see what's going on." Crow said.

We rushed over to the building and saw three men that were outside. A worker there was coughing.
"I thought I was done for..." The worker panted
"Is everyone alright?" Rean asked
"What the heck happened here?" I asked.
"I... I don't know. They came from out of nowhere. Monsters, in the factory." A soldier answered
"Monsters?" Alisa asked.
"In the middle of a city?" Crow added.
"These weren't your everyday beasties." A worker answered. "They were more...mechanical."
"You thinking what I'm thinking?" Fie asked.
Machias nodded. "Yeah. Sounds like the archaisms we fought at Garrelia Fortress."
Then the building above explored a bit more. And the worker pointed out there are still workers there.
"Why haven't the Railway Military Polie arrived yet? Or the provincial army?!" Machias asked
Yes. Machias's right. They should be here by now to help out. What's taking them so long? What building is this? And why are the Archcaism is in that building?
"We need to go in." Rean said
I blinked. "You serious?"
"The people in there need help, and right now, it looks like we're the only one who can give it to them. How many minutes until the fire claims someone we could've saved? I'm not about to just stand by and do nothing!" Rean stated
"You make a valid point, but the RMP aren't here. You heard what Claire said. You sure you want us to go against her word?"
"Every second counts here." Fie said at me. "The sooner we go in, the better chance we have of saving those inside."
"You can help us out by evacuating everyone still in this area." Machias added.
"Well, you have a point, but..." The soldier trailed off.
"Sounds like we're just gonna have to pin our hopes on you guys!" The worker replied.
"I beg you, save the others inside!" The guy in the lab coat added.
We nodded and rushed inside the building towards a big area where there three more workers and two soldiers running away from a giant walking mechanical monster. Definitely not what we had seen before.
"What kind of Archiasm is that?! A tank-like one!?" I exclaimed
"Leave this to us!" Machias exclaimed as that got the mechanical monster's attention to us.
"You guys make sure all the workers are evacuated!" Alisa added.
The workers replied and they ran away to help with the evacuation.
"Looks like we're dealing with one of those archaisms after all." Crow replied. "Though I've gotta admit, it seems like a meaner breed than the ones we fought in Garrelia Fortress."
"It's packing some serious firepower, too. If we let our guard down, we're finished." Fie added
"All right. Let's it from focusing its fire and take it out!" Rean command.
The battle began as we comfort the Archaism with strength Arts and it launched some laser blast at us as we dodge and then we resume some damage in return as I slash to the left and the others join as well. While Machias, Crow and Alisa shoot from the distance. Next, the Archaism equip with a beam laser sword and attack us and we dealt some damage to it, but it fought back with a few strong attacks. This wasn't going to be easy, we kept on fighting back and it was working, but then it unleashed a powerful attack that knocked us back quite a bit away from it. This machine is strong. Holding back is no longer an option. But where's the fun in that. Still… I guess I had no choice.
"Well… this is quite the Machine. This is really good battle training. But since we're in a hurry. Guess I'll just use THAT!" I smirked
" 'That?' " Crow asked
"Watch this." I smirked and then. "Fire, Water, Earth, Wind." A magic circle appeared under me as I was channeling elemental power through me. As I open my hand and color orbs of each element appeared. Then pointed my finger in front of me and the Orbs charge at the Archaism "Time, Space, Mirage." then I call the upper elements and the orbs appeared over me, and surrounding me. "Imbue my Glaive. And outshine the darkness." Then the orbs of Time, Space and Mirage enter the Glaive and it glow and change form into a glittering power as the blade of the Glaive extended and glimmering light resembles the stars in the night. "Your time is up. Say your prayers." then spins around and swings my Glaive to the left, then swings my Glaive upward with a black energetic slash, then makes a Golden slash to the left, then I swirl my finger and the elemental orbs swirl turning into a fire tornado, then water vortex, Tornado, and sandstorm and the orbs stop and separate, as I finish by spinning and slamming her spear down with a Silver slash. And then I snap my finger and the orbs charge at the enter and trapping the Archaism into a dome. I raise my Glaive high and rainbow energy appeared as the elements join together. "Sirius Storm!" Then one final rainbow slash down and a glyph of stars appeared and then a pillar of rainbow light appeared forming an orb then shattered into rainbow sparkles. The Archaism had broken into several pieces before vanishing away. This battle was over.

