A/N: If anybody wonders, I will not be incorporating any of the Goh plot lines from the anime. The reason for me doing this is that I don't know how to write Goh faithfully. Which is be weird, because as a kid his age and even into my teen years, I shared many if not all his quirks given that I have autism and I associate myself with him. I mean if it's ever confirmed he has autism anyway, not wanting to assume. And yet, it's like he's too nuanced for me to know how to write him the write way. With Bianca in my Ash B&W story it was easy, since her role in the game was easy to understand mold it into that of someone who could very well have autism. But Goh is so much more than the game best friends and rivals. So I'm not all that confident I could write him good. Besides, I already have Trace and Elaine. No need to focus on too many things all at once given what I have in store for the story ahead. I hope you understand. Also, haha, if any of you wondered why Pikachu's a girl here, I was just going along with the walkthrough video of the popular Pokemon YouTube channel MandJTV with Michael. Then I looked at another video to watch how Trace acts through out the game and saw it was a boy, so I let myself be duped by the random number generator on what Pikachu's gender is. How goofy of me. Ah well, not like it changes anything signifigant.

Upon arrival in Vermillion, Professor Oak dropped off the teens at their destination. Delia and Mimey went off to do some shopping.

"We're here! I'll go park the car. You three go on ahead."

"Right!" All three of them said as they ran up the stairs to the lab. However, Trace stopped them by spreading his arms when a brown and yellow dog started barking at them. And it looked angry.

"What's that Pokemon?!"

"I've never seen that species before!" Elaine gasped.

"Well, let's not find out what it does by having it attack us." Trace told them. "We need the right approach."

"How about we let our Pokemon do the talking?" Ash asked. "What do you say Pikachu?

"Pika!" Pikachu nodded her head as she jumped down his shoulder to greet the small dog. The small dog stopped barking and sniffed the Mouse Pokemon, before it licked at Pikachu making her laugh, then they started running around in circles chasing each other. Eevee and Clefairy got in on the fun by running around as well, making it a fun small Pokemon gathering.

"Aww, that's so cute!" Elaine gushed at the interaction.

"Huh, good call on your part." Trace told his best friend.

"I figured she could have a better time talking to it than us." The boy shrugged.

"Huh, who are you?" A girl's voice asked. They turned to see a girl with a long purple braid along with wearing a school's uniform, mostly white with some dark blue.

"They're my helpers." Professor Oak came up behind her. "I took them with me to see your dad's ceremony."

"Oh, I see. I hope you have fun." She moved on quickly like she didn't want to be there, with the small dog following her.

"What's up with her?" Elaine questioned.

"That will have to wait." Oak told her. "We have to get to the ceremony."

"Right. Come on Pikachu.

"Pika Pika!" The Mouse Pokemon jumped on his shoulder as he went to the top, along with the others following. Once inside, they were in a big room where lots of people were. A purple haired scientist stepped up to the center stage.

"Thank you for coming. I'm Professor Cerise, owner of the Cerise Research Laboratory. I especially thank those who traveled a great distance to be here today. Thank you all. Now, let's move on to the subject of Pokemon." Snapping his fingers, a hologram projection came on, showing the world and multiple pictures of things like Pokemon, eggs and other. "As you know, our planet is host to many mysterious life forms, all over the globe in many different areas like forests, deserts and the deep sea. No matter where you go, you'll find them. We are dedicated to uncovering the mysteries of Pokemon in every region. From classics like here in Kanto to the newly discovered Galar region.

"I wonder what the Galar region is like." Trace whispered.

"I know right, it sounds neat though." Ash replied. Elaine shushed them harshly.

"Our knowledge of Pokemon is constantly expanding thanks to our investigation, for to know Pokemon is to know the world. And that is the key for making a better world for each and every one of us." Everyone clapped, including the teens and their Pokemon. Once the ceremony reached to its conclusion and everyone had asked their questions, Professor Oak brought our main characters to Cerise.

"So, these are the kids you told me about?" The professor asked.

