After returning to their proper time and place, Crash Bandicoot, his sister, Coco, their mentor, Aku Aku, and the four Quantum Masks they met on their latest adventure quickly received a surprising quest on Wumpa Island in the form of the "solo hero" Tawna from another universe, who had decided to get out of her self-isolation and immediately played video games with both Crash and Coco as the beginning of new friendships.

Later in the evening, after the trio of mutant bandicoots had their fun, Crash made a quick phone call to a certain someone before he then came across Tawna seated on the ground and looking over the ocean with a melancholic look on her face. Steeling his resolves, Crash moved himself closer to the dimensional traveler and sat on her right.

"Hey," he greeted with his trademark smile.

Turning to Crash with a friendly enough grin of her own, Tawna replied, "Hey, yourself, Crash. What can I do for you?"

Scratching the back of his head unsurely, Crash said, "Well, I was just wondering if you were okay. For what it's worth, we all know that you went out of your comfort zone just to hangout, which was nice, but if you ever need to talk, we're all here."

Showing more appreciation in her smile, Tawna said, "I'm grateful, Crash, but you don't have to worry." Her expression than gave way to some uncertainty before she admitted, "It's just that I couldn't help but think about my own Crash and Coco, and how I was close with them."

Crash showed a sad frown at Tawna's look, having learned beforehand that his counterpart and Coco's in her universe were killed by the local version of Doctor Nefarious Tropy. Determined nonetheless, he placed his hand on Tawna's and said, "The most you can do is live for them, but also make sure not to close yourself off from others." Feeling bold, he then planted a kiss on her right cheek, much to Tawna's surprise.

"Uh, Crash," Tawna began to say when she finally found her words. "What was that about?"

Shrugging at her question, Crash answered, "Couldn't resist. And truth be told, I got 'your' permission to support you in any way I can."

"What," Tawna replied in a stupefied tone of voice before adding, "Since when?"

"Not so long ago when I finally called my Tawna about you."

Absorbing Crash's words in shock, Tawna exhaled tiredly, yet showed a grateful smile to the shorter bandicoot all the same. "You're not giving up on me easily no matter what the dimension, aren't you," she said to him.

Grinning broadly, Crash replied, "Not in the slightest," before pulling Tawna for a kiss which she passionately reciprocated.

I hope you all do not mind how I shipped Crash with the alternate dimensional version of Tawna. If this was Fairy Tail, I would just pair up Natsu Dragion with female characters from Edolas, but since Alternate Tawna's Crash is deceased, I could not resist making this.

Remembering how Turtle Forever depicted the Mirage, 2003, and 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles being counterparts of one another with the same "source DNA" despite their respective source materials giving them each different settings and origins, though, I can almost imagine that the Tawna debuting in Crash Bandicoot 4 as well as the Evil Crash from Twinsanity's Tenth Dimension are not literally supposed to be evolved from alternate versions of the same bandicoots that the regular Tawna and Crash originally were. What this means for the female version of Doctor Nefarious Tropy and how those two are connected to each other is something else to consider as well.

Speaking of the female N. Tropy, seeing as how there are few fanfiction stories involving her, I had considered writing about Crash accidentally kissing her followed by her going through the Stages of Greif over it in what I fittingly named "Lipotropic", but I decided to scratch that one-shot to save time and room, but anyone interested is welcome to give it a shot.
