Anxiety is an emotion characterized by an unpleasant state of inner turmoil and includes subjectively unpleasant feelings of dread over anticipated events.[1][2] It is often accompanied by nervous behavior such as pacing back and forth, somatic complaints, and rumination.
To say the Wangshu Inn wasn't beautiful was an understatement and a plain lie. Viox took in the gorgeous view of the large tree that had a large Inn built around its base all the way to the top. She felt her jaw drop a little as they walked around towards the front. It had a large port deck as Albedo talked with a few people about the horses and wagon. Klee held onto Viox's hand as they both looked around with awe. People in the Inn's uniform rushed around, calling out orders as they were busy decorating for the Lantern Rite. Viox looked towards the left as she noticed there was a weird box that rose up and down, carrying people within its walls.
"It is called an elevator." Albedo said as he walked up next to Klee and Viox. His face was lost to any emotions.
Klee giggled lightly, "It looks like fun! Can we ride it, big brother Albedo?" She asked as she tugged on Albedo's hand lightly.
Albedo nodded, "It's the only safe entrance to the Inn. We have to wait our turn though. The workers here are all getting ready for the Lantern Rite. So we may be sharing with a few others as well." His eyes looked towards Miss Viox, who seemed to be in awe of the place. Though, he knew the heat might get to her soon. Liyue was extremely hot during this time of year, and Miss Viox had stated on the way over, that if she happened to be in the heat too long, she would get what was called a heat flash, and might faint. Albedo wasn't fully sure on how long she could stay out. Klee had stated this morning that she wished to go fish blasting at the docks around the Inn.
Viox could feel the eyes of someone on her form as she locked eyes with Albedo, who was watching her, "Something wrong Knight Albedo?" She asked, watching as the man tilted his head towards the elevator. She nodded in understanding as she followed his lead, heading over to the huge box that looked as if it was on a pulley system of some sorts. She felt Klee hold onto her hand and give it a squeeze as she gently squeezed back. She could feel the other's excitement as the elevator lowered itself down in front of the group.
"Careful getting on." Albedo warned
Viox gingerly took a step onto the box. Klee was holding on to her hand tightly as she too stepped on.
"So when does it go?" Viox asked as a few more people got on with them.
"In a few seconds. It takes about two minutes after lowering to raise up to the Inn floor level." Albedo explained as the elevator started to move.
Viox quickly took up Albedo's hand as she was startled by the thing moving, not paying mind that his hand was only a little larger than her smaller one, or the butterflies that entered her chest that she stomped away just as fast. She refused to let a little action of fright allow her to get feelings. She squeezed it a little as they waited, taking note that Klee was hugging onto her brother's leg. Viox smiled at Klee's large eyes of curiosity, taking in what was happening.
Slowly, the elevator stopped at the top floor. Viox quickly removed her hand from Albedo's as they all moved off the thing and onto the deck of sorts. She looked towards the Alchemist as he took up Klee's hand so the other wouldn't wander off.
"This way, we need to check in and get the keys." He said as he walked towards a set of stairs that were inside a woodend building that happened to be built into the tree.
Viox was impressed, following and taking in the workings of the Inn. She could see someone getting married here. The pink haired woman followed as they all walked downstairs to a front counter. There was a tall man, who looked around his young thirties, as he was getting a set of keys. He had long deep brown hair that faded into a rust color at the tips, he was well dressed, as he turned to look at the group that had arrived at the counter.
"Ah, Albedo, you arrived on time." The man said as his orange colored eyes took in the other.
"I am always on time for everything, Zhongli, even you know that." The Alchemist states as the woman behind the counter greeted Albedo before looking for the room keys.
"You also brought a few people I haven't met yet." The man now dubbed as Zhongli turns his gaze onto the other two next to the other man. A pink haired woman and a smaller child, who was playing with Albedo's fingertips as if they were of interest. The woman, on the other hand, looked scared by his presence. Not that Zhongli minded, till he heard his soon to be wife's voice sound out.
"Viox! You're here!" Rei's voice echoed out as Viox turned from the group a little ways, her hand still holding onto Klee's before she let go. Seeing her oldest friend walking over, Viox smiled brightly as she tackled the smaller into her arms
"REI!" She shouted happily as she held the other in a tight hug.
"It's been ages since I last saw you." Rei said as they pulled apart slowly, "You look the same as when I left. Still no changes in your clothing choices though." Rei commented as she pulled on Viox's white button up shirt.
Rei was a shorter woman, standing at five feet tall, making Viox the taller of the two, with long, mid-back length, reddish brown hair. Bright honey brown eyes that were bright even on cold days in the winter. Her pale skin was a bit tanner now that she lived in Liyue, the sun was now her friend after three years. She wields a hydro vision, but like Viox, Rei tended to tuck it away in her pocket to hide it from everyone. Viox didn't know much about why Rei does it, but she also never bothered to ask the other either. Rei also was like Violet, sitting on the more curvy side, she was more like a real hourglass than Violet.
"I like things that are comfortable, what's so wrong with my button ups?" Viox teased lightly as she smiled more, "How's Liyue? You hardly sent me a letter this year!"
"I'm sorry, I've been a bit busy with wedding planning!" Rei apologized gently as her eyes watered a little, "It's been so stressful!"
Viox blinked, "A wedding? With whom?" She asked quickly as she held onto Rei's shoulders and looked at her friend with raised brows.
"I believe that is my cue to join in the conversion." Mr. Zhongli said as he cleared his throat a little, moving to stand by his soon to be wife.
Viox moved backwards a little, "Rei?" She whispered out
Rei smiled as she took a moment to lean on the tall man next to her, "That's right, Zhongli and I are going to be married sometime next year."
