Rocking The Beat of My Heart

Melody was walking through town, looking at something in her hand with a huge smile on her face and her heart beating as fast as a moving train, and her dark purple eyes glistening with light-up heart shapes. In her hand was a simple sheet of paper, but not just a regular sheet of paper; it was a note from Mojo, a fellow hairstylist she got acquainted with at the Hairball a while back, who had written to her, wanting to catch up with her and see how she's been.

Melody couldn't help but feel her heart skip a beat excitedly with each word she read, completely unaware of her surroundings as Trolls were either quickly stepping out of the way or accidentally getting bumped into. Melody didn't seem to notice anything that was going on around her at first, still feeling entranced by the letter, until she collided into someone and fell to the ground, still holding onto her paper.

She looked up and saw that she had accidentally bumped into Delta, who noticed the Pop/Rock Troll bumping into her and smiled, saying, "Whoa there, sugar, y'all maheet want ta watch your step next taame."

Melody sheepishly chuckled and said while standing up, "Sorry, Delta, I was just a bit...distracted," before noticing the matter again and feeling entranced by it.

Delta noticed the paper and asked, "Let me guess: that there's ayy lil' note from someone special"?

Melody nodded, saying, "Yeah. Man, does that Rock Troll have a way with words. Each line is like a music chord to the heart, and it's making my heart sing along."

Delta smiled and said, "Wow, sugar, ay nevuurr thought y'all would be so smitten faw ayy boy. Ya both close"?

Melody looked up from the letter and said, "Well, it's a little tricky to explain. We're close, but it's also hard to keep that close connection up since we live long distances away from each other, and while we write to each other often, I still have my worries often about being able to keep up with our long-distance relationship. I mean, he and I really like each other, though we both haven't admitted that out loud to each other...yet, though we dubbed ourselves as "more than friends." We're not boyfriend/girlfriend, like Laguna and McJagger, or Aggie and Trollex, but we're close, just haven't taken that step over the romance line yet. We haven't even gone on a date yet, so, so far, we're at a bit of a standstill."

Hearing that, Delta curiously raised an eyebrow and asked, "Y'all haven't been on ayy date? Didn't y'all have ayy picnic aw somethin' planned after the Hairball, aw did ay mishear what Holly told me"?

Melody answered, "We were supposed to go on a picnic the day after the Hairball, but a follicle emergency rose up back in Volcano Rock City, and he had to rush back quick. So, we have yet to have, you know, gone on a first date, and besides, I don't know if we would call it a "date" per say since we haven't really confirmed us being "together", you get what I mean"?

Delta then smirked, saying, "Come on Melody, even ay ken tell y'all seem ta have some very strong feelings faw this here fella. If ya really want ta, ask this guy out."

Melody suddenly became flustered, her cheeks beaming a bright red while she stammered, "What? M-M-Me?! A-Ask a guy out? I-I don't know, Delta. Besides, I-I'm sure he's much too busy at the moment to go out on a date with me. I know how important his job as a hairdresser is, and who am I to pry him away from his passion for a day, just to have a day to hang out with him"?

Seeing that she wasn't going to get any easy answers out of Melody, Delta began to plan something in her mind.

Later on, at the meeting house, she called Aggie, Poppy, Val, Barb, Holly, Essence, and Laguna to the tribal meeting house to talk to them, as Poppy asked, "So, Delta, what did you call us here for"?

Delta replied while saying, "Ladies, ay called ya here because ay just had ayy most curious interactshun with an infatuated Mixed Troll that we all know who's got her heart swooned by her long-distance boyfriend."

All of the girls, except Val and Barb, squealed excitedly, with Aggie saying, "Aww, my best friend's in love," while holly added, "How romantic"!

Val smirked and said while crossing her arms, "I'm not totally surprised. I mean, ever since the Hairball, I've seen Melly become smitten by this guy. Every time she reads a letter he sends her, she has this look on her face that's like if you gave a Cuddlepuppy a sugar cookie dog treat."

Barb added, "Plus, I've seen the guy react to the letters she sends him back at Volcano Rock City. She's the only Troll that's been able to get him to feel nervous, but the good kind, since he likes her too."

Delta then mentioned, "Now, the only thing is that she ayn' this Mojo fella are both still in the "mawe than friends" zone, but haven't dubbed actually being togethuurr. Plus, they've yet ta even go on ayy first date."

Everyone gasped in shock, with Poppy saying, "What?! they haven't even go on a date yet," with Laguna mentioning, "Well, Trolls who experience a taste of first love do tend to take things slowly before they try out different romantical aspects. I know it took me and McJagger some getting used to before we went on our first date."