"Wow...what was that?" One of the workers asked.
"That was extraordinary!" A man in a lab coat added.
"It wasn't that bad." I chuckled in embarrassment as I scratch my cheeks. I turn back to my classmates but they jaw dropped. "What?"
"Are you all unharmed?!" a female voice as we turn and see it's captain Claire.

"Captain Claire!" Rean said
"The railway Military Police…" A solider said.
"I'm relieved that none of you seem to be seriously injured. Please leave this to us and evacuate the building at once."
"Eh?" I title my head.
"What do you mean?" Rean asked.
"This factory contains classified military information and materials. Only authorized personnel are permitted to enter. No exceptions – not even for the daughter of the Reinford Family." Claire answered
"Well..." Alisa trailed off.
"I guess that's true… Guess we should head out now." I sighed.
"We'll leave things here to the Railway Military Police, then." Rean nodded
After the railway military police was on the scene, the situation a the factory was under control in no time. They swept through, clearing out the remaining archaisms and extinguishing the fires, bringing an end to the incident. But still... what's an Archaism doing here? Something doesn't sit right with me.

"… It looks like Everything should be all right now. But first. Levi, what was that?" Rean and everyone look at me.
"Whoa, why are you all looking at me like that?" I exclaimed
"You know what we're talking about! That technique you use on that Archaism!" Machias exclaimed
"Ooooh. So that's why is about. That was my S-Craft." I chuckled.
"You're S-Craft?! No wonder it look so strong!" Alisa exclaimed. "But that one was completely different from the on you use back in Saint- Arkh!"
"Hehe. Oh. Now that I think about it. It's my first time even showing and using that S-craft."
"Damn, you're like an Air-head all of the sudden." Crow sighed
"Hey!"
"I'm glad to see you're all okay."
Then Claire shows up.
"Captain Claire" Rean said.
"Thanks for your help, Captain." I replied
"Hehe, Likewise. Thanks to your quick thinking, none of the personnel were critically injured." Claire said
As Claire also scolded us. Wait... something caught my attention.
"I realized that, but I'm afraid I can't turn a blind eye to it. Especially not when lives are on the line." Rean said
"What? " Claire asked
"If we have the power to save someone and we don't use it to do that, what kind of would that make us? That's why, even if you reprimand me, I won't regret us doing what we did."
And there he does with his speeches and somehow woo everyone, even me.
"Heh. Very well, then." Claire close eye smile. "Fortunately, no one was gravely injured, so I'm willing to overlook your rashness this time. But I'd suggest exercising a little more caution in the future. Do I make myself clear?" Claire smiled
"Y-Yes ma-am!" Rean nodded
"Wooo, look at you getting' all tongue-tied, loverboy." Crow smirked
"Rean you sly fox." I smirked But then I realized what I was thinking. "Wait, wait, wait. Hold on!"
"Is something wrong Levi?" Claire asked
"Yes. Captain Claire. Something has been bothering me for a while. What was that Archaism doing in the factory in the first place? What's this factory all about? And where is the provincial army?" I asked
Then everyone notices, even Claire. She thinks and then
"Damnit. I can't believe I forgot about them…" Claire muttered
"Captain Claire!" A solider intervened as two RMP soldiers turned up. "We've got trouble at the mine!"
"It's been hit by the terrorists!" The second one added.
"Wait, what?!" I blinked.
"We also report that the provincial army are there, but they're refusing to let anyone in or out!"
Are they that stupid?! No... they are in league with the Terrorists after all!
"I feared as much..." Claire muttered. "All units, withdraw. We're heading to the Sachsen Iron Mine! Send a message to HQ! I need twelve companies from the surrounding area near the factory inside of two hours!"
"Yes, ma'am!" They saluted before rushing away.
Claire then rushed off. We begin to make our way to the mines as well We pass through the Sachsen Mountain and made our way to the mines. If the terrorist were to blow up the mines. It would shake the very foundation of the Empire. We arrived but we see smoke and fire. Not only that. The provincial Army is here blocking the entrance. They're too prepared. Fie pointed out they're using smoke grenades. This clearly has something to do with the 1st Factory. We headed back to Roer.