"Yes. Meet Ash, Trace and Elaine. I thought it would be a good idea if they were to become your research fellows."

"What's a research fellow?" Ash questioned. Professor Cerise answered him.

"It's like a researcher internship where teenagers like yourselves help Professors with the study of Pokemon. While anyone can join for their own reasons, it really helps both the professor and student who want to know the mysteries knowledge of the Pokemon world. You'll really help deepen the understanding of Pokemon by sharing ideas and communicating them! All of us, as a team!"

"That definitely sounds like something we can do!" Trace replied with sparkles in his eyes. "It's like destiny, for we were planning on registering in the World Coronation Series so that we can become top tier champions!"

"I see! Well, you have the full support of the Cerise Research Laboratory." The man laughed.

"Me too." Samuel Oak told them. "Whatever you need, we'll do our best to give you the advice and tools you'll need."

"Awesome!" All three of the teenagers cheered as they high fived. Pikachu, Eevee and Clefairy high fived as well with a collective shout of their names.

"Haha, I think they're adopting our best friend synergy." Elaine giggled.

"Heh, that is rather amusing." Trace chuckled.

"Now then, if you're going to be registered for the WCS, you'll need to go to do so online. We'll have you equipped with the new Rotom phones in no time. Follow me."

"Oh my gosh, new phones! That would make our journey so much easier!" Elaine gushed over the fact they'd have new phones.

"Just don't be sure to get addicted to it." Trace joked. "We wouldn't want you to talk like, "And he was like, 'Oh no you didn't', and I was like, 'Oh yes I did.'" He spoke in the stereotypical valley girl accent rich vain girls tend to speak, causing himself and Ash to laugh until they spotted Elaine giving an evil eye with a sinister grin, cracking her knuckles.

"Oh no you didn't." She said in a way that sounded menacing and would result in a pounding if he continued.

"Oh uh, nothing Elaine!" Ash nervously laughed, waving his hands in surrender. "Trace is just being dumb, right best friend who I want to live?"

"Yeah, yeah! There's no reason to be all totally frighting and kill me or anything! Hahahaha!" He laughed like it was the last he would make. Elaine suddenly perked up as she took their hands.

"Great! Let's get our phones!" She dragged her male friends whom whimpered from how scary she was. Their Pokemon collectively sighed from their owner's antics, before realizing they're already adopting their synchronization, to which they laughed with each other as they followed the humans.

"Whoa, there's over 10,000 already?!" Ash gasped at the total amount of trainers there are signing up for the Normal Class entry, which was filling up every dozen per second.

"And it's not going to stop! Any time soon!" Trace gulped.

"This may take a while." Elaine rolled her eyes.

"Well, you do have a whole year." Professor Cerise told them. Considering the timing, it's quite the coincidence that if one of you makes it to the Master 8, you could become the Monarch on your birthday! Wouldn't that be a gift!" The purple haired man laughed.

"We may have a year, but even sharing a third of this pie between us will take way too long." Elaine sighed. "We need to climb this ladder quickly."

"Well, challenging the gym leaders is always a good choice." One of the Professor's assistants spoke up. "Beating a gym leader is worth hundreds of points. Thousands if you aim high enough."

"We should consider slowly climbing up the ladder that way then." Trace suggested. "We just started, so we probably can't beat a gym leader that's borderline Great Class." After a bit of scrolling, Ash found someone.

"Then, how about this? She's the lowest ranked gym leader." Ash showed his friends his choice.

"Rank 10,000, Viola Gardner. Bug type specialist of the Kalos region." Elaine read.

"Yeah, she sounds like a good start." Ash decided. "Plus, if one of us beats a particular gym leader, that means we can just challenge the next one since all of us could beat the one that's just been beaten."

"We could save time by fighting at most 80 gym leaders within the year." Trace remarked, to which he smiled. "Sounds like a plan."

"Alright, onto the Kalos region!" Ash declared, raising his phone high into the air.

"Pika Pika!" Pikachu cheered with him.

Everybody arrived at Santalune City in the Kalos region, to which they were amazed by the layout of the place.

