Curiosity (from Latin cūriōsitās, from cūriōsus "careful, diligent, curious", akin to cura "care") is a quality related to inquisitive thinking such as exploration, investigation, and learning, evident by observation in humans and other animals.[1][2] Curiosity is heavily associated with all aspects of human development, in which derives the process of learning and desire to acquire knowledge and skill.
After Albedo had talked with Zhongli a week ago, it seemed like the soon to be married couple was everywhere. Viox didn't seem to mind it all that much although she seemed to be expressing the emotion called happiness, according to Klee. Albedo was trying to understand another thing, a different emotion. Something he was calling curiosity. It started a couple days ago when he had gone downstairs to meet up with Zhongli to talk more about where Rhinedottir's location may be, as he also was unsure where the Alchemist had gone. The two had decided to work together to see where she was last seen and heard from. So far their search was at a dead end, but Albedo had decided that he would learn a few new things while he was here, after all, he was supposed to be also learning about emotions as well.
Albedo could still recall the moment curiosity entered his mind. He had been minding his business as he sat at the table he would meet Zhongli at, his bride would kiss his cheek before she headed up to the shared Inn room of the Mondstadt crew.
Albedo noticed a new woman had approached the table and took a seat across from Albedo that morning instead of Zhongli. She had commented that Albedo's artwork was beautiful, Albedo of course tried to ignore her as he was uninterested in her, but she continued to talk with him, even though he was not responding to her odd-ball comments about how pretty Albedo was. When he had turned to tell the woman off, she had told him that he had gorgeous eyes and that they should go for a walk in the evening sometime. Albedo merely didn't reply but tilted his head at the fact this person was being so bold as to ask him to court her. He didn't even know her name after all.
After that, a day later, Zhongli had been showing the Mondstadt crew around the Inn and the town next to it, as they were all taking their time looking around, Rei had pulled Viox and Klee off towards a vendor that was selling jewelry. Albedo had watched them go as a man had come up to him and introduced himself as a person with a keen eye for beautiful women. Though, Albedo was quick to correct that he was a man. Albedo had noticed that Zhongli had a hard time covering up his laughter as the unknown man tried to talk more with Albedo. Saying odd things like the woman had, saying Albedo was a lovely man and such. Albedo merely brushed them off as Miss Viox walked over to talk with him about a small necklace she had gotten him.
Albedo gently reached up and touched the cool metal small sword that rested at the base of his neck. It was silver with a small piece of Core Lapis resting at the hilt of it. It was attached to a thin leather strap that Klee helped tie in the back. Perhaps this was what they called curiosity due to Miss Viox having shown him nothing but small simple gestures, but she had a disdain about being on the trip. Maybe the necklace that she had bought him was a sign that she was enjoying being here with him and Klee. Currently, Albedo was sitting next to Zhongli as the rest of the group splashed in the cooling waters next to the Inn. Zhongli was reading a book as Albedo had been sketching about curiosity. The picture was incomplete at the moment as he lowered the sketch book onto his lap.
"Something on your mind Albedo?" Zhongli asked as he too lowered his book to gaze at the Golem.
Albedo blinked, "What is flirting?"The question seemed innocent enough, but he looked over at the taller person who was coughing. He believed that Zhongli had inhaled a bit of spit and merely it went into his lungs.
After Zhongli had settled from his coughing fit, he cleared his throat, "You see, flirting is hard to explain in a way that is not the actions of it. If you like someone, you show some interest in the act of lightly flirting with them. A compliment here and there about their looks or personality, maybe they wore a nice outfit and you like it, so you pay them a compliment. That would count as an attempt to flirt."
Albedo listened over the others words carefully, his dull eyes shifted towards Miss Viox's form. Her long pink hair had been tied up into a ponytail, which was a surprise after only seeing it down and covering her face. Today though, she tried her best to keep it out of her face, which showed both her bright green eyes. She wore a pair of pants that were rolled up to her shins, although they were soaked at this point from the splashing of water. Her top was a simple button up that was a dark blue color, the sleeves as well rolled up to her elbows. She was very pretty as the artist inside him would say, he would draw her if she would allow him too.
"I believe I understand." Albedo replied quietly as he picked up his sketch pad once more, his hand moving around the page. He would have to perform the act of flirting later.
Yet, later didn't happen when Albedo had planned it too. He was once again stopped by a woman as they attempted to flirt with him. Although, he was able to properly say in confidence that the emotion his body was trying to feel was indeed curiosity, he was not curious about this weak attempt at flirting. The woman seemed keen on trying to keep his interest but he merely didn't pay attention. Instead, something else, no, someone, had drawn in his gaze.