Aggie then suddenly snapped her fingers, saying, "Well then, I say we help give her a push in the right direction and help Melody ask Mojo out on a date! She's always giving us romantic advice when we need it. i remember she helped me plan my date with Trollex yesterday."

Flashback to yesterday

Aggie was looking over a list she had as Melody approached her.

"Hey, Aggie! what's going on, and what's with the list," asked Melody, who looked at the list curiously.

"I want to take Trollex out on a surprise date tonight, but I don't know where to take him, and what activity we should do. I want it to be really special for him," answered Aggie, who looked at the list while blushing, daydreaming about her boyfriend.

"Well, I heard from Poppy that some rare critters called Confetti Popper-fishes are making an appearance in the ocean tonight and putting on a show by the creek. Why don't you and Trollex both go there and get a front-row view of the show underwater, just you and him? Then, afterwards, you can both take a nice calm swim in the ocean and weave through the colorful corals and catch them glow under the moonlight," offered Melody, who came up with an idea.

"That's a great idea, Mel! Thank you so much," replied, Aggie, who hugged her best friend before flying off excitedly to prepare for her date.

End of flashback

Aggie then said, "Trollex and I had such a blast together, we almost didn't want to leave or return home." Essence then added, "And last week, she helped me pick out a new ring for Quincy's birthday."

Flashback to last week

Essence was at a jewelry shop, with Prince D and Cooper accompanying her, while looking at some jewelry around them.

"Now, remember, boys: let's try to find something that Quincy would really like," commented Essence, who walked over to inspect a silver bracelet with red rubies on it.

"Got it, mom," answered Prince D, who saw some colorful bangles for sale.

"Hey, maybe he might like this," offered Cooper, who was wearing a shiny tiara on his head, making Essence and Prince D laugh.

"I don't think dad would wear that, Cooper, although it is very shiny," noted Prince D.

"Yeah, but it would make a hilarious statement, though," answered Cooper, who placed the tiara back on the podium.

At that moment, Melody had wandered into the shop and saw the Funk Queen looking at some rings.

"Hey, Essence. Ooh, those rings are pretty," stated Melody, who stood beside her while looking at the rings.

"Oh, hello there, Melody. Yeah, they are, and I'm considering maybe purchasing one for Quincy, but there's so many that look very beautiful, I don't know which one Quincy would like," stated essence, who picked up a few of the rings offered and looked at them.

"Well. if I were you, i would pick this one," Melody mentioned while picking up a gold ring with a red ruby heart, adding, "Because hearts symbolize love, and I think it'd be a beautiful way to show Quincy how much you love him."

Essence looked at the ring before smiling happily.

End of flashback

Everyone oohed and aahed, with Essence adding, "Q ended up loving that ring so much, he placed it on the minute he opened the box I wrapped it in. He said that it was a very heartfelt and romantic gesture."

Poppy added, "Awwww, that's so sweet," as Holly mentioned, "Hot dang, y'all; talk about ayy way ta shaane inta your loved one's heart."

Aggie then said, "Melody's always helping us out with our love lives, it's only fair that we should get to help her in return."

Delta then said, "There's just one catch though: lil' sugarcube's too gosh darn nervous ta ask him out."

Val broke into laughter, saying, "Man, I didn't think ANYTHING could make Melly too nervous, except needles, she's flat out terrified of them."

Barb then said, "If she won't ask him out, then maybe we need to make a move to get her to ask him out."

When Aggie asked, "What do you have in mind, Barb"?

Barb smirked and said, "We just need to send her boy toy a little "message," and pulled out a pen and paper, pushing it forward to everyone.

Laguna then asked, "Are you inquiring we write him a letter as Melody, to Mojo, asking him out on a date"?

Poppy then commented, "I don't know, Barb. As much as it would be very cute to send him a message for Melody, I feel like it would make it a lot fairer if SHE was the one to ask her out."

Suddenly, Aggie got an idea, saying, "I know! What if we instead send him a message to come to Trollstopia because Melody has something VERY IMPORTANT to ask him? Then, we can convince her to ask him out so that once he arrives, she can tell him in person, they get to go on a date, one, two, three, boom! Sparks fly from there"!

Everyone seemed to excitedly agree, with Holly shouting, "Woohoo, that's ayy perfect idea, y'all"!

Val then pulled out a sheet of paper, saying, "I'll write up the message and send it to him; why don't you guys find Melly and try to talk some sense into her about asking Mojo out"?

With that, everyone got up and ran out of the meeting house as Val started to write down the note to send out to Mojo.

