Makima—Demon of the Uzumaki

No sailors were willing to travel towards the massive whirlpools. It was a deathtrap for vessels, those treacherous waters were quite harsh, and one tiny mistake could make your boat be consumed by the vortex, and then they would push you and the wrecked vessel towards the bottom and keep you there. Those whirlpools weren't normal, they said. It was the legend passed down from father to son. After the destruction of the Uzumaki clan, the whirlpools came back. Even though they were supposed to be deactivated since every single Uzumaki and every human soul on that land was supposed to be dead. And since the whirlpools were only activated or deactivated from the inside. The land has remained untouched for more than 30 years now.

No people to take them there. But they were ninjas of legendary status. Both Naruto and Jiraiya. They did not travel by boat. They could not find any. So instead, they went with a more straightforward solution. They were now just walking on water. By themselves, they traveled through waves and rode through the sea at extreme speeds only a Jonin could ever perceive. Naruto was considered someone of a high standing now. Just fourteen years of age and already the "owner" of two countries. Just fourteen years of age, and he already overtook a dictator who controlled a tailed beast. Naruto killed a Kage at fourteen years, and he had completed a legendary S-Rank mission. And Jiraiya was one of the legendary Sannin. He was the holder of the sage title and had survived through two great wars, despite being thrown into the middle of it. He also was a prominent fighter in the struggle in the Land of Rain.

And there was a quality to the both of them. Their chakra reserves were too big to be considered human. Even an intensive task like walking on a sea without end was an easy undertaking for them.

They ran on the water the whole way.

They slept on water.

They ate the fish that passed by.

They spent two days running and running towards the Land of Waves, The abandoned Land of Naruto's ancestors. A cold feeling passing both of them. They were about to uncover the missing history. Naruto felt this would be a life-changing moment for him. The land of the Uzumaki clan, their elusive line, was lost to history itself, allied to the Leaf, and one of them married into the family of the First Hokage. Cold, Naruto felt cold. It was an indescribable feeling. He was depressed, and he knew it, but this feeling was completely different. It felt like a sheet of ice was pressed against him, and the cold only worsened the further he traveled.

The land was closed off, and there were giant whirlpools that devoured ships that came close by. Everyone was afraid of them, and Naruto could tell why. They looked like gaping maws on a black sea with clouds covering the sun. They were incredibly loud, the water cascaded down, and it was like overseeing a massive hill going down and down and not stopping. Every single whirlpool was about a mile in diameter. And almost as deep. This was not the usual and naturally forming whirlpools. This was something different, a different class of disaster. Normal whirlpools were not as giant as to consume large vessels. However, this was not the case. Honestly, it was like Naruto was staring at the abyss because of how black the water was, even in the daytime.

"These are not natural. They were here because of the Uzumaki. They were created using seals. They have the seal formulae on the other side. I expect only one of their blood could unlock it." Jiraiya spoke.

Naruto was still dumbfounded by the gaping black maw in front of them. It was impossible to brute force thousands of men through these waters. "There is no way that the other countries could invade this land. Not with these defenses. Even if you have an aircraft, the strong wind produced will lacerate it. Even if you have a submarine, the whirlpool reaches deeper and almost touches the seafloor. This was an inside job, there is no doubt. Are you saying that an Uzumaki disabled the seal formula?"

"Perhaps, or perhaps someone with the blood of an Uzumaki. Whirlpool was not self-sufficient at the time, I believe. It still needed imports, so there must have been days where the seal would be disabled so vessels could go in and out. Maybe that's how the other nations got therein. I was young and was fully stationed on the border between Sand and Earth during the second great war. The details of this invasion have been lost completely. I have literally no clue as to what happened to the Uzumaki after that. Well, I at least know two of them. You and your mother."

"I see…" Naruto said that he was ready and waiting to hear about his father after a shortstop, and gathered his thoughts. Unfortunately, Jiraiya and Tsunade were stalling on revealing his mother's identity, which made Naruto internally mad at them.

"So we're now at an impasse. We can't even move forward. Even the greatest water user would have a hard time managing to calm these beasts."

Naruto breathed hard. Even Jiraiya was taken aback. They traveled the whole way without any sort of plan. They thought that just being a great ninja could magically make their entry into this place any more manageable. Perhaps Jiraiya was hoping for a descendant detection system that disabled the whirlpool once someone of blood came closer. However, the world wasn't simple and wasn't easy.

The world was a bleak place, filled with warm sunlight and faces of all kinds.

Any normal man would give up after this. Even if they jumped across the mile gap, the wind was so strong it could knock them back. However, Naruto was more than superhuman at this point. And if going up did not work. Then he would have to face the black sea. "I'll swim underneath the whirlpool. I'll stick to the seafloor and go from there."

Naruto expanded his lungs and took in as much air as possible. The pressure of the deep sea he could deal with. It was a force from all sides, distributed somewhat evenly. The problem was the whirlpool pushing his body off-center, even that could spell trouble and make him drown. His record for time underwater exceeded 17 hours. However, these whirlpools would make him sit in a place for days on end. If he could crown on the seafloor, he would avoid them. This was the most dangerous task he ever performed since he left the village for his training. Facing a civil war and facing off against a Tailed beast did not even come close to holding a candle to the dangers of nature. It was kind of sad that living things like humans and tailed beasts could not even hold a candle to the forces of nature itself.

Naruto pressed himself to the seafloor and crawled with his hands. And somewhere along the way, the pressure pushed him into the ground. And he had to hold his lungs as blood poured from his mouth. His fingers were bleeding. However, he looked forward. And he could only see the blackness of the sea. There were no living things, just ground sand. He pressed his fingers against the impossibly hard sand and crushed it, cracking the floor. Naruto crawled, hand to hand, finger to finger. He crawled under the sea for more than four straight hours. And finally, he was able to lift himself and his sore body to the shores of the Land of the Whirlpools. He spat blood on the beach. And coughed hard. This was possibly the most unpleasant experience to date, even trumping being pierced in the lungs by Sasuke. At least that suffering was fast and quick. This suffering, however, took hours, as he crawled in the darkness, with only his will to guide him forward.

Naruto squatted and put his hands on his face. An experience like that changes a person. It could not be overstated how bad this idea was. This memory would definitely stick with him, a year from now, a decade from now. He would definitely remember this. The beach was rocky, and the rocks were gray in color. A dark and bleak grey beach. With a lot of natural rock formations. Arches made out of stones and grey rubble. It was quite a beautiful place. But it was a lot bleaker than Naruto thought it would be, what he expected the land of his ancestors to be. This land was bordering on the countries of Frost and Lightning. He should have expected this type of landscape.

Naruto did not know that the land of his ancestors was quite a cold island.

After the beach was a dark green verdant and bleak forest. Mostly thick and medium-sized trees, the fauna was dense, and there were still sounds of nature. Thank goodness, I thought this place would be deserted by animals as well. This place was extraordinary, almost as if it was a land stopped in time. The whole civilization got destroyed. No man could ever enter this land anymore. Naruto really got an eerie, existential feeling from this place. It was not a good feeling at all. There were still paved roads of stone, now full of moss. It all leads up to a guard tower, very far away. But it was more like a fortress. A checkpoint here. And inside was the seal formation. Typically, these seals are easier to operate, just a bit of blood for biosecurity and then think of turning off. And after splashing some blood on the seal and seeing it change colors, Naruto was now sure it was disabled. However, something surprised him.

A timer? This seal formation have a timer?

There was a 12-hour timer on it. After that moment, the seal would activate, and the terrible whirlpools would come back. So this is why. After 30 years, no one was able to get close. It was disabled. The alliance attacked and wiped out the Uzumaki. But hours later, the impenetrable defense came back automatically, without any input. If this situation is the truth, then there is no hope for any Uzumaki survivors on this land after all of that.

Naruto was holding out on the hope that perhaps a few Uzumaki survived after that and still lived in this land. The whirlpool defense was not natural at all, so Naruto was hoping. Nevertheless, this seal formation gave evidence to the contrary. So advanced in the seal art they were that the automatic seal still worked to this day.

"Perhaps they'll still be working after I die. That's a sobering thought. Still, I was afraid that the seal would reject me since I'm not a full Uzumaki." Naruto had already reasoned with himself about his parents, he knew somewhat who his father was even without Jiraiya saying it, and the knowledge depressed Naruto even more. If Naruto was right about it, then his father was not an Uzumaki like his mother. Naruto was just waiting for Jiraiya to confirm it.

"Still, my 'homeland' has some shit weather." Naruto walked out of the tower and saw the black clouds surrounding the place, even though it was supposed to be morning.

But still, if the Uzumaki eradication was an inside job, then who was it? Naruto did not know of his ancestors, but if the perpetrators were still alive, then he would like to bash their heads in a little.