"Knight Albedo, who's your new friend?" Miss Viox asked, walking over as she had a towel around her shoulders to fight off the chill from splashing in the water. Klee was being mothered by Rei a little ways away.
Albedo blinked, "Actually, they are not my new friend." He replied dully, watching Miss Viox look between Albedo and the woman that he had not bothered learning her name.
"I'm Jeesia!" The woman said in a snappish tone, which Albedo noticed, caused Miss Viox to raise a brow at the tone of voice that was directed at her. Albedo knew he was too dense with tones of voices, but jealousy was an easy one to catch on, even if he didn't understand the emotion, he knew what it sounded like.
"I'm Miss Viox. You know, to get a man's attention, you really should try less makeup and more clothes, even I wouldn't give you my time of day." Miss Viox replied, crossing her arms.
Albedo heard the woman huff as she stomped off. He was curious on how Miss Viox formulated her sentence in some way that made the other woman leave.
"Sorry about that, Knight Albedo." Miss Viox spoke softly
Albedo looked over, taking note of how the other was shivering. He merely walked over, gently taking the towel off her shoulders, carefully rubbing it on her wet face and hair. "Do not worry over that. Worry over yourself, you are cold are you not?" He asked as he gently attempted to dry the other's form, starting on her arms and shoulders, wrapping the towel more firmly around her as he dried her.
"Cold, anxiety, one of those two." Miss Viox replied lightly
Albedo looked at the other as his brain screamed to draw this moment right now. Though many would think it was a naughty thought, for Albedo it was merely an urge to draw how truly the person in front of him could hold such beauty within a human form. Her pale face was smooth as her lips looked soft, but he could see the bits of dried up skin, as well as parts where she had chewed at it as it was red or scabbed over. Her eyes were wide with something Albedo wanted to learn about as her lashes brushed her the small skin below her eye but above her cheek bone with each blink. Albedo felt something inside his shell of a body pulse softly as he carefully pulled away from the other.
"Knight Albedo?" Miss Viox asked softly, her hands clasped around the towel edges as she held it around her shoulders after Albedo had released it from his grip
Albedo shook his head a little, "It's nothing, just thinking about something I learned today." He replied as he reached over and tucked some of Miss Viox's hair behind her ear, "I think I understand what curiosity is."
Night had fallen as Viox entered the Inn room after her shower in the bathroom they all shared, she was carefully drying her hair as she walked over and sat on the same bed as Klee, who was drawing a picture. Albedo was missing from the room at the moment, but he was getting them all dinner, he seemed to remember everyone's orders quickly as he headed out.
"Klee, what are you drawing?" Viox asked as she leaned over the little one's shoulder to see the artwork.
"I'm drawing you and big brother Albedo and me!" She said happily, pushing the paper towards the adult.
Viox smiled warmly, looking over the pencil drawing of messy stick figures, all clearly labeled of course, "This is very good Klee. Do you often draw?"
"Not normally. Big brother Albedo's is much better at the art stuff than I am. He did give me lessons one time, and that's how I can draw now! Should I ask him to teach me again?" Klee's big eyes looked at Viox for an answer.
Viox nodded, "If you want to keep drawing and one day be as good as your brother, I say you should, the more you learn, the more you can improve on your skills." she watched the younger grin happily as the room shifted into cozy silence. Viox didn't mind as she leaned against the fluffy Inn pillows, reading one of the many books she had brought along. Klee was busy still drawing. They both perked at the sound of the Inn door opening, as Albedo appeared with a small tray in both hands. Everyone's dinner was steaming on it as he closed the door behind himself and set the tray down on the small table that was next to the door.
"I am back." Albedo called out
Klee was the first to move off the bed, darting over to Albedo and the food. Viox was a little slower as she was putting a bookmark to save her place. As she turned to stand up, she was surprised that Albedo was there with her food in hand, "Oh, thank you Knight Albedo." She said, taking her dish from his hands, sitting it onto her lap. She was glad he remembered her salad order as the dish had some grilled fowl and cheese on top of mixed greens.
Albedo gave her a small look over as Viox looked up at him with a small look of curiosity, "Is something the matter?" She asked
"I wanted to tell you that your eyes are very beautiful." He replied very bluntly
Viox could feel her face heat up as she looked away from his form, "Thank you." She honestly didn't know how to fully respond to his compliment as she picked at her food lightly, waiting for the other to move so she could eat without it being so awkward.
Klee thankfully broke the tension with a quick, "Can I sleep by myself tonight Miss Viox?"
To which Viox was more thankful she hadn't taken a bite of food at that point.
