- A flail is a weapon consisting of a striking head attached to a handle by a flexible rope, strap, or chain. The chief tactical virtue of the flail was its capacity to strike around a defender's shield or parry. Its chief liability was a lack of precision and the difficulty of using it in close combat, or closely ranked formations.
Day one of Windblume wasn't all too eventful to Albedo as he walked around with Klee. Last night, Viox said she was going to be a little late because they had an emergency at Angel's Share, which Klee was worried about, though Albedo didn't mind all too much. With this festival being a week long, they had to not only pack at the same time and get ready to head out towards Dragonspine on the morning after the last day. He could see where some stress was building up on Viox. She looked really tired last night. In fact Albedo didn't even sleep at all since their return to Mondstadt. He didn't understand why. He had never had issues with how little he slept. So this was not normal for him.
"Big Brother Albedo, can we go see if there's any games around?" Klee asked, looking over at the older.
Albedo nodded, "I don't see why we can't. It seems not all too busy today, I do believe most of the kid things are in the mornings and afternoons before it turns more towards the adults." He commented, looking around the streets of Mondstadt.
"Albedo! Klee! Wait up!" Viox's voice called out, she was rushing over to where they were standing
Albedo turned as he felt his face twitch with the urge to smile at the woman as she stopped next to them. Even though she was kneeling over panting due to being out of breath. Albedo felt a little at ease seeing the other again. Even if it was after a short period of time, after being next to someone for three months, it was hard to have a short new routine. He took note that her hair wasn't pulled back today, in fact she rarely had it free flowing like this. He watched her catch her breath.
"Would you like to go get some water?" Albedo asked
Viox shook her head as she stood fully up, "Don't mind me! I'm okay now! Where's our first stop for the day?"
Klee giggled, "Your hair is going to get messy and tangled Big Sister Viox. Can I pull it back for you before we head up towards the stands?" She asked
Viox blinked, "Oh! I was in such a rush earlier this morning I forgot to put it up. Can you braid it for me? I have some ribbon."
"Of course!" Klee smiled
Albedo watched as Klee carefully pulled Viox's hair into a neat braid. The other thanked the younger before looking towards Albedo.
"What?" She asked
Albedo carefully reached into his pocket. He had planned on giving this to Viox later today, but she could use it now. Due to him not being able to sleep, he carefully made Viox a hair clip to keep her bangs out of her face. He made a matching one for himself and Klee due to merely liking the design. Klee was wearing her's instead of her cap. While Albedo's was holding his braided hair back for the day. The design was simple as it was a small cecilia flower woven with a pine tree branch. The clip was made from Starsilver ore. Albedo had some left over from when he was making paint and merely used a little bit of alchemy to help him create the clips. They would shine brighter in the moonlight, so right now they gave a small dull blue color.
"I wanted to give you this. As a gift for all your hard work." Albedo replied to the other, reaching over as he carefully pulled Viox's bangs from the right side of her face where they always sat. He slid the clip into place as he rested neatly in her bright pink hair.
After pulling away, his blank face was met with Viox's flushed one.
"Are you getting a heat flash?" Albedo questioned, placing a hand to the other's forehead, although his hand was gloved, he could try to feel if the other was overheating.
"No. It's just flushed from the running. Yeah, the running." Viox mumbled out, gently pulling away from his hand. "Come on, let's go check out the stands they have this year! Plus I'm starving, so let's grab some lunch soon." Viox commented, taking up Klee's hand
Albedo blinked, his chest felt a little funny after Viox pulled away. He brushed it off, following along from behind the other two.
Evening had started to fall as the emotion of regret bubbled up in Albedo's mind. He didn't want to stop spending time with Viox. Her energy output was keeping him awake at this point. Though he was very drowsy at this point. Some of his words were mushing together as he tried to talk with Viox about some things to keep his eyes open. Being in Viox's presence was soothing in a way, which Albedo never noticed this till now. He may have to run a few tests. For now the two walked around the stalls nearest to Klee. Who was enjoying an activity with a large group of other children. The smells of sugar entered his nose as his eyes darted to the source. Perhaps a small sugar kick will keep him awake enough for dinner.
"What is your favorite sweet?" Albedo asked, looking over the sweet stall
Voix paused, "Anything that's not spicy. I can't handle spicy foods. What about you?" She asked, her eyes were looking at Klee, who was playing with a group of Mondstadt children.
"I like anything I suppose." Albedo replied
"Is that your sweet tooth talking?" Viox looked over at the other, their eyes meeting
Albedo watched as Viox's cheeks slowly turned pink when his dull eyes met her bright ones, "I really do enjoy having dessert. How can I put it? When both physical and mental capacity are spent, high-energy materials further provide a kind of primordial, highly-effective boost."
"All you needed to say was that you have a large sweet tooth." Viox chuckled, "Come on, let's go get some dinner and relax."
Albedo nodded, "Let's get Klee first."