"Well, to start with, we need to work out exactly what's going on here." Rean said.
"Yeah, I been doing a lot of thinking for awhile." I said.
"Let's hear it."
"It confirms to me that the Noble Faction and the ILF working together. The Provincial Army is too prepared. And I believe that Archiasm back in the factory was just a distraction. And it's highly likely their aim is to eliminate the evidence of whatever they've been hiding in the 1st Factory." I replied.
"I think you might be right. The iron mine is owned by His Majesty the Emperor itself."
"That's right." Alisa nodded. "The province of Nortia is tasked with managing it, while Reinford mines, refines, and processes the iron. And Iron is the single most vital natural resource to this nation's continued survival. If this isn't resolved quickly, it's going to deal a heavy blow to the entire country, including the nobles themselves though."
"So I guess the question is just whether the Noble Faction and the terrorists realized that or not." Crow replied. "Sounds to me like they're a pretty divided bunch as it is."
"Yep. The terrorists seem like they're basically all commoners, too." Fie nodded. "They're only cooperating because they both see the chancellor as a common enemy."
"Yeah. But if you ask me. I say they're aware of this. And the Noble Faction is just using this as a ruse or a sacrifice to eliminate the chancellor. Still... there is something that does feel off."
"What do you mean?" Rean asked
"How do the terrorists know that the RMP is on a full-scale investigation on the 1st Factory? And why attack now of all times. This can't be a coincidence. We just recently learned that the RMP is doing the investigation while the provincial army is preventing that from happening. I think that Imperial Liberation Front must have an Informant. Or they been told by the Noble Faction and came up with this plan. Either way. The provincial army is too prepared and the timing is too suspscious."
"Now that you mention it. The timing does feel off." Alisa replied.
"Still... I might be thinking too much. But I just want to say something that is in my mind now." I sighed
"Sounds like you're planning to start the party without me." A voice intervened.
We turned to see Angelica and George turn up on a motorcycle.
"Angelica!" Alisa was surprised.
"You came too, George?" Rean asked.
"Yo! Figured you''d show up eventually." Crow said.
"Well, we had to test the sidecar obviously." Angelica replied.
"This bike is just full of surprises. We made the trip to Roer in seven hours." George added. "So speed-wise, we're just looking great. Comfort, though...we're gonna have to tweak a few things."
"I swear, you two never change." Crow sighed. "Kinda figured Towa wouldn't be able to make it, too."
"Yeah. She's working on gathering a boatload of information, though." Angelica replied. "She said she'd be in touch if she finds anything out."
"So what brings you to Roer?" I asked. "Could it be to do with something that we're planning to look into?"
"Does this have something to do with those family affairs you told me you were worried about?" Rean added.
"Yeah, it does." Angelica answered. "I had some nagging suspicions about it. Unfortunately, my hunch turned out to be right on the money."
Something clicked in Alisa's head. "Hold on! Isn't the direction of the 1st Factory-"
"My dear uncle Heidel Rogner, yeah. Seems like it might do us both some good to swap info. How about it?"
"Let's find a better place to talk." George advised

We went to the diner near the city exit and we agreed to swap all the information we had gotten. Now we have a better understanding of the situation. Selling iron on the black market was the big thing that caught my attention. Where did the iron ore go? The only answer to that is the 1st Factory. And with that. And Angelica wants to join us. The miners who were just doing their jobs got drag into this. And she knows the mines as well since she did take a part-time job here. Now we wondered how we were gonna get in the mine so I chose to ask about that.
"Since it's obvious now that what we are going to do. There is one question I need to ask." I said. "How will we be able to get in? We can't use the front door. We have to use another way."
"Leave finding our way in to me." Alisa answered. "If anyone's good at cutting red tape, it's my mother. Maybe she could help us out."
"She could...but WOULD she?" Machias asked.
"Yeah, I find that a bit of wishful thinking." I added. "She doesn't pay much attention to us after all."
"Well, it wouldn't hurt to try at least." Rean said. "We just need to convince her as best we can."
"All right, I'll leave securing an alternate route to you, then." Angelica replied. "For now, I'm going to see if I can find out anything else about my family's or the provincial army's involvement here. George, give Towa a call and see if you can find out what the Imperial government is doing about all of this."
George nodded. "Got'cha. I'll see if I can turn up any machinery that might be useful too."
"Haha. This is starting to feel like last year's field studies all over again." Crow said.