Stone buildings and wooden mansions were all abandoned. Only a few remains of his people are still left on the ground. On the way, they were slaughtered. Perhaps they weren't even dead Uzumaki clansmen and women. There were a few ancient headbands here and there from other villages. Naruto felt strange witnessing all of this. The clouds certainly had closed the sky, and it was gearing towards raining down hard. Maybe even a typhoon would be coming here. The Land of Whirlpools certainly had bad weather. Perhaps it was just the season.

Jiraiya had a bit of curiosity in his eyes as he ran on the water and arrived on the verdant island about to be hit by a strong typhoon. Naruto felt the same. This land was certainly magical. A special place in history for Naruto because of his family and Jiraiya, because of the stories told about this place.

"In all my years as a shinobi, I never had the chance to visit this place. Your mother told me the stories about her old homeland, but to experience it first hand is very intimidating and wonderful at the same time."

Jiraiya had dropped a bombshell in his speech.

"My mother?"

"Yes, her name was Uzumaki Kushina."

"I see…" Naruto had nothing else to say to that. He had literally no information on who the woman was.

Both teacher and student explored this place for the first time. The Uzumaki dynasty is long gone now. A piece of the past. Jiraiya explained the history while they walked around the place. Jiraiya's memory was very shoddy when it came to them. However, one memory stuck with him for the longest. A red-haired warrior that used seals in the air. Jiraiya did not remember his name, however. That warrior had one small sword that was deep wine and scaly. He was strong and destroyed battalions of soldiers. "However, that man's attitude wasn't the greatest, though."

"Hrm? How did he act?"

"That man was a bit creepy towards women. I don't remember how he acted, but I thought it was strange."

"Saying another man acted creepy towards women is the pot calling the kettle black," Naruto complained. The 'Pervy Sage' saying that another man was a creeper towards women was rich when the man himself peeped on women daily. But still, if that stuck out in Jiraiya's memory after all this time, then it must have been pretty serious.

"The other Uzumaki clan members I met were two women. When I was young, I met the wife of the first Hokage. Mito-sama was quite the stern woman. We, the Sannin, were somewhat close to her since Tsunade was her granddaughter. Even as old as she was, she still looked younger than old Sarutobi-sensei. The other one was your mother. She was quite the swordswoman and had these nasty chains. She had a strong heart, though she was somewhat violent and merciless even on the battlefield. After she got serious with your father, she mellowed a bit. Though it seems that both of them were sweethearts even in their genin days, they got in a serious relationship after they spent a few years as Jonin. Then again, that sort of ruthlessness was shared by your father. Though he was more utilitarian, she was more of a reactionary."

"…"

"That's my whole history with the Uzumaki clan, most of my knowledge with seals came from Mito-sama, she passed down drips of knowledge, and that's why the Sannin are quite adept users of seals, you've seen some of Orochimaru's bases, hell you already fought him too, he loves seals. As for Tsunade, she uses seals to boost her vitality and regeneration, that diamond on her forehead, remember?"

X—X

"I have had a dream since I was young. That one day, this world would be free of suffering and violence. However no matter how I struggled, no matter how I fought it, violence always came rearing its head back, starting the cycle of hatred again."

Jiraiya told him of his younger years while sitting on the Uzumaki porch. Naruto was sitting on the stone steps as the wind blew the dark foliage. Thunder blasted the skies. That once he was a young man who wanted to surpass his genius teammate Orochimaru and wanted the Third to acknowledge his strength. Jiraiya had once tried the summoning without a contract. That transported Jiraiya towards Mount Myoboku and was the first meeting with the toads and their culture.

As Jiraiya participated in the second war for over 20 whole years of his life he came to witness the cruelties of the conflict. Families destroyed. Women raped on the side of the road. Meat of dead humans left to rot by the dozens. Famine ravaged the population no matter where he looked. Groups of orphans fighting for survival and banding together to slaughter adults in search of food and a place to stay. Shinobi died by the thousands on the battlefield due to strong legends of that time. Lords prancing about with their egotistical view on life. Revolutionaries committing acts of terror.

Jiraiya came to understand what the cycle of hatred meant and what it could cause. And he wanted to fix it by any means possible. However, he struggled and found no headway into that dream of world peace.

He had trained strong disciples and had entrusted their dreams to them. However, all his disciples had died.

Jiraiya had pinned his hopes on the Fourth following his dreams and was sure the boy could achieve such a thing. The Fourth was extremely charismatic and powerful. He was a dream disciple, but even he had died.

"I want to pass that to you. My goal of world peace. If it's you, Uzumaki Naruto, I'm sure you can achieve it."

"You can't be serious right? I killed so many people already. I am the last person you want to entrust 'world peace' to. It's impossible for me."

Naruto had brutalized and murdered his enemies with wanton prejudice. He killed and destroyed anything and everything he touched. Naruto was angry inside. He had rage and frustration piling upon him. He disliked so many things about the world. He disliked many different people and he was deeply entrenched in a capitalistic system of oppression and economic growth to print more money. Even if he improved the lands he traveled and overtook and improved the standards of living and the infrastructure there was a limit to it. The economy was built upon the sacrifices and labor of the people themselves. Someday the people will realize they were being taken advantage of by the system created by the Zodiacs.

And Naruto was a murderous bastard who killed those who got in the way as the answer to every problem. Get rid of those causing trouble and the trouble disappears. This form of systematic oppression through sheer might was wrong by default. Being entrusted with the dream of world peace was insane. Naruto was the opposite, he was a murderer, he couldn't do it, it was impossible by default.

"Oh, is the mighty Uzumaki Naruto too afraid of the task? He thinks it's too hard for him." Jiraiya mocked him. He was goading him.

Naruto closed his eyes in frustration. "It's not that leaving a dream like world peace to a murderer is the height of hypocrisy. Can't you see?"

"Leaving that dream to a murderer huh? The Fourth killed more people than you and he still wished for peace. Leaving this dream to you makes it all worth it. A murderer seeking world peace makes it worth it, you'll face the greatest challenges and face the biggest obstacles. People will call you out on your hypocrisy. People will leave your side. People will be furious about you, but that's exactly why you must seek it."

"…"

"You'll work your entire life and you might still fail. This goal will challenge you like nothing else. You'll work hard until you die, and you might still not come close to achieving it. An impossible goal even with your power. You will bleed and you will cry. You will be betrayed and you will leave people behind. This goal will challenge you at every step."

"…"

"You don't want to do it because you're scared you're going to fail. I thought you wanted a difficult goal because everything's been so easy for you."

"Alright, you won this Jiraiya-sensei. I'll try a hand at your stupid goal of world peace. However the answer I might reach will be vastly different from your answer. Strangers cannot come to understand each other. They'll always fight, and conflicts will always arise. My version of 'world peace' will be vastly different from your version of 'world peace'."

Jiraiya looked at the skies as migratory birds found cover for the rain that was to come. The green grass was caressed by the winds. They were completely alone in this deserted and destroyed island. The island of the Uzumaki clan believed in the family concept more than anything else. However Naruto never had a family to speak of, he was already born differently from the values of his clan. He was abandoned by his own orphanage and lived alone since young. Naruto always sought recognition in his early years but after thinking things through, he abandoned that line of thinking. And now after building up his powers from the shadow clone technique and working for the Zodiacs, the boy had become quite the utilitarian person.

Naruto hid his frustrations, and he was quite angry inside. A person like that being entrusted with dreams of world peace was silly. But having easy goals was not fulfilling in the slightest. World peace was something that even with all his powers and plans would make him struggle.

X—X

"Your mother's name was Uzumaki Kushina, she was the previous holder of the Nine-Tails, your father's name was Namikaze Minato, he was the Fourth Hokage."

"Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage…?"

Naruto tasted the name. And repeated it several times under his breath, almost as if he wanted to call someone from the dead. However, people don't come back to life that easily, and even if Minato came back to life, then what would have Naruto said or done? Right now Naruto was liable to run a rasengan through his own father's gut. Or perhaps he could have given a hug, Naruto didn't know, he was completely and utterly lost as to what to do with this information.

"So, that man was my father… I had suspicions all along, but…"

"Naruto, my intentions were never to withhold this information from you, I'd rather tell you everything when we first met. However, I was under direct orders from Sarutobi-sensei not to speak about it. He reasoned that if this information was leaked out, then the other villages who still hold ill will, would come to kill you. Not only that, but many in the village stand to profit if they manipulate the son of a previous Kage, especially Minato, a man so strong he alone shook the third war itself."

"You could have spoken about it, in secret to me. Couldn't you?"

