Knives such as the seax and other blades of similar length – between 30 and 60 cm (1 and 2 ft) – are sometimes construed as swords. This is especially the case for weapons from antiquity, made before the development of high quality steel that is necessary for longer swords, in particular

Viox was nervous. Scratch that, she was scared! Her green eyes took in all the guests flooding up the steps of the Favonius Cathedral. She was standing next to her sister, who had dressed in a white dress that was strapless. It had a small black ribbon in the back to make sure it was holding up, but Viox doubted that it was going to be on long at all tonight. Diluc had a thing about white dresses and Violet in them. Viox sighed through her nose quietly, waiting of course for when they could enter the Cathedral themselves to enjoy the party life. Her eyes gazed over the throngs of people as a small Knight in a red shawl caught her eyes. She smiled as Klee spotted her, tugging away from Albedo, who merely nodded towards Viox. Klee rushed up the steps as Viox smiled down at the younger one.

"You made it." She greeted the other, leaning down a little.

Klee grinned brightly, "We did! Albedo was having an issue with his tie and we were almost late!" She said as she twirled around in her white dress, "What do you think? Miss Lisa did my makeup and helped me with my dress!" Klee giggled excitedly.

Viox chuckled, "It all looks so lovely. Did you help Knight Albedo as well?" She asked, taking note that the Chief Alchemist had finally caught up with Klee. He was wearing his hair down as his full outfit was a little surprising. The full suit was black with a white button up and a simple red tie that was the same coloring as Klee's shawl. He seemed not all that bothered at the fact that his hair was in his face. Viox remembered last time she had seen him it was pulled back. She stood up fully, hearing Klee gasp a little.

"You have the dress!" The smaller voice was filled with happiness, as her hands touched the black dress.

Albedo gave a quick nod, "What changed your mind on the dress choice?" He asked, his voice sounding more like he was a robot than human.

Viox smiled weakly, reaching up to rub the back of her neck. " I couldn't find another that looked as good. So I went with this one." She explained weakly. Which was not true. She merely wanted to make Klee happy, and so after they had left, Viox made sure to buy the dress.

"It's fitting." Albedo said, his eyes looked her over, stopping at her neck.

Viox swallowed a little as she knew that she rarely wore her vision, normally it was tucked away in her pocket. She had placed it on a black choker so it hung near her collarbone. She flushed a little as Albedo's gaze went up to her face. She looked away for a moment. Maybe she shouldn't have put on so much makeup after all. Though Violet would disagree. Viox had just done some simple eyeliner and mascara. Viox had left her hair down as the thick wavy pink hair flowed down to her mid back, sure some could see the peaking of her burn scars, but her hair mostly covered them. Though Violet wanted to add a smokey eye to the look to pull it all together. Viox was quick to say no. For some odd reason it felt as if Albedo was judging her for putting in effort to look nice.

"Big brother Albedo, we need to get moving! I want to see Miss Jean before the awards!" Klee said loudly as she tugged on Albedo's hand gently.

That broke Viox from her thoughts. She smiled as Albedo waved a quick goodbye as he followed Klee inside. Now she had a real reason to be nervous, if Albedo was judging her so quickly, what would Kaeya think of her outfit now? She bit her lip, being quick to brush off the silent man's eyes from her mind as she went on to stand next to her twin, who was busy greeting other Knights.

Viox was bored out of her mind. She had been standing away from the crowds as she watched everyone dance and drink. She had a small wine glass in her hand and had been nursing it all night. Viox was merely waiting as Violet had stated after the awards were passed out, they could go to the tavern for the rest of the night. She took a small sip from the wine glass as she pulled it away from her lips, her eyes caught sight of Kaeya. The man was dancing with one of the many women that had attended tonight's party. She wasn't surprised he hadn't asked her to dance, although he had complimented her outfit and said she looked nice for the evening, but that was all. Viox would admit that it hurt a little, but it was merely Kaeya's friendship. Viox tore her eyes from the man dancing and noticed her sister was talking with Acting Grand Master Jean. They seemed to be in a light conversation, which was good, it meant they were on good terms. Viox sighed through her nose as she leaned against one of the cool pillars in the Cathedral's main room. She wanted to leave and head out towards home at this point. She placed her glass on a tray as someone walked past her, they would take it into the kitchens to be washed and refilled. Viox felt a very cold hand slip into hers as her eyes looked up at the person who had taken up her hand. Albedo looked blank faced as Klee pushed on the back of his legs. Viox blinked as she looked the other over, with a raised brow.

