A war hammer (French: martel-de-fer, "iron hammer") is a weapon that was used by both foot soldiers and cavalry. It is a very ancient weapon and gave its name, owing to its constant use, to Judah Maccabee, a 2nd-century BC Jewish rebel, and to Charles Martel, one of the rulers of France. In the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries the war hammer became an elaborately decorated and handsome weapon.[1]

Viox didn't know her answer. She wasn't sure about it. Had she really caught feelings for Albedo and she just didn't notice? They had gotten closer but was that a crush? Was it love? She wasn't sure. How could she be sure? She wanted to go home and think about this. Did she even want to court Kaeya? Did she still have feelings for the other anymore? She felt like her mind was splitting into pieces. What was the answer?

She looked at Kaeya. Kaeya was strong, smart, sly, and a very close and dear friend of hers. They had been friends for three whole years, even now it was almost four years since they met. Kaeya was cool, calm, and always collected. He never had a worry nor did he care much about anything that wasn't of interest for him to mess around with. Women were one of these things he toyed around with, but he never once did it towards Viox. He knew about her feelings but never once talked about them openly. He wasn't someone who spilled secrets, he protected her darkest ones with a lock and key. He knew a lot of things about Viox and she with him.

Yet, why did she no longer feel the fluttering in her heart? The nerves about admitting to the other that she liked him. Why didn't her heart soar when he stated that he wanted to court her? Why didn't she leap with joy about this information? She had loved him as a one sided love for years and now she didn't care that the other confessed he too had those same feelings. It was like fate was being cruel to her on purpose. She had longed for his attention and now that she had it, she no longer wanted it.

Although what about Albedo? Did she like him? She tore her gaze away from Kaeya and towards the crowds, she couldn't see him, but she could imagine he was sitting on the bench still, just waiting for her to return. His eyes wouldn't even light up when she came back, but she knew he had been eagerly awaiting her return. She thought about how they would often wake up together, well he would wake up before she did and crawl out of the bed, shushing her back to sleep when he went to go get breakfast each morning. His body was always cold to the touch, but Viox had noticed that he would warm up after a long night, even if she did crawl into his bed after Klee would kick her out of the other.

She remembered the small glances towards her as he was studying her for an emotion. He would sketch her form out and always show her the finished product. How he bought her the bracelet that she still had dangling from her wrist. Carefully her hand reached for it as if the thing would give her guidance on this situation.

Taking a deep breath for clarity, she turned to Kaeya. Her green eyes locked with the milky blue one of the other.

"My answer is…"

Viox rushed back towards the bench as Albedo waved off Violet. Which Viox barely missed, she pouted walking up to where the other sat. Her sister was too far to hear her anyways.

"What was that about?" She asked, taking a seat

"Oh she came over for a small chat. It was odd I will say." Albedo replied, "How was talking to Knight Kaeya? I heard from your sister he was planning on confessing to you? How did that go over?" He asked

Viox flushed a little, "It went fine. I'll tell you about it later alright? Let's walk around for a little while. I have a lot of things on my mind right now and I need to clear them."

"Alright, did you want to walk around the shoreline?" He asked

Viox took a moment, "As long as I don't get pushed in." She lightly joked

Albedo blinked, "Why would you get pushed in?"

Viox shook her head, "It was a joke. Come on, let's go walk it."

After a few hours of just mindlessly walking around the shoreline and talking about a few theories the two had between them. Albedo had walked Viox to her home and promised to pick her up after tomorrow night for Dragonspine. Viox thanked him for the evening as she shut her front door after he had said his goodbyes.

She wasn't sure how long she had sat in front of the door, her back leaning against it as her mind swam with what had happened with Kaeya. She wasn't all too sure if it was the right thing to do, but Violet had always stated to follow her heart. Though right now her heart was confused and tangled like a kitten playing with a ball of yarn. How was she supposed to think anymore?

She leaned her head back, looking up at her blank ceiling. If Violet wasn't so busy, she merely would have gone to her sister for help on all of this. Maybe it was for the best that Viox herself figured out her feelings. Maybe this is what fate wanted Viox to do. Not like she really believed in all that crap.

A sigh left her lips. What was she going to do? Thinking wasn't helping. She couldn't really talk to anyone. Maybe she could sleep on this mess.

"I just hope I'm not lying to myself."

But deep down, Viox knew she was, for how could a Golem love a Human?