We left the diner whilst George and Angelica rode off with the bike and we traveled to the HQ building, taking the elevator to the 23rd floor and entered the office to see Alisa's mother at her desk. We walked in with Sharon accompanying us.

"Mother, we need to see you." Alisa said.
"Please, excuse us." Rean added.
She looked at us. "I apologize for canceling our dinner plans last night. But it's looking unlikely I'll be able to join you tonight either."
"It's fine, we already know the reasons why." I replied.
"It's hardly surprising, given the current circumstances." Machias added.
We then explained to her what we had heard, although she stopped us in our tracks when she had a question that struck us closer to home instantly. Action with a purpose...and what is our purpose?
"If you get what I'm saying, I suggest you leave. I expect the explosion at the military factory is the extent of the damage the terrorists will cause here. I'll give you several additional tasks. I suggest you work on those for the remainder for the day." She said. "And considering the situation here, I think it'd be best if you leave Roer tomorrow morning. You have my permission as a sitting director on the academy's board."
Honestly. I want to say 'denied'. However, I don't have anything to say at the moment. And I want to stop the terrorist as well. But I can't think what to say that can-
"Yeah, I don't think so." Alisa said as she interrupted my thoughts as we all turn to her. "I'm not going to keep making the same mistakes anymore."
"Oh?"

"All my life, I've turned a blind eye to what was going on right in front of me. I did it when you drove Grandfather out and took his position as chairman, and I did it when father died and you let work become your life." Alisa said as she cleared her throat. "All along, you've been working to build the company bigger and bigger and all along, I just looked the other way. But in our field studies here at Thors, I've seen the imbalances and injustices of the world crop up over and over again. But even with that, I...all of us, really...have to face that head-on. And that's exactly what we've been doing. You asked what our purpose is. After six months at the academy, that's my answer."
"Well said..." Rean said.
"Agreed." Fie nodded.
"That's why this time, I don't plan on backing down. You need to hear the truth, and I need to be the one to tell you." Alisa continued. "As your daughter, as your family and above all, as someone who's watched the Reinford Company grow ever since I was a little girl. Mother, you're running this company the wrong way!"
Irina looked at her. "Can I assume you, in your infinite wisdom, are planning to tell me the correct way to run my company?"
"Naturally. But I still need more experience before I can do that. I promise you though, that by the time I graduate from the academy, I'll show you how this company should be run. As someone who just might succeed you as the chairman someday. I should be able to do that at least that much."
Chairman Irina close her eyes and hummed. "It's one thing to make a promise; it's quite another to live up to it. Still, at least you're starting to see the bigger picture." Then Irina turn to Sharon. "Give it to her, Sharon."
"Certainly." Sharon smiled as she walk over to Alisa. "Here, my lady." Sharon then hand over a silver card
"What's this? Some kind of card key?" Alisa asked.
"Correct. It opens the door to a passage that connects Roer City to the iron mine."
"There's really a secret passage?" Rean asked.
"The former chairman built it for use in case of an emergency. You'll find the entrance in the underground part of a maintenance room on the upper level of the city."
'Former chairman... Alisa's grandfather.' I thought.
"I'm not going to say thanks." Alisa said. "Right now, I just believe this is the best way to press forward and I'm going to tell you why through actions, not words!"
"Excuse us, madam chairman." Rean added. "We've learned a lot during our field studies and we'll put it all to use to come out on top."
"That's right, so just believe in us and we'll bring the ILF to justice!" I declared.
And with that, we nodded and left the HQ building before Rean contacted Angelica and George to meet with us at the maintenance room. We found the door we needed and now we just had to wait.