Meanwhile, Melody was still rereading the letter Mojo sent her, her heart beating rapidly in excitement while a blush overcame her face. She didn't want to just allow her feelings to be out in the open, but she couldn't help it: her crush on Mojo was burning hotter than fire. While looking at the letter, she felt a song overcome her in her chest, making her start to sing and dance while strolling through town.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~First Love by Lost Kings ft Sabrina Carpenter~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Melody: I can't really tell why there's hills on my skin when you're whispering your dreams and ambitions.
I don't really know why my heart skips a beat when I think of you. Oh, it's almost.
Just like first love: it makes your head spin and your heart light up. Just like first love: you try to deny it, but you can't stay tough. When I'm with you, my head alerts me to know it's worth it all, worth it all. We'll never forget how it feels now.
Just like first love! Just like first love! When it's all done! Just like first love!
We're just riding waves of different shades of emotions. Fast and slow, hot and cold. We make one 'nother nervous and excited 'round each other, and we can't let go. Oh, it's almost.
Just like first love: it makes your head spin and your heart light up. Just like first love: you try to deny it, but you can't stay tough. When I'm with you, my head alerts me to know it's worth it all, worth it all. We'll never forget how it feels now.
Just like first love! Just like first love! When it's all done! Just like first love!
Just like first love (I wanna give it, I wanna give it, I wanna!)! Just like first love (I'm gonna get there, I'm gonna get there, I'm gonna!)! When it's all done (I wanna give it, I wanna give it, I wanna!)! Just like first love (I'm gonna give it, I'm gonna give it, I'm gonna!)!
I can't really tell why there's hills on my skin when I think of you. Oh, it's almost.
Just like first love: it makes your head spin and your heart light up. Just like first love: you try to deny it, but you can't stay tough. When I'm with you, my head alerts me to know it's worth it all, worth it all. We'll never forget how it feels now.
Just like first love (I wanna give it, I wanna give it, I wanna!)! Just like first love (I'm gonna get there, I'm gonna get there, I'm gonna!)! When it's all done (I wanna give it, I wanna give it, I wanna!)! Just like first love (I'm gonna give it, I'm gonna give it, I'm gonna!)!
Just like first love!
When Melody had concluded singing, she then saw that her friends were standing right in front of her and had seen her performance, making the Pop/Rock Troll jump back while shouting in fright, saying, "Guys! I-I didn't see you there. Uh, quick question: how much of my performance did you see exactly"?
Holly replied, "Long enough ta see some Troll's got love on the brain."
Melody blushed and sheepishly chuckled, saying, "Uh, maybe"?
Aggie then said, "Come on, Mel, we can easily read you like a book," while Laguna playfully added, "Which is coincidental since I'm an active reader of many books."
Melody then sighed in defeat, saying, "Ok, I admit it: I got love on the brain! That's got me feeling this way! I can't help it; Mojo's got me feeling smitten," as Melody's eyes glistened in heart shapes again while her cheeks blushed red and she let out a content sigh.
Aggie then said, "Well, if Mojo's got you feeling smitten, why not invite him to come visit you"?
Melody could feel her face become flustered while saying, "W-What?! I-I just can't simply ask him to come visit and pull him away from his work! I'm sure that he's much too busy at the moment to come and see me." Poppy then said, "Come on, Mel; I'm sure he'd love to come and see you"!
Melody was about to respond when she saw that a delivery bug fly by and drop off a letter into her hands, making Melody raise an eyebrow and comment, "Huh? I wonder who sent me this."
When Melody opened the envelope, she pulled out the letter inside and read it, before her eyes widened her eyes and gasped, while Val, who smirked, asked, "Who's it from, Melly"?
Melly could feel her cheeks heat up again as she responded, "It's from Mojo! He says he got my letter talking about me wanting to ask him something important and decided to take a day off to come and talk to me! But...but...I never sent him any message! I've been rereading the letter he sent me almost all morn-," before she suddenly put two and two together, looking at her friends, before asking while crossing her arms and raising an eyebrow at them, "Alright, what did you guys do? Fess up"!
Aggie sheepishly chuckled while shrugging her shoulders as she said, "Well, we might've sent your little "friend" a letter, asking him to come to Trollstopia, so then we could convince you to ask him out on a date."
Melody was shocked by the news, exclaiming, "What?! I-I, uh, what"?!
Delta placed a hand on Melody's shoulder, saying, "Sawry if what we did seems ayy bit extreme, sugar, but we're just tryin' ta help ya ba able ta take ayy step faward ayn' gain the courage ta ask this here Troll out."