"Before, we didn't trust you'd keep a secret, now, you've matured way past my and Tsunade's expectations, you've ended a civil war by yourself, and completed an S-Rank Mission by yourself, a feat not even Tsunade or I could boast about. We could have released it sooner even, but we agreed that I should bring you here, so you can stew on this information. These are your origins, it only felt right. If you want someone to blame, blame me. I was the one who convinced Tsunade after all."

Naruto had no one to hit here, but Jiraiya. Jiraiya braced himself for another one of the strongest punches only second to Tsunade in strength, yet they never came for Jiraiya's face. Jiraiya was really ready to be punched, ready to be pummelled, however that never occurred.

However, a punching sound was definitely heard. Jiraiya opened his eyes, and saw steam and redness coming from Naruto's own face. His right cheek was bruising hard.

"There was no one else to punch, so I punched myself. Sorry, can you leave me alone? I need to think a bit."

Tears were rolling on Naruto's face, yet he still kept the utilitarian expression, only seen in the most hardened ANBU. Naruto lifted himself, not caring that the stream of tears continued, not caring that his bruise was bleeding hard, and that he almost dislocated his own jaw.

"…Yeah, that's exactly why I brought you here. You're probably stronger than I am, there are few things left to teach you, and yet the 3 year journey still is far from completed. Barely a year passed after all. So, I'll be leaving you here for now, Naruto. Meet me in Frost Country, two months from now. Alright?"

Naruto needed time to himself, time to think, time to reflect. Time to think about his own life and what he wanted to do with it. It was so weird… There was a time when things were so easier, he only needed to be dumb about things, and move forward. When did he become such a wimp?

Jiraiya really left, training wasn't only about getting stronger and stronger, it was about understanding the self. Jiraiya probably thought that Naruto had grown too strong too fast, without really taking time to think things through. Naruto had an inkling about his father's identity for a while now. But hearing it being confirmed, shocked him more than he'd like. Thankfully Jiraiya was gone, because Naruto was really angry today. Angry at everything in particular, the state of things, he was angry at himself, he was angry at his father, he was angry at the Third, he was angry about Jiraiya.

But most of all, he was really angry about the Nine-Tails.

Everything came back to the Nine-Tails at the end of the day.

To say that Naruto's relationship with the Nine-Tails was bad was an understatement.

X—X

"I always thought that my parents were not with me because they left me alone after the sealing. Either they left me and abandoned me, or they died that night and I was an orphan all along, they died indirectly through the attack of Nine-Tails. It seems that instead it was you who killed them, not indirectly, but you actually caused my parents death, the Fourth was there and sacrificed his life to seal you. Then, what happened to my mother. Jiraiya did not know what happened."

"Kushina, huh? I remember well the names of those two Uzumaki women."

"Two…?" Naruto asked, but the Nine-Tails completely disregarded the question, they were frowning at each other, both human and beast were almost growling, however, they were still able to maintain a semblance of a conversation. Mostly because the Nine-Tails was inherently talkative, and Naruto was looking for answers in this deep dark recess of his mind.

"They were a blight upon my existence, they kept me locked inside of them, with an even worse seal than this. They tortured me, under the guise they were teaching, or keeping the monster away. They pushed their self-centered ideals upon me, almost as if taking pity on me. Though if they wanted to actually take pity, they wouldn't have stuck metal spikes upon my body, and chained me to a lava planetoid. Yes, it was almost like lecturing a slave on human rights, when they themselves are the slavers."

"My mother wouldn't have done something so cruel. She didn't know the seal was causing your pain, that must be it."

"Brat, I have been with her since she was 8 years old. You have never met Kushina, you are only making assumptions on what she was because you want your own family to be the pure heroes you think they are. The Uzumaki are all the same. Spouting about family values, and murdering all others. At least I keep my moral values the same, Uzumaki's were vile."

"There's no way my family was like that, you're just embellishing the truth so you can manipulate me. "

"Believe what you will, I'm not going to lose any sleep if you believe my words or not. It will only make it sweeter when you realize what I was speaking was the truth all along. Naruto, while your mother was not the worst person I met. I hope you don't wrongly assume your little clan was the height of moral justice, are you?"

"What are you saying?"

"You're standing right at your ancestral land. Do you really think that the land of Earth, Lighting and Water were the villains of the story? You saw some things that Toad Master didn't see, right? You've wandered around, exploring the mansions left behind, and what did you see?"

"Stop it…"

"Little Naruto can't handle that his ancestors weren't the saints he wanted them to be, and now he's sad and angry. He comes here just so he can hate on the big evil fox, get real, brat. I killed your parents, true, but I was just looking for freedom. Once I was unleashed from that damn torture, I took my revenge, just like you always do when you see injustices being committed against others, and yourself. You always kill your enemies. I just did the same."

"A lifetime of torture? Controlled by a sharingan? Even if your actions that night could be blamed on some enigmatic sharingan wielder, there are some inconsistencies with your story. If you were able to break through that manipulation, why did you continue attacking the village like nothing? You could have run away, you knew they had competent sealmasters in Kushina, Minato, and Hiruzen on that night. You are smart, having lived for a millenia, don't tell me you didn't know the risks of staying? You could have just fled!"

"Because there were competent sealmasters, I was forced to continue, until I killed them. If I had left things alone, they would have come after me, endlessly. Until I was sealed off again in another brat. It was just better to kill all the threats against me, all at once at that night."

"And because of those selfish decisions of yours, more than 50,000 lives were lost. Most were children and old people. Bright Jonin in their thirties were all dead, crippling Konoha's defenses for the next generations. A lot of babies died in the hospitals by just breathing your poisonous chakra."

"Konoha got what was coming for them. They kept me in a torture chamber, for two generations of the Uzumakim that was over 100 years. All in the hopes of having me as a deterrent for war. That didn't go very well did it? Three wars happened anyway. Yet Konoha still kept me as their abused pet. Konoha's greed led to their downfall. All the lives lost, even those babies that died, were just added interest for my revenge on them. I don't care for their lives, if they died just because they disliked my smell, THEN THAT'S TOO BAD!"

"You piece of shit. YOU PIECE OF SHIT!"

"You are the piece of garbage here, brat. All you do is complain, all you do is moan. Get over yourself. I tried imparting some knowledge about how similar we both are. I thought you could somewhat empathize, and put yourself in my place for a moment. Keep believing that your family is the model of sainthood, while you ignore the many jail cells underneath the rich mansions of the Uzumaki. Ignore the chains to the wall, and the torture devices. Ignore it, and live in your perfect world, where everything goes your way, and you can just kill everyone in your way. But remember, once you remove this seal, I will be the one to end your life."

"Damn it, you don't get to talk like you're so superior, damn fox. Once the time comes, I'll make things even worse for you than my mother did. That's a promise!"

That conversation ended with Naruto being pushed to the real world. Nevertheless, about his feelings and initial consideration when prodding the fox for answers, he was completely denied. Naruto was unbearably angry. Nevertheless there was nothing here that could stave off the anger, no enemy to beat, no evil person to kill, he was alone on a dead island. His fist collided with the grassy plains, outside one of the Uzumaki mansions. The fist exploded the grass and the dirt. Naruto was so angry it was insane. He was holding back his anger to talk to the Nine-Tails but just the sight of the fox made him murderous. Even as utilitarian as he was at times, he was incredibly angry once that fox was mentioned. And then, that fox attacks his family verbally, as if he was the one who knew more about them, taunting Naruto with that knowledge.

No matter how many years passed, Naruto would never forgive the fox. This fox always managed to get under his skin. Orochimaru and Akatsuki be damned, if this fox wasn't worse than even them in making Naruto angry.

However, with all this information, he was about to crack. He started legitimately crying again. He understood why his father sealed the fox inside of him. It was so that no other child would have to suffer through this but his own. It would be incredibly hypocritical to use another child for the stealing, just to save his own. That was not how a leader should act. Naruto would have done the same in his father's position. However, given the choice, he would choose just to kill the fox instead of sealing it. Was the fox too damn powerful to face, and even his legendary father could only help but sela it? Or was there another reason for it?

Perhaps this was also a leader's decision. Knohoa could not afford to lose a powerful weapon like the Jinchurikii of the Nine-Tails, perhaps Naruto could look through this angle as well, Minato could not afford to lose the deterrent of war, even if that never worked. Konoha would be in a much weaker position.

That is the utilitarian approach, seal it inside of his own baby, and then be assured that Konoha wasn't about to lose their weapon. However, are things that simple? If the Fourth had the choice to kill the Nine-Tails, then the beast would just reform elsewhere once time passed. That's what the fox said, that the Three-Tails I killed would return in a few years at most. If the beasts reform, then it means other countries would rush to find the fox and seal into one of their own, destroying the so-called "balance" and creating another war because of it.

However, Naruto wasn't happy with his findings, he kept going on and on about the utilitarian approach to the situation 14 years ago, and kept coming to worse and worse conclusions about the state of the world.

