"So, just a recap… What exactly are we going to expect from the Future Universe?" Rayleigh asked.
"Pretty much anything that's considered past our own age. Robots, AI, aliens, creatures mingling in ways we didn't think possible before… Lots of technological advances." David said.
"I'm interested to see what Canaan created in the Future Universe to be a dungeon." Hope said. "She's really outdid herself with all the ones so far."
"Well… Almost all of them." David said. "We only know that most of them were her."
"Plus, that last one was kind of more of a torturefest than anything." Mayumi said.
"Yeah...hopefully we'll have something more…" Hope said as they looked upon a stretch of city that seemed to be almost abandoned.
"Okay, I was not expecting this. I thought things would be more lively." Sectonia said.
"What happened?" X asked.
"Hmm...actually...doesn't look like that part of the city didn't even exist...until a couple of weeks ago." Jet said, looking through flight records.
"Oh, I see. They were expanding and people weren't coming in all that much. That makes a lot more sense." Mayumi said.
"Not in the way you're thinking, Kirishima." Cheetah said.
"No...it literally popped into existence a couple weeks ago. Like out of thin air." Jet said. "Least that's what everyone online is saying."
"Met. Met. Met." A voice said as a small robot with a construction helmet was walking around.
"Wait a second. I think I remember those things." Mayumi said.
"Those are Mettaurs, right?" Marino asked.
"Yeah. We met a few of them while we were helping X and the others against the Rebellion Army, and...eventually Redips." Fulgore said.
"Um, Fulgy, Marino was with us, remember?" Leviathan said.
"He knows, Leviathan. We didn't even meet her when we first saw them." Mayumi said.
"Oh, sorry." Leviathan sweatdropped.
"Well, what have we here?" A voice said. "The Legendary Maverick Hunters and the Hero Alliance." the voice continued as jumping down in front of them was a reploid with a kyubi shaped head and nine tails behind him.
"Hmm… Don't recall seeing this one before." Fulgore said. "Who are you? And what brings you here?"
"You may call me Ninetails, as for why I am here, I merely wish to challenge your strength." Ninetails said. "But not yet, as I am sure you all wish to learn more about this place. I shall await you all further in." he said before disappearing.
"Okay...weird robot." Jet said as they landed outside of the expanse. "He's probably some defective Maverick that needs blowing up. Thankfully we have three Maverick hunters. Though two are more well known."
"Right...if he is some Maverick, we have a responsibility to deal with them." Zero said.
They exited the expanse as they took a better look at some of the buildings and noticed something. They were mostly displays holding various creatures.
"No way...these are aliens and animals from all across the Future Universe." Jet said.
"Oh wow… Some of them look very exotic." David said. "So these creatures are what's going to be commonplace in a few decades' time, huh?"
"Oh yeah." Jet said. "There are at least 50 trillion lifeforms out there besides earthlings."
"That's a lot of species to keep track of. But knowing the Future Universe, they can manage that." Hope said.
"That is both offensive...and complimentary." Jet said.
"Still, just hearing about all of these species piques our interest." Alphamon said. "To think that there are so many lifeforms beyond our own worlds."
"Just means a lot more to look forward to as time marches on." Leopardmon said.
"That's the thing about the future. No one knows how it will truly be written. And thus, we have all of these sights to look into for possibilities." Craniamon said.
"Indeed. Even the tiniest thing we do could change the outcome of the future. Butterfly Effect in a way." Mari said.
"It's not just us, Mari." Teba said. "It's also the people whose lives we change as well."
"But you all make very good points. No one truly knows what the future holds in store." Revali said. "So...with this in mind...shall we take a look at the possibilities open to us?"
"We shall." Philia said.
The group continued onward, aiming to explore every inch of the ruins as Ninetails watched from a separate room.
"Enjoy viewing this place. When you're finished, I'll be waiting for you. I won't bother using my lesser forms to attack you. If you truly seek adventure, I shall await you further on." Ninetails said.