Essence then said, "We can tell that you have strong feelings for Mojo, and it can be a nerve-wracking feeling when you want to ask someone out but are scared they might say no."
Melody then added, "It's not just that, I'm just, well, I don't know, I can't help but feel...a little awkward. Nothing against Mojo or anything, just...so far, we only see each other as "more than friends" but since we never really made anything official, going on a date with him would be like two Trolls hanging out, but the ideas of us dating would make things seem awkward between us. I really, really like him, but I'm just nervous that if I ask him out, and he says no, it's just gonna make things so awkward between us."
Aggie flew up to Melody and patted her on the back, saying, "Hey, Mel, it's ok; I know how you feel. You know, I was nervous about dating Trollex at first too for a lot of different reasons: I was scared that I might get hurt the same way my ex-boyfriend and ex-girlfriend, I was also nervous about dating someone who was not only royalty but a king nonetheless. But perhaps one of the biggest feelings was that because, when we first met, we grew to be really close friends, and while getting to know each other, as we got closer, I too felt nervous about making things awkward between Trollex and me if we decided to go out on a date. It took me a lot of courage to muster up the strength I needed to approach the Troll I love and ask him out, but you what? after I did, I felt so relieved, and in a way, I also felt excited because this was a brand new experience I would get to have with someone I love. A date is a lot more than just a hangout, it's a magical moment where you and the Troll you love get to connect on a wholesome level, and you get to analyze the feelings you both share, and find that star in the sky that lets you both see the light, the light of romance, and solidify it. It might not always go how you plan it to, but what matters on a date is that you and your partner get to share something heartfelt and true, no matter what it may be."
Melody commented, "Wow, you sure make it sound so beautiful, Aggie. I wish I could feel something like that if I go on a date with Mojo. Too bad I'm such a scaredy-Troll that's too nervous to even ask him. How am I even gonna talk about it with him when he comes here"?
Laguna answered, "Well, Melody, you don't need to worry, we can help you. You guys helped me be able to gain the confidence I needed to go talk to McJagger, so, consider this a way of returning the favor, with us helping you."
Poppy then added, "In the meantime, we should help you get ready so you could make a great impression on Mojo once he arrives," before she grabbed Melody by the wrist, along with Aggie grabbing her best friend's other wrist, and they dragged Melody over to Rock Hollow, with the rest of the girls following them as Melody shouted a bit in protest.
At Rock Hollow, Melody was sitting in a chair as she said, "I really don't know you guys. I mean, I don't even know how to ask a guy out, much less have any idea on what we would even do if he says yes."
Delta then said, "Calm down, sugar, don't worry. We got your back," while Holly added, "Yeah, Mel! Besaades, y'all already have an idea: that overdue picnic y'all were supposed ta go on befawe, that ken be the fun thing ya both ken do."
Val then said, "Now that that's taken care of, item 2: getting you confident enough to talk to Mojo and ask him out."
Poppy then addressed, "When asking a guy out on a date, keep it simple. It's just like if you were asking him any other question. So, to practice, Aggie will pretend to be Mojo, and you just act like you're gonna ask him naturally."
Melody gulped a bit while tugging the neck collar of her shirt as Aggie placed on a mask that looked like Mojo's face and head, and bowed at her, pretending to mimic a British accent as she said, "Good morrow, Melody. How are you on such a fine day"?
Melody whimpered a bit nervously, forcing a smile while mentioning, "Uh, g-good, Mojo. Everything's...uh, peachy"!
Val then stepped forward, saying, "No, no, no; Melly, you got to relax, it's not like you're going to testify in court."
Melody sighed, saying, "I know, but the mask Aggie has on is making me jittery, like he's really here."
Laguna stepped forward, saying, "Perhaps this piece of advice will help you: pretend you are talking to someone else, like a friend or a family member. Imagining that in your mind will allow you to feel more comfortable with asking important, personal questions such as asking him out on your first date."
Aggie added, "Also, even if you feel nervous, just take a deep breath in and out, and think calming thoughts to keep yourself relaxed."
Holly added, "Ooh, ay also got some good advice too; when askin' him out, don't worry about an'thin' else happenin' around ya that maheet distract ya. Just focus on addressin' the queshun towards him."