Angelica and George arrived and we unlocked the door before going inside. We rushed down the stairs and found an elevator, we rode the elevator that took us a long way down and when it stopped, we saw a long underground tunnel.
"Who would've thought there'd be an underground passage going all the way from Roer to the mine? Gwyn really does think of everything." Angelica said.
"Oh, you know Alisa's grandfather?" Rean asked.
"I've heard you two got along famously back when he was still living in Roer." Alisa said.
"He taught me all kinds of great stuff." Angelica answered. "How to pick up girls, the best spots in the entertainment district, errr. You know. The really important things in life."
"Really? Wonder if I should take lessons from Gwyn about life." I said.
"No!" Alisa said. "We like you for who you are, Levi."
"So you all like me, right now?"
"Yes!" Everyone said.
"Aww. I love you all too." I smiled
"Anyway. I can only hope to sit and learn at the feet of the master one day." Crow grin
"Still, it's probably thanks to him that Angie didn't go any further off the rails than she did." George said.
Angelica laughed. "Can't deny that. So, you think this is going to work."
George then took a chair and placed a small satellite case next to him whilst trying on one of those portable computers. Seems like we'll be able to have some sort of communication down here. And Angelica join our group and we made our way down the very long corridor that seemed to take forever until we saw a ladder at the end.
"Hmm. Is this the end of the passage?" Alisa asked
"It must be. I don't see anywhere else to go but up." Machias answered
Rean nodded. "Well, we've walked far enough, and it seem like we've been walking in the right direction at least."
"And above us is those terrorist scums." I said. "As a gentleman in training, I shall head up first!" I grabbed the bars and climbed up.
"Oh yeah, you go Levi. Be the gentleman then Crow" Angelica praised me.
"What's that supposed to mean?!" Crow pouted as I chuckled.

Everyone else then got to climbing behind me. I heard Angelica force Crow to go second and the boys go next after him while the girls are next. While Angelica is last. I got to the top and waited for everyone else. Rean then lead the way and we went up the stairs before opening the door at the end. I should have those provincial army soldiers be sentenced to death since they're in league with those terrorist scums. I'll leave that to Luka and Hamsuske once things are safe for us to leave. And be damn to Gehanna too. We went through a small room and then entered the cave that looked just like the one we were in yesterday. We rushed upwards to the exit and saw the roadway entrance now blocked off, we turned the opposite way and fought past several monsters until we reached a room where there was a group of hostages trapped.
It was the group of miners and we set them free. Crow insisted on escorting them back to the hidden passageway so we left him to do that whilst we carried on through the mines. When we entered a large mining area and made our way up a few ladders, we suddenly heard a faint explosion.
"What was that?" Rean asked
"I heard a rumbling. Was there a cave-in somewhere?" Fie asked
"Judging from the sound. I say it somewhere further off from where we are." I gussed
Then Rean received a call. And Rean told us that he got the miners out but the cave in caught Crow off guard and can't regroup us. Huh? How did that happen? That suspicious. And our chance our way back has been sealed off.
"Hold on. That's suspicious." I said
"What is?" Machias asked
"The Cave-in." I answered. "It happen after Crow escorted the miners and our exit is sealed off. HOW exactly did that happen?"
Thr group look surprised.
"Well, Crow did say it caught him off guard." Rean replied.
"No. Something feels off. But I can worry about that later. Let's go." I said.
We carried on going upwards. I'm suspicious how that cave-in happened. As we ran further upward, we saw a large door at the very end.
"All right. On the other side of that door is the central control room." Angelica said. "There's where the other hostages are being held. With any luck, the terrorists won't see us coming."
"Then we have the chance to kick the terrorists from behind." I added.
Then Rean's ARCUS rings. He answered it and it was George who was put on speaker.
"Are you all okay!?" Towa's from the call asked
"Yeah. We're still alive and kicking." Angelica answered
"Angie... I'm so relieved you're safe. I've been worried sick about all of you! Especially when I heard Crow was caught up in that cave-in."
Yeah but i find that suspicious. And we received from new Info too. It seems the Emperor of Erebonia has official clearance to investigate the mines. This means the provincial army had no choice but to get out of their way. But I know they will still get in their way. If that goes happen. They'll be killed by my familiars. And the funny part is that Towa told us not to be reckness and especially told Rean and Angelica that. I was trying to hold in my laughter. Still. We rushed through the door, only to find that we had company and not good company.
"Heh! Who'da thought you kids would turn up again?" The bulky guy asked. "You just don't know when to quit!"

