A NEW DAY BEGINS.
Gao, a young man with a high rank in a group called the Order of the Unseen, him alongside his brothers and sister within the order seek the end of the 100-year war and to liberate the world from the Fire Nation's tyranny, the day was going to be normal for Gao but without knowing this day would change his life forever.
It was a rainy day in the streets of the middle ring of Ba Sing Se but inside the Order's headquarters the young disciples were doing their daily tasks, making breakfast, cleaning the training rooms, the infirmary and the stables, getting ready all the obstacle courses, receiving the nocturnal crews, check on the agents for news about the other hideouts in the Earth Kingdom or information about the city or any other ring and all the tasks needed to be done in a few short hours before the beginning of the day.
Gao helps with the training of the new members and keeps a close ear to any news about the war since it is forbidden to talk about war inside Ba Sing Se, but the Order does not care about that rule because there is only one world, and it is at the edge of chaos.
Other members enjoy to train, scout, gather resources, be messengers with the other hideouts, erase their presence in case of something can be the cause of any conflict to them, spy on high positions of the government without alerting the Dai Li in the upper ring and the members with a high rank often speak with the Master of the hideout to make new strategies about how to develop the presence of the Order in the continent with all the changes the war is making and also learn about new techniques and technologies that can help to stop the Fire Nation.
A wall has fallen inside one of the training rooms after Gao counterattack a disciple…
"Are you alright?" Said Gao while reaching for the hand of the disciple, with all the noise of the fallen wall inside the training room a few members of all ranks entered to see what had happened.
"What is going on Gao? What did you do now?" a sister asked while looking at the giant hole of the room.
"We were training but I destroyed the wall by accident" He answered without looking at the sister.
Curiosity was on Gao's mind on what was in the other side of the hole so he grab a torch and entered it, an old structure had been sealed for decades, after exploring this discovery with a few disciples, Gao found old scrolls with descriptions about the old Ba Sing Se, secrets, places of importance, a couple of notes, maps of the maze beneath the entire city and a chest with a piece of paper that dated back when the war was beginning but the paper was empty, the order likes to work with special inks to avoid secrets to be exposed, there was a hidden note that was reveal after Gao put the torch close to the paper, after reading the content of the paper Gao went to have a word with the Master.
"Master!" the word was heard from everywhere inside the place while Gao was running towards her study.
Gao knocked the door. "Master? Can I come in?"
"Please come in Gao" and the master was in surprise with the haste of Gao when he entered the room that was full of shelves and scrolls.
"Master" Gao continued breathing rapidly. "We had an incident in one the training rooms, no one is hurt but we found a structure inside the fallen wall with scrolls of the old Ba Sing Se, secrets, places of interest and more".
"So that was the loud sound that I heard, what do you have in your hand?" she asked as Gao gave her the scroll with the hidden message, but she was most displeased with the message on the paper.
The message was both a warning and a request to rescue whoever wrote it down, the warning was a description of what was happening in the southern shores of the Earth Kingdom, of how the Fire Nation was building new colonies, outposts and how they were capturing and executing both prisoners and rebels, the rescue request was to save that Unseen member that was being taking from the Earth Kingdom to the South Pole after he or she was discovered helping a few rebels on a caravan attack.
All this were old news since the message is old, but the Master was intrigued, "Where did you found this scroll Gao?" the master asked with a serious face.
Gao looked at the master with worried face and answered, "The message was under key in a chest inside the sealed structure".
She rang a bell; a woman came to the study. "What can I do for you master?"
"Bring me a map of the world and a couple of bags for a travel" she answered.
The disciple bowed and ran out looking for the things she was asked.
"Sorry to ask master but what are you planning?"
"I'm sending you to look into this, if the content of this message did happen and our lost member ended up captured by the Fire Nation but wasn't rescued… I want to know if by discovering who it was, might revel why it was on a chest in a hidden room of this place", she said as the disciple was entering with the map and the bags.
With the map on the table Gao began to elaborate a plan. "I will go to the south shores and then to the South Pole, I'll ask first to the locals about any stories or information about the invasions that they had back in the beginning but if I don't find anything there, I'll go with plan B which is going to the Fire Nation to search for anything that can help like reports or something in their archives."
"Sounds like a plan for the moment, seek our other hideouts in the south of the continent if you need places to rest, I'll send word to the other masters so they arrange for your arrival, and you will have money, so the transports and food never becomes a problem" she said as a bag of gold was landing on the map.
Gao was reaching for the empty bags and the sack of money, only to be interrupted by the hand of his master, "Gao… You will have to do this task in secret because there is something we are not seeing, if anyone asks anything before you leave, please send them to me".
"Of course, I will not fail you" he answered as he began to bow.
"Good luck brother and I will investigate the enigmas of the structure at ones" she bowed.
And the journey began.