Melody nodded before she took a deep breath in and out, facing Aggie, who slipped the mask back on, as Melody then said, "Um, Mojo...would you...be willing to maybe...go out on a date with me"?
Realizing that she got to ask it confidently, she smiled happily, saying, "Hey, that was easier than I thought. Though I hope I don't break into a nervous freak-out when I ask it again in front of the real Mojo."
Aggie took the mask off while saying, "I'm sure you'll be fine, Mel, and if you need any help, we'll be right behind you in a bush to whisper the words to you."
Melody sighed in relief, saying, "Thanks, guys." Essence then came forward, saying, "Now, that leads us to the last time in helping you prepare for Mojo's arrival," while Holly exclaimed, "Makeovuurr"!
One by one, each girl pulled out a cosmetics-related, makeup-related, or hair product-related item, while Val pulled out a set of clothes behind her back that was on a gold hanger, which consisted of a red sparkly dress with a light pink cardigan over it.
Melody felt a bit unsure, saying, "Uh...a-are we really sure about this"? Poppy twirled the lipstick in her hand while saying, "Come on, Melody, you got to look your very best for you special Troll"!
Melody stepped back nervously, with her back against the wall, as the girls approached her.
Meanwhile, outside, a Rock-themed critter mobile rolled into town, screeching to a halt, as Barb noticed this and greeted the critter, petting it while saying, "Hi, buddy."
The critter smiled before it opened up, revealing Mojo, who came out of the mobile while saying, "Feels good to be back in the town again."
Barb approached the male stylist, saying, "Hey, Mojo! How's it hanging"?
Mojo bowed in front of Barb, saying, "Everything's all chipper, your majesty. I just came to see one of your fellow people that I received a note from. Do you know where Melodious might be"?
As on cue, he heard a shy, sweet voice say, "You rang, Mojo"? Mojo turned around and felt his cheeks flush red, blushing while looking at Melody (who not only was wearing the outfit that Val had, but she also had her hair let down, wearing a purple headband with a white skull on it), who was also blushing while waving at Mojo, holding a bouquet of roses in her hands.
Mojo had the biggest grin on his face as he approached her, saying, "Wow, half-pop, you look...stunning."
Melody shuffled her feet while answering, "Thank you. I, uh, just wanted to...look a little nice for your arrival."
Mojo then said, "Well, you look like a diamond in a sea of stars. Anyways, I have received your message, and came as fast as I could. While this topic is, as you dubbed, very important, I am curious as to what you want to talk to me about."
Melody could feel her nerves rising again, gulping nervously before she turned her head and saw Aggie and the rest of her friends hiding behind a bush, as the MMT gave her a thumbs up and a nod of reassurement, letting her know everything was ok.
Melody smiled, nodding back at her friends, before saying, "Actually, about that, Mojo...that wasn't me that sent you that letter, my friends, and my cousin did."
Mojo was a bit surprised to hear this, before laughing in amusement, saying, "Man, I should've seen that coming, but then again, at least it gave me an excuse to come see your smiling face again."
Melody and Mojo both blushed simultaneously, as Mojo asked, "So, how has it been with the styling business? Still keeping sharp wits on your skills"?
Melody nodded while twirling a lock of her hair and replied, "Yep, I'm learning so much from Maddy. How about you? Still as quick as ever"?
Mojo smiled before answering as he crossed his arms to look confident, "I don't know; why don't we have a rematch to find out"?
Both Trolls broke into laughter before Mojo added, "But in all seriousness, I still remember that day very well. You still always find a way to amaze me with your talent."
Melody twiddled her fingers while saying, "Awww, thanks."
Melody then gave Mojo the rose bouquet, adding, "Here. I know usually, it's the guys that give roses to the girls, but I figured that it'd be a nice gesture to give you a bouquet for once if that's ok with you."
Mojo felt very touched by the kind gesture, accepting the bouquet as he said, "They're glorious, Melodious. You know, I've never openly admitted this out loud, but, roses are actually my favorite kind of flower," and picked one rose from the bouquet, putting it on the collar of his jacket.
Melody was surprised but very happy to hear of this, as she said, "Wow, I didn't know, but you know, roses are nice and they smell sweet, but you're sweeter than the most precious roses."
Mojo then said, "Hey, if anything, to me, you're my most precious rose because, well, you're the sweetest Troll I've ever met."
Once more, both Trolls were blushing simultaneously, while Barb was watching in amusement, smiling proudly.
Meanwhile, in the bushes, all of the girls were squealing quietly in excitement, as Poppy said, "The way they're blushing together looks so adorable," while Aggie mentioned, "Plus, Melody seems to look less nervous than she did earlier."