All so they could keep maintaining this so-called peace, the people are too afraid of changing things, so they go the usual way. Not really looking underneath, and always doing things under the guise of maintaining the "balance" and maintaining the illusion of peace.

World Peace…huh?

Naruto thought about Jiraiya's goal, that was being entrusted to him to complete.

It was hypocritical to say that a person who has murdered countless people, and only found resolution in the death of everyone who got in the way to search for world peace as the final goal of his life. It was paradoxical for a "mercenary-for-hire" as what the ninja profession was, to search for such a goal. Naruto was a shinobi, and his missions involved death of those that were in the way, he was by no means a virtuous person that could be entrusted with such a goal. People would laugh at his face for even trying to act for peace.

However… that was certainly a difficult goal, and achieving it would make those that laughed at him cry tears of blood.

I'll do it then, world peace. However, Jiraiya, my answer to world peace might be extremely different to what you thought of. I'll do it, if I become the strongest, and the dictator of everything, then I can stop wars from happening all at once.

Naruto's answer was extremely simple: world domination.

If he, and his clones were to become the leaders of every nation, then there was no need to fight anymore, with his clones all being different people, that would make a lot more sense. With his clones disguised as the next leaders, then it could give the illusion the world wasn't controlled by one single person, but various benevolent leaders instead.

It was a "wonderful" resolution, and it would maintain the semblance that everything was fine, while a great boom of prosperity could be achieved. It would be globalization by force. Since all the leaders would be the same person, then the needs of the world would matter more than the greed of individual countries. It wasn't a perfect solution. But the idea that conflict would ever stop was silly to Naruto. Jiraiya's answer was bogus from the start, people would never come to an understanding. Everyone has problems with something, people would never stop complaining from the day they were born until the day they died.

I know this is an authoritarian solution, but I can't help but drool at the future, the innovations, and prosperity my idea would bring. I'll just need to find how to keep my clones alive after I die, or the key to immortality… but that comes way later on in my life, it doesn't matter now. The first step is replacing all the leaders with my clones. Do I just replace the current ones, or I get rid of them so the 'sons' might take their place?

It was a thought for later, but he didn't need to worry about that right now. There was no real need to replace the village Kages, just the Daimyo or the leaders of the nations instead. And bring glorious revolution upon the world.

Ahhh, this is going to be so difficult, but I was looking for a hard goal to keep me motivated, and I just found it. It's a devil's goal, one not too pretty or kind, but it will yield the most results in terms of prosperity when things are considered.

It was a way better choice than to seek out alliances with leaders that were swayed by their own greed and selfishness.

Dangerous goals, and dangerous thoughts, but to Naruto, this was the better solution in the long-run, until someone found a better form of government.

X—X

Naruto was quite interested in the architecture of the land. One would expect that after twenty years, there would be a more severe wear and tear about the old capital of the Uzuma

ki. There was vegetation growing inside of the houses, and wild dogs as well as wolves going about their hunts at night. Inside of the wooden mansions and stone walls, Naruto tore at the wallpaper or paint from one of the walls of a mansion, and the secret was revealed. There were seals underneath the paperwalls and paint or inside of the stones used for construction. There were seals to banish both insects and germs there. It could be understood how these buildings lasted for so long after being left to the elements. There were also protections against winds and rain. HOwever there was no protection against vegetation, or large animals. Which was why he could see a lot of grass and roots disrupting the otherwise ruined house. Honestly, it was so well conserved it seemed the attack only happened yesterday, that is to say it was almost as if this was the ruins of a war-torn land, without the obvious dirt, and a lot of vegetation.

Naruto hunted through the night, and found various packs of wild hogs running awry on the island. Hogs and pigs, there were wild dogs and a few wolves, there were cows and horses as well. An abandoned island, giant enough for these populations to thrive. Naruto went about hunting the hogs, they were in a better position relative to the cows and horses. And he was too attached to dogs to ever consider them as food.

The cries of the pig resounded in the night for just an instant, Naruto had pierced it in the brain with his finger. This was a Shinobi against a wild animal, it stood no chance. The wild hog was as tall as a house, so it would be quite the good meal for the week. Naruto took the carcass with him. However, on the way, a snake tried to bite his leg. However the poor thing had its fangs destroyed when it tried to pierce his skin.

"*Sigh* That was a mistake, little guy. I'm sorry."

Naruto picked the serpent by its mouth as it writhed. Another thing he'd cook tonight.

Naruto used techniques to drain the pig of it's blood and started cooking it. He threw a bit of snake meat to the blaze as well. A campfire sear made his stomach growl as he sniffed the good scent of the pig's belly being cooked. He had some salt on his bag since it was the preferred seasoning when there was nothing. And then the meat was done. Naruto ate the food while analyzing a forgotten scroll on the tower of the Uzumaki, where the Daimyo, or the Kage of this land stood. Naruto didn't know the infrastructure of this land. However, there was an interesting piece that drew his eyes intensely.

There was a summoning part here. To summon an entity of the Uzumaki, a spirit of control, the one who lorded over the blood of the Uzumaki. Seeing the seals designed to summon such a being, Naruto felt somewhat pale, they were too complicated. However, it explained the entity itself was tied to the Uzumaki Family, and it had the knowledge of the 800 years, once the Uzumaki Matriarch had separated from the Senju clan to form her own clan. This happened 200 years after the famed Sage of the Six Paths. That Matriarch had built up their clan and their rules. ANd had done the initial seals of this summoning, from thereon forward, every generation of the royal central family had given both their blood and knowledge to the seal. Which meant whomever this summoned would have all the knowledge of past Royal Uzumaki.

To summon it. There was a price to pay. The family, that was the price.

So this is it, I can summon someone that can answer my questions. Theoretically, this new entity will have all the powers and knowledge of past Uzumaki's, the contract is already mostly full. However, if I summon whatever it is, then I risk myself. It says here that the entity can control those of the Uzumaki to its will. However, I am a half-blood Uzumaki, so the entity's control might not work on me. So what do I do?

Should I summon it and risk my freedom?

Naruto gathered the bones of the Uzumaki, their skulls and anything of value. And put it next to the campfire in the middle of the stone road of the capital of the Uzumaki. It started drizzling. However, Naruto worked relentlessly. When dogs stole his pig's carcasses. Naruto did not care, there were thousands of hogs on this island, he could eat many more. Naruto just kept working.

Naruto still needed answers. And this "spirit of the Uzumaki" would give it to him. He was strong, strong enough to destroy Tailed beasts. While this all felt like a bad scam. The spirit would be equally tied to him, so it would be a mutually beneficial relationship. The spirit might even be grateful for leaving the forgotten scroll after 800 years of stasis. But sure enough, this matriarch was quite something, she created an empty vessel, bound it to the scroll of the Uzumaki, and then generations fed it their blood, power and knowledge. Naruto was about to do the same, however, this time, he would use the remains of his ancestors to summon it, instead of it staying in the scroll.

Naruto put his hand on the scroll's front, then as if a black hole appeared all around him, it swallowed the remains and treasures of his ancestors. And then Naruto cut his wrists and let the blood flow into the scroll. The aura all around him became golden with white spots as he fed it his potent chakra. The scroll started to singe in the extremities. As then Naruto transferred his knowledge. Then the black hole expanded upwards, with only a golden sun in the middle, signifying Naruto and his golden chakra.

Though it was dark, Naruto felt somewhat familiar. Then strangely, a chain, a golden chain of splendor pierced his heart, however, it did not feel like a death sentence, instead, it felt warm. Naruto channeled the chakra into the chain. Then from the dark void, a delicate and pretty hand gently placed itself on his own. There was no more scroll. And from his own heart, another golden chain pierced the naked woman's heart in front of him.

Naruto was faced with golden eyes, rings upon rings on the iris made the woman's eyes look crazed. However she had a soft smile. She had short red hair. And while Naruto was not trying to look, she had a massive ass and small boobs.

"*Giggle* I've waited for this for so long, my dear Uzumaki."

"Honestly, I felt like I wouldn't be able to summon you. Since I'm a half-blood"

"Every Uzumaki was a half-blood. They never married into the family. However their strong blood was disseminated to their descendants. Don't worry Naruto-san, the royal blood flows strong inside of you."

"Royal? I thought I was just from the extended family to be honest."

"Yes you were. However, just now you've absorbed 800 years of blood from the royal family."

"I hope I don't get a strange disease from that."

"*Giggle* Don't worry. Although their knowledge and power will stay with me."

The world returned to normal. The woman raised herself, and then her clothes were summoned from nothing. Black pants, white button shirt, and a black tie. This was the spirit of the Uzumaki, she was not really a human

"My name is Uzumaki Makima. The devil of control."

