They soon came upon Illumus, the shining light country.
"Okay...we're here...so what happens now?" Legolia asked.
"Just wait one more minute." Robin said as the clock turned five as the sun started to set. While half of the country stayed illuminated, the other half of it was covered in darkness as the Shroudians were starting to emerge.
"Light and Darkness, at the same time." Ace said.
"So this is it. The one time a day where Illumus and Shroud both exist at the same time. The Twilight Hour." Hope said. "It's like an entirely different country."
"Day and night only exist at the same time at least two times in a day...at dawn and at dusk." Ainz said. "The simplest solution to get both light and dark stones was to wait for this moment."
They soon landed before a gate that was both white and black with half of the light symbol on one side and half of the darkness on the other as a few citizens welcomed them.
"Greetings...welcome to Twilit, the Twilight Country." they greeted.
"Oh wow, they sounded so in sync!" Nesma said.
"We are beings of light and darkness...this is the only time of day when we are completely as one." they said. "Please...enter." they said as the gate opened.
They entered the gate to see a mixed room standing between light and darkness as two knights stood there, one on each side.
"So, you have come." The light knight said.
"Indeed. They have cleared the trials of our four comrades, and now we are all that's left." The dark knight said.
"But before we introduce ourselves and commence, we ask if you are willing to accept the burden of the Elemental Sword." The light knight said.
"For you would know that one day, Valizark will eventually return from the depths and spread his havoc once again." The dark knight said.
"We understand. And we know that taking him on with that sword is going to be a daunting task, if your constant battles with him are of any indication." Zacian said. "But if he does return, we will be ready for him, and end your tale the way it should have. You all have our solemn word."
"Very well." they both said as the two knights joined hands before merging into a single being. "Then let us begin."
"Whoa… They...They fused together into a singular being!" David said.
"We are beings of light and dark. During this time of day...we're at our strongest." the new knight said creating a sword of light and one of darkness. "Able to wield the twilight...both light and darkness."
"I can definitely feel their aura skyrocketing. It's pretty clear that this is the strongest knight of them all, quite possibly their leader." Sectonia said.
"Then this is gonna be one tough fight. But I can't help but feel excited." Hope said.
"Not sure I can handle him on my own." David said.
"Don't worry...you won't be." Daruk said, stepping up.
"Yes. You've got us to help you out in a pinch. Don't forget that." Sectonia said.
"Now...we begin!" the Twilit Knight said as they charged.
"Daruk's Protection." Daruk said, making a barrier as the knight clashed with it as David and Sectonia went and attacked as they jumped back. "You guys play offense...I do defense."
"Roger!" The two of them said. They coordinate their strikes at the fused knight, soon both of them reaching their second-state God Modes.
"Incredible...these three are in perfect sync and I can tell they don't spend much time with the large one." the knight said. "Their teamwork is incredible."
"I can see why you set your sights on them, Barbara. These two are quite the powerful couple." Nesma said.
"A lot of us saw it firsthand. Together, they're pretty much the strongest duo we've got. Well, one of our strongest, anyway." Crusadermon said.
"Ready, Sectonia?" David asked.
"Always ready and willing!" Sectonia said as they both charged in, their swords charging with elemental energy. They were dealing rapid slashes before they both slashed on opposite sides. They then stood next to each other as they raised their swords.
"Combination Art: Twin Celestial Beam!" the two of them said as a blast of light was unleashed from both of their blades, fusing together to become a more powerful blast.
"Hmm...well done." the knight said as the attack hit the knight dead on. "You people...have proven your worth." they said before dropping the light and dark stones. "The sword...is yours." they said before vanishing.
"Huh?" David said as they looked out. "Oh...twilight's almost over."
"This is quite the burden they were holding. I hope we see them again, living new lives." Zacian said.
Once the final two stones were collected, all six of them floated up before converging and forming a large sword.
"The Elemental Sword…" Cheetah said.
"Oh wow… It feels just as powerful as prescribed." David said. "This sword is definitely something no ordinary person can wield."
"By the way, Cheetah. I wanted to ask you something. The two of you have been researching this, right? So, why didn't you step up and let Sectonia partner up with him instead?" Rhatla asked.
"Well, yes. I could have. But given that the Twilight Knight was a fused being of two knights of light and darkness, I felt it was more suitable for him to partner up with someone on the same wavelength as well." Cheetah said.
"Ah, I see. Seeing how well they worked together for ourselves, it does make a lot more sense." Rhatla said.
"Here, Zacian. I think you should have this." David said.
"Me? You are certain?" Zacian asked.
"Yes. I know you prefer your Crowned Form during fights, but I have a feeling this sword can really help you out in a pinch." David said. "Besides, I already have three blades for just about any enemy. You will need this more than I will."
"I see. This blade in and of itself is a total mystery, but if the situation calls for it, I will use this to the best of my ability." Zacian said.
"Well...that's another dungeon down. Six left to clear." Theo said.
"Hmm...why not take a trip somewhere modern this time? Like either the Idol or Future Universes?" Ochako asked.
"Hmm… We haven't really gotten a good look at what the Idol Universe looks like." Kaede said.
"Sounds good. We should get going then." Theo said.
"Hey...uh...hope you don't mind but...you mind if we join in on this?" Daruk asked.
"It will be our pleasure, Daruk. It will be much like old times." Revali said.
"Alright, new members for this expedition alliance!" Ethox cheered. "Next stop, the Idol Universe!"