Val was watching happily, adding, "Come on, Melody, you can do it! Just reel him in like a rock chord towards the speakers"!
Delta and Essence looked at Val in confusion, as the Rock ambassador replied, "What? It makes sense to me."
Back with the couple, Melody felt like the time was right to ask him, but her throat felt really dry, and her mind was racing as fast as her heart was beating, making it hard for her to stay calm. However, she inhaled slowly before exhaling, and slowly stated, "Um, say, Mojo, since you're here, there's...something I do want to ask you, if it's ok."
Mojo nodded, replying, "Sure Melodious, feel free to tell me anything."
Melody gulped nervously before she placed her hands behind her back and looked away, trying to mask how shy she felt about asking the question, "Well...do you remember how we were supposed to originally go on that little picnic after the Hairball"?
Mojo thought about it before nodding, saying, "Yeah, I do, and honestly, I am still so sorry I had to leave early before we could go on that picnic. I really wanted to have that moment with you, but you know the stylist's code," as both Trolls recited in unison, "Never leave a Troll's hair hanging in a hair-mergncy."
Melody then said, "Yeah, I know. We can never break that code, it's in our blood the minute we pick up the fated scissors of our career. Anyways, so yeah, I was thinking...if you're up for it, would you...want to...go on that...picnic with me"?
Mojo then remembered something, saying, "Hold on a minute, I need to go get something from my mobile," and ran to his critter mobile, while Melody and the girls, still hiding in the bush, watched curiously.
Mojo then came out, carrying a picnic basket while saying, "I've been waiting for you to ask me that. If anything, I actually had this all prepared just in case you asked about it. And to answer that question, yes, I'd love to."
Melody held in a really excited squeal, but her voice did squeak in excitement, to which Mojo thought it was cute, while in the bush, all of the girls were cheering in joy.
Mojo and Melody both turned their heads and saw the group celebrating in the bush, which prompted them to both blush and chuckle, before Melody then asked, "So...just, throwing it out there, given how we are "status wise" would this be like...a date"?
Mojo thought about it before replying, "I mean, in a way, I could see it as so, despite us still just "more than friends." It's definitely worth giving a try if you consent with this of course."
Melody nodded and answered, "Sure, if you're up for it, but if you don't want to call it a date, we could just think of it as a hangout. Two good "more than friends" friends just hanging out, having a fun picnic together."
Mojo chuckled, saying, "Yeah, just us two fellow Trolls and nothing else more."
Both Trolls both looked away shyly, blushing while feeling their hearts skip a beat in front of each other.
Mojo then offered his hand out to her, saying, "Shall we," before Melody giggled and said, "Yes, we shall," and placed her hand in his, the pair walking down towards the forest together.
Meanwhile, the girls were watching while Holly exclaimed, "So beautiful, y'all," while Laguna added, "Note: they're finally going on their first date! So exciting"!
Aggie sighed happily, saying, "Seeing this reminds me of my first date with Trollex, so cute and romantic," before suddenly, Aggie could feel a vision coming into her mind. The vision played out as Mojo kissed Melody on the cheek, making her blush and stand still in shock (the awe-shock kind) while Mojo blushed heavily. When the vision ended, Aggie smiled excitedly, saying, "Ladies, I just had a vision, and EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, I think Mojo and Melody are gonna get to submit their status as boyfriend and girlfriend"!
Meanwhile, in the forest, Mojo and Melody both walked down a forest trail to find the perfect picnic spot, as Mojo said, "I got to say, the nature around here is so much more peaceful than back home. At least here, you get to see these luscious plants and animals that don't try to wrestle each other 24/7."
Melody added, "I know, right? Although I do miss getting to watch the snakes mimic Rock screams."
They continued to walk until they found a flat field with a bunch of beautiful flowers together. Mojo and Melody both seemed happily satisfied with the picnic spot, pulling out the picnic blanket and laying it out so they could sit on it. Once it was laid out, Mojo placed two rocks on two separate corners of the blanket so that way, the wind couldn't blow it away.
They sat down and placed the basket directly in the middle of the blanket, while Mojo said, "Wow, this is a beautiful spot. Reminds me of the Lava Hot Spring field, but without the lava pits."
Melody then saw a butterfly fly past them, landing on top of Mojo's mohawk before it flew onto Melody's nose, making Mojo comment, "Looks like the butterfly likes you."
Melody commented, "I guess so," as the butterfly then flew away to a nearby flower.