Oh, it was not a spirit, it was a devil, haha… this is going to be troublesome isn't it?

Makima immediately hugged him, not minding the thunder behind her. She hugged him like a koala holding a branch. All the while smiling and sniffing him as she embraced him. Naruto, for the first time in his life, felt like this was real affection from someone close. He had so much sexual intimacy, and had some people that cared about him. However, the women he was with only cared about sexual pleasure. No, this time, it was a full-on comforting cuddle. Something he didn't know he desperately needed.

Naruto entered a house that was in better conditions, and then laid down with Makima still attached to him. Almost like she adored him. Naruto felt an inexplicable link to her, almost as if he was with Makima since the start of his life, it was strange. Even though they just met, Naruto felt as though he should marry this woman here and now. That's how strongly he felt about her. Could it be that she had also felt the same, because she was kissing him in her sleep, kissing his shoulders and kissing his chest. Adoring him as she slept.

Naruto felt like all his worries were thrown out the window. Worries about his parents, worries about his past. For just this moment, Naruto felt safe to be vulnerable.

Naruto slept like never before, without worrying about sneak attacks, without even detecting and smelling a thing. He slept with a small smile.

A wild wolf approached. The beast was looking to prey upon the sleeping couple. Naruto did not pay attention because he left himself vulnerable. However, before the wolf could lunge, a golden chain impaled the beast. Dragging him across the island until the wolf's body fell into the ocean. a whole 57 kilometers, that body was pushed by the golden chain. And the originator of that chain was the skin of the girl summoned. Makima had looked at that wolf like it had just killed her entire family. All those who disturbed the peacefulness of this situation would die. Makima's violently wrathful face promised that.

Then she hugged Naruto even harder as she also slept within his arms. With chains of death protecting him.

On this day, another legend was birthed. That woman, that horrifying woman was born.

X—X

Naruto worked laboriously to grow stronger. And Makima felt like he was quite an amazing person for that. She oversaw him facing countless clones of himself, night after night. The clones were so strong, and almost invincible. Naruto had explained to her that they were immortal if he wanted them to be. He would just have to pump more chakra within their connection, and they could use that to regenerate themselves. Quite the powerful technique, and he had used it to conquer the forces of Water Country with them.

Makima arrived in the middle of a violent, destroyed battlefield. A battlefield enough to give the impression that a war had happened. A war of many years, and Naruto was in the middle. Tonight he had won against clones so powerful they were at his level. Almost like fighting an army of your own self. This level of perseverance was not something you could see every day. Naruto was so strong. Of course there were days he would lose to the clones. But today he won.

"Makima-san, can you talk about my family? Who were they, and why were they killed. I need to know."

"The forces of the Earth, Lightning and Water united to destroy this country. However, they weren't friends at all. SOme think they allied themselves against Konoha in the second war, however that wasn't true. It was a free-for-all."

"Then why? Were the Uzumaki so terrifying that they feared my clan's power?"

"Nothing like that. The Uzumaki were powerful, and they were allies of Konoha, but there was no reason to group up and go out of their way to attack an isolated island that no one cared for."

"So, my clan died for what? What did they do to deserve all this?"

"Naruto-san, you take too much stock in the past of your family. Your immediate family, of your father and mother, were fine people. However, you're pinning too much hope in your past. A past that you don't know."

"Then tell me. What did the Uzumaki do to deserve all this."

"I wouldn't say they deserved their fate... Reasons to destroy a whole nation... I honestly don't care about that. However, their justification was simple. It was all about revenge. Of course, the more baser reasons to kill are either anger and hatred, or a desire to protect something. Of course, there are people like me that can kill without a reason, but it is rare. In their case, it was revenge against the Uzumaki and their sins."

"Revenge?!"

"There is nothing here of worth. No natural resources other than wood. The seals are barely understood by other nations. If they wanted to get those seals, they wouldn't massacre your people. They just wanted to erase the Uzumaki from this earth, no matter what."

Makima sat on his abs and smiled as she traced his bruises, as they healed. It tickled a bit, and she loved getting closer to him. Then she approached his face with that delicious smile. And pulled his hair and kissed his nose and his cheek.

Then she said something that made his heart sink.

"Slavers, human traffickers. The Uzumaki had a culture of slaving those they defeated."

The jail cells underneath the expensive mansions, the tools, and chains, so many chains. That was why Makima's whole power was centered around control and chains. It was in the blood of the Uzumaki.

"Wives and children, kidnapped, brought here to become sex slaves. That's the history of your clan. To them, this was their culture. They won their battles, brought women and men, and had sex with them until they had children. No Uzumaki is a full-blooded Uzumaki, and you know why now."

The Uzumaki didn't marry each other. They rarely married at all, his mother and father and Mito-sama, were rare cases. The Uzumaki took slaves by force and forced them to have children. Their reasons were that other genes from all over the world would make their children even stronger, being mixed with the strong vitality from the Uzumaki.

"Uzumaki are not particularly fertile, however they had a lot of sex drive and vitality. So Uzumaki males would normally have dozens of slaves. Some women also took on this culture and would also have a reverse harem of male slaves. However, the women were more cruel, once they were pregnant, they would usually kill the slaves she had. Just like a female praying mantis."

Naruto was ready to vomit. His ancestors were like this?

I feel sick.

Naruto was big on personal freedom for others. While he was pragmatic, and not the most well-adjusted person, he still had his moral code.

"Even though they did this, the Uzumaki population was really small. Nevertheless, the Uzumaki would try to have children until they were 80 years old. Their vitality was so strong they were virile until that age. Nevertheless, there were no Uzumaki families with more than 2 children."

Naruto had so much unprotected sex in the past year that he woludn't be surprised if some children popped up from somewhere. However, this put a damper on things. Could he also be afflicted with this lack of fertility? He wanted a big family, but he could only have two?

If that's how it is, then I'm going to break this notion. I'll have a family so big that it won't be funny.

He was thinking of having 20 sons and daughters just to defy this fate.

Makima had the experiences of past leaders so she knew what she was talking about.

"You can see where I'm going with this right? Your mother left the country early, so Uzumaki Kushina did not participate in her country's culture. All she had was the knowledge of seals. Uzumaki were chaotic warriors, however they took delight in taking the freedom of others."

"So,that's why the other countries sought revenge. They hated the Uzumaki so much that they allied themselves for once single crusade, despite being enemies later on?"

"Enemies before, and enemies later. However, for the hated Uzuamki, they were willing to forgo their conflicts just so they could bring ruin to your old family. Of course, Konoha was blissfully unaware of the Uzumaki practices since they were their ally, and the Uzumaki cared for the Senju's homeland. But as you can see, this culture of theirs was more due to nurture than nature. You don't want to enslave women and have children with them, right?"

"Of course not, that thought makes me sick."

"So you see, this whole alliece to kill your family was well within reason. Resentment at having their wives and children taken, the hidden villages all mounted a fast attack once they had the opportunity. And then, they freed the slaves. It was a day of hope, they killed your clan, freed the slaves. And left so fast, almost as if abandoning a cursed land with their loved ones with them. It's your clan that was wrong, the ones that were in the right were the alliance. It was thirty years ago at this point. The Uzumaki remain largely forgotten by everyone. The few survivors were not hunted down and assimilated to some pockets of the world, and with time, that anger and hatred was forgotten. The evil clan had been defeated. The two wars killed those who participated in this hunt. The only one that remains is the Third Tsuchikage. Ōnoki, only him."

Naruto had tears come out of his eyes at Makima's words. He had summoned her to know about the Uzumaki, but the truth really hurt.

"The fantasy that your clan was full of saints, and the evil villages formed an attack on this island purely out of greed is something your mind created. You wanted a place to belong since your childhood was horrible. However, this place is in the past, a past that won't come back, nor is this past a pretty one. You pinned your hopes on your ancestors and got betrayed by reality."

Naruto was spread on the ground, he raised his arm and put his fingers on his nose, in frustration. His eyes started to sting after the silent tears started running.

"Don't you understand, Naruto? The place you belong isn't in the past. The place you belong, is where your loved ones are. For when you are with the one you love, that place is called home."

Makima held Naruto as he finally buried his hatchet, with the old clan of Uzumaki, this lonely island wasn't his home. Naruto hugged Makima's soft body, and thought to himself that this was his home. Wherever he went, Makima would now follow. Honestly, he had already decided that this would be the woman he'd marry. So she was home, huh?

Honestly, with Makima's questionable attitude...

Naruto smirked. What a terribly manipulative woman.

X—X

Today Naruto-san was working so hard while I watched him. Makima felt happy knowing he was learning the ways of the Uzumaki, basic sealing that was more for utility instead of hard seals, but Naruto was more of a fast fighter that had no need for overly complicated things that slowed him down. His whole fighting style was not giving his enemies a chance to react and form strategies against him.