Viox was shocked as Albedo gently tapped her right hip to snap her out of it.
"Congrats Zhongli." Albedo said as he looked at the other with dull eyes.
Zhongli chuckled, "Thank you Albedo, it means a little more coming from you."
Rei on the other hand had watched the contact between Albedo and Viox. She made a little face as her eyes connected with Albedo's, "I didn't realize you and Viox were together." She said
Albedo blinked as he turned towards Viox, looking for an answer, only to see the other's face flushed red. "We are." he said bluntly.
Viox looked at the other with wide eyes, did he mean to say that? She watched him as she felt more blood rise to her cheeks with embarrassment. She didn't want to correct him due he was learning, but she also didn't want to have him confused on what Rei was saying to him. Sadly, before she could get a sound out, he reached up and touched her forehead.
Albedo could feel the heat rising as it leaked through his glove, he looked Viox over a little bit, "You seem to be having a hot flash, should we move inside?" He asked her, "I know Klee was wanting to go fish blasting later, but I know that the heat gets to you easily."
Viox refused to allow his monotone voice to sound so caring in her mind, "I can stay behind as you both go, I can always join after the sun lowers more." She said as she looked towards Klee, who was too busy looking at the view to be paying attention to all of the adults talking. She seemed to really like the place.
"If that is what you would like, besides I still have much to talk about with Zhongli." Albedo replies as he hands over the room key.
Viox smiles a little as she takes it, "I need to catch up with Rei anyways, so you guys enjoy yourselves. Come on Rei, let's chat for a bit and catch up." Viox states as she snags Rei's hand and drags the other behind her.
Albedo watches the two ladies walk off inside the Inn, not exactly sure on why Viox needed to talk with Miss Rei.
"You must be trying to understand the emotion, confused, or worried. That is natural to some friendships. Though, with you, I am unsure what you could be attempting to feel." Zhongli spoke out loud, though it was still quiet.
Albedo looked at his oldest friend. He knew who laid beneath the skin of Mister Zhongli, although the God of Contracts gave away his Godhood. He still was one of Albedo's connections with Rhinedottir. "As you know, I am on a time limit. Do you know where Her location is?" He asks, the mood around the two Geo Vision users seems to dampen.
"Not here, let us go with Klee to a fishing spot near the waters, we shall talk more there." Zhongli replies coldly.
Albedo knows that with different tones of speech, that Mister Zhongli was going to be as serious as he needs to be. After all, they were in his territory. Albedo slowly nods, watching as Klee darts over.
"Let's go Big Brother! The fish are in the shade now!" Klee giggles as she darts off ahead to lead the other two to the fishing spot.
"So first off, how did he ask you?" Viox immediately asks as she shuts the Inn room door behind her form. Rei was sitting on one of the two beds, she seems to be nervous, but Viox just grins.
"Well it surprised me, that's for sure. He did it around Lantern Rite last year." Rei says, watching Viox jump onto the other bed, "You seem all too excited about this." Rei chuckles
"I am! Anyways, keep going, what's the theme and flowers? Your dress?" Viox replies quickly.
"You'll have to come with me to my fitting tomorrow to see the gown, but it's exactly what I wanted. For flowers, we're doing Gaze Lilies and importing Dendrobiums. The theme is Golden Memories. Zhongli has this funny thing about people shining like gold in his memories, so I took it for the theme, he chuckled at it of course and agreed with me. It's like a running joke at this point, and yes before you ask, our colors are white, gold, and deep brown." Rei laughs at Viox's pouting face before moving on, "Now enough about me. You and Albedo, now that's a new thing." She leans in a little.
Viox rolled her eyes, "Oh you mean that fact that I was basically forced to come on this trip because Librarian Lisa went on some mission with Acting Grandmaster Jean." Viox grumbled out as she crossed her arms.
Rei looked at the other, "You're being forced to court?" She whispered softly with a hand over her mouth in horror.
Viox blinked, "Being forced to court? What? No, we're here on a mission, we're not courting."
"Then why do you look at him and blush?" Rei says with raised brows.
Viox flushed, "Because he makes me feel embarrassed!" She squeaked out, "I am not in love with that damn Alchemist. He can eat trash for all I care." She says, crossing her arms and looking away.
Rei chuckled lightly, "How long have you two known each other?" She asks gently
Viox carefully counts the days from the moment that Albedo and her had met to now, "If I had to put a number on it, maybe about three-ish weeks?" She says, not completely confident in her answer, but that's what she was assuming. Maybe it was longer, but she wasn't sure.
Rei nodded, "Thats plenty of time to fall for someone V. Especially since you two are sharing this room, granted you are sharing it with the kiddo as well, which is his sister?"
"Yeah, they're like adopted siblings, she looks at him as an older brother, and he takes care of her as a younger sister." Viox explains
"That's a green flag from me. He's cute, nice, is a little shy, and takes care of his sister. Viox you need to court this man before someone snatchs him up!" Rei gushes heavily
Viox takes a moment as she looks at her oldest friend, "I don't think he will ever feel the same though Rei, it's a lost cause." She says softly
Rei's attention is grabbed, taking one of Viox's hands into her's, "He's not Kaeya, that's it right? It's not him not feeling the same, its you not feeling the same."
"Yeah…he's not Kaeya…" Viox says, though she can't help but feel like maybe giving up on Kaeya wasn't too hard of a task at this point. After years of pining after the Cavalry Captain, maybe it was time to move on, but not towards the Alchemist, no, he would never feel the same due to the lack of emotions. Viox needed to be with someone who was nice and could express their feelings.