It was V and he had a group of terrorists with him.
"That rich coming from you terrorist scums." I glared. "You're V, right? Judging from your appearance. You seem to have known we would be arriving."
"Oh We weren't really counting on the provincial army's blockade to hold up. If the RMP manages to get through, we're ready to lay 'em out. In fact, I was countin' on it. But me and my crew'll be more than enough to busy you here."
"We'll see about that." Rean glared.
"Big talk coming from a muscle-bound moron. But that's all you terrorist so." I comment with a smirked. "I'm looking forward on making you eat your own words."
"Ah, the silver hair guy who managed to be the boss's equal. I'm actually looking forward to facing you."
"...now I remember." Fie said quietly. "Are you a survivor of the Arngarmr jaeger corps?"
V looked at her. "Heh. Surprised ya heard of it, Sylphid. It was long gone by the time you started makin' a name for yourself."
"I heard about it from the boss. He mentioned he'd faced you guys on the battlefield a few times. Said you were worthy opponents."
"Heh. I'm honored that the jaeger king himself would tip his hat to us. It's a little late, but you've got my condolences. He was one hell of a man."
"As lovely as this is. Let me test your brain, V." I sighed. "Surely you're smart enough to know that destroying the mine here would mean a critically damaging blow to the country's economy."
"Oh I know." V nodded. "But I'll do whatever it takes to slaughter the iron-blooded shitstain and let him twist in the wind!"
An aura appeared around him, this guy was totally not gonna be a pushover...fine by me.
"Alright. Another question. You ILF clearly have deep hatred for the chancellor. What did the chancellor to kindle that fire?" I asked
"Kid, I could give you my life story, but i doubt you'd understand even then." A terrorist said.
"You have no idea how many have been driven from their homes thanks to his 'reforms' How many folks have lost everything they had because of him!"
"Victims of the chancellor's expansionist policies, huh?" Angelica asked.
"Well, we ain't all pressed from a mold. We've got different reasons for bein' here." V replied "Gideon hated him for his ideology. And Scarlet, I heard she lost her old hometown when he went and built a railway through it."
"So that's it..." Alisa trailed off.

"Me? Let's just say I've got a misplaced grudge against the guy. Not that I've got any intention of repentin' for it now." V respond.

"Like Sylphid said, I ran with the corops called Arngarmr. Led it, actually. Just a medium-sized outfit-nothin' too grand. We took decent-sized jobs, did 'em well, and pulled in solid business. Whenever we had a bunch'a new folks join up, we'd take one easy job after another. I thought that was just gonna be another one of those laid-back missions. Back when Osborne got his seat as the chancellor, the Noble Faction hired us to give 'im a little scare. That was all. He was a commoner who came up through the military, chosen by the emperor. Guess they just wanted to show 'im who was boss. But he saw right through their plan. Can't really recall what happened a fight. Look more like a massacre. They didn't even give us a chance to surrender. Just gunned us all down in cold blood. Young boys who'd just been with us for a couple weeks, women... everyone. I was all that was left, surrounded on every side by my comrades' bodies. I was the only oneto come crawling back out of that hell."
Holy crap... Now I understand why it drove him this far. For him, the other terrorists that have a deep hatred for Osborne. I'll admit... I can understand. What length to go through.
"So that's what happened to Arngarmr." Fie trailed off