"It's so beautiful!" Elaine gasped from the historical elegance it showed.

"The stone-walled city features brick pathways interwoven between European-style homes and buildings. Many gardens and buildings in the city are decorated with colorful flowers, and the central plaza features a large, Roselia-shaped stone fountain." Trace read from his phone, looking the place up. "The gym should be in the North section of the city."

"Why rush? I want to enjoy this place." Elaine voiced as she smelled some yellow flowers. Though Ash didn't like hearing that as he started hopping from foot to foot.

"But I want to battle the gym leader now!"

"Pikapi!" Pikachu agreed.

"Awww, you guys have the cutest Pokemon!" A female photographer came up to them. "Do you mind if I took some shots?" Looking at each other, they saw no problem.

"Not at all." The trio said. Placing their Pokemon down, the three started to make cutsy poses in front of the fountain which the woman loved.

"Wow! Such awesome pics! Thank you for letting me capture their cuteness!"

"You're welcome." Elaine replied, though something was ringing in her head. That's when something lit in her mind. "Wait, you're the one we're looking for, Viola Gardner!" Viola laughed.

"That's right, don't wear it out. What, you trainers or something?"

"Yeah, I want to challenge you to a Coronation Challenge as my first opponent!" Ash flashed her his phone showing he was among the trainers in the 10,000+ range. She smiled.

"I see. I'm honored I'm your first. Oh, and I heard about what you said about appreciating the place." Viola spoke to Elaine. "My gym is part museum, so you can appreciate all of my work in there while Ash is battling me."

"Really?! Thank you!" Elaine shook Viola's hands, to which the woman laughed.

"And I can record the match on my phone so you can watch how it went." Trace offered. His two friends nodded in agreement. Once they went to the gym/museum, they were amazed by all the high quality pictures the photographer took.

"Wow, you took all these yourself?" Ash inquired.

"Uh huh, although these are just a few of the pictures I've taken."

"You really have a talent for this stuff." Trace complimented the magnificent pictures.

"You can really tell how much you love bug types." Elaine added.

"Thank you, that means so much." Viola smiled. "Now then, how about that battle Ash?"

"You bet!" Once they were at the battle field with the battle approved by their Rotom phones, the two stood in the field as a Rotom drone hovered off to the side.

"Welcome, welcome, welcome! You have been approved for an official Pokemon World Coronation Series Normal Class battle! The challengers here are Viola Dubois from the Santalune Gym vs Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town!"

"Thanks Drone Rotom!" Viola thanked it. Ash got excited from seeing that.

"Whoa, I've never seen that before!"

"For today's battle, you can choose two Pokemon!" That caused Ash to pause.

"But... I only have one."

"A one-on-one shall be accepted for today's match!" The drone corrected, which helped as the trainer sighed in relief. "When a Pokemon on either side are unable to battle, that side loses! Both challengers bring out your Pokemon!"

"My lens are always focused on victory no matter what! Vivillon, go!" Viola sent out a beautiful butterfly kind of Pokemon with purple wings.

"Neat." Trace nodded.

"Alright buddy, you're up!" Ash let his Pikachu jump off his shoulder as she went to her spot on the battle field.

"PikaPika!"

"Battle begin!" The drone commenced.

"Quick Attack!" Pikachu speed blitzed forward with lightning speed, bashing into Vivillon immediately which caused it some pain as it cried out.

"Vivillon, fly around Pikachu!" Viola ordered. The Scale Pokemon flew around the air, trying to make it harder to hit it.

"Get it with Thundershock!" Pikaaaachuuuu!" Pikachu sent a streak of lightning to hit the bug/flying type, but Viola wasn't going to go down that easy.

"Counter with Struggle Bug!" Glowing with red energy, it unleashed said energy out to block the incoming attack, causing an explosion. "Now use Gust!" Flapping its wings, the Scale Pokemon caused wind to whip through the arena, pushing Pikachu back. She grunted from the effort she had to keep where she was. Once the attack finished, Ash retaliated.

