Insult is an expression or statement (or sometimes behavior) which is disrespectful or scornful. Insults may be intentional or accidental.[1] An insult may be factual, but at the same time pejorative, such as the word "inbred".[2]

Albedo wasn't one to pay attention to much, but he could hear an insulting contest when he heard one. Miss Alexie had started with a comment towards Viox's dinner, saying she really shouldn't be eating salads all the time cause the food would become bland. Viox had rolled her eyes in a 'Viox like' manner as she ate her grilled chicken salad. Miss Alexie was chewing on some rice mixed with veggies and some scrambled eggs, it was all mixed into the dish of rice, though the egg that was mixed in was raw. Which was off putting towards Klee and Viox, who both had made a face at the raw egg part. Albedo had cleared his throat so the two would stop gaping at the dish that Miss Alexie was eating. Though it led to now. An insulting match between the two women at the table. Rei and Zhongli were sitting peacefully as Albedo looked towards them for some guidance on the issue at hand. He knew over all he wasn't going to be much help due to his monotoned self. The two looked at him with raised brows, but turned back to watch the match go on.

"You are the most pigheaded person I've ever met."

"At least I have some meat on my bones. You look like you hardly eat. Maybe instead of filling your brain with useless facts, you should eat more."

"At least I can claim intelligence, what's in your head? How much you love water?"

"At least I can get up in the morning! You sleep in like you're dead!"

"Yeah, it's called peace. Maybe if you shut your mouth for five seconds, you would do us all a favor."

Miss Alexie turned red, "At least I'm not in love with someone who won't look in my direction!"

Viox raised a brow, "Was that an insult? You merely stated a fact that I can agree with."

There was a slam on the table by Miss Alexie, who stood up in her seat, "You should do us all a favor and go back to Mondstadt already! It's clear that nobody here wants you to be here!"

There was silence. Albedo looked over at Viox, her face was blank. He wasn't used to seeing Viox without some type of emotion on her face. Her bright green eyes were dull as well. Albedo took it as a sign that this battle had gone too far. He cleared his throat as he looked towards Miss Alexie, "I believe we are done here. It is best if we finish up our dinner and head to bed soon." He commented

Miss Alexie slowly sat down as she sighed. It seemed as if the tension she had rolled off her form.

Viox swallowed a bit, standing up she excused herself from the table, asking if Klee was done as well, who agreed, taking the other by her hand and leaving for the Inn room.

Albedo took a glance at Rei. Rei was important to Viox. Only second to Violet, Viox's sister. The look of pure venom was in Rei's eyes as she glared at Miss Alexie. Albedo could see that Zhongli's hand was firmly pressed into his soon to be wife's leg, keeping the other from what Albedo could imagine, attacking his courted for that single last comment. Albedo didn't all agree with it either, but he was unsure who's side to take. Afterall, both women were at fault for the argument starting up, even if Miss Alexie was the one who went after Viox first. Albedo took a moment and then stood up.

"Please allow me to excuse myself, I need to check on Klee."

Miss Alexie nodded, "Tell her I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be so rude, and it wasn't fair of Klee to hear all of that."

Albedo nodded, "Of course." Though he was going to comment about apologizing to Viox, though that was something he could bring up after the two had relaxed and were in a calmer state than this tensed up anger.

When Albedo had reached the Inn room, he took in the sight of Viox reading one of her books while Klee was playing with the others' long hair.

"Klee, Miss Alexie apologizes for letting you hear the argument at dinner." Albedo spoke

"I don't forgive her. She said really mean things to Big Sister Viox." Klee frowned as she twisted some of Viox's hair.

Viox smiled a little, it was weak, and not as one would say, joyful, it looked more like she was embarrassed that Klee was defending her. Albedo blinked as he walked over to the bed, taking a seat as well. He wasn't going to parent Klee, she was still small and had growing to do, but now wasn't the time to really say that where the other was wrong.

"Klee…I also said some mean things too. I felt the need to insult back and I really shouldn't have. Now, you don't have to forgive her for how she acted, but you can't defend me either." Viox gently commented, sitting up more and turning around.

Klee looked at the elder, she wanted to say something, but Albedo could see his sister was struggling with her words.

"Klee?"

She turned towards Albedo. Her red eyes meeting his blank blue ones.

"Are you alright?" He asked

The answer was simple. Klee had asked Albedo to stop courting Miss Alexie. Which Albedo didn't have a problem with, naturally he was going to break the courtship off before heading back to Mondstadt originally. Though It would have to wait until morning. Albedo had watched as both girls had fallen asleep as soon as their normal bedtime had hit. Viox had fallen asleep last as a book was on her chest. She had started her next line of studying which was that of Ice Golems. She had stated she had a good theory that Albedo was one. The evidence seemed to line up somewhat. Albedo had watched her deep dive into the subject, her notebook and the guide were laying on her form as she took deep breaths, showing Albedo that Viox was indeed asleep.

Klee had fallen asleep first as she always did. A few rounds of the simple pick game with cards and she was tuckered out. She was tucked up to Viox's side as she had Dodoco in a death-like grip. Albedo felt the need to chuckle, although his body did not respond to his wants.

He was starting to wonder if all of this was for not. Yes he had been learning and discovering new emotions, but he couldn't feel them as deeply as he wanted. He wanted to smile, laugh, show when he was angry or upset, cry as well, but he couldn't. The signals from his wants were cut off like some blockage was there. Albedo looked at his hands, they were pale, small scars here and there from experiments going wrong. He did have a rather large burn scar on his right forearm. He remembered the accident like it was yesterday. He was working on a rather large project for creating a long lasting warming potion. The original warming potion only lasted for about a few hours before fading. Albedo merely wanted to draw out the effects for a longer time, so he had asked one of his oldest friends to help test it after he had finished. Though he remembered boiling the potion for too long and causing the burner and the vial of warming potion to both explode, he was lucky that only his forearm got most of the quick blast.

There was the need to chuckle somewhat after remembering his accident, but laughter never bubbled out. It was stuck in his chest, as he laid down, pulling some of his blankets over his form. Perhaps sleep would help.
