"Ugh," said Luz as she started to wake up to the sound of birds chirping.

"What happened?" she asked while sitting up. That's when she realized that she was sleeping on a couch in a cluttered living room, a cover thrown over her and her staff leaning against the couch near her head.

"Ah, you're awake," said Eda as she walked in with a cup of coffee. Luz quickly stood from the couch and grabbed her staff after seeing the woman.

"Who are you, and where in Titan's name am I?!" asked Luz while pointing the staff at Eda with a spell at the ready.

"I'm Eda Clawthorne, the one who saved you," said Eda while sitting down in a chair across from the couch.

"Your ears are round," said Luz once she noticed.

"Well, we are in the human world," said Eda.

"What?!" asked Luz as she rushed to a nearby window and opened the curtains to find an unfamiliar world outside.

"This can't be happening," she said while stumbling backwards before falling on her butt as her legs gave out.

"Easy kid, it's not the end of the world now that you're here," said Eda.

"But it is," said Luz without looking away from the window.

"Over on my world I was leading an army to stop the Emperor from coming to your world where he's planning to wage war with humans in order to claim this realm for himself," she said as tears began to roll down her cheeks.

"And now there's nothing to stop him from destroying everything I fought to protect," said Luz.

"Alright, it may actually be the end," said Eda with a worried expression. It was at that moment that King walked over to Luz and nudged her with his head.

"What… what is this thing?" asked Luz while sniffling and trying to wipe her tears away.

"That's my dog, King," said Eda.

"Why don't you move back to the couch, and we talk for a minute, you can pet him if you like," she said.

"Alright," said Luz as she picked King up and walked back over to the couch.