"Look. I can sympathize with what you went through... but that doesn't mean the chancellor was wrong in doing what he did."
"Yeah. In his defense. It was self-defense. No matter how you look at it. I can understand what drove you to do this." I sighed. "In your eyes, it is justice, and you are willing to go to any length to achieve that Justice. But in others' eyes. It's evil. And it's you who should be brought to justice. However, there is no true justice in the world. Your action is justified because that is what you believed in. However, there are things that your 'justice' crossed the line. Dragging innocent people into your vengeance, burning lands that had nothing to do with it. Kidnapping people who had nothing to do with it. Those are things I will not forgive you, terrorists. What happened to G. He got what he deserve. No matter how harsh and cruel for me to say. And that applies to you terrorist scum as well. For the other crimes, you have done. Your fate will be an example. That discourages others from following their lead. Today, we still stop you. Your actions will end here."

That bastard loves to fuel the flames of progress, but one way or another, we'ce all been burned. What's left for sad sacks like us? I'll tell ya what. We'll fan our own flames. Make 'em so bug and so wild, they'll burn up even blood and iron."
V drew out his minigun, it was time to bring this guy and his guards down. We started the battle and as it went on, I felt like I had released a new amount of life that would help me become more focused and strong.

"We'll see about that!" I exclaimed as I charged at the terrorists. "Vortex Plunger!" I pull the terrorist and burst into the air and then a plunger with elemental blades strike at the terrorist. That skill knocked the soldier down.
Rean and the others use that to join me to take down the terrorist goons as Fie and Angelica focus their efforts on V. I help out swirl my Glaive and slashing the terrorist goons and my attacks follow up by Machias. As the terrorist clash with my classmates and use their use his Gale Craft while Alisa buff us up. I begin to do the same. And then Machias launched a blast craft onto V and the other with him. Angelica buff up and then punches V in the face and then launch a brawl. I begin to use my Wave of Aquarius on the terrorist groups. Fie then use her S craft on them. And then V launched his strong Craft onto us and then push us back. I zoon use Piercing Toss at him as he dodges and he launch bullets at me and then I charge and then use Whirl Dance onto him and push him back. V power up and then Alisa use her upgraded S craft onto the Terrorist. Then Angelica join in and unleashed her s-craft onto V and the other terrorists. I got to admit. That's one hell of an S-craft. Now we focused on V and he was soaking in a massive amount of pain. But even he has his limits. When Machias got him unbalanced, that was my opening. I let out a fierce swirl slashes and onto V and then slash him to push him back and land each a powerful blow. V was now down and the battle was over. He was strong. But I am far stronger.

"Hah...whew! Now that's more like it." I sighed happily.
"I can't believe we got pushed back by a bunch of students."
"Bah...you kids hit harder than I expected." V replied. "Especially you, you've got a lot of guts to give me scars."
"That's because I've developed a strong bond with these friends of mine. They are the reason that my power is possible." I replied
"I see... your bonds with your pals reminded me of my late pals. But I also notice something during our fight. You were holding back much of your strength. Do you think I'm not worthy of your full strength? why don't I give you a sample of my true power?" V replied as he got up and unleash a black aura.
"Do not despair, Comrade V. This simply goes to show how much they've grown since our last meeting." A strange voice intervened. I saw the man in black and mask. "Comrade S had already boarded the airship. I shall buy you the time to join her."
V's aura went away. "Bah...fine. I'll chalk this one up as my loss. But next time...next time, we'll have some real fun."
V and the soldiers rushed away onto the ship, now we focused on C.
"We meet again, C." I said. "I take it you're becoming more cautious of me since last we met? And it seems you're also trying to hide your presence. Afraid that I notice who you are?"
"Amusing tongue you have. I can assure you it's nothing like that." C answered. "Still, I can't deny that you are a worthy adversary. Unlike your classmates."
"Choose your words more carefully." I said with a glare. "I won't allow you to insult them."
"Hehe. Touch a nerve, have I?"
"Who are you anyway?" Angelica asked. "All the other ringleaders show their face without a care in the world... but not you. Why is that"
"If I had to guess. I say it has something to you with your identity." I hummed. "Perhaps... an identity that would some people you're familiar with. And... your familiar presence to me."
"Oh I can assure you, this is our second meeting. And I'm afraid i'm the shy sort. Or are you so enamored of the mask that you intend to take it from me by force? It would be quite a coup, especially for the daughter of Marquis Rogner."
"Don't let your focus waver. If we want to walk away from this, we can't let up, even for a moment." Rean stated.
"Heh. I wasn't planning on letting up."
"Hmm, the odds do seem stacked against me. Espcually the silver one strength." C replied. "So I hope you'll permit me to even them ever so slightly."
A pair of archaisms appeared beside him and C drew out double saber.