He had an unbeatable strike with his golden rasengan. No barriers could stop that attack. Though things like chakra absorption was the weakness. Even then, the ball was so compressed it was liable to explode if a chakra stealer would make its attempt. It would have to be a strong chakra absorption to even work. Other counter attacks were to lock Naruto in place, or send the ball of destruction somewhere else.

However, this was where the malice of the new and improved rasengan was made known. Naruto could instantly make another ball of destruction, not only one, but countless of them. You'd have to react to every little thing, if the ball reached you, then it was game over.

Or rather, for people like Makima, it wasn't even a threat. As Narutlo understood as he fought her, his ball was sent somewhere, he prepared another, as countless punches tried to pin her in-place, and as he was hitting, his face fell on the ground as he was pulled behind by chains, the ball of destruction flatted the crust of the ground. As Makima's chains pushed him, and every time he'd break one of them, another would form.

"Now, Naruto, how will you escape?"

"Like this."

Another Naruto sneaked up behind her. With a golden rasengan ready, the real one?

Or just another clone.

Makima's chains surged from the floor, and pierced where he was, but he evaded and then thrust the rasengan forward. Makima was the culmination of all the seals made for the Uzumaki, her knowledge of seals let her make new ones that worked almost instantaneously in the field of combat.

So Makima met the ball of destruction with her hand, and a deep red circle met the golden rasengan, sending it right to the chained clone. Destroying the clone's guts.

"That's horrible but it won't work."

"I was banking on that being the real one." Makima said so roguishly.

As another clone joined the fight from out of nowhere, always keeping Makima on her toes due to how terrifying Naruto's taijutsu was. It was like she was fighting a thousand punches, and a thousand kicks, each capable of breaking a mountain in half. And every once in a while, that golden ball would show itself and make Makima fear for her life. Though, then again, that was the emotion she was showing to Naruto. In fact she was enjoying this bout of violence very much.

Though the island isn't faring better, this whole place was now crumbling, thankfully, this was far away from the crumbled village. This level of damage was not made by beasts but by disasters of nature, which both of them were.

"Bang!" Makima turned her golden eyes. And then, struck in front. Making a chain appear from it. It had nothing to do with speed, it formed in a straight line, as if it was always there, and a hole formed in the clone attacking her. An attack where speed wasn't a factor.

However, Naruto learned from this clone's failure. He was unending, and sent even more clones. Wherever she would point, the chain would form.

Nevertheless, killing a clone wouldn't be the end of it, as soon as he sent a chakra burst through the link, they would regenerate.

Makima was being overwhelmed fast, as the clones all closed in.

Before they reached her, a circle of chain spikes impaled all the clones. This was so fast the chains exploded on impact. Making the bodies flow out into the air.

Both warriors here, Makima and Naruto were so extremely fast that their punches blew the air into shockwaves, any strikes faster than that exploded with fireballs and shockwaves.

Makima then, made something that Naruto was not expecting, she flew into the air. And then chains of red dragged across the island, one of them caught his leg, and then he was thrown out from his hiding spot.

Fighting her was dangerous beyond belief, so he sent out his clones once things got dangerous and was about to form a strategy to checkmate her, but she sensed that, and fought to find him first.

300 clones burst from him, and all of them had golden orbs of death and destruction in their hands.

Her golden eyes turned dark, and from her fingers, heat-seeking black chains were able to pierce their skulls, after they evaded. However one got loose and her whole chest was imploded by the rasengan touching just a bit.

She coughed blood, but she smiled. And the wound was healed faster than Naruto could perceive, all that was left was bloody clothes. Meanwhile, one of the clones had it's chest blown apart.

The same wound.

Makima redirected her own wound to another clone pierced by her chains.

Naruto laughed, as his clones freed him. He knew that the woman in front of him was only just beginning to show her true power.

He'd had almost limitless chakra, but so did she. She fought dirty and kept her distance, but that did not mean she was fragile. No, she was a sponge, no matter how hard he hit her, she would be okay instantly, just like him. And her attacks were extremely hard hitting, those chains were hard to dodge, they moved so fast, and they were numerous, from all sides they chased his clones, and they were hard to get out of.

"There comes a time where you must realize there are still weaknesses about you. You're someone who does a lot of damage and can take as much as you've got, however, you are prone to getting controlled. In a straight fight, there's probably none here that can beat you, however, many play dirty like me. You must learn."

A chain sprouted and then a circle of red appeared on the tip of it. His clones all fell to the ground, as did he.

"What is this?" Naruto was eating dirt, as the ground cracked, and his head was bashed as the ground softened more and more, he was sinking to the ground, as the ground turned into soft sand.

"Localized gravity. Enough to keep you on the ground. I was scanning for how much force your muscles can produce all this time."

Makima said with a smile, as chains wrapped around his body, they were also affected by the gravity, and were brittle, but his muscles couldn't gather the force to break them.

"What a tough woman, I don't think I can win against you." He said that as even his lungs felt very bad, he was puking blood as she smiled. She let go of the gravity, as the chain dug to the ground and dispelled.

"So, you can make seals on your chains. And then, seals that affect areas. I pity those that want to fight you Makima-san."

"Then you should pity yourself Naruto-san, you'll be fighting me from now on as well. You're a firepower type that doesn't do well when the enemy plays dirty. That's your main flaw, and that's something you have to mitigate until the end of your training trip."

Instantly making seals on the battlefield, without any paper or ink. Makima was a thorough cheater. Then again, she was the accumulation of all the knowledge and all the innovation from the Uzumaki clan. 800 years of history, so many S-rank leaders giving their all to her, and she was also tied to the Uzumaki clan members.

"And I have this as well."

Her finger was raised, and a soul chain formed on his neck, and formed until her finger.

"I am the holder of your leash, and the one who will judge you. I am the accumulation of the Uzumaki's slave history, and their desire to control human lives. You are not my master, it's the contrary, I am your master, Uzumaki Naruto-san."

"So you're my personal reaper then?" Naruto asked, unconcerned that she held his life in her hand. Her serious face then relaxed and she sighed.

"Aren't you scared, aren't you regretting that you summoned me and lost your freedom as a result?"

"Nah, it doesn't change what I have to do. And it's nice to have a place to finally belong. Regardless of how you feel about me, you won't ever hurt me, right?"

"How cheeky, I am going to hurt you badly." Makima went forward, but instead of punching or slapping him, she hugged his body, transmitted her body heat, and made a smile.

"You belong to me, Naruto-san. Marry me, now." She said as she sighed and hugged him more, with closed eyes.

"You really like hugs, and I'm not marrying you yet, I am still underage."

"And yet, you keep trying to impregnate all the prostitutes across the continent."

"Oh… pr—pregnant? Is there a chance for some of the women I had in the past…?"

"Probably one of them is, congratulations, you're probably a father at 14-years-old, Naruto-san."

She said it with a teasing smile. Naruto paled considerably.

On this day, he learned that Makima was way stronger than he was, and yet he did not mind, having her at his side forever wasn't that bad of an idea either. Her teasing nature was quite pleasing, and these warm hugs were really addicting.

X—X

The rain blasted through Naruto's body, but he still continued gathering more wood for the giant forge. He had to fight floods to the forge so the process couldn't be slowed. He had to avoid splinters from a tree that got struck by lightning. The tree lit up with fire that was immediately squashed by the rain and the bark exploded in all directions and almost hit Naruto, but he continued.

Naruto labored on the forge to give proper respect to both Zabuza and Yoru.

All the while the red-haired golden-eyed woman watched him. The rain passed through her body as if she was a phantom. And she was. Uzumaki Makima, the master and owner of the Uzumaki's, the one who held his leash. The only person who could reign him in. She had control over his blood and soul. A spirit made of seals and blood of countless royal Uzumaki's. A spirit who had the entire knowledge of the clan since its inception.

Naruto was tied to her. And she was stronger than even he was. Her knowledge of seals and counterseals as well as immortality made her completely invincible. She was able to shut him down in their fight, and constantly teached him about dirty moves. Unfortunately, the weather got very bad, a storm had arrived, and would perhaps stay on this island for many days. Before, Makima-san had taught him how to craft and forge weapons, the Uzumaki way, using a rare metal for reforging.

He wanted to reforge the Executioner's blade from Zabuza, and Yoru's black shortsword. All legendary weapons he got from fighting.

X—X

After weeks of struggling in the typhon. The morning dew finally arrived, without any rain whatsoever. Makima-san had given her blood to both swords, the blood of the spirit was filled with seals. Naruto also imbued his own powerful chakra and blood. As well as robbing the Nine Tails out of a bit of chakra as well to complete these two legendary swords reforged from the framework of the previous two swords.