"Quick Attack!" Like before the Mouse Pokemon was able to land a blow by landing a super fast hit against the bug/flying type, pushing it back.

"Pull it together and use Struggle Bug!" Again glowing with red energy, it generated more as a means to attack from a distance.

"Thundershock!" Pikachu countered the attack with electricity, which made another explosion.

"Struggle Bug, again!"

"Wait for it Pikachu!" Ash told his partner.

"Cha?!" The electric type was confused and worried about what he was thinking, but gulped as she did as was told and stood there as Vivillon charged up, before making another attack. "Jump up with Quick Attack!" Thanks to her reflexes, she jumped above the incoming attack, surprising Vivillon. "Thundershock!"

"Pikaaaachuuuu!" The Mouse Pokemon sent a jolt of electricity right at Vivillon, whom couldn't dodge it and was struck, crying out from the damage.

"No!" Viola cried out. "Quick, use Light Screen!" She tried telling her Pokemon, but a zap which stopped it from doing so showed that it was paralyzed.

"Alright then! Thundershock, once more!" Ash told his partner.

"Pikaaaachuuuu!" She made one final attack which shocked the Scale Pokemon badly as it was subjected to the super effective attack, until it wore off and the Pokemon fainted.

"Vivillon is unable to battle! Pikachu wins! Which means the victory goes to Ash from Pallet Town!

"Alright, yeah! We did it Pikachu!" Ash celebrated his first official victory.

"Pikapika!" Pikachu cheered with him. She went and jumped into his arms, earning a hug.

"Huh, talk about a great match Ash." Trace chuckled as he ended the recording video.

"Thank you Vivillon for a great battle." Viola told her Pokemon as she returned it.

"As a result of today's battle, there has been a change in the WCS rankings effective immediately!" The Rotom Drone announced. Ash checked his phone, and saw it got boosted to 9,600. He was pleased.

"Interesting, I've been promoted to the ranking of 9,600!" However, Viola sighed.

"Oh well, as if being the lowest ranked gym leader wasn't enough, my ranking went even lower." Despite that though, her face returned to being content as she put her phone away. "But, it's not like being the strongest is all that important. What matters is that I help my opponents and have fun with my life, so I still have no regrets. Ash, congrats on beating me, but you have a long way to go if you want to be in the top tier."

"Yeah, but with my friends and Pokemon by my side, I know I can win this!" Ash declared, full of determination. "You can count on it!"

"That's great. I would suggest though getting yourself a second Pokemon. Go up out of Santalune to Route 4 so you can catch something good."

"Will do!" Ash gave her a thumbs up. Heeding her advice, the three went to what was called Parterre Way which was a botanical flower garden where they were having a blast catching all the Pokemon. A Pokemon that Ash found, thanks to Pikachu pointing it out, was a Ralts, a small white humanoid with green hair and pink horns.

"PikaPika!"

"I see it! Nice work Pikachu! Now, use Thundershock!" The Mouse Pokemon leapt off his shoulder and shouted,

"Pikaaaachuuuu!" Ralts was blasted by an attack that it couldn't defend against. He saw his chance.

"Pokeball, go!" Throwing it, it hit the Ralts and absorbed it, which wiggled a bit before clicking.

"Yeah, I caught a Ralts!" Ash held up his prize, to which his friends and all their partner Pokemon smiled. Making sure to get everything, they made sure to catch one of every Pokemon. Ash decided to keep two, his Ralts and a Bunnelby.

A/N: Alright, I know Ash scored at over 3,000 but I'm in this for the long haul. I want Ash and his friends to beat all the reasonably available gym leaders and Elite Four they can get through. I want them to earn it. I'll soon have a on-hand Pokemon progress list available shortly. Thank you to any of you who follow and favorite this. It really means a lot. Oh, and can someone help me? If you can help find a way for me to determine when a Pokemon levels up, how much would a level 6 Pikachu get by beating a level 12 Vivillon? A reply would be helpful for me and this blooming story, thank you tons.