Mojo then started to open the picnic basket and pulled out some of the packed food inside: Chili Rellenos, some small spicy pepper sandwiches, a liter of soda, and a pack of cupcake a la splodes. Melody was very impressed by the spread, asking, "Wow, you really had all of this prepped just in case I broguth up the topic of our missed picnic"?
Mojo shrugged and answered, "Eh, more or less, but on the plus side, doesn't it look good"?
Melody nodded, saying, "Yeah it does, who knew you could be quite the chef"? Mojo scratched the back of his head while saying, "Well, chum, to be honest, my father is the real chef who helped me prepare this. He always likes to say: good food is a ticket to a woman's heart. I mean, how do you think all of those female rockers have such awesome boyfriends? Because the guys are all good cooks. But, for me, I think that it's more than just food that swoons a woman."
Melody then said, "Well, so far, your wise words is making my heart feel like its gonna beat out of my chest, and this is such a kind gesture."
Mojo began to open the containers that the food was stored in before he pulled out two plastic cups as Melody opened the soda.
Then, when Mojo offered one cup, she poured the soda into it, before pouring it into the other cup, and closing the lid on the bottle. Mojo gave her one of the cups of soda to her, which Melody accepted while saying, "I propose a little toast: to us, for getting to share this moment with you."
Mojo nodded, saying, "To us," and together, they both clinked cups before taking a sip.
Then, they placed their cups down while Melody reached for the sandwich container and picked up one sandwich, and gave it to Mojo, before taking one for herself.
Both Trolls ate happily together, sharing small little gestures with each other during the meal. When Melody bit into her sandwich, she had a bit of sauce on her cheek, which Mojo noticed and kindly used his thumb to wipe it off, making Melody blush.
Then, on Mojo's end, Melody picked up a Chili Relleno and fed it to Mojo, who was blushing while accepting the hand-offered food to her.
Both Trolls also struck a conversation as they ate, talking a lot about other interests behind their careers as stylists, sharing funny jokes and stories. Their favorite moment during the picnic was when they both opened the container to eat the cupcake a la splodes and picked a cupcake to eat.
They both ate the cupcakes they picked in unison, but both Trolls forgot the one thing about cupcake a la splodes: they tended to explode when triggered.
As on cue, the fuse that each cupcake had was lit and shriveled until they were gone, making both cupcakes explode, covering them in frosting. The explosion definitely surprised them, but both Trolls couldn't help but laugh, thinking it was really funny.
Melody tried to brush the frosting off of her dress while Mojo did the same with his jacket, as he commented, "Bloody heck, I certainly did not see that coming," while Melody added, "True, but it did keep things interesting."
After they had both cleaned themselves up and finished their picnic, the pair of Trolls decided to take a little nature walk down by the river to commemorate the fun time together, as Mojo mentioned, "Melodious, I must say, this was very nice. Possibly one of the best picnics I've ever had."
Melody added, "Yeah, I had a lot of fun with you, Mojo. I'm really happy we got to have this day out together."
Both Trolls stood there together, holding hands before they saw what they were doing and blushed, looking away shyly, before Melody asked, "Um, say, Mojo...just asking...what do you think...of me"?
Mojo answered, "Well, I think you're a very beautiful Troll with a very special personality. With you, my world just seems...brighter. Thinking of you motivates me to style hair to the best of my ability because someday, I want to be the best stylist in the world, and I want to do it alongside you."
Melody then said, "Same here."
She then scratched the back of her head while saying, "Um, say...I know we're kind of at a standstill and are still "more than friends" but, I was wondering...what would you say if I told you...I liked you," and looked down while blushing.
Mojo chuckled and blushed while saying, "Aren't our feelings for each other already prominent, hence our "more than friends" status"?
Melody answered, "Yeah, but...I mean...what if I told you I liked you, as a "romantic" kind of way"?
Mojo saw this and smiled shyly, holding her hand, saying, "You mean, something like this," before he spun her into a tango pose and started to sing to her, before Melody slowly joined in as they danced in unison while singing in harmony.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~What If I Told You I Liked You by Johnny Orlando & Mackenzie Ziegler~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Mojo: Let's talk about all the things that we love to talk about. Those kinds of words that will change all the things we talk about. Tell me do you ever think of us? Should I ask some more or should I stop?