"Big brother Albedo wanted to ask you to dance!" Klee said loudly.

Viox was a little shocked, was Klee trying to force her brother to dance with her? She chuckled weakly as she gently removed her hand from Albedo's very cold one. Looking down at the little one. She smiled warmly, "Klee, are you meddling?" She asked

Klee shook her head, "No! Albedo said that he wanted to ask you to dance since you were alone!" She said with a stomp of her foot, puffing up her cheeks in a mad pout.

Viox looked at Albedo, who showed no emotion. She tilted her head towards Klee, "Is she telling the truth? Did you want to dance with me?" She asked him.

Albedo cleared his throat a little, "If you wouldn't mind allowing me to part-take in a small dance? Klee is telling the truth. I just don't understand the question of dancing with someone." He explained.

"See! I told you!" Klee squealed from her spot.

A smile appeared on Viox's lips as she quickly apologized to Klee before turning towards Albedo, "I wouldn't mind a quick small dance."

Albedo nodded as he held out his hand for her to take, in which Viox did. The cold of his hand sent some goosebumps up her arms. He was colder than Kaeya. She found that odd as he told Klee to wait for him to get back, the smaller agreed as she stood off towards the side while Albedo led Viox to the dancefloor. Still close to Klee but far from the guests. Viox honestly found it more comfortable to be in her own space while dancing. Albedo circled his hand around her waist, keeping his hand on her mid back. He seemed mindful of the comfort of his dance partner. Viox smiled a little as she slipped her left hand on his shoulder. Interlocking their left and right hands together.

Viox allowed him to lead in the dance, rather surprised he was a natural leader. She didn't mind it as they slowly danced in their spot. Viox was close to his form, and could smell fresh grass, paints, and dirt almost. She was confused by the smells, perhaps he was an artist as well? That would explain the paint smell. But dirt? She was confused by it as they swayed in their small spot on the dance floor. Viox had to admit, she was enjoying the dance. Soon the music faded away as Albedo slowly broke away as they both bowed to one another.

"It was a pleasure to dance with you, Chief Alchemist Albedo." Viox said as she snapped upwards from her bow.

"And you as well, Miss Viox." Albedo replied, standing up fully as well.
Viox smiled at him as they walked back over to Klee who was talking with a woman dressed in black dress that was skin tight. A hairpin was in her dirty blonde hair as her Eletro Vision dangled from it.

"Ah look, Albedo is back now, I'll see you later Klee, please, do behave!" The woman said as Klee nodded happily.

Viox chuckled as Albedo was quickly swept out towards the dance floor by Klee. She smiled as she leaned back on her pillar. Watching Albedo try to dance with Klee carefully. He was just following Klee's lead. Viox relaxed slowly, the dance had been rather nice. Sadly, she might ever see the small Crimson Knight and Chief Alchemist again after tonight.

Viox's ears perked up at the sounds of something outside the large windows she stood next to. It sounded almost robotic? She turned her head a little as she walked up towards one of the large stained glass windows. She squinted as she could see a floating shape of sorts outside, though blurred due to the colored glass. She could hear the noises more clearly now. Her eyes connected with a bright orb of light as she backed up slowly. She could hear that the party guests were still acting fine, but she knew what was going to happen. Ruin Hunters were outside the building. She turned to say something as her eyes connected with blank sea-bluegreen, before the windows all shattered. Everything went black.