The battle started and we focused on the archaisms since those would be a pain. We did whatever we could to eliminate them. Me, Rean, and Alisa buff the group as we charge for combat against those annoying archaisms. Fie use her bullet craft and Machias use his craft as C dodge as the Archaism launched a laser shot at us. As we dodge. I begin to use Wave of Neptune on the Archiams. And then Alisa and Rean launch their crafts onto them. We begin to clash and crash with the Archaisms and got them destroyed. Once they were gone, We made our move against C. We each taken turn clashing while Mchias, Fie and Alisa help from a distance as C repel their shots. Angelica launch some fist strikes onto C. While Rean slash his blade with C with Swift. Unlike what happen last time. Soon C launched his Crafts onto us. But Alisa counterattack it and then Rean follow up and then C slash onto us and then launch a strong Craft onto us too. Soon I join in the clash along with Rean and he's holding himself off well and then he push him back. And then C launch a powerful swing and push us back while our range supports launch their crafts onto him. Then Angelica launched her mighty fist and combat hand to hand and punch C hard to push him back. Then R begin to use his S craft onto him. Soon Machias, join in. And then I use my S craft onto him. Sirius Storm. C received heavy damage. But we continue to clash with him. Until Rean launch his flame dragon Craft onto him and then he and Alisa rush attack him. C was finally knocked down and it pushed my classmates to the limit.

"Heh...most impressive." He said.
"Just paying back what we owe from the Summer Festival." Fie remarked
"Now hurry up and released the Miners!" Alisa demand.
"The miners are being held in the area above us." C replied. "They've been bound, but their lives are in no danger."
"Now then. Since you lost. I'm afraid you won't be going anywhere." I glared.
"Haha. I'm afraid that's exactly what i'm thinking."
C then stood up and dropped his saber, the archaisms exploded and we had to cover our eyes. When the flash was gone, we could see that C disappeared. Then an airship rose up from below the hole. Suddenly, we saw both the RMP and the provincial army rush in and notice the airship flying away, the RMP soldiers fired at it but the provincial solders stopped them.
"My, my...what a spectacle." C spoke from the ship. "And the chancellor has sent his loyal lapdog to bark us up a tree, too. Go on and scurry back to your master, Icy Maiden. And tell him this...Our preparations are complete. Next time we strike, he shall be the one in the crosshairs." The ship flew up.. "Farewell, for now. You failed. But at least you can say you tried. And to you students... the next time our paths cross, you-"Suddenly I heard a gunshot went off and the airship took a critical hit before it fell all the way down the somewhat bottomless hole before crashing far away.
"What just happen? Did it self-destruct?!" Alisa asked
"No." I answered. "I've heard a gunfire just now. Someone must have shot their ship and cause it to explode. Judging from the distance. It was most likely somewhere from the right without being seen."
Despite that. I don't think they managed to survive that. But his last words are ominous.

The provincial army officer then noticed us and it seemed like we would be in a world of trouble, but Angelica stood up for us and then we were surprised to see Prince Olivert arrive. Looks like he saved our bacon once again. However, This proof their action that they are in league with them. I should tell Prince Oliver that. Maybe they will receive some very heavy punishment. Nah. They're going to be killed. Once they leave. Hamsuke and Luke will slaughter them. It was sunset by the time we got back to Roer and the situation at the mine was settled for good. Throughout it all, it was C's last words that still stuck in my mind. He's gone, but the rest of the ILF could carry out his plan and take down the chancellor.
I could tell that they were not gonna give up...this was far from over. What also concerns me is WHO fired that gun. I have a lot to think now. But also. I also need to talk to Crow about that cave in.