Heartspan, the sword that cuts through hearts. It was a longsword, more than 2,5m tall, completely red in its design and spiked across. It was a savage thing that looked ready to be wielded by a berserker mad with rage.

Dreamspan, the sword that cuts through dreams. A shortsword, not longer than a kitchen knife and it was black entirely with obsidian design.

Weapons imbued with concepts. Weapons that far surpassed the imagination of what you wanted them to be. Their properties were tied to the user's imagination. These two artifacts were the strongest weapons Naruto has ever seen. It was two elegant blades, and they should be wielded by the most graceful assassins.

"So, are you going to use them, Naruto-san?"

"No, I am not worthy to wield either of them. I know how to wield swords, but I've never been interested in becoming a swordsman. I'll find a swordsman powerful enough and give it to them."

"You spent weeks crafting them just so you could give it to someone else. You're quite the strange one, aren't you?" Makima-san then went for another round of teasing.

Naruto spent days focused on that task, alone and without any help from his shadow clones because he needed to sort out his feelings. He struggled with reforging the blades and faced many dangers in this typhoon, that was all so he could stop and think and contemplate on his own life.

"I crafted them not for the final product, but because I needed to do it. It gave me a reason to contemplate everything that I've gone through."

Naruto smiled at Makima-san. She opened his arms with the devil's smile. Makima-san loved being hugged. And she frequently ordered him to hug her. Naruto wasn't complaining, these hugs were more fulfilling than a year of sex with strangers. She was smaller than him but had quite the big breasts pressing against him, unlike him, she was quite warm and cozy. Makima-san often said that she loved hugging him because his body was cooler than her and offered comfort.

Makima-san was quite the kind person, but still devious. The problem was that she had reign over his life, but that never bothered Naruto at all.

X—X

Naruto-san had his own life to lead, he couldn't stay in the Uzumaki homeland for the rest of his life, of course that wasn't something she wanted for him. She was also very supportive of his plan to subtly change the course of this continent by replacing those in power, the useless Daimyo, born into their position, without any power for change. Too tied to keeping their courts happy to ever want to chase after true peace, replacing these, and routing out the corruption in the higher levels should lead to some semblance of change.

And that permanence he had with his immortal clones, and amicable relationships with most, if not all the countries, one could see the light at the end of a dark tunnel.

His path of peace was quite harsh, and innocent, but he could do it. Using prosperity and better country to country relationships to achieve world peace.

But that path was fraught with danger, and the possibility that it could fail.

Makima was quite happy that he looked so lively, since she had access to all his memories since he was young, she knew his suffering, and his depression.

He was an old man now because of the use of the shadow clones, even at 14-years-old. Desperately searching for something that he could focus, some goal that he could put his all onto.

World peace was a quite tough goal, something that could keep him happy and occupied. Therefore he wasn't exactly focused on bringing peace to people. First and foremost, world peace was a goal that he wanted to himself, to challenge his abilities and mental fortitude. Therefore his plans were not accounting for the little guy, he was focused on the bigger picture, and he was willing to sacrifice those that were in his way.

A depressed man with too much power in his hands. He wanted to give the world peace, not for them, but for him.

Quite selfish, but that was alright in Makima's mind, since she was the most selfish woman in the entire world.

Makima would accompany Naruto now and forever in his endeavours, that's why she was sitting on his shoulder as they arrived on the Land of Frost. A barren land without much forests, there were a few trees here and there, but this place was a rocky cold area. There were quite a few noises as they advanced, waterfalls, but not just any waterfall, they were quite hot to the touch, and there were pools of acids as well. Frost had quite a problem of travelling merchants falling onto these pools and melting their bodies, it was surmised that 12 travellers died every year due to this.

Then again, violent deaths were the main problem in this land, with 500 annual deaths for its population due to violence, it was one of the worst lands in terms of security. There were a lot of gangs, and a lot of greedy lords that contracted ninja and mercenaries for their dirty jobs. A place where Rat Mask was supposed to take care of was overrun with problems.

This was also one of the most profitable lands for the Zodiacs, since Rat Mask had bought most of the business, though all the money wasn't reinvested into it. The country's logistics were literal trash with only 47 paved stone roads compared to 478 paved roads in the Land of Fire, and the logistics of the Land of Fire were still bad. Only the capital was a modern jewel in this rocky desert.

This place was an infestation of rats, befitting of the name of Rat Mask, then again, the Zodiac left this land to the dogs as the main land he's situated is the Land of Iron where there was a group of samurai warriors who led the country.

Rat Mask drained the land entirely, and it was one of the examples of how bad an influence a Zodiac can have on the land. Monkey and Goat invested in the infrastructure and hoped the prosperity of the land would yield higher results, their strategy worked, however they were investing in the future so they could get higher profits in the future. Rat just drained the land, and got higher profits in the short term.

No strategy was wrong since both ways were granting large amounts of cash to the Hokage and the village. Now that Naruto was looking at it though, this land was to be pitied.

Makima was smiling as they arrived where Jiraiya-sensei would be. Naruto was a bit nervous since he'd have to introduce Makima as his permanent companion for the rest of his life. He could already guess Jiraiya's reaction.

But he overestimated Jiraiya, the man was in a bar surrounded by women leaching his money like crazy. Naruto sighed in irritation as women tried to surround him as well, but they were all deeply scared when Makima glared at them.

"Naruto! You're back! Finally! You look a little better than before, you were all mopey and depressed before, hahahaha!" The man laughed as he gulped even more sake.

"Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if a hostess kills you in the future, Pervy Sage."

"How many years has it been since you called me that, brat?"

Naruto grinned as he put his hand on Makima's shoulder and she gladly hugged him like a koala bear. After a while she released and looked at Jiraiya, with the man also appraising her.

"I didn't know you had such a pathetic teacher, Naruto-san." Makima closed both her eyes with a thin smile and her hands on her back. Almost as if making a statement that was focused on getting Jiraiya-sensei mad. Naruto cringed as his teacher was about to explode.

"Hey, hey, hey, who is she?"

"Don't talk to dear Naruto-san like I'm not here, you can ask me that question personally." Makima approached with a hidden smirk. Wearing black pants and white shirt. With a black tie. She had golden eyes with rings inside of them and you could get lost in her eyes for days on end. However she was quite the devilish woman.

"My name is Uzumaki Makima, I am Naruto-san's ancestor, you could call it. I am the accumulation of all of the Uzumaki's knowledge, talent and blood." She turned to the side while still looking at Jiraiya with the most arrogant smirk you could place on her face.

"That's how it is Jiraiya-sensei, this woman will be accompanying us, or rather, me for the future."

"Naruto. You can't pick up women in your travels and expect for me to agree. Don't you realize that Konoha ninja have a strict rule about this sort of stuff. Accumulation of all the Uzumaki knowledge, "

Jiraiya put a palm on his face and sighed hard. What an idiot, the man was barely a speck in the grand scheme of things. He was important to Naruto's journey but not that important. Only a few weeks with him and she had already become more important to him than this boring man.

"We can't have strangers from outside of the village going with us."

"Sorry, but I'm not going to leave Makima behind, you'll have to deal with her, whether you like it or not."

"Tsunade is going to complain about this, you know." Jiraiya sobered up, and faced Naruto, while the 14-year-old who killed a Tailed Beast faced him as well.

Their staring contest kept growing fiercer as their chakra auras exploded outward. Makima grabbed a strand of her hair due to the wind, while the plates and glasses flew to the floor. The owner came to stop them, but Naruto just bashed the table, making the bouncers and the owner pale, and the hostesses all cried out due to the noise.

"Are you going against the village rules, brat?"

"Yeah, and I don't even care. Who's going to stop me anyway?"

"Grrr… Tsunade is the Hokage, are you betraying your own Hokage."

"I'm the one who placed her there, despite her groaning. And there's no one who wants to make Konoha a better place than me!"

Naruto contested his own teacher without flinching. Jiraiya's eyes narrowed, and he unleashed a haymaker against his own student. Naruto was prideful enough to headbutt the fist. The ensuing disaster broke the tiles below them, and some of the tables were overturned.

In the end, the bravado went on for the whole night. With both sides unwilling to ever give up on their views. Naruto had decided that Makima would go with him, no matter what. Jiraiya thought otherwise, a woman from who knows where accompanying them?

Ridiculous, the height of foolishness.

However, Makima did not care for the rules of Konoha either, she was Naruto's permanent companion, whether Naruto or Jiraiya liked it or not.

"Isn't your whole shtick about understanding each other towards peace? You're acting like any old boring shinobi who follows their strict code. And where did that code bring you?" Naruto said it with a critical look and with his chin up.