What if our tomorrow means that we are here together? What if we are taking chances just to lose it all? Am I really crazy thinking 'bout this all together? What if I've been missing the writing on the wall? What if I say?

Both: I know, you know! What if I told you I like you? We stay, we go! What if I told you I like you? I know, you know! What if I told you I like you? We stay, we go! What if I told you I like you?

What if I told you I like you? What if I told you I like you?

Melody: I hear everything they saying, they saying 'bout us. It's not about right or wrong, it's about what we love. Would it be simple or would it be too complicated? Should I keep going or maybe it's better to stop?

Both: What if I told you I like you?

Mojo: Yeah, ooh!

After they had concluded singing together, Melody and Mojo sat down together, their hands still interlocked with each others, as Melody said, "Wow, Mojo, your singing voice is so...cute."

Mojo replied, "Well, I don't bust it out often, but when I do, it's only because I feel strongly about something. Like...us, and our relationship."

Hearing that term "relationship" Melody gasped a bit before asking, "Wait, do you mean-," before Mojo interrupted by saying, "I mean, I might be jumping the Shark Critter here, but if you want, perhaps, our "more than friends" status could...evolve into dubbing ourselves as "Boyfriend and girlfriend," if this is something you want to do."

Melody then said, "I don't know, I don't think I'm ready for that title yet, despite our heartfelt connection. Nothing against you or anything Mojo, just...it's one thing to just admit we like each other, like just now, but it's another to be dating, which adds more pressure and stress I don't think we can handle yet. And don't forget, we're still teenagers; young teens to be exact, and I don't know if I'm mentally ready to have a romantic dating partner yet. Plus, I'm also feeling a bit unsure about it too. I mean, I want to, but if we choose to do this, it might be a challenge because we live so far away, and despite us keeping in touch with letters, I'm...I'm scared, we might lose our "connection" with each other. You know the struggle long-distance relationships have sometimes, and...I just don't want anything bad to happen to us that would make us...fall apart"

Mojo saw the nervous look in the Rock/Pop Troll's eyes and held her close, saying, "I know, Melodious, I share the same exact fears and doubts that you do. But, I believe in us; you know, when we first danced at the Hairball, and I met you, you made something in me stir. It was love, true love, a feeling I haven't felt before, until we laid eyes and, despite us being stylist rivals, we just...connect so easily."

The two Trolls looked at each other shyly, smiling, as Melody said, "That's true. We share a connection deeper than just a simple friendship, or rivalry."

Mojo then said, "Precisely. And even if we live miles apart, I wouldn't trade my love for you for all of the riches in the world. You're my shining diamond, and if you don't want to move towards that next step yet, we don't have to. To be honest, I think I'm ok with being just "more than friends" at the moment too, especially with someone as sweet as you," and then leaned forward and kissed Melody on the cheek, making Melody blush heavily while standing still, looking at Mojo in shock.

The male Rock Troll also blushed heavily, feeling nervous he may have acted on too quickly.

He started to say, "Oh, Melodious, I'm so sorry if I startled you. I-," before Melody interrupted him by placing a finger on his lips and smiled, saying, "Next time, warn me before you surprise me with a kiss because then, I would've done this," and kissed Mojo on the cheek as well, making him chuckle sheepishly while his face grew redder with a heavy blush.

Melody let out a cute giggle, covering her mouth, before the two shared a hug together, feeling the warm brace between them.

Mojo then said, "So, for now, we're still just "more than friends"? Not official yet, but still in the emergence zone?

Melody nodded, saying, "Yeah, but just know, when the perfect time comes in the future, I'd love to have the proud title of being your girlfriend. I don't know when that day will come, but I do know that when it does, we'll both be ready by then."

A little while later, back in Trollstopia, Melody and Mojo were walking back to the Critter Mobile, as Melody asked, "Must you head back so soon? The fun has been so much, well, fun, I almost don't want it to end."

Mojo then said, "Me either, but I do have a job to pertain to, and customers waiting for me. But perhaps we could arrange another meeting time soon"?

Melody nodded, saying, "Sure. I'll send you some dates in my next letter. I'm gonna miss you," and the two hugged once more, blushing before Mojo waved at her, saying, "Farewell, my beautiful Melody, till our paths cross again," and hopped onto his Critter mobile, which soon closed its door and rolled away back to Volcano Rock City.

Melody watched the Critter Mobile disappear down the path, sighing in contentment as she watched the Rock Troll her heart and soul crushed on head back home.

Melody then looked around before reaching into her pocket and pulling out the picture of her and Mojo they took before leaving the picnic spot, smiling at it.

Suddenly, she heard someone call to her, saying. "Hey, Mel, how did your date go"?

Melody turned around and saw Aggie approach her, as the Mixed Troll answered, "Hey, Aggs! Well, it's a long story actually. but the main takeaway is: Mojo and I both agreed to still remain "more than friends" as we're both not ready yet to go into the official standing of boyfriend and girlfriend just yet. It still needs time, but we did have a fun picnic."

Aggie then said, "Well, at least you both seemed to have had such a fun time together! You have to tell us everything! Let's meet up with the rest of our friends at the meeting house so you can tell them all about it"!

Melody giggled and said, walking beside her best friend, "Sure thing, Aggs. Though, if I do, you have to give me all the details on your next date with Trollex."

Aggie elbowed her best friend in the ribs gently while saying, "Ok, you got a deal," as the two walked towards the meeting house.