"You're too young to criticize me for my life choices brat, maybe live for another 10,000 years. You want to bring her along, fine, but the responsibility is yours. I don't approve of her, and she's not invited to our training sessions."

Jiraiya left for another hostess bar. Leaving both Makima and Naruto there, before they left for the mountains of the Land of Frost, searching for hidden hot springs with waterfalls.

Jiraiya started realizing that Naruto cared way more for Makima than he cared for him.

Jiraiya did not like the tone of Naruto's speech, therefore, to punish his student, he worked on the worst subject Naruto had, to use the powers of the Nine Tails inside of him. What a foolish idea. No matter how much Naruto protested that he did not need the powers of the fox to be strong, or to deal with the Akatsuki, Jiraiya kept egging him on. And one day, Jiraiya summoned an exceptionally large scroll toad. And then, in front of Naruto, he loosened the seal, so Naruto could start learning more about how to control the fox's chakra.

Naruto buried himself on the ground, and then saw the populated village of 125.

"Ji—Jiraiya-sensei, you're…"

Naruto did not know what the toad was for. Naruto thought they would start training with the summons, which was something Naruto was interested in. He didn't know what that scroll toad was for, until Jiraiya pressed the square markings and then turned counterclockwise. Makima was in that village, probably eating sushi or something. She was the only one that could actually stop him if he went wild at this stage.

Naruto felt it immediately. Orange and red tinted chakra flooded the atmosphere.

"Now, control it Naruto, with the chakra of the fox, you can become even stronger."

"Jiraiyaaaaa." What came from Naruto's mouth was more of a roar than a name.

"Hahahahaha, what a stupid teacher, huh? See how easy I can feed you with my chakra now? Just to make it clear, I am not controlling you, my chakra, filled with my emotions, messes with your own self-control. Don't blame me later for this one since it's your teacher that started this whole mess. Hahahahahahaha!"

"You're still feeding me chakra you piece of shit fox. If it isn't your fault I don't know what is!"

Naruto complained while gritting on the ground as red bubbles started to form. At this stage, the fox wasn't in control. The chakra received by Naruto was high in volume, and thus was filled with the foxes emotions and intents, it did not control him. But it made his own emotions go haywire. Soon rage was met with rage. Their relationship was so bad that Naruto had nothing but wrath towards the fox, and it in turn hated its jailer.

Not to mention, Naruto's feelings as he kept them bottled with his utilitarian mask came flooding out, his hatred of the ninja world, his hatred from his childhood, his anger towards his teammate Sasuke. The indignation about Jiraiya's petty training.

"Jiraiiyaaaaaaaaa!" Naruto formed one single tail as a bubble armor of sorts was in place around his clothing. It was the mantle of the fox.

"Ar—Are you alright? Control yourself Naruto!" Jiraiya yelled, before a paw swiped him across the entire region. The skin grafted itself on Naruto's paw, as some of Jiraiya's ribs, and the surface tissue of the lungs also exploded.

Naruto was now just a beast of pure emotions, and he turned his attention towards the small village.

Though strangely, the red beast didn't find any single inhabitant there.

A single tail was behind the red beast with its bubbling.

The beast previously named Naruto arrived in the village in an instant.

And following it were small fireballs that quickly expanded to 20 meters and blew the entire path that the beast took.

The houses before its arrival were blown apart instantly. And combusted into nothingness.

This single-tailed mantle was wildly different from the beast that faced its teammate a year back. Because Naruto now was overwhelmingly stronger when compared to what he was before.

Because Naruto was so overwhelmingly strong, the beast mantle became exponentially stronger than it was before. Because Naruto and the Nine Tails relationship was even worse now, he lost control even faster than before.

The beast roared in the middle of the empty streets, and its tail raised to the air. Then the tail dropped to the ground. A fireball melted even the crust of this village, making it a crater and a ravine that led to lava below. The houses, and the village were now gone.

And the one in front of the beast, with hundreds of chains behind her, was Makima. Every chain led to a person. Makima had chained everyone and dragged them into the air. They looked like people being hanged, but they were just held by the chains, though it was certainly a macabre sight.

Nevertheless, Makima had saved the villagers from certain death, the village itself did not survive, however. It was a black burning crater with a ravine in the middle, opening the crust of the earth to the magma below.

"Come hug your owner, my little dog."

Makima said so to the uncontrollable beast and opened her arms. As the rain started, their fight began.

X—X

"Do you know what you did? You loosened the seal and now there is no going back." Makima hugged dear Naruto-san despite being cloaked in the blood red chakra, Makima loved hugging her favorite people. And Naruto-san was her favorite.

"Ghrn…" The man called Jiraiya was choking on his own blood. He got what he deserved for rushing dear Naruto-san into a path he didn't want to. Makima wanted the false sage to suffer more for what he tried to push onto Naruto without him wanting to. It was a pity that he would survive this. But that would make a scar to be remembered.

"You're a fool, now the day where Naruto-san and the Nine Tails, creation of the sage, come into conflict will draw even closer."

The bloody battle for supremacy, the strongest of the Tailed beasts and the strongest Uzumaki to have ever lived. Makima was linked by blood to Naruto-san, and even if she held an upper hand on that relationship, Naruto-san had a direct effect on Makima and that showed by her affection and love for him in her twisted controlling ways.

Makima hugged Naruto-san even harder, his body locked up by the golden chains coming out of her back, infused with seals to stop even a monster destroying an entire country. She embraced him and smelled his scent. Ahh, I'm not going anywhere Naruto-san, you just smell so good.

She closed her eyes and leaned on his body further and further, a very tight hug. She loved hugs, hugs were good, they staved off the loneliness she felt for 800 years. Makima was the accumulation of the Uzumaki's knowledge and blood. She held all the memories of its people as well as its core value. Always protect the family. Makima would always protect Naruto, for centuries to come, she would protect him and never care about anything else.

"Someday your stupidity is going to get you killed, false sage. And by that time I'll make sure that Naruto cries in my bosom as I reassure him."

Makima released the chains. Now the beast was unleashed to ravage Frost again. Makima was up in the rubble, looking like a depiction of a savior with Naruto-san infused by the Nine Tails by her side. The red chakra did not control Naruto-san's body, it instead heightened the emotions he was hiding under his utilitarian mask, mainly the boiling anger he felt at everything. He suffered a lot despite being so young. The memories of him being called a demon by the population of Konoha and being rejected at every turn. The memories of killing people and overturning countries while he did not have a clear goal at the time. The memories of anger and frustration were being viewed by Makima as clear as day.

Naruto-san growled again. However he stayed by her side like an attack dog. Crouched and with his hands destroying the rubble by just being in contact with them.

"Sit." Makima looked lovingly at him And like a well-trained canine Naruto-san did so.

"Good boy." Naruto-san jumped on her arms and licked her face. She giggled at the affection while Jiraiya looked at her as if she were evil. What a truly boring man. She was evil to anyone who wasn't Naruto-san, she would become the worst devil if it meant Naruto was fine and safe.

The chakra of the Nine-Tails relented and dispelled, and Naruto leaned on her. His muscled body was leaning on her as he slept. The poor boy was unconscious after all that and was probably not aware of the wanton destruction that he did while he was not in control.

"Who are you?"

"I am Makima, Naruto-san's protector, and the spirit of the Uzumaki."

Makima lifted Naruto on her back as she made him piggyback ride him. His head was on her shoulder as he slept soundly with her at his side. Makima looked at the destruction and smiled.

"Naruto-san will be quite distraught when he wakes up. Fortunately, I am by his side now and forever. I will comfort and care for him using my body as he releases his frustrations on me."

"You're a devil," Jiraiya said while huffing on the ground, without having the strength to even move a finger.

"No, I am just another legend in Naruto-san's life. You said it yourself. This is Naruto-san's story, not yours. This is your failure as a teacher." Makima said while looking around at the devastated countryside. "You pushed your unreasonable Nine tail chakra training while not considering the bad relationship between both of them. You don't even realize how a Jinchuuriki controls the Tailed Beast inside. It relies on trust and good relationships for both of them. Right now Naruto is the farthest away from ever controlling the creation of the sage. You are just a fool in the end."

Makima turned her head and gave an arrogant smirk as she passed through the injured Jiraiya without even lifting a finger to help him. Makima smiled without even looking back, feeling Naruto-sans breath on her ears and shuddering. Naruto-san was a legend and Makima was another.

This was the start of the legend of Naruto-san and Makima.

Those who didn't have the resolve and those that were weak did not have a place in this story.

Weaklings need not apply.

With Chainsaw man anime being announced I wanted to insert Makima by all means necessary in the story, and I found a way. A demon made by the seals of the Uzumaki, so yeah, Makima is now fully integrated to the story as an Uzumaki relic. She posseses their blood and she is a redhead, I couldn't resist.
